Network: the last great film about The News

The official COVID narrative—more absurd with each passing day—is being transmitted on television. That is a cardinal fact.
The absurdity called TELEVISION NEWS was depicted in a giant of a film, NETWORK (1976)…
When a new epidemic is launched and promoted, despite the absence of good science and good evidence, it is jacked up on television screens. Images begin to flow:
An emergency medical vehicle on a street. EMT personnel, in hazmat suits, load a man strapped down to a stretcher, into the van. On another street, a man collapses on the sidewalk. We see a quarantined man sitting inside a huge plastic bubble on a third street. Cut to an airport lobby. Soldiers are patrolling the space among the crowds. Cut to a lab. Close-up of vials of liquid. Camera pulls back. Techs in light green scrubs are placing the vials into slots of a table-top machine. Auditorium—a man on a platform, wearing a doctor’s white coat, is pointing a wand at a large screen, on which a chart is displayed, for the audience. Back to the street. People are wearing face masks.
These images wash over the television viewer. Meanwhile, the anchor is imparting his prepared meaning: “The government today issued a ban on all travel into and out of the city…hundreds of plane flights have been cancelled. Scientists are rushing to develop a vaccine…”
The television audience has an IMPRESSION of knowing something. They’re in the flow, the flow of the news…they’re in the images…
—Network, the 1976 film written by Paddy Chayefsky, reveals what media kings would do if they unchained their basic instincts and galloped all the way into the madness of slash-and-burn Roman Circus.
The audience is jaded beyond recall. It needs new shocks to the system every day. The adrenaline must flow. The line between reporting the news and inventing it? Erase it. Celebrate the erasure. Watch ratings soar.
Why pretend anymore? Why spend countless hours preparing and broadcasting synthetic artificial news, as if it were real? Does the audience care about such niceties? The audience just wants action.
The film proceeds from these premises.
Arthur Jensen, head of the corporation that owns the Network, speaks to unhinged Network newsman, Howard Beale, who has revealed, on-air, a piece of the real planetary power structure in a few moments of sanity: “You have meddled with the primal forces of nature, Mr. Beale, and I won’t have it!! Is that clear?!… You are an old man who thinks in terms of nations and peoples. There are no nations. There are no peoples. There are no Russians. There are no Arabs. There are no third worlds. There is no West. There is only one holistic system of systems, one vast and immane, interwoven, interacting, multivariate, multinational dominion of dollars. Petro-dollars, electro-dollars, multi-dollars, reichmarks, rins, rubles, pounds, and shekels. It is the international system of currency which determines the totality of life on this planet. That is the natural order of things today. That is the atomic and subatomic and galactic structure of things today! And YOU have meddled with the primal forces of nature, and YOU WILL ATONE!”
Head of programming for the Network, Diana Christensen, shifts the whole news department over to the entertainment division.
Thus emerge new shows with soaring ratings: Howard Beale, [Religious] Prophet of the Air Waves; The Mao Tse-Tung Hour, in which a guerrilla group films itself carrying out armed bank robberies; and Sybil the Soothsayer, a Tarot reader.
Diana becomes the network’s new executive star.
There is no longer even a pretense of a need for news anchors to appear authoritative, objective, or rational.
Diana Christensen is unstoppable. She sees, with burning clarity, that audiences are bored to the point of exhaustion; they now require, as at the end of the Roman Empire, extreme entertainment. They want more violence, more insanity, out in the open. On television.
In promoting her kind of news division, she tells network executives:
“Look, we’ve got a bunch of
hobgoblin radicals called the
Ecumenical Liberation Army who
go around taking home movies
of themselves robbing banks.
Maybe they’ll take movies of
themselves kidnapping heiresses,
hijacking 747’s, bombing bridges,
We’d open each week’s segment
with that authentic footage,
hire a couple of writers to
write some story behind that
footage, and we’ve got
ourselves a series…
“Did you see the overnights on the
Network News? It has an 8 in New
York and a 9 in L.A. and a 27 share
in both cities. Last night, Howard
Beale went on the air [as a newscaster] and yelled
‘BULLSHIT’ for two minutes, and I
can tell you right now that tonight’s
show will get a 30 share at least.
I think we’ve lucked into something…
“I see Howard Beale as a latter-day
prophet, a magnificent messianic
figure, inveighing against the
hypocrisies of our times, a strip
Savonarola, Monday through Friday.
I tell you, Frank, that could just
go through the roof…Do you want to figure out
the revenues of a strip show that
sells for a hundred thousand bucks
a minute? One show like that could
pull this whole network right out
of the hole! Now, Frank, it’s being
handed to us on a plate; let’s not
Television in the “real world” isn’t all the way there yet, but it’s close.
In Network, Diana Christensen personifies the news. She is the electric, thrill-seeking, non-stop force that is terrified of silence.
She lives and feeds on adrenaline. So does the viewing public. Nothing else ultimately matters. Ratings are the top line and the bottom line. The individual and his thoughts are completely irrelevant.
Howard Beale, over the cliff, a news man screaming on-air about the insanity of the news, is perfectly acceptable, because the audience is simply responding to Beale’s inchoate outrage and their own. Nothing deeper is explored. What could have resulted in a true popular rebellion is short-circuited. Beale becomes a crazy loon, a novelty item. Yet one more distraction.
When, in a brief interlude of clarity, he begins telling his audience about the takeover of society by mega-corporations and mega-money, his show droops. Ratings collapse. Diana is no longer interested in him; she wants to sack him.
