The CIA vs. the presidency: this is not the first time

The CIA vs. the Presidency: this is not the first time

by Jon Rappoport

February 20, 2017

—In 1947, the president of the United States, Harry Truman, decided: I’m going to create a snake and call it the CIA. Its watchword will be secrecy. It will collect secrets of our enemies and hold them secret and report the secrets to the president, who will decide what to do. Of course, the snake will remain under the president’s control. Its entire personality will be based on deception, but it will remain loyal to the president. No problem. Sure.

I’m thankful for Charles Hollander’s challenging piece on Thomas Pynchon’s novel, The Crying of Lot 49: “Pynchon, JFK and the CIA: Magic Eye Views of The Crying of Lot 49.”

Hollander offers vital reminders of the war between two parts of the Executive Branch: the presidency and the CIA.

“Implicit in Pynchon’s fiction is the view that events in recent American history have led to a virtual constitutional crisis, a challenge to the supremacy of the presidency by the intelligence community.”

“When Eisenhower made his ‘open skies’ proposal, in July 21, 1955, at a Geneva summit conference, calling for unrestricted but monitored overflight of national territories on both sides of the Iron Curtain, many observers felts its acceptance would have gone a long way toward thawing the Cold War. To make a gesture of good faith toward Soviet Premier Khrushchev, the president ordered the CIA (under Allen Dulles) to halt its U–2 photo–reconnaissance flights. But Dulles secretly arranged for the flights to continue. When Francis Gary Powers’s U–2 spy plane was shot down in the Ural mountains on May 1, 1960, and Khrushchev announced the facts to the world media, the embarrassed Eisenhower lied to cover up. To many it appeared that the CIA chief had disobeyed a direct order from the Commander–in–Chief. The St. Louis Post–Dispatch asked the next day, ‘Do our intelligence operatives enjoy so much freewheeling authority that they can touch off an incident of grave international import by low–level decisions unchecked by responsible policy–making power’?”

“Later, when Lee Harvey Oswald’s possible role in the U–2 affair became known, some observers felt Dulles’s action implied that the director of the CIA was above the president and that the military–industrial complex could do what it pleased, independent of the will of the people as expressed by the popularly elected and duly constituted chief executive. No wonder Ike [Eisenhower] was peeved: the CIA was running the U.S. the way it ran Latin America. The U–2 affair was no mere personality squabble, Ike vs. Dulles; it was two institutions of the executive branch vying for supremacy, the presidency vs. the CIA, hence the democratic process vs. a form of totalitarism.”

“The CIA had already planned the April 1961 Bay of Pigs invasion before Kennedy took office in January, and when the invasion failed, Kennedy felt that the CIA had set him up. He let it be known he intended to dismantle the CIA and assign its functions to the other intelligence units within the government. He reportedly vowed ‘to splinter the CIA in a thousand pieces and scatter it to the winds’… Kennedy, a Democrat, forced the Republican Allen Dulles to resign, along with other senior CIA officers. But the CIA was too deeply involved just then in operations around the world to be disassembled. Kennedy was assassinated in 1963, in a way that implicated the CIA…critics of the Warren Commission Report, maybe even J. Edgar Hoover—believed the CIA had some hand in Kennedy’s assassination and the coverup. If it had, the CIA was again demonstrating that the presidency was subordinate to the CIA.”

“In a very short time, two presidents, a Republican and a Democrat, ran afoul of the CIA. The result amounted to a constitutional crisis, a change in our actual form of government without benefit of a duly ratified constitutional amendment. The crisis is reminiscent of that period in Roman history when the Praetorian Guard could sell the office of Emperor to the highest bidder and then, after a time, assassinate him and have a new auction. To this day, the president has never again challenged the CIA, though the agency has made its share of egregious errors. With the selection of former CIA director George H.W. Bush, the presidency and the CIA effectively merged…”

The Matrix Revealed

These days, President Trump is in his own war against the CIA and other parts of the intelligence community (IC).

In his case, he has overtly criticized the IC and called them disseminators of fake news and lies. He claims he’s putting an end to foreign wars of conquest. He’s already canceled a major Globalist trade treaty, the TPP.

But the IC believes it owns the Presidency and sets his agenda.

This is not a recent assumption. It goes all the way back to the early days of the CIA; Eisenhower, Kennedy.

In 2016, the IC leadership decided Trump would be a threat to their power, so they leaked/invented information about the Russians influencing the election on behalf of Trump. This effort was aimed at corroding his right to claim that he was the legitimate president.

The war continues.

The IC doesn’t want presidents with independent ideas.

They’re the bosses, and they intend to keep it that way.

—The snake slithers in the sun and the shade. It moves deftly and collects information and decides what to do with it. It compiles its own private list of enemies and allies. It senses its own power. Why should it honor its mandate? There is an Empire to be gained.

Is the NSA the real president of the United States?

Is the NSA the real president of the United States?

by Jon Rappoport

February 16, 2017

The US intelligence community continues its war to kick Donald Trump to the curb and destroy his presidency.

Obviously, the NSA, the CIA, and their silent partners want to continue to run this country.

So they spy and leak, spy and leak.

We’ll get to the guts of the problem in a minute, but first a word from Bill Binney.

Breitbart: “William Binney, a former highly placed NSA official turned whistleblower, contended in an exclusive interview today that the National Security Agency (NSA) is ‘absolutely’ monitoring the phone calls of President Donald Trump.”

“Binney was an architect of the NSA’s surveillance program. He became a famed whistleblower when he resigned on October 31, 2001 after spending more than 30 years with the agency.”

“Asked whether he believes the NSA is tapping Trump, Binney replied: ‘Absolutely. How did they get the phone call between the president and the president of Australia? Or the one that he made with Mexico? Those are not targeted foreigners’.”

“Binney further contended the NSA may have been behind a data leak that might have revealed that Michael Flynn, Trump’s national security adviser, allegedly misled Vice President Mike Pence and other Trump administration officials about the contents of his phone calls with Russia’s ambassador to Washington.”

“Regarding Flynn’s case, Binney stated of the NSA”:

“’If they weren’t behind it, they certainly had the data. Now the difference here is that FBI and CIA have direct access inside the NSA databases. So, they may be able to go directly in there and see that material there. And NSA doesn’t monitor that. They don’t even monitor their own people going into databases’.”

