Obamacare: watch out, here comes “predictive modeling”

Modeling or programming?

A Medai.com article, “Why is Predictive Modeling Essential to Healthcare?” offers this quote:

“…the algorithms of predictive modeling can analyze hundreds of data points to make a diagnosis or a prediction of risk.”

This is the new thing in American medicine, and everyone is climbing onboard. The idea is to combine diverse sets of data, to diagnose a patient—and also predict what illnesses will strike designated sectors of the population by identifying what social, economic, gender, and behavioral groups they belong to.

“Oh, yes, in USA population sector A-2ab, we can view the electronic health records of 10,000 patients who are single, under 30, live at home with their parents, have a history of ignoring medical advice, display symptoms of ADHD, graduated college with less than a 3.0 grade average, have taken prescription pain meds within the last five years…according to statistics, this group stands a better than 65% chance of developing clinical depression within the next 6.23 years. Therefore, we should prescribe them prophylactic antidepressants now, to save money on more expensive treatments later. If we utilize our algorithm and adjust code 4aQ1 and code 7B2Ex, we’ll be able to pinpoint which patients in this group need medication immediately…”

This is coming. The structure is being built now, across all medical and insurance organizations.

The hubris involved is outstanding, to say nothing of the intrusion on privacy, and the recent abysmal track record of government merely trying to sign people up for Obamacare.

Of course, the proponents of prediction are promising better patient outcomes, enormous $$ savings, and a Brave New World in which “at-risk” groups can be spared suffering before it occurs.

Managed Care has published an article, “More Data in Health Care Will Enable Predictive Modeling Advances.”

Here are two key quotes:

“Predictive modeling (PM) has grown to be a linchpin of care management. Health plans, integrated delivery systems, and other health care organizations (HCOs) increasingly channel their patients to interventions based in part on what they deduce from predictive models that have traditionally been run against databases of administrative claims. In this arena, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) [Obamacare] is likely to exert a profound effect.”

“…a growing number of health care experts, including the Care Continuum Alliance, see predictive modeling as an opportunity to prevent [disease] complications, control [hospital] readmissions, generate more precise diagnoses and treatments, predict risk, and control costs for a more diverse array of population segments than previously attempted.”

I could attack this gobbledegook PR in a number of ways, but I’ll cut to the real bottom line. The entirety of predictive modeling rests on the assumption that, in making disease and mental-disorder diagnoses, doctors are basically working from a correct playbook. Otherwise, they could massage data ‘til the cows come home and they would commit disastrous blunder after blunder.

But the basic playbook is not correct. For all 300 officially certified mental disorders, there are, in fact, no defining physical tests for diagnosis. None. No blood tests, no urine tests, no brain scans, no genetic assays.

For germ-caused diseases, the “tried and true” diagnostic tests are completely misleading. The antibody tests are frequently false-positive, and the presence of antibodies, in the first place, merely indicates that the patient has contacted the germ in question. It says nothing about present or future illness. In fact, a positive antibody test often means the opposite of illness: the patient’s immune system has contacted the germ and thrown it off.

The PCR diagnostic test takes a tiny, tiny amount of what is purported to be genetic material from a germ, and amplifies it many times so it can be observed. But the hallmark of illness, when germs may be involved at all, is: you have millions of a particular bacteria or virus being very active—in which case, you didn’t need the PCR test in the first place. You needed the PCR because you couldn’t find enough germ material in the patient to knock over a fly.

So…place these irrelevant and misleading diagnostic tests into the predictive modeling framework, and what do you get? False predictions.

Then there are the medical drugs. I’ve cited the Starfield Review many times. July 26, 2000, Journal of the American Medical Association, “Is US Health Really the Best in the World?” Dr. Barbara Starfield, from the Johns Hopkins of School of Public Health, pointed out that, every year in the US, FDA approved medicines kill 106,000 people. In our 2009 interview, Starfield told me this was a conservative estimate.

This is tragedy and murder on a massive scale, supported by what have to be deceitfully glowing studies done on the drugs and routinely published in leading medical journals.

No one in his right mind would believe that all this lying and crime, embedded in a new and advanced predictive model, would produce anything except expanded disaster.

With the bonus that you lose your medical privacy, and you are observed and data-mined in other ways—as a “unit” that belongs to various groups. And oh yes, you get toxic drugs before you’re sick. It’s predictive. Hail to the Chief.

Up the line, proponents of traditional/ natural health, nutritional supplements, and “alternative practices” will discover that, as independent humans, they’re anomalies. The official algorithms don’t include what they do to maintain health. Therefore, they’re outliers.

“Sorry, we can’t model you in our predictions. You don’t compute. You’re illegal. Oh, wait. You do fit into one category: Threat. Potential Danger to the State.”