However, Arthur Jensen, the head of the corporation that owns the television network, wants to keep Beale on the air, as a messenger of the “galactic truth” about the beneficial integration of all human activity under the rubric of global money and global power. He converts Beale to his cause.
Diana sees only one way out of this ratings disaster: kill Beale; on-air; during his show. And so it is done.
Network also shows us the audience becoming actor, player, participant. The audience is jumping out of its skin to be recognized, courted, and adored as a mighty rolling force embodying no particular meaning.
Audience wants to be a star. Audience wants to BE news; audience wants its actions to be shown on television. That establishes its legitimacy. Nothing else is necessary.
Diana knows it, and she is more than willing to accommodate this frantic desire, if only her bosses will let her go all the way.
The best film ever made about television’s war on the population, Network stages only a few minutes of on-air television.
The rest of the film is dialogue and monologue about television. Thus you could say that, in this case, word defeats image. Which was scriptwriter Paddy Chayefsky’s intent.
Even when showing what happens on the TV screen, Network bursts forth with lines like these, from newsman Howard Beale, at the end of his rope, on-camera, speaking to his in-studio audience and millions of people in their homes:
“So, you listen to me. Listen to me! Television is not the truth. Television’s a god-damned amusement park. Television is a circus, a carnival, a traveling troupe of acrobats, storytellers, dancers, singers, jugglers, sideshow freaks, lion tamers, and football players. We’re in the boredom-killing business… We deal in illusions, man. None of it is true! But you people sit there day after day, night after night, all ages, colors, creeds. We’re all you know. You’re beginning to believe the illusions we’re spinning here. You’re beginning to think that the tube is reality and that your own lives are unreal. You do whatever the tube tells you. You dress like the tube, you eat like the tube, you raise your children like the tube. You even think like the tube. This is mass madness. You maniacs. In God’s name, you people are the real thing. We are the illusion.”
It is Beale’s language and the passion with which he delivers it that constitutes his dangerous weapon. Therefore, the Network transforms him into a cheap religious figure, whose audience slathers him with absurd adoration.
Television’s enemy is the word. Its currency is image.
Beale occasionally breaks through the image and defiles it. He cracks the egg. He stops the picture-flow. He brings back the sound and rhythm of spoken poetry. That is his true transgression against the medium that employs him.
The modern matrix has everything to do with how knowledge is acquired.
Television, in the main, does not attempt to impart knowledge. It strives to give the viewer the impression that he knows something. There is a difference.
The impression of knowing is a feeling, a conviction, a belief the viewer holds, after he has watched moving images on a screen and listened to a narrator. THIS is what the viewer prefers. He wants no part of knowledge.
A basic premise of modern age is: “everything is (connected to) everything.” This fits quite well with the experience of watching video flow.
Example: we see angry crowds on the street of a foreign city. Then young people on their cell phones sitting in an outdoor café. Then the marble lobby of a government building where men in suits are walking, standing in groups talking to each other. Then at night, rockets exploding in the sky. Then armored vehicles moving through a gate into the city. Then clouds of smoke on another street and people running, chased by police.
A flow of consecutive images. The sequence, obviously, has been assembled by a news editor, but the viewing audience isn’t aware of that. They’re watching the “interconnected” images and listening to a news anchor tell a story that colors (infects) every image: “This is revolution for democracy, created by the technology of cell phones…”
Viewers thus believe something. Television has imparted a sensation to them.
Therefore: a short circuit occurs in the mind.
When you export this pattern out to a whole society, you are talking about a dominant method through which “knowledge” is groped and held close.
“Did you see that fantastic video about the Iraq War? It showed that Saddam actually had bioweapons.”
“Really? How did they show that?”
“Well, I don’t remember. But watch it. You’ll see.”
And that’s another feature of the modern acquisition of “knowledge”: amnesia about details.
The viewer can’t recall key features of what he saw. Or if he can, he can’t describe them, because he was inside them, busy building up his impression of knowing something.
Narrative-visual-television story strips out and discards conceptual analysis. To the extent it exists, it’s wrapped around and inside the image and the narration.
Paddy Chayefsky made his pen a sword, because he was writing a movie about television, against television. He was pitting Word against Image.
When a technology (television) turns into a method of perception, reality is turned inside out. People watch TV through TV eyes.
Mind control is no longer something merely imposed from the outside. It is a matrix of a self-feeding, self-demanding loop.
Willing Devotees of the Image WANT images, food stamps of the programmed society.
The triumph of Network is that it makes its words win over pictures, IN a picture, IN a film.
A pandemic, the false pandemic I’ve been rejecting in many articles, is delivered through video flow and narration. Stacked and cut images.
There is no challenge to the flow in any basic way, through the intrusion of actual knowledge, because that would shut down the parade of images and nullify the reasons for broadcasting them in the first place.
The old theater adage, “the show must go on,” when adapted for television, becomes, “the flow must go on.” Once its course is set, there can be no turning back.