“So, they don’t monitor what CIA and FBI do. And there’s no oversight or attempted oversight by any of the committees or even the FISA court. So, any way you look at it, ultimately the NSA is responsible because they are doing the collection on everybody inside the United States. Phone calls. Emails. All of that stuff’.”

“Utilizing data provided by whistleblower Edward Snowden, the Guardian and Washington Post in June 2013 released a series of articles reporting that the NSA was collecting the telephone records of millions of Americans.”

“…’they [the NSA, Binney said]] are given too much money anyway. When they are given too much money, they get to do wild and crazy things. And this is wild and crazy. Violations of the Constitution’s 4th, 5th, and 6th amendments’.”

—end of Breitbart clip—

—Nearly two years ago, on April 19, 2014, I wrote: “Taking the overall [NSA] scheme to another level, consider this: those same [NSA] heavy hitters who have unfettered access to financial information can also choose, at opportune moments, to expose certain scandals [e.g., Michael Flynn] and crimes. In this way, they can, at their whim, cripple governments [e.g., the Trump administration]…”

Now we come to the guts of the problem. Here is my complete article from April 10, 2014:

The Surveillance State has created an apparatus whose implications are staggering. It’s a different world now. And sometimes it takes a writer of fiction to flesh out the larger landscape.

Brad Thor’s novel, Black List, posits the existence of a monster corporation, ATS, that stands alongside the NSA in collecting information on every move we make. ATS’ intelligence-gathering capability is unmatched anywhere in the world.

On pages 117-118 of Black List, Thor makes a stunning inference that, on reflection, is as obvious as the fingers on your hand:

“For years ATS had been using its technological superiority to conduct massive insider trading. Since the early 1980s, the company had spied on anyone and everyone in the financial world. They listened in on phone calls, intercepted faxes, and evolved right along with the technology, hacking internal computer networks and e-mail accounts. They created mountains of ‘black dollars’ for themselves, which they washed through various programs they were running under secret contract, far from the prying eyes of financial regulators.”

“Those black dollars were invested into hard assets around the world, as well as in the stock market, through sham, offshore corporations. They also funneled the money into reams of promising R&D projects, which eventually would be turned around and sold to the Pentagon or the CIA.”

“In short, ATS had created its own license to print money and had assured itself a place beyond examination or reproach.”

In real life, whether the prime criminal source is one monster- corporation or a consortium of companies, or elite banks, or the NSA itself, the outcome would be the same.

It would be as Thor describes it.

We think about total surveillance as being directed at private citizens, but the capability has unlimited payoffs when it targets financial markets and the people who have intimate knowledge of them.

“Total security awareness” programs of surveillance are ideal spying ops in the financial arena, designed to suck up millions of bits of inside information, then utilizing them to make investments and suck up billions (trillions?) of dollars.

It gives new meaning to “the rich get richer.”

Taking the overall scheme to another level, consider this: those same heavy hitters who have unfettered access to financial information can also choose, at opportune moments, to expose certain scandals and crimes (not their own, of course).

In this way, they can, at their whim, cripple governments, banks, and corporations. They can cripple investment houses, insurance companies, and hedge funds. Or, alternatively, they can merely blackmail these organizations.

We think we know how scandals are exposed by the press, but actually we don’t. Tips are given to people who give them to other people. Usually, the first clue that starts the ball rolling comes from a source who remains in the shadows.

What we are talking about here is the creation and managing of realities on all sides, including the choice of when and where and how to provide a glimpse of a crime or scandal.

It’s likely that the probe Ron Paul had been pushing—audit the Federal Reserve—has already been done by those who control unlimited global surveillance [NSA]. They already know far more than any Congressional investigation will uncover. If they know the deepest truths, they can use them to blackmail, manipulate, and control the Fed itself.

The information matrix can be tapped into and plumbed, and it can also be used to dispense choice clusters of data that end up constituting the media reality of painted pictures which, every day, tell billions of people “what’s news.”

In this global-surveillance world, we need to ask new questions and think along different lines now.

For example, how long before the mortgage-derivative crisis hit did the Masters of Surveillance know, from spying on bank records, that insupportable debt was accumulating at a lethal pace? What did they do with that information?

When did they know that at least a trillion dollars was missing from Pentagon accounting books (as Donald Rumsfeld eventually publicly admitted on September 10, 2001), and what did they do with that information?

Did they discover where billions of dollars, in cash, shipped to post-war Iraq, disappeared to?

When did they know the details of the Libor rate-fixing scandal? Press reports indicate that Barclays was trying to rig interest rates as early as January 2005.

Have they tracked, in detail, the men responsible for recruiting hired mercenaries and terrorists, who eventually wound up in Syria pretending to be an authentic rebel force?

Have they discovered the truth about how close or how far away Iran is from producing a nuclear weapon?

Have they collected detailed accounts of the most private plans of Bilderberg, CFR, and Trilateral Commission leaders?

For global surveillance kings, what we think of as the future is, in many respects the present and the past.

It’s a new world. These overseers of universal information-detection can enter and probe the most secret caches of data, collect, collate, cross reference, and assemble them into vital bottom-lines. By comparison, an operation like WikiLeaks is an old Model-T Ford puttering down a country road.

Previously, we thought we needed to look over the shoulders of the men who were committing major crimes out of public view. But now, if we want to be up to date, we also have to factor in the men who are spying on those criminals, who are gathering up those secrets and using them to commit their own brand of meta-crime.

And in the financial arena, that means we think of Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan as perpetrators, yes, but we also think about the men who already know everything about GS and Morgan, and are using this knowledge to steal sums that might make GS and Morgan blush with envy.

—end of 2014 article—

The Matrix Revealed

(To read about Jon’s mega-collection, The Matrix Revealed, click here.)

This is what we are dealing with. This is the way, for example, governments and administrations can be brought down.

It all depends on whom the NSA wants to support and whom it wants to get rid of.

The NSA is not only the swamp that needs to be drained, it is the agency looking at and probing the swamp and extracting crucial information for itself and its close friends.