China protects its massive Army from GMOs

Worldwide sentiment is shifting against Monsanto and GMO food crops. And China is making major moves.

At sustainablepulse.com, we have this May 14, 2014, article: “Chinese Army Bans All GMO Grains and Oil from Supply Stations”:

“The Chinese army has ordered all military supply stations to only allow the purchase of non-GMO grain and food oil due to health safety concerns over GMOs.

“This move by the Chinese army is being seen as yet another step towards the Chinese government’s expected ban on the import of all GMO grains and oilseeds within the next 2 years, due to growing public concern over GMOs. The expected ban would be a huge blow to the Biotech industry worldwide.

“The Hubei Province Xiangyang City Grain Bureau’s website announced on May 6, 2014:

“’During recent years, as China’s grain and oil market has continuously developed, certain GMO grain and GMO food oil products have entered the market. In view that the safety concerns about GMO grain and oil products in China at present has not yet been determined, in order to overall assure the health of military members residing in our city and safety of their drinks and food, in accordance to the request from the Guangzhou Military Command Joint Logistics Department and the Provincial Military Grain & Food Oil Supply Center, from this date all military supply stations are allowed to only purchase non-GMO grain and food oil products from the designated processing enterprises. It is forbidden to supply GMO grain and food oil products to military units within their administration areas.

“’Chen I-wan, an Advisor to the Committee of Disaster History to the China Disaster Prevention Association has stated: “The army has established [an] excellent model for people of the whole nation: No GMO staple food and GMO food oil should enter the army food supply.”

China—protecting its Army from GMOs. And soon, perhaps the entire population of the country.

Apparently, Chinese GMO science differs from American GMO science, where a mere nod and a wink between the FDA and Monsanto, 20 years ago, launched a big Ag revolution that continues to contaminate US lands.

China, by the way, is home to 20% of the world’s population. “GMO-free China” has an interesting ring. Which domino will fall next? India, where 17% of the Earth’s people live, where farmers who have been duped and bankrupted by Monsanto, have been committing suicide in large numbers?

Then there is Russia. Putin recently declared, in reference to a possible ban on GMOs: “We need to properly construct our work so that it is not contrary to our obligations under the WTO. But even with this in mind, we nevertheless have legitimate methods and instruments to protect our own market, and above all citizens.”

Likewise, groups in Africa are pushing back against the US/Monsanto/Bill Gates plan to flood the continent with GMO crops.

In all these cases, world leaders outside the US are seeing the GMO sell-job as an attempt to extend American hegemony, through what amounts to an act of war.

Well, what else would you call artificial gene-contamination and poisoning by herbicides?

On December 4, 2061, a federal agent appeared at the home of John Q Jones, a writer living in Cincinnati.

He showed Jones a copy of the beginning of an article Jones had written on his computer.

This was the text:

At one time, all reality was imagination. You could be talking about tables and chairs, cars, factories, roads, engines, beds, computers…and you could also be talking about trees, bushes, deserts, rivers, animals.

From another angle, reality is the condition of being accustomed to something. There it is, and there it has been for a while.

Reality sets in like a meal after you’ve eaten it.

Reality is acceptance. It’s framework, context, territory inside which a person acquiesces. And makes do. And lives.

He enjoys that space, or doesn’t like it, or forgets it even exists.

When, eventually, he gives up the ghost (his body), he leaves, he goes away, and if he’s conscious, he says, “Well, I was living in that space, that reality.”

A painter who stands before a blank canvas is acutely aware of the space. He knows he can imagine and make anything happen on it. The forms, colors, shapes, energies, narratives can be continuous or discontinuous. They can come alive or lie there like a dead cat.

He can always be beginning or he can always be painting the last stroke. He can scrape away a section, paint over it, add, subtract, build borders or knock them apart.

Acceptance, familiarity, acquiescence? Why bother? It’s all new.

It’s a dream, or a dozen dreams colliding. The painter invents his own logic.

Ordinary reality fits and interlocks and evolves. It operates by laws. It entices devotees toward more discovery. It has one system of logic—and if you can’t learn it, you stumble. Badly.

But beyond that knowledge, imagination sits on a cliff or a thousand cliffs, waiting, ready to go, looking for a signal. It can remain there until the sun collapses and goes dark. But when the person with that dormant imagination decides it’s time, everything changes…

The federal agent said, “Mr. Jones, the NSA intercepted your work and sent a query to our office.”

“What kind of query,” Jones said.

“It’s called a 546 A. It means the capture system was unable to process your text. It made no sense.”

“And you’d like me to explain what these words mean?” Jones said. “I can’t. They explain themselves.”