SCOVID (SCOundrels’ VIrtual Disease), no one can confront it. People have become experts in the symptons, and treatment for SCOVID.
It is like Prime Ministers, Presidents, Kings and Queens, Health Ministers, Judges, and doctors have spent their lifetimes learning about SCOVID and know every minute detail as to how the virus infects, and harms our health. They talk with all seriousness, make policy based on their knowledge, yet they are the biggest and most pathological clowns.
How does one escape this?. The mob on the other side is bigger, louder, and confident.
“Network” was,and is;… one of the best movies made about the reality of TV and the press. People should call it up….by the way…”Soylent Green” is another one people should be focused on……sad, but true!

I don’t know how to escape it either, I listen to family and friends and I am stunned. A friend of over 40 years classified me as an UNVACCINATED%@& hole, My daughter blames me with the un Vax trumpsters, killing all, and I didn’t vote. Have not since first time Obama. So what is coming out of mouths is pure insanity, I know I’m getting depressed, and have to fight it.
Hang in there. Lockdown here & bunch of 20 yr old girls in a flat? Hooked our daughter out to protect her health. Flatmates dobbed her in so police round to our house opening our door uninvited to charge her with *covid offences* kiddie stuff compared to what happening over the ditch in Australia. Countries in west like us building big gulags so future looks gloomy… but we bloody well going to win.
Ah yes, depressed here too, in Canada, Ontario where my children and grandchildren consume my fears and nightmares about the injections – they feel they have no choice because kids need school (I disagree if school means forced experimental medical treatments); my adult children need their jobs to pay bills and want to travel so they must submit to the experiment in order to have two important freedoms. But even with the shots, nobody gains lasting freedom…there will be more shots as services decline and as mere humans are erased or buried under the thumbs of globalist insanity.
Because I worked in the CBS Newsroom with Walter Cronkite people often ask me if Cronkite was biased like the fake news casters of today. Cronkite had an ethos that his credibility flowed from. Was he left leaning? Yes he was and most of the shaping of the news was left on the cutting room floor.
Cronkite would never invent news but he was susceptible to follow, somewhat, the sources of officialdom. For example, we now know that Tonkin Gulf incident was a false flag and nobody in the corporate media questioned it at the time.
We also know that President Kennedy was killed by a conspiracy. Dan Rather was reporting from Dallas and CBS did not bother to really investigate the official narrative.
Reporter Ike Pappas was standing next to Jack Ruby when he killed Oswald and yet they never questioned, on air, how Ruby got so close to Oswald at such a key moment [The moment of his transfer]. Was it really because he was a ‘friend’ of the cops who hung out at his strip club? Please, that was a tall tale which no one in the media should have accepted.
It’s not just big corps that are in this game of illusion. Did anyone see the story of the young woman who claims she got a Covid shot when she went in for a Flu shot? She claimed that she didn’t need the Covid shot because she is young and healthy. My question was so why did she need a flu shot? I think there’s plenty of internet people pulling our leg just like the corps do. She probably gets lots of hits and is paid for nonsensical stories like that one.
Very likely. The ruse would have a dual purpose. First, to make those who won’t take the vax think that it is only a matter of time until it is forced on them. Second, to get doctors, nurses, administrators comfortable about not giving a f*ck about what the patient thinks. In truth, the outcome is very uncertain for the vaxinators. Every day more of their narrative crumbles around them. And in truth, a large number of nurses are quitting or making videos because they are sick of living a lie.
I was taken by the recent 9/11 Corbett Report he did on its 20 year anniversary by 2 things. (Remember what we first believed coming through the TV and the ensuing? (TV/audience connection, hum)
His whole description of when he became aware of other facts that differed from the official story, he got involved, how the 9/11 truth movement came and really grew big but now is mostly no longer because of all of the arguing over the different views. Doing that, instead of Actually Doing what he mentioned in the 2nd thing.
Secondly, answers to the way out of not repeating what has happened with the 9/11 Truther Movement into this current False Flag they chose to call Covid, is in Jon’s Matrix Collections. No he didn’t say Jon’s Matrix Collections. But it is.
By arguing over their multiple intentional mind/behavioral control tactics, which is largely pumped through the television, ect, and then we the audience engage with these in real life to whatever degree, means we are engaging with their narrative to that degree. Hook, line and SINKER. By design, over and over and over. Individually, collectively. Sure, they are exposed and we are right but that doesn’t seem to stop them or us. Maybe it is a dance they can afford. That’s why I appreciate The Matrix Collections. It helps me with my short and long term goals as I learn to decentralize, think for myself and as Icke puts it, dont give my self-respect to these scumbags, that’s what they’re after. Win, lose or draw. But create with more and more of my own narrative. Not ever giving in, just to belong, whether it is something I want or something I do not want, like a toxic, dna altering injection from the Experts. That’s an interesting aspect The Collections are having on me. Im hardheaded but Im also fairly impressionable and The Collections continue to assist me from being everyone’s sucker, automatically, internally.