To accumulate more power.

To forward its agenda of…security? Yes, if by security we mean endless conquest and Empire and control.

Ah, there they are. The NSA, the obsessed technocrats who believe they are masters of all they survey. And spy on.

Michael Flynn: minding our own business vs. saving the world

Michael Flynn: minding our own business vs. saving the world

The global snake wears a sneer because it’s his party.

by Jon Rappoport

February 16, 2017

Flynn talked to some Russian and said the US under Trump might ease sanctions against Russia? This was the high crime? This was why he had to go?

What sanctions? Imposed for what purpose? What are all these people in Washington talking about?

Let’s go back to the beginning.

At the founding of the Republic, there was a chance to mind our own national business, and a few years later, outgoing President George Washington warned the country to stay away from entangling foreign alliances.

But of course he was ignored.

So flashing forward, now we hear about interconnected, global, “inevitable situations” which require our attention.

Interest rates, trade imbalances, taxes, wars, foreign military bases, binding treaties, unfriendly regimes, national debt, loans unpaid; on and on it goes—as if these cluster-problems arose out of some sacred duty to solve other people’s difficulties; and we’re locked in, we have to meddle, we have to be the meddling messiah, we’re deep in a massive soap opera called interdependence.

Well, sure, once you start walking down that road, things will pile up. They’ll get worse. Last year’s obligations will double this year. You have to speak sixteen languages at once to satisfy all your global partners, and you speak them out of the side of your mouth because you’re conniving and cheating and stealing and killing along the way. Just as they are. It’s all one big terminally failing family called It Takes a Village.

The sun can’t set outside your home anymore, it has to set on every conniving government on the face of the Earth, and we’re on board.

Newsflash: This isn’t planetary love, it’s not one united human race, it’s an infection.

Take the recent case of Michael Flynn, who was forced out of the Trump administration because he possibly talked with some Russian ambassador about easing US sanctions against Russia.

The US sanctions were launched in the first place because Russia annexed the Ukrainian territory of Crimea. And that was our business because…?

Here from Wikipedia is a bit of background on the annexation. Note the jungle of entangling alliances involved, the agreements, the rules and regulations—NONE of which America needed to be concerned about. Therefore, why did we lay on sanctions? My comments below are in brackets.

“Ukraine considers the annexation to be a violation of international law [international law? who cares?] and agreements by Russia, including Agreement on Establishing the Commonwealth of Independent States in 1991 [the what?], Helsinki Accords [so what?], Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons of 1994 [and this relates to Crimea how?] and Treaty on friendship, cooperation and partnership between the Russian Federation and Ukraine [none of our business].”

“The event was condemned by many world leaders [so what?] as an illegal annexation of Ukrainian territory, in violation of the 1994 Budapest Memorandum [the what?] on sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, signed by Russia. It led to the other members of the then G8 [who cares about the G8?] suspending Russia from the group, then introducing the first round of sanctions against the country. The United Nations General Assembly [your basic global meddlers] also rejected the vote and annexation, adopting a non-binding resolution [busy work by meddlers] affirming the ‘territorial integrity of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders’.”

“Following a Crimean referendum [none of our business], held on 16 March 2014, in which separation was favoured by a large majority of voters, the UN resolution [who cares?] also ‘underscores that the referendum having no validity, cannot form the basis for any alteration of the status of Crimea.’ The resolution calls upon all States and international organizations [who cares?] not to recognize or to imply the recognition of Russia’s annexation. In 2016, UN General Assembly [major meddlers] reaffirmed non-recognition of the annexation and condemned ‘the temporary occupation of part of the territory of Ukraine — the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol’ [blah blah].”

We could take all this back further to the 2014 uprising/coup in the Ukraine, and the role of outsiders (e.g., CIA). But you get the idea.

Once you start down the road of making alliances and agreements with other governments, you’re in the web. You’re in the nest of vipers. You are a viper.

The US population has been thoroughly conditioned to expect their government to intervene in crises at the drop of a hat, “on the side of the angels,” of course.

But each “solution” digs us deeper in the fundamental problem. Meddling.

Once meddling is established as a way of life, the military-industrial complex and the Deep State can feel secure in the knowledge that any intervention and any war will play well—because all they have to do is promote war as a way of offering “freedom and peace to the less fortunate.”

War is peace.

Foreign entanglements are justified on the basis of high-level, complex, sophisticated baloney cut six ways from Sunday.

This is the swamp nobody in Washington wants to talk about.

Well, there was one man who did. Ron Paul.

He saw through the whole hissing, hideous, life-sucking, money-making, evil scam.

He was cut off at the knees by the media networks when he ran for president. And the movement behind him paved the way for Trump.

As I’ve written before, Trump needs to sit down and have a long talk with Ron.

A very serious talk.

If Trump actually cares.

Trump is the target in the cross hairs for the entire US intelligence community, the State Department, parts of the Pentagon, the defense contractors, and numerous other Washington and media sluts. To say nothing of the Rockefeller Globalists. They want wars. They need to know he’ll play ball. They don’t like even a hint that he’ll go in a different direction. They want the whole pie.

Foreign entanglements.

George Washington warned against them.

And ever since he was ignored, the chickens have been coming home to roost.

Judge’s order to block Trump’s immigration travel ban is ridiculous

Judge’s order to block Trump’s immigration travel ban is ridiculous

by Jon Rappoport

February 5, 2017

The Judge is playing games. He’s lying.

He obviously doesn’t like Trump’s immigration travel ban, so he’s cooking up reasons for slapping a temporary restraining order on it.

A freshman in law school could point out holes in those reasons big enough to drive a fleet of trucks through.

On February 3rd, Judge James Robart issued his order (Case 2:17-cv-00141-JLR Document 52 Filed 02/03/17 Page 1 of 7): he temporarily restrained the federal government from enforcing Trump’s immigration travel ban.

The Judge’s order is absurd for several reasons.

First of all, objections to Trump’s ban were entered into the court by the States of Washington and Minnesota, as the “injured parties.” But Judge Robart announced his decision would affect all States—the whole country—because immigration law must be applied “uniformly” across the board.

Perhaps, but nowhere is it stated that a temporary restraining order (TRO) issued by a judge must be applied uniformly across the whole country.