“Yes, well, the disturbing aspect…you seem to be saying reality is only…temporary.”

“So?” Jones said. “What’s the problem?”

“People reading your document could become confused. They could fail to differentiate fact from fiction.”

“Happens all the time,” Jones said. “People don’t need my words to make that mistake.”

The agent stared at Jones.

“I’m not here to debate that, Mr. Jones,” he said. “I’m here to prevent the contagion of uncertainty. It’s against the law to defame reality, because we establish reality.”

“And who is we?” Jones said.

“The Department of Homeland Security. We secure the State. We can’t have people proposing something vague and unsettling that exists…beyond that.”

“So I’m a criminal?”

“Well,” the agent said, “with our help, you could become an ally. You could continue your work as one of us. We would give you slightly ‘edgy’ ideas to transmit under your name—and we would see where your words travel, who picks them up, who agrees with them, who is tempted to move beyond the consensus. You would be doing your country a service.”

“I would become an agent.”

“Yes. A valuable one.”

Jones said, “But you see, those words I wrote…they’re true. Reality is just a habit, an addiction. It’s useful, I don’t deny that. But it’s pernicious. It ultimately puts everybody to sleep. It makes people into loyal robots. I’m tired of that. I’ve lost my patience.”

“Would you prefer I arrest you and send you to a reeducation camp?” the agent said. “You’d learn that all the prophets and the messiahs have already come and delivered their messages, and it’s now our job to align our actions and thoughts with the greatest good for all.”

“As you define it.”

“As we define it.”

Jones nodded.

“Right now,” he said, “I’m only interested in one thing. Did you understand what I wrote, Agent? Forget what other people might think when they read my piece. Forget the effect it might have on them. Forget the general good. Forget all that proprietary meddling.”

“No, Mr. Jones. You misunderstand. I’m not me. There is no me. There is no you. There is only and always all of us. Together. And in that context, what you wrote is significant, because it could disturb the Field. What people might believe when they read what you wrote is of paramount importance. It’s the only important consideration.”

Jones laughed.

“This is very entertaining,” he said. “I have a little secret, Agent. You know what it is? I can see your imagination. Right here, right now. I can see it inside you. You’re busy trying to kill it. You’re rationalizing that act of murder—as futile as it is—on the basis of what’s necessary for Everybody.”

John Q Jones vanished.

The agent was in the room alone.

He felt the urge to scream.

He fought it and beat it down.

He looked around.

He started sweating.

He took out his gun.

He stood there for a long time.

Finally, he put the gun away and walked out of the room.

He walked out of the building on to the street.

He was in a city he had never seen before.

The street was crowded with strangers. Cars moved along slowly. On the side of a huge building, news images flashed and changed. Words crawled.

He struggled to understand the stories. He failed.

He heard a voice in his head:

“Agent, stay where you are. We’re coming to get you. You’re experiencing a transient episode. We’ll be there in under three minutes. Mr. Jones was a hologram. A plant. The enemy is playing tricks. We’re equipped to handle it. Don’t worry.”

The transmission ended.

The agent breathed in and out slowly. He waited.

He noticed he was standing outside an art gallery. He could see the paintings on the walls.

A woman was sitting at a desk. She looked up and saw him. She smiled.

She waved for him to come in.

He stood there, not knowing what to do.

Dr. William Frederick Koch, 1885-1967. Main treatment-medication for cancer and other diseases in humans and animals: Glyoxylide, a homeopathic, which Dr. Koch developed himself.

Sued twice by the FDA. 1943, 1946. Not guilty. Harassed and discredited by medical authorities. Koch left the US for good in 1950 and settled in Brazil.

Despite offers, he never made the formula for his medicine available to medical groups or drug companies, for fear they would change and pervert it.

Here is an excerpt from remarks read into the Congressional Record by US Senator William Lancer, on June 7, 1948. It not only reveals the scope of Koch’s work, it opens up a chapter of hidden history:

“Fortunately for Canadian farmers in the Province of British Columbia, the Minister of the Department of Agriculture possessed an open mind. This fact is saving cattle raisers into the millions of dollars annually. It is assuring them of better cows, steers, and beef than previously known.”

“Such ailments as Bang’s disease, Johne’s disease, and other fatal diseases that customarily make devastating demands upon dairy herds, are no longer fatal in British Columbia. Thanks to the integrity and foresight of Canadian physicians, veterinarians, and Government experts who recently completed a series of successful experiments with the Koch system for treating virulent diseases.”

“But, be it known as a further warning against trying to suppress truth, that farmers in various parts of the United States are rising up in indignation, demanding the right to enjoy the same advantages as their Canadian brethren, Cattle raisers in South American countries, notably Brazil, have for years demonstrated the validity of the Koch treatment.”