An overwhelming majority of humans simply cannot or will not question or resist the lure of the media circus unless they have decades of truth-seeking wisdom under their belts.
While our youth (so far) are educated – they are far too pliable, trusting, indoctrinated, and too many believe wholly in authority vs learning from and knowing about, how dangerous authorities will become when citizens no longer have the ability to fight with knowledge, opinion and questions.
We are seeing those rights being removed. Doing so is the only way the current covid mandates or the next controlling mandates will be able to exist.

Most people today no longer think in concepts. They think in conjured feelings and impressions. In fact, if you attempt to engage them in a logic-centered conversation, their minds will immediately shut down and they won’t hear you because their ‘mind’ doesn’t operate that way, and emotionally they don’t want to do this even if they could. They surf through life on a false ocean made of waves of conjured feelings and impressions, most of which that cannot stand up to any form of rational scrutiny.
It is like two people trying to converse in different languages with no points of commonality. There will be no real communication.
Newsman Howard Beale was, “Mad as hell!” and he wasn’t going to take it anymore.
Back then, he found many sympathetic viewers who joined him in screaming out their windows that they too were mad and weren’t going to take it anymore either.
But that won’t happen today. Beale would be considered abusive and needing to be erased and silenced because he ‘triggers’ people with his blunt, wrong-think talk. He further would be sidelined because he would simply be seen as an old white guy. And as we all know, the narrative today is that older white guys are the source of all the World’s problems and the answer is to erase and sideline them and replace them with today’s newly appointed favored sexes and non-white ethnic groups. If you doubt this, watch mainstream television for twenty minutes and you’ll see a stream of commercials with anything and anyone but older white guys.
It seems society cannot tolerate true equality of all people of all kinds. Our society seems to always have to have a favorite group or two with everyone else pushed further down the Social Totem Pole.
This is all part of creating a narrative and an impression in people’s minds to herd and corral society in a certain direction – today’s huge cattle pen of mindless submission to the dark wizard masters.

When people give up on real life, they turn to a substitute. A bad and empty substitute… but you have to have some kind of default program to live on. We turn the TV on… and in doing so we turn OURSELVES OFF.