Since when is a TRO the same as a law?

Speaking of law, no final legal/constitutional decision has been rendered re Trump’s Executive Order on immigration. It’s still up for grabs. The Judge is just writing script to suit his bias.

The Judge may not like Trump’s ban; clearly, he does not. The Judge may believe the ban will be overturned by a higher court because it is unconstitutional. The Judge may think Trump is committing an immoral act. But all that is beside the point. The only thing Judge Robart was empowered to do was issue a TRO or not issue a TRO. Period.

Why should he have the right to apply his TRO, not a law, to the whole of the United States? Maybe he’s a god we haven’t been told about. If so, I’d like to see the evidence.

Next point: The judge made a number of comments to justify issuing his the TRO: “The States are likely to suffer irreparable harm in the absence of [my] preliminary relief [restraining order].”

That is absurd on its face. Irreparable harm? This means harm that can never be fixed? Come on. The Judge may as well have said, “I’m biased. I don’t like Trump’s EO and I don’t like him. So when I said ‘irreparable’, I exaggerated by a few thousand miles. Ha-ha.”

The Judge wrote: “The EO [Trump’s Executive Order limiting immigration] adversely affects the States’ residents in areas of employment, education, business, family relations, and freedom to travel.”

More fluff, nonsense, and outright deception. Does the Judge seriously expect us to believe that the banning of 35,000 more refugees than the 2016 federal cap is going to decimate the States?

(In his EO, Trump wrote: “I hereby proclaim that the entry of more than 50,000 refugees in fiscal year 2017 would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, and thus suspend any such entry until such time as I determine that additional admissions would be in the national interest.” An NPR political editor stated: “For 2016, the cap was 85,000.” The difference is 35,000.)

Judge Robart wrote: “In addition, the States themselves are harmed by virtue of the damage…inflicted upon the operations and missions of their public universities…as well as injury to the States’ operations, tax bases, and public funds.”

Same objections as above. Judge Robart is stretching the truth to the breaking point. His definition of “harm” and “irreparable harm” are coming from his private dictionary of exaggerations. He’s winging it.

Case closed.

Except it isn’t.

A Judge who can take powers not granted to him, who can invent, out of whole cloth, dire consequences where none exist, is hustling the system he’s sworn to defend.

Do Chicago gang thugs want to stage a revolution with Trump?

Do Chicago gang thugs want to stage a revolution with Trump?

by Jon Rappoport

February 1, 2017

A story out of CBS Local in Chicago (youtube) suggests that gangs in the city want to lower the body count, believe they can, and want to work with Trump on it.

The gangs didn’t have faith in Obama; they do have respect for Trump.

Chicago is Gang Murder Central in the US.

CBS: “The founder and pastor of a megachurch in Ohio told President Donald Trump he has spoken to gang leaders in Chicago who want to work with the White House to reduce violent crime.”

“Dr. Darrell Scott, senior pastor of New Revival Center in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, was a guest of Trump’s at an African-American History Month meeting at the White House. He said he is a ‘black Trump supporter’, and claimed he was ‘contacted by some of the top gang thugs in Chicago for a sit-down’.”

“Taking a swipe at former President Obama, who began his political career as a community organizer in Chicago, Scott said the gangs ‘want to work with the administration … they believe in this administration; they didn’t believe in the prior administration. They told me this outta their mouths’.”

“’They reached out to me [Reverend Scott], because they’re associating me with you [Trump]. They respect you. They believe in what you’re doing, and they want to have a sit-down about lowering that body count. So in a couple weeks, I’m going into Chicago,’ Scott said. ‘I said we’ve got to lower that body count. We don’t want to talk about anything else; get that body count down, and they [gang members] agreed that the principals that can do it – these are guys straight from the streets, no politicians, straight street guys – but they’re going to commit that if they lower that body count, we’ll come in and we’ll do some social programs’.”

“Trump said, ‘I think that’s a great idea, because Chicago is totally out of control’.”

“Chicago had more than 760 murders in 2016, the highest number in 19 years. The first month of 2017 saw that trend continue, with 51 homicides in January, one more than January 2016.”

“Scott said the gang members who reached out to him want to work with Trump.”

“’They see hope with you [Trump]’, he said.”

“Trump said, ‘I think that’s great’.”

Several points here.

One: If these gang members are in the upper echelon, they can definitely lower the body count in Chicago.

Two: It’s easy to understand why the gangs didn’t have faith in Obama and do have some respect for Trump. Obama was a venal poser. He never approached the gang problem with effective action while he was in office. Trump is a deal maker. What’s being called for here is a deal. Trump sees gang killings in inner cities as a reality that has to be faced. No doubt, Trump’s recent threat to send federal law-enforcement people into Chicago caused gang members to sit down and think a little.

Three: the gang notion of lowering the body count in return for social programs injected into neighborhoods is off the mark. What’s actually needed is jobs. And one of the prime solutions is already in Chicago. It’s there. As in: THERE. It just needs to be expanded. I’ve written about this before, especially in my open letter to Steve Bannon, Trump’s idea man:

“On a search engine, type in ‘urban farms Chicago.’ You’ll see there is actually a directory of such operations. They’re happening. Local people are growing and eating their own food. Some of this food can also be sold for profit. MONEY. JOBS.

“There should be many, many small urban farms…Plots of land where local residents grow and trade and eat their own fresh, clean, nutritious food. It is a revolutionary act.”

“The government provides initial funding in the form of loans. The residents themselves will expand their operations into profit-making ventures; they’ll sell the excess food.”

Get it? It’s not brain surgery. It’s there, for anyone to see. Turn the inner city neighborhoods of Chicago—the gang war zones—into many, many small urban farms.

Can the gangs deal with that?

Can they actually help this program succeed? Can they stop killing people long enough to work on something that lifts people up instead of depositing them into streets with bullets in their bodies?

Can they see that people growing, eating, and selling their own clean, fresh, nutritious food is far better than people selling drugs that destroy lives? That would be a reach.

Can they at least lower the body count and otherwise stand aside and let the inner-city residents of Chicago elevate their lives?