“’We the undersigned members of the Michigan State Legislature [25 legislators signed the petition] respectfully petition the Congress of the United States, through an appropriate committee to investigate the injunction imposed by a Federal Court on William Frederick Koch, Ph. D., M. D., a pioneer in the field of research and treatment of cancer, inasmuch a. [sic] recently discovered methods of treatment [that] confirm the research of Dr. Koch, with the end in view of requesting the Attorney General of the United States to have said injunction dis-missed, so that Dr. Koch can continue further research and practice in his field without restriction.’”

“Suffice to say that Michigan farmers are not letting their herds die while waiting for bureaucrats to lift an injunction that should never have been imposed. They are using Koch Therapy anyway thereby saving themselves and the public substantial sums of money in terms of cattle, beef, and dairy products.”

“One leading breeder told how the Koch Treatment had saved an especially good cow given up to die. He explained that it developed mastitis during lactation. A veterinary surgeon advised him to have the animal removed from the herd and slaughtered. There was danger of the infection spreading.”

“Instead, the Koch Treatment was applied. The action consisted of one dose of the therapeutic reagent being administered by hypodermic syringe under the skin of the neck. Recovery was instantaneous and within a week the cow’s milk was being sold to the creamery.”

“Testimonials like the following by Dr. Wahl could be multiplied to fill several large volumes: ‘Over a year ago, my sister was dying of lymphosarcoma, a disease which the profession regards as invariably fatal. The diagnosis was made by Dr. H. H. Penner, of Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa., on the basis of biopsy study No. 1171, May 1, 1946. The medical staff of Mercy Hospital bad previously made a diagnosis of lymphoscaroma or Hodgkin’s disease.

“’The case was far advanced at the time, my sister having been practically bedridden for 6 months because of weakness and recurrent infections. The mashes of lymphoid tissue did not have to be palpated; they stood out on the aides of her neck and in her axillae and groins like bunches of grapes mixed with walnuts.”

“…My sister was in the last stages and was said to have only a few weeks to live, according to the best knowledge on the subject. She recovered after one dose [of Dr. Koch’s Glyoxylide] in characteristic fashion.’”

“Comparisons are odious, but Dr. Koch has been described by authorities as ‘the world’s greatest living chemist’; ‘the discoverer of a new science which charts the future course of the medical profession’; ‘one who cannot be bought, coerced, or intimidated’; ‘a Christian gentleman of courage and distinctive attainments’; and ‘a man of amazing capacities.’”

“No one who knows him well and understands the humanitarian spirit that animates his every deed will deny that the foregoing descriptions apply.”

And here is an excerpt from another report, “Some Informal Remarks on the Treatment of Cancer,” which Dr. CW Allen, Professor of Medicine at Tulane University, presented to the Orleans Parish Medical Society, on April 27, 1925:

“Last October a patient of mine suffering from an inoperable cancer of the rectum asked my advice about the Koch treatment. I strongly advised him to have nothing to do with it, that it had been investigated and pronounced worthless, and that I regarded it as a fraud. He, however, was determined to go to Detroit and consult Dr. Koch. At that time he was emaciated, weighing less than a hundred pounds and was so weak that he had to be carried to the train on a stretcher. Two months later he returned to New Orleans weighting more than 130 pounds, and now weighs 170 and attends to business as usual though there is still some local evidence of his trouble.”

“I am frank to say that I was amazed at the wonderful improvement in this man. I then called on another patient here who was treated by Dr. Koch at the same time. After talking with these two afflicted persons I was deeply impressed, not only by their personal experience but also by statements concerning others with whom they came in contact while being treated.”

“A doctor friend whose wife was in a hopeless condition from carcinoma called on me to discuss the matter and as his wife was unable to travel we wired Dr. Koch and received a treatment. In a similar way I received a dose for a hopeless bladder case of Dr. Walther’s. With these treatments Dr. Koch sent some directions and information as to what would happen following its use. The results were so strikingly as he predicted that I became extremely interested.”

There are other cases, other case histories, other remarkable successes. Dr. Koch never claimed to be able to cure cancer in all instances. He was always working to improve the treatment. His departure from America was a direct result of harassment by government authorities. Their crimes, of course, went unpunished. They were “protecting the public,” if that phrase is taken to mean: guarding a monopoly, preventing cures, and killing patients.

The composition of human life

I’m going to give you the shorthand version of this. We’re looking at three tiers:

Consciousness.

Imagination.

Energy.

Consciousness deploys imagination, and imagination creates, among other things, energy.

This isn’t esoteric at all. It’s only strange to people who have shut themselves off from consciousness and imagination.

The world is embroiled in the third tier: energy. That’s where the great struggles are taking place. That’s where people are trying to find enough energy.