I have been thinking a lot about this and find that most of the world is running on pure addiction — as can obviously seen with the fondle slabs.
Its not hard to see how addicted these people are…and I hate to use that term but its true. I am surrounded by addicts.
That cellphone technology now informs the new media online or on television.
What will Twitter think? and what does Facebook say?…
Most have their televisions plugged into the internet which now needs to mysteriously update your apps like Netflix and Disney and such every few days or so. And those are becoming obviously propagandist feeding into addictions.
We now binge on a new series or an old one…
With the algorithms plugging into what you are watching, you are now being ultimately isolated into a thought form that is streamlined for you. Designed just for you. An addict.
The point is to keep you watching so you waste your life away. And behave the way they need you too. Like an addict. Influencers influencing hundreds of thousands if not millions. keeping the addicted mind addicted to popular norm; hating Trump or following Greta, or vaccines and now ultimately the COVID bedtime story.
COVID is an addiction until they replace with something else…
They have been building this addiction scenario to vaccines since the eighties opened the market up to all kinds of vaccinations. and a free for all.
How many jabs do kids get now in their lives?
Nature, through the technocrats eyes — they have been taught it is dangerous and out to get them…creating viruses and germs to get them and kill them and make them sick and it must be controlled.
It is not so much that television turns into a method of perception; addicts only see the world in a specific way, and that is through their addiction. That image must be kept up constantly.
If they stop doing that we are in serious trouble and I have looked at that side and its very dark and troubling.
Im visiting daughter for a couple weeks. Granddaughter, 9, usually watches her shows until midnight. Last night they cut it to 10pm. (I tell them to just throw the tv out) But we were playing hangman and checkers and she didnt get her addiction and so she cried. Then she said PopPop can I listen to Jon Rappoport. Because she knows I do when I go to bed. I put it on The Magic and Mystery of Dialogue (wow), it is usually Desire, Manifestation, Fulfillment Tape 4 on Astro-local but she said, PopPop, I want to listen to the Guided Tours. Oh, Ok granddaughter, here’s my phone, goodnight.

Nice. The culprit for peoples’ apathetic ignorance is TV. The culprit is responsible for reducing masses into mindless jellyfish incapable of any kind of serious thought. They think they are thinking but they are not. Like voodooville says, they have become “experts” in everything.
Dostoyevsky wrote in The Idiot (Prince Myshkin “the idiot” is thinking)…

Because of TV, holly wood, schports etc, 99.999% of people in the USA are essentially voyeurs. They’ve been groomed to be voyeurs from the beginning of television and the spells (tv shows) placed on them by TV were highly effective. As anyone with a working brain can see.
It is my belief there is more to these shows than simply entertaining but a semiotic analysis is beyond the scope of my comment. As a sample, however, watch and listen for the numbers “23” and “93”. They are prevalent throughout the history of TV (Star Trek first season, Beatles movies to give examples). What they are is nods/winks to ‘real world’ counterparts of “Arthur Jensen.” The actual meanings of these numbers can be found in the writings of Aleister Crowley.
But the hidden spells and codes does not end with numbers. There are many occult signs. This has been going on since the 50’s.
Is it any wonder then why 99.999% are ostensibly intelligent but actually as stupid as a box of lint? Lint is smarter. Wow. Unbelievable yet here we are and THERE they are. Not only are they amnesiacs but paramnesiacs; they confuse people, times, dates, places in the ‘real world’ for what they seen on TV.
What they need is anamnesis; the remembering of who and what they are. This is more work than they are willing and capable of doing. Where does this leave the 0.001%?

Why did TV cast a spell on us?
Why can’t children play with fire? Because they will get charged with arson. Houses are conveniently built with synthetic materials, that they burn down in a few minutes.
Why can’t children walk the trails, splash in lakes and streams, climb rocks and trees? Because the parents will be charged with child endangerment. So the children play scripted games in parks with slides, swings, and other toys.
Why can’t children rest when they have a fever, and have some easily digestible food? Because after 3 days, the school will call the police saying the kid is truant, and the parents negligent.
Why can’t people build their own homes of mud, cob, thatch or whatever? Because such an environment is not conducive for programming people to fear everything.
The Matrix runs deep. Rules are made so that people are driven to mindless living, so that TV and mobile phones cast a spell.

This article is a call to repentance for me. Get rid of the “images” that haunt and control your life. His article is most applicable to the “images” of the evil Communist North Vietnamese and the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War. A certain narrative, a false narrative was shoveled at us by our Government, an agent provocateur of the Military Industrial Complex/Industry so as to “make the world safe from Communism”. The whole conflagration was a LIE of the first order, costing 1.4 million lives and billions of dollars and all to make the elite richer than they already were. Wars on fought by the innocent and started by the satanists. Will we ever learn? I keep hoping we will, but here we go again and the world stands once again on the verge of war. And the usual LIES bolstered by television and Internet will be right there to deceive the people and we ill once again give lives and money to play this insane game started and run by psychopaths

I’ve been ruminating on how to implode the covid-kingdom with one fell swoop… all of the stories related to it.
Jon’s been doing a good job but his blog entries are not something that can hit back hard at the vaxassins and masktards fast and easy enough to make a pathway back to normal.
I tried memorizing a list of 10 points to quickly hit back with but people won’t even engage in interaction anymore. Their eyeballs are glazed over their masks or they’ve got earpods or iphones.