And just as important, can the people of Chicago brush aside the race hustlers and Soros-funded troops and so-called local leaders who have a stake in more death and destruction in the city’s slums? The leaders who thrive, like leeches, on things NOT working out?

A transformation is there, waiting to happen.

It’s not pie in the sky. It’s food in the ground.

Exit From the Matrix

Finally, who is Reverend Darrell Scott, the pastor of a congregation in Cleveland? Does he really have the ear of gang leaders in Chicago? Have they really told him they’re ready to lower the body count in their neighborhoods? Is Scott positioned to be the middle-man in serious negotiations involving the president of the United States?

Regardless, the solution for inner cities equals reducing the power of the gang scourge; and it equals jobs. Urban farms would be a direct-line bootstrap operation, open to every resident. Food, health, money.

Previous administrations in Washington have never considered it.

Will this one?

Trump’s toxic agriculture policy will be as grotesque as Obama’s

by Jon Rappoport

February 1, 2017

(To join our email list, click here.)

In articles about Trump, I have praised the man for certain things he’s done and is doing. But that isn’t a reason for closing my eyes and accepting his programs wholeheartedly.

This is what I predicted in recent articles. Unless some miracle turnaround occurs, Trump’s pick for Secretary of Agriculture, Sonny Perdue, will be a catastrophe. Lights out. Bang.

Big Ag vs. the small American farmer? No contest.

Katherine Paul, the associate director of the Organic Consumers Association, has the story:

“Trump heaped predictable praise on Sonny Perdue, promising that the former governor of Georgia will ‘deliver big results for all Americans who earn their living off the land’.”

“The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), that multi-billion-dollar lobbying group that represents Monsanto, Dow, Dupont, Coca-Cola, General Mills (you get the picture) rushed to praise Perdue’s nomination. In a statement, GMA’s president said her group ‘looks forward to working with [Perdue] on issues key to keeping America’s food the safest and most affordable food supply in the history of the world’. Coming from the GMA, leader of the charge to keep labels off GMO foods, we know that ‘safest and most affordable food’ is code for ‘industrial chemical GMO food’.”

“And by now, we also all know that Perdue, who was named 2009 Governor of the Year by the Biotechnology Innovation Organization, counts both Monsanto and Coca-Cola among his many corporate campaign donors.”

“A former fertilizer salesman, Perdue at one time owned Houston Fertilizer and Grain which, after its acquisition of Milner Milling Co., morphed into AGrowStar, a grain business with operations across Georgia and South Carolina. His supporters cite his business operations as proof that he’s qualified to lead the USDA. They fail to mention the role chemical fertilizers play in water pollution and global warming [I reject that latter connection], much less the cost to farmers of relying on synthetic inputs…”

“Perdue has no qualms about taking government handouts. Environmental Working Group (EWG) reports that between 1995 and 2014, he cashed in on $278,679 in taxpayer-funded subsidies for his various businesses. Will he be open to overhauling the current system which doles out $25 billion/year in subsidies (paid out mostly to large producers, not small farmers) for commodity crops, like wheat, GMO corn, GMO cotton and GMO soy?”

“At a 2003 meeting organized by his wife (then first lady of Georgia) and sponsored by Coca-Cola and Chick-fil-A, Perdue praised the soda giant for its ‘its continued effort to grow its business presence and invest in Georgia, as the Company prepares to open a $100 million plus expansion to its Atlanta production facilities’.”

“Before his nomination, Perdue served on Trump’s ag advisory committee whose talking points, as reported on November 15, by Politico, ‘offer a roadmap on how President-Elect Donald Trump’s agriculture secretary could shape agricultural policies, including the sweeping promise to “defend American agriculture against its critics,”’. Of course, what the committee means by ‘American’ agriculture is industrial factory farm and GMO commodity agriculture. And we all know who the committee sees as its critics—that would be us and a host of other groups that advocate for healthy food and a clean environment.”

“…in 2009, Perdue signed a bill that blocked local communities in Georgia from regulating animal cruelty, worker safety and pollution related to factory farms. That’s hardly ‘looking out’ for the little guy.”

—No need to read between the lines. Perdue will be Big Ag’s man in Washington.

But just in case you think he’ll reverse all the wonderful farm policies promoted by Obama, read on. Obama was nothing less than Monsanto’s man in the Oval Office. Here is my piece, from 2013:

After his victory in the 2008 election, Obama filled key posts with Monsanto people, in federal agencies that wield tremendous force in food issues, the USDA and the FDA:

At the USDA, as the director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, Roger Beachy, former director of the Monsanto Danforth Center.

As deputy commissioner of the FDA, the new food-safety-issues czar, the infamous Michael Taylor, former vice-president for public policy for Monsanto. Taylor had been instrumental in getting approval for Monsanto’s genetically engineered bovine growth hormone.

As commissioner of the USDA, Iowa governor, Tom Vilsack. Vilsack had set up a national group, the Governors’ Biotechnology Partnership, and had been given a Governor of the Year Award by the Biotechnology Industry Organization, whose members include Monsanto.

As the new Agriculture Trade Representative, who would push GMOs for export, Islam Siddiqui, a former Monsanto lobbyist.

As the new counsel for the USDA, Ramona Romero, who had been corporate counsel for another biotech giant, DuPont.

As the new head of the USAID, Rajiv Shah, who had previously worked in key positions for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a major funder of GMO agriculture research.

We should also remember that Obama’s secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, once worked for the Rose law firm. That firm was counsel to Monsanto.

Obama nominated Elena Kagan to the US Supreme Court. Kagan, as federal solicitor general, had previously argued for Monsanto in the Monsanto v. Geertson seed case before the Supreme Court.

The deck was stacked. Obama hadn’t simply made honest mistakes. Obama hadn’t just failed to exercise proper oversight in selecting appointees. He was staking out territory on behalf of Monsanto and other GMO corporate giants.

And now let us look at what key Obama appointees have wrought for their true bosses. Let’s see what GMO crops have walked through the open door of the Obama presidency.

* Monsanto GMO alfalfa.

* Monsanto GMO sugar beets.

* Monsanto GMO Bt soybean.

* Coming soon: Monsanto’s GMO sweet corn.