Physical energy, enough energy to get through the day, biological energy, energy to power their homes, their cars, their devices, energy in the form called money, and of course we have the question of energy to run societies and civilizations.

For most people, at every level there is a deficit of energy. They feel it, they know it, they experience it.

It drives people into passivity and cynicism and illness and even madness.

And yet, we have potential access to enough energy to operate the nations on this planet a million times over.

I’m talking about Frank Shuman and his original solar panels and engines, and Tesla, of course, whose papers were stolen by the FBI upon his death, and so-called cold fusion which has proven to be much more promising than the fake pundits and fake scientists would have you believe.

I’m talking about the Maine Passamaquoddy tidal energy project, which JFK promoted in vain for many years. As President he commissioned a report on it, and positive findings came in shortly before he was murdered. Passamaquoddy could be replicated all over the world, wherever there are coastal inlets with rapid shifting high and low tides.

I’m talking about small turbines in rivers all over the planet.

I’m certainly talking about healing, too, because freedom from disease immediately restores energy to people. So this means more (suppressed) technologies: Royal Rife, for example, and his cancer-killing frequencies. And these days, the remarkable work of Dr. Stan Burzynski in Texas—surviving despite grand jury after grand jury mounted against him.

The point is, the means exist to multiply the amount of energy available to every human by extraordinary degrees.

It is precisely this state of potential abundance that the cartels and monopolies of Earth continue to repress. That is their Job One.

They live for that job.

They hire untold numbers of propagandists to smear and defame sources of energy they don’t own.

And humans, after a while, stop believing that abundance for all is possible. To cast that belief aside is a crushing blow. On a personal level, it makes people sink into a helpless state. It colors their experience, their frame of reference, their outlook, their emotions.

They give in, they surrender, they accept. They even come to believe that surrender is an advanced spiritual state.

But what’s true is true. We do, in fact, have (suppressed) technologies that would, if unleashed, revolutionize this planetary civilization.

It isn’t some deep mystery. It’s all about who controls the future.

Look around you. Consider that every human you see is working to obtain more energy, in one way or another. It’s endless.

And consider how much would change if these repressed technologies were deployed.

I’ll be speaking at the Secret Space Program Conference 2014, in San Mateo, California, the weekend of June 28-29.

In the mid-1980s, I interviewed Ted Clark, who was the manager of NASA’s Galileo Science Data System for the Jupiter Probe.

Ted’s personal vision of the future included orbiting hotels and domed space colonies, each colony with its own evolving civilization. These “vessels” would travel enormous distances and eventually rendezvous, to compare notes on their histories.

“Now that’s a real space program,” Ted said.

We talked for a few hours, discussing high points in Western civilization (ancient Athens, the European Renaissance). For Ted, the present moment was another Renaissance, if we could but see it and use technology for the next great mission: space.

Full employment, Ted agreed, would be one of the benefits of his real space program.

Hello Jim. Just got back off the road. Wow. Arizona, the desert…huge dome rising up out of an oasis. Casino City. I didn’t have time to look the whole thing over. The band had six shows in two days.

So on the second day, the President arrives! They clear out the lobby of the hotel. What a scene. Anyway, a few hours later in the bar, I meet one of his Secret Service people, Porter, and he tells me he’s an android.

I thought he was playing with me, but then he showed me his brain for a few seconds. He can make his head go transparent. You just look inside.

The guy was very smooth in conversation. You couldn’t tell the difference. I asked him if his brain had a phone. I was just kidding around, but then he asked me if I wanted to make a call.

So I had him get in touch with that Asian doctor in Hong Kong, the guy we used when Bobby got sick on the tour a few years ago. The doc answered. I mean, I was talking to Porter’s head and reception was clear as a bell.

The doc and I chatted for a few minutes. Remember he had an electronic transmitter that broadcast the acupuncture frequencies right into the body? Well, he sent a burst through Porter into me. I could feel it. And Porter was cool. He just “got out of the way” and let it pass through him. Weird!

Porter and I had a few drinks. He told me he’s hooked up to three satellites plus a ground-based system, for redundancy. That’s how he gets all his orders.

His salary is in pleasure units. Every Friday, for a half-hour, they stimulate a center in his brain. At first, when he came from the lab, new-born, they had to make adjustments. The pleasure sensation took him into overload. But now he’s fine.

No muss, no fuss. He doesn’t have sex. That cuts out a whole lot of wasted time. They just give him the experience.

He filled me in on a new development. The President is supporting rights for androids. Not just a union, but some kind of declaration. There’s a hate-speech provision. A really bad slur against an android, you can face jail time.

Porter says he doesn’t care what people say about him, but get this. They’re going to reprogram all androids so they do care!

Porter told me he has this friend in Chicago. The guy loves him. He wants to live with Porter. It’s a sticky situation because of Porter’s job, but people at the National Institutes of Health are researching the relationship. I mean, they’re interested in the mechanics of human-android attachment. They want to develop algorithms that encourage the bond.

You can talk to Porter about anything. He’s hooked up to a big brain somewhere. It’s a library. We chatted about old movies, the Yankees and the Dodgers, and even my ex.

He accessed a file on her. She’s living in Atlanta now. Married a botany professor. They have a daughter. She’s off the booze. No DUIs in the past four years. There was some kind of cancer scare. She went into the hospital and they did a biopsy. The tumor was benign. So the next summer, as a celebration, her old man took her to the Greek islands. She ended up having a one-night stand with a sailor on a cruise. She and her hubby had a big blowout. But they smoothed things over. I guess he was a little slow on the draw. When they got home, he did some reprogramming and now he’s apparently a stud in the sack.

I learned from Porter that she called my mother last year. They talked about what it would take for us to reconcile. You know, as friends. My mother told her I was seeing Gloria, so that put an end to that. She and Gloria never got along.

This Porter dude. I mean, he lives an ideal life. No problems. He’s satisfied all the time. Could they make a human into an android? I asked him. Get this. He told me that’s the frontier of the research. If they work it out, you’ll be able to walk into a clinic, sign up, and receive a series of transplants. At first, it’ll only be for terminal patients. No way to save them, so shift them. They’ll come out healthy androids.

Speaking of which, Porter told me there’s an actress who’s about to come out. He wouldn’t say who, but she’s going to make an announcement. She’s an android. Porter says it’ll be a major step forward.

The studio that has her under contract is working out a deal with the White House. They want to coordinate the publicity.

So that started me thinking. Billy’s pretty serious about leaving the band. He hates the road. Suppose we got an android bass player to replace him? You know, at first we wouldn’t say anything. Then, after a while, we’d leak it. We’d get fantastic coverage. And people would see it as a novelty item. Of course we’d claim it’s all very normal. We’d defend our android against any attacks.

Porter said he’d help us, for the cause. Try to defray some of the expenses with a federal grant. The going rate for an android is somewhere around a million bucks.

I’m about to meet with Porter and one of his pals, who works for the CIA. We’ll brainstorm about the whole “human-machine” thing. How do we convince our fans that an android bass player isn’t just a high-grade sample machine, pre-programmed to play set lines?

I’m fairly confident that if we hit the android-rights thing hard, our audience will get on our side. You know, androids are alive, just like us. They have feelings. They deserve a place in the sun.

That PR guy in Washington, Sloane, we worked with last year, when Joe freaked out on meth and tried to burn down the bodega in Palm Springs? He’s a sharp cookie. I’m sure he’ll have some great ideas. Matter of fact, I’m going to turn Porter on to him. For the whole android political-movement thing.

Okay, gotta go. I really feel like the band is ready to take a step up. You should have been there for the San Francisco concert. It was a killer. The audience went nuts. We just need more people in the seats, and this new bass player could be the answer. Picture it. Up on stage, half-way through the first tune, he suddenly turns his brain transparent and everybody flips out…

PS Just got back from my meeting with Porter and his buddy. Turns out the buddy’s with DARPA, not CIA. From what I can gather, the CIA, DARPA, and NSA are taking the position that we’re all the same. There’s really no difference between humans and androids. The only distinction is in the kind of programming that runs the brain. The one roadblock to selling this to the public is a knotty little thing called freedom. So that idea has to be wiped out. Instead, it’s all about happiness and satisfaction, and that’s a matter of which algorithms you run on. Install one set of algorithms and you feel this way, install another set and you feel that way. It’s beautiful. I’m really getting excited about all this. I feel like I’m entering a new world. We’re on the cutting edge. The transgender business that’s so popular now? The DARPA guy told me that was just a preparatory step to soften people up for the main event: androidism. I have a feeling it’s connected to depopulation, because you can’t re-fit a billion humans as androids who live more or less indefinitely, without bringing on some serious overcrowding problems. But hey, what the hell do I know? I just want to play music and be happy. Find a good woman, get rich, and build my boat. Maybe this is why I’ve been so screwed up with relationships. All this time, I’ve been waiting for an android wife. And an android me. Think about it, man. How’d you like to wake up every morning with no worries, no problems? Do you know ANYBODY who’d refuse to opt in to a system like that?

Exit From the Matrix

What has been called The Matrix is a series of layers. These layers compose what we call Reality. Reality is not merely the consensus people accept in their daily lives. It is also a personal and individual conception of limits. It is a perception that these limits are somehow built into existence. But this is not true.