* Syngenta GMO corn for ethanol.

* Syngenta GMO stacked corn.

* Pioneer GMO soybean.

* Syngenta GMO Bt cotton.

* Bayer GMO cotton.

* ATryn, an anti-clotting agent from the milk of transgenic goats.

* A GMO papaya strain.

* And soon, genetically engineered salmon and apples.

This is an extraordinary parade.

Obama was, all along, a stealth operative on behalf of Monsanto, biotech, GMOs, and corporate control of the future of agriculture.

He didn’t make that many key political appointments and allow that many new GMO crops to enter the food chain through a lack of oversight.

Nor is it coincidental that two of the Obama’s biggest supporters, Bill Gates and George Soros, purchased 900,000 and 500,000 shares of Monsanto, respectively, in 2010.

Obama, while on the campaign trail in 2008, was promising transparency in government, was claiming that every person has the right to know what’s in his food (GMO labeling). But clearly, that was all cover and fluff. He was lying through his teeth and he knew it. He hasn’t changed. He’s been a covert agent since the beginning.

Imposter. Charlatan. These words fit Obama. He doesn’t care that GMO food is taking over the country and the world. He wants it to happen. He’s always wanted it to happen.

Obama, Monsanto, DuPont, and Dow, among others, are prepared to do whatever is necessary to make GMO food and their attendant pesticides dominate America and, through exports, the world.

—Whether Trump has his eyes open or closed, he’s walking down the same path. His meetings with small farmers, and his pledge to protect clean water and air, were so much fluff.

Theoretically, he has time to reverse course, but don’t bet on it, don’t hold your breath—unless you’re living in an area downwind from a corporate factory farm, where the air is full of gently wafting toxic pesticides and GMOs.

Mass resignations at State Dept., funding cut to UN; it’s a start

Mass resignations at State Dept., funding cut to UN; it’s a start

by Jon Rappoport

January 31, 2017

When people become enmeshed in large complex structures, they believe those systems are absolutely essential; survival itself is at stake.

They are frequently wrong.

For example, the US State Department and the United Nations could vanish tomorrow, and after a few years no one would notice the difference.

Except of course, the hand-wringing Globalist media, who would howl and shriek and predict doom for all humankind.

The Trump administration is talking about making significant cuts to UN funding. And about 15 in-house “experts” who manage the State Dept. bureaucracy have resigned en masse.

It’s too bad. I mean it’s too bad the Trump administration isn’t going to cut all funding to the UN, and it’s too bad the entire State Department hasn’t quit. Then we’d be getting somewhere.

Instead of the UN, we could have one small apartment building in New York where countries might send representatives to live. These people, of course, would pay their own rent. They would chat, play cards, sit in community rooms, and have drinks. They could pass a few scribbled notes back and forth. No sumptuous assembly hall, no voluminous charter, no bad art celebrating “the unity of all peoples.” Instead, ping pong tournaments and air hockey.

If the US government had listened to George Washington, when he urged avoiding entangling foreign alliances, the US would have followed a far different course of development at home; and permanent relations with other governments would have been laughed out of court.

Who knows? With a clearer focus on domestic issues, the US might have remained a Republic, instead of devolving into a democracy, a venal form of corporatism, an Empire, and a universal Welfare State.

Permanent foreign diplomacy, with all its bizarre accoutrements, would never have entered the scene.

A proper global charter would read, “Don’t bother us and we won’t bother you.” End of story.

If the people of various nations didn’t like their governments, they could rebel, revolt. Same here.

The “unity of everyone” is a straight con. The idea would never have gained traction, unless international entanglements, with all their attendant crimes, had come first. As in: “Hey, I’ve got a great idea. Let’s get a few of the boys together, incite a war, fund both sides, make a huge profit, and then, in the aftermath of the smoking ruins, preach togetherness like it came down from heaven, and cobble together new alliances. Then we can start the whole process over again.”

It’s called treason. A capital offense.

By the way, the land where the UN Headquarters in New York sits was originally donated by John D Rockefeller, which should give you some clue about the organization’s agenda. One planet, indivisible, with an absurd pretension of liberty and justice for all. Or to put it another way, endless entangling alliances.

“Let’s wrap everyone on Earth in coils and knots and tendrils up to their eyeballs and call it Love.”

The Matrix Revealed

(To read about Jon’s mega-collection, The Matrix Revealed, click here.)

For those who can’t imagine good reasons for dismantling all sorts of titanic bureaucracies, for those who believe these behemoths are indispensable, try a small-scale analogy: one day you wake up and find a dozen strangers occupying spaces in your house. They all claim to be experts, and they all have solutions to problems concerning the home—problems you never knew existed. Their solutions require a council and endless discussions and reports—and this is for “the greater good.” Your relationship with these strangers seems to be imperative, because, well, they are there.

Your ownership of the house is obviously now in question. You’re not in charge. You can participate in the decision-making, but as the days pass, you realize you’re being edged out. You’re not an expert in “home management.” Therefore, your opinions are put on the back-burner.

And everything goes downhill from there.

But don’t worry. The overarching goal of the strangers is “unity,” and unity must be a good thing. It sounds like a good thing.

—Except for the fact that you never needed it until they showed up.

Finally, one day, you wake up with a brilliant idea:

“I’ll kick them out.”

Robert F Kennedy Jr: “The best thing that could happen to the environment is free-market capitalism.”

Robert F Kennedy Jr: “The best thing that could happen to the environment is free-market capitalism.”

by Jon Rappoport

January 30, 2017

As I was looking into what Trump will do and won’t do to preserve what’s left of the American environment, I read Robert F Kennedy Jr’s book, Crimes Against Nature.

The book not only details wholesale destruction by pollution, it offers a foundation for understanding corporate crimes.

Kennedy keeps it simple. He proclaims himself a champion of the free market—which comes as a shock, until you realize what his addendum is:

CORPORATIONS SHOULD ABSORB THE FULL COST OF MANUFACTURING THEIR PRODUCTS.

AND THAT COST INCLUDES THE HARM THEIR PRODUCTS CAUSE.

For example, if Smithfield’s giant pig farm-factories allow highly toxic open-air feces lagoons to sit in the sun and spread into the soil for miles, they should have to build sewage treatment plants at those sites to process all the waste before it escapes.