What I’ve done here is remove the lid on those perceived limits. This isn’t an intellectual undertaking. It’s a way to open up space and step on to a new road.

That road travels to more and more creative power, joy, and fulfillment.

During that great adventure, the individual experiences what has been labeled “paranormal” and “synchronistic” and “magical.” These words really don’t do us justice. They only hint at what we are and what we can do.

I put this collection together because it expresses, explains, and shows, in detail, how the individual can rediscover and reclaim his/her true power.

That process, that engagement, that life is beyond solving problems. Our problems, at the core, exist only because we have “misplaced an infinity.”

Snowden, Brian Williams: staged amateur night for suckers

You could call it a completely incompetent interview, but Brian Williams is supposed to be incompetent. That’s his job.

Don’t take a Snowden comment and drill down into it. Don’t connect dots. Don’t delve into Snowden’s history. Don’t ask serious questions about the NSA.

Just make the interview seem important. That’s all that counts. Give the impression that the interview is an Event.

When Snowden suddenly told Williams he was trained as a spy, he wasn’t just an analyst, when he said he’d worked under false names at false jobs he didn’t really have, for the CIA, NSA, and DIA…that’s a show-stopper.

Hold everything. “Really, Ed? What did you do? What kind of thing? You worked for the DIA? Never heard that before. When? Why haven’t you said you were a spy before? Why hasn’t Greenwald mentioned this? Does the New York Times know this? The Washington Post? When you took that last systems-analyst job for NSA in Hawaii, as a contractor for Booz Allen, you’d already been a deep-cover spy for NSA? What exactly was your job at NSA in Hawaii, Ed?”

And that’s just for starters.

Once you open up that subject, who knows where it might lead?

And how about this: “Okay, Ed, we’ve heard you took anywhere from 20,000 to 1.7 million NSA documents. What’s the real number? I’m asking this, in part, because at the rate those documents are being released, by your press friends, we’ll all be long dead before the full cache is made public.”

And then: “Let’s talk turkey here, Ed, about NSA internal security. This is the biggest, richest, most brilliant spy agency in the world. And yet we’re supposed to believe they overlooked one little thing in their structure: they just forgot to secure their own data. Oops. They just forgot. All these years. Therefore, as you’ve said on several occasions, any employee of the Agency with ordinary access could stroll in and steal the farm. Really? Is that what you’re selling?”

“As a follow-up, how did you take all those documents? We’ve heard the magic secret was: you had a thumb drive; other employees gave you their passwords; you were ‘special,’ so you had access to everything; you were doing systems checks. So what was it? How did you pull it off? You took so many documents from different categories of stored data. The NSA had no compartmentalization?”

“Early press reports cited your experience in Geneva working for the CIA as a crisis point in your odyssey. You learned that several CIA people there turned a Swiss banker. They got him drunk one night, encouraged him to drive home, he was arrested on the road, and these CIA guys rescued him from his problem. From that point on, they were able to get him to pass along confidential banking data to them. And this soured you on the CIA. This shocked you. Really? Are you serious? This upset you? You were working for the CIA. You knew what they do. The banker incident was nothing. This sounds like a made-up tale of an agent’s disillusionment with his own people—a piece of a legend.”

“Another thing that doesn’t add up: your time in Hong Kong. According to press reports, and Greenwald’s account, it was touch and go for you there. You’re in a hotel, you’re walking the streets, you’re meeting with Greenwald and Poitras…but during those few weeks the entire spying and surveillance apparatus of the US government just can’t find you. And they can’t cover the airport well enough, when you fly out of there, to snatch you up. All this is very fishy, Ed. Something else is going on here, Ed. What is it?”

“And oh yes. Your days in the military. You state you applied for a position in Special Forces, and during your preliminary training, you broke both legs and they let you go. I understand that Special Forces program involved taking tests for ‘vocational possibilities.’ I assume this would have let your superiors know you were a computer prodigy. Wouldn’t Special Forces have drooled to employ a prodigy? In which case, why did they let you go when you broke your legs? Did you need your legs to work on a computer?”

This is called digging. But of course, that isn’t Brian Williams’ job. He’s the All-American newsboy on a bike riding through a Disney neighborhood tossing papers on porches.

Digging in this way isn’t any mainstream reporter’s job. The official narrative won’t permit it. The sanitized Snowden story is only about: is he a patriot or a traitor?

Whereas, in real life, there are enough doubts and inconsistencies about Snowden and the NSA to wonder: was the whole thing, the whole deal, the whole theft of documents an op?

A planned operation?

For example, was Snowden still working for the CIA when CIA people GAVE him those NSA documents to walk off with? Was this part of a turf war between the CIA and the NSA? Was this the kind of spy Snowden was/is?

Did CIA people appeal to his patriotism to convince him that this op would be a noble enterprise?

Were these few CIA people patriots themselves, working off the books?

Was the theft of NSA documents part of a much larger plan to let the American people know they are being spied on, 24/7? To enforce the power and effectiveness of the Surveillance State? Because, when you think about it, the population needs to know they’re being spied on. That’s the biggest priority. Then they tailor their own thoughts and words and actions voluntarily. That’s what makes the Surveillance State work.

Of course, the American people don’t consider all these potential elements of the Snowden affair. (More on the various potential elements of the Snowden affair can be found here under the #Spygate heading on my blog (top right hand side link).)

Although they watch spy movies and television shows, they don’t believe, when push comes to shove, that intelligence operations have layers and false trails and cover stories and limited hangouts.

They don’t believe that deception can run that deep. They don’t stop to realize that all spies are trained to lie.

Lying convincingly is the number-one requisite for a spy. Lie to enemies, lie to friends, lie to the press, lie to other agencies of government.

If a spy doesn’t wake up every day thinking about what lies he’ll tell from breakfast to dinner, he’s a dud. A washout. A danger to himself and others.

Spies live in a labyrinth of deceit. It takes a certain kind of personality to thrive in that atmosphere.

Is Ed Snowden a spy?

Here’s a typical response to that question: “I don’t care what he is. The NSA documents are now out there in full view. That’s good. What difference does it make who Snowden is? Now we can have a public debate about the Surveillance State.”

Really? How is that “public debate” going? Have you seen any serious cutbacks in the power of the NSA? Has the limited-hangout discussion about whether Snowden is a hero or a traitor reined in the power of the NSA?

You never know what’s at the bottom of a story until you get there. There is always the chance you’ll discover something far more crippling to the powers-that-be than what’s on the surface, or what’s in the middle.

The surface of a desert might show you thousands of shards of pottery. Below that, you find a town. You keep going and you come to a lost city…

“The State, with all its people, all its bureaucracies, is working a kind of magic. It’s a desolate magic. It actively conjures up blank spaces and blank minds to convince people that Blank is the meaning of Normal. It’s a ceremony of emptiness. A ritual of nothing and nowhere. And then, out of the void, it brings into being a salvation Machine that will do the right thing. It hails the Machine that can only do the right thing.” — (The Magician Awakes, Jon Rappoport)

The State’s magic is by reduction. Reduce all live fertile thought and feeling, and keep reducing until you arrive at a tiny point of gray dead light. Then pass that light from hand to hand, until all the workers inside the fortress possess it and cherish it.

The State’s obsession is with systems. It dreams of building a Control Center and hooking the whole population up to it.

This is the triumph of the prosaic. This is non-personality at the apex of its performance.

If you have a bigger and bigger class of people who only do the protecting, you eventually have to think of everyone else as the enemy. That becomes a closed system. And the minds operating that system, the managers, have to color their thoughts with constant, invented, official paranoia. So you get television shows and movies that reflect this state of mind. Enemies everywhere. It’s a self-feeding cafeteria.

Society and civilization are based on a limited range of emotions, which is the glue that builds the consensus and holds things together. What is held together is a smaller and smaller space, in which people operate. They come to see this space as The Central Space. That’s a lie. It’s an illusion.

You isolate 15 emotions. You label them and you describe them. You claim this is the full human range. You see that, if people accept these 15 as ‘all there is,’ you can manipulate those 15, you can focus on them, you can play them like an orchestra. It becomes a game. You develop various strategies to make that music. The goal is control. But the whole program and its success rely on the underlying assumption that there is this limited range and that’s all there is. If people were experiencing 150 emotions on a regular basis, and you tried to manipulate them by focusing on 15, what would happen? You would fail.

Society has initiation rituals, which are designed to bring people into Organization and Function. The counter-initiation, which is supposed to act as the resistance, champions better organization and better function. The vapid soul of this “resistance,” called technocracy, is really the apotheosis of the ritual—mystical, God-from-the-machine, and humans as electronic receivers of vetted official data.

To make sure humans are, in fact, consenting to the meaning of official data, the Surveillance State is conjured up. This is a public works program. “A job for anyone who wants to spy.”

Priest-class magic was always about control. A pipeline to salvation was offered to the population. Now the magic is about merging with the Machine.

Ablutions: for that day, the human must undergo preparatory exercises, to cleanse his psyche of idiosyncrasy, to attain uniformity preceding the initiation.

To establish a clear channel, so he can receive.

So he can receive the direct opposite of a galvanizing creative life, so he can receive the downloaded zero of empty magic.