“To handle all that [pig-farm feces] waste, farmers in North Carolina use a standard practice called the lagoon and spray field system. They flush feces and urine from barns into open-air pits called lagoons, which turn the color of Pepto-Bismol when pink-colored bacteria colonize the waste. To keep the lagoons from overflowing, farmers spray liquid manure on their fields nearby. The result, says Steve Wing, an epidemiologist at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is this: ‘The eastern part of North Carolina is covered with shit’.” —National Geographic, 10/30/14

Here is what Robert F Kennedy Jr. told radio interviewer, Rachel Lewis Hilburn on 6/3/16: “…a hog produces ten times the amount of fecal waste by weight as a human being, so if you have a facility that has ten thousand hogs in it, it’s producing as much sewage as a city of a hundred thousand people. Smithfield has one plant in Utah—they call it Circle Four Farms—that has a million hogs on it, so it’s producing the same amount of waste as New York City every day.”

Get it? If a corporation releases toxic excrement across the land, part of the cost of making their product (pork, bacon, sausages) is cleaning up the land. (For more on the ‘pig-farm feces’ story, click here.)

This dictum doesn’t exonerate companies from criminal prosecution, but it forces them to understand a clearer concept of the marketplace.

Pollution becomes an element of making a product. It isn’t a “mistake” whose remedy is forever fought over after the fact.

The free market is maintained. But it doesn’t absolve corporations from paying their full rightful cost.

This would redefine what it means for a company to price its products.

“Well, if we have to pay for killing a billion fish and erasing commercial fisheries, what will we sell our electric motors for? Looks like it’ll be fifty times what we’ve been charging for them. I guess we should rethink our business model…”

Of course, offering this revised notion of the free market doesn’t mean that any major corporation will accept it. But it does create a starting point for activism that doesn’t just hand over the whole issue of pollution to the government—which leads to extremism on the other side. Kennedy isn’t saying that. I am. The government wants to make thousands of rules when they have the green light to do so; and many of the rules are inhibiting and insane for businesses.

What Kennedy is proposing isn’t perfect by any means, and he knows it. There would be inherent conflicts and battles all the way along the line. But it’s a start, as I say, and it clarifies what “free market” means.

The finished product a company makes, and the cancer and brain damage and genetic disruption that ensues, are not two separate events. The second is part and parcel of the first.

Kennedy is the head of an organization called Riverkeeper, dedicated to protecting the Hudson River. He describes journeying up the River and talking with many people whose businesses and homes and families were impacted by the gross pollution in the River. Some of these people weren’t interested in “environmentalism” at all. But they responded and joined Kennedy’s fight because their livelihoods and home values and health were on the line. On an intensely personal level, they understood his stance on the free market.

Kennedy: “What polluters do is escape the discipline of the free market. You show me a polluter, I’ll show you a subsidy — a fat cat who’s using political clout to escape the discipline of the free market.”

I’m not encouraged by what I see so far in the Trump administration’s approach to the quality of the land, sea, and air. His nominee for head of the EPA, Scott Pruitt, appears to be a front man for polluting interests. In a previous article, My Position on Donald Trump, I wrote: “I think Trump favors jobs, all jobs, and will go to extremes to create them…He’ll cast a blind eye toward big corporate toxic GMOs/pesticides. He’ll overlook and ignore major areas of agricultural and industrial pollution, and permit them to expand.”

I still believe that, until and unless Trump proves it isn’t true.

He has stated he wants pure water and pure air. Let’s see some evidence of that. If he turns out to be a “know-nothing” with a hands-off agenda, we would be in danger of witnessing the reincarnation of George W Bush re the environment—an unmitigated disaster.

power outside the matrix

(To read about Jon’s collection, Power Outside The Matrix, click here.)

Even if you believe the business of America is unfettered business—and you welcome and embrace that ideal—talk to a few families who have been on the receiving end of serious pollution, and then consider how the free market should work.

Holding high-level criminals accountable doesn’t have to equal being swallowed up by socialism.

It’s actually a step on the road to restoring the root meaning of capitalism—absent the cronies and their deals and payoffs and subversions and perversions.

Or, if you’re still a hardliner who thinks any kind of environmentalism is a blow against the spirit of America, put on wading boots and walk into the middle of one of Smithfield’s huge, chemical-laden, pig-feces lagoons on a summer afternoon, at one of their facilities where they harvest a million pigs. Fire off a fervent salute to Smithfield and the Republic for which it stands.

As you try to stay upright, as inflammation invades your lungs, summon up a vision of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson and John Adams and Thomas Paine saluting with you and proclaiming that this is what they had in mind, when they helped launch a new nation birthed in freedom on this continent.

See if you can make that work.

Trump’s idea-man Steve Bannon X-rays NY Times’ skull: empty

by Jon Rappoport

January 29, 2017

A few days ago, the NY Times interviewed Trump’s special counselor, Steve Bannon. Bannon wasted no time:

“The media should be embarrassed and humiliated and keep its mouth shut and just listen for awhile.”

“The media here is the opposition party. They don’t understand this country. They still do not understand why Donald Trump is the president of the United States.”

“The elite media got it [their election prediction] dead wrong, 100 percent dead wrong…a humiliating defeat that they will never wash away, that will always be there.”

“The mainstream media has not fired or terminated anyone associated with following our [Trump] campaign. Look at the Twitter feeds of those people [reporters]: they were outright activists of the Clinton campaign.”

“That’s why you [the NY Times and other press outlets] have no power. You were humiliated.”

The Times asked Bannon if he thought Sean Spicer, Trump’s new press secretary, had “lost credibility with the media.”

Bannon said: “Are you kidding me? We think that’s a badge of honor… The media has zero integrity, zero intelligence, and no hard work. You’re the opposition party. Not the Democratic Party. You’re the opposition party. The media’s the opposition party.”

The Times thought they were being clever by getting Bannon’s quotes “on the record.” They knew he would attack the press, and they knew their loyal readers would tsk-tsk and shake their heads as they sipped their morning coffees. O dear, o my, who is this wild man Bannon lashing out at our beloved newspaper?

Bannon knows the game. He understands the Times and the Washington Post, and the rest of the media echo-chamber that bounces agreed-upon stories among themselves. That’s what they did during the presidential campaign, and despite their best efforts, Globalist queen, Hillary Clinton, hit the skids and ended up back in Chappaqua, the Oval Office forever out of her reach. Cry for her, America.

Bannon is right. The media is the opposition party. They oppose the people’s right to know, on hundreds of major stories, and whether you love or hate Donald Trump, the media are criminal rogues in a long-running stage play.

The media believe an election campaign is an event they own. It’s their property. They can twist it any which way.

If something can be printed on page one and put on the nightly news, the media claim ownership. This is why ABC is asserting that their recent interview with Trump cannot be aired by ANYONE after February 1. ABC owns history. They can erase it. (See here and here. Oh, and for good measure, see here.)

Sound familiar? It’s straight out of Orwell’s 1984.

And hold on: since Trump’s election, Orwell’s novel has jumped to number one on Amazon’s list of best sellers. Number one. Its publisher, Penguin, has ordered a new print run of 75,000 to keep up with the demand. 47,000 copies have been sold since Trump won the election.

My God, the basket of deplorables can read.

Something’s happening, Mr. NY Times, and you don’t know what it is.

You’re clueless. You’re outflanked. You’re throwing power-puff punches in the dark.

What’s your next move? An interview with Beelzebub, who says he voted for Trump?

My guess is you’ve got a team down in Mexico right now, talking to your principal investor, billionaire Carlos Slim, begging him for more money to refinance the refinance of your debt, so you can keep paddling along in your vast sea of red ink.

Meanwhile, more and more people will be reading Orwell’s 1984 and identifying you as the Ministry of Truth.

Even readers from Hillary’s camp, taken in by your claim that fake news brought her down, will discover, when they read 1984, that the prime number one faker is the State media apparatus, not 50,000 independent outlets.

You, the NY Times, have been THE State media apparatus for a long, long time.

A key clue to Trump’s presidency: American Empire

A key clue to Trump’s presidency: American Empire

by Jon Rappoport

January 23, 2017

That clue is embedded in a statement Trump made in his inaugural address:

“We will seek friendship and goodwill with the nations of the world… We do not seek to impose our way of life on anyone, but rather to let it shine as an example for everyone to follow.”

Is Trump absolutely serious?

Does he intend, in this respect, to follow in the footsteps of Ron Paul, who helped pave the way for Trump’s success by impacting millions of Americans on the subject (among others) of American Empire and foreign conquest?

Does Trump intend to “stay at home” and abandon the long-standing policy of making war and policing the planet and toppling regimes and using the CIA to create frontiers for US corporations?

Does he intend to go up against the military-industrial complex?

Will he try to sideline slimy neocons?

In his inaugural address, Trump also said this:

“We will reinforce old alliances and form new ones — and unite the civilized world against radical Islamic terrorism, which we will eradicate completely from the face of the Earth.”

Warning: Depending on how he prosecutes that campaign, wiping out terrorism could continue to function as a cover for foreign wars launched with more traditional goals: destabilize governments and install leaders who will bend to America’s will; extend American Empire; assume the role of international policeman.

In other words, the eradication of terrorism could reinstall every motive and intent Trump says he wants to take away.

Will he dare to keep America’s overall war machine at home?

Trump should understand that, if he does indeed intend to keep this promise, untold numbers of people all over the world will rally to his cause.

And if he doesn’t, the enormous blowback won’t merely affect him; it will keep America in the same horrific bind it’s been in for a long, long time: war is money; war floats a basically bereft economy; war destroys lives; war kills hope; war keeps putting the lie to “America, the bastion of freedom for every person on Earth”; war serves the Globalist operation to invent a need for one planetary management system; war makes the rich richer and the poor poorer; war harnesses the worst impulses of soul, mind, and body, when it is launched on false pretenses.

After all, look at Hillary Clinton, warmonger par excellence. Look at what it has done to her and her followers. They can’t tell up from down.

Many times during the campaign, and since his election, Trump has said he’ll stop the insane wars of American Empire. No American president, going back as least as far as Kennedy, has made such a statement with any emphasis.

I’m not sure the American people understand what Trump is claiming he’ll accomplish here.

Given our government and its domestic partners, given the military-industrial complex, this claim is astonishing.

Does he really mean it?

Because, if he does, this is a revolution.

And therefore, we should be paying close attention. Very close attention.

Yes, we should looking at some of Trump’s appointments with a jaundiced eye. Of course. But beyond those men and their potential hidden motives, we have to look at Trump himself and what he does.

In particular, I urge the supporters of Ron Paul, who made his critique of American Empire and foreign wars crystal clear, to keep their eyes open. Those supporters, many of them, were fully aware of what Paul was saying and how revolutionary it was. For that reason, among others, they came to his side. Now they need to be watchdogs on the Trump presidency.

As I’ve written before, the movement that formed around Trump is more important than the man. I’m talking about the people who stand for both freedom and honor.

Is it possible these people have made a grave mistake? In politics, that’s always a risk. But it is no crime to want the right thing and judge that there might be a candidate who wants the right thing, too. In other words, it’s not shameful to be wrong—as long as those supporters refuse to dream about phony rainbows, as long as they hold up the standard of freedom and honor to their candidate and use it to demand that promises be kept.

We’re past the point of needing to be fooled. Way past that point.

The current president of the United States has taken a de facto oath to reverse the course of Empire.

This is the oath we have been wanting to hear for a long time.

The Matrix Revealed

(To read about Jon’s mega-collection, The Matrix Revealed, click here.)

We know all about the short con and the long con and every kind of political con. We’re well prepared in that respect. Now we want to see proof.

Not merely a few symbolic gestures.

Great energy surrounds the person who promises the honorable thing; especially when he wins.

Especially when he is not alone.

Especially when he reflects the thing fervently wished for.

Is Trump crazy enough to go up against the entire establishment and the Deep State?

“Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty; power is ever stealing from the many to the few.”

Let us be vigilant.

See something, say something.

And in the meantime, in every way possible, demand the end of Empire. Let that demand come in from every place on Earth.
