Memo to Governors: Free states vs. Slave states

US Supreme Court Justice, Louis Brandeis, 1932: “It is one of the happy incidents of the federal system that a single courageous State may, if its citizens choose, serve as a laboratory; and try novel social and economic experiments without risk to the rest of the country.”

You governors are now seeing, whether you like it or not, a competitive situation developing among the states.

Some states are loosening the COVID restrictions; others are tightening them.

In this ongoing process, for example, a remarkable exodus is occurring—from New York to Florida. From lockdowns to freedom.

Some of you governors who demand lockdowns, masks, distancing, immunity certificates, etc., are betting the federal government will somehow intercede, back you up, and force the free states to fall in line with your brutal COVID tactics—thus “leveling the playing field.”

This is unlikely to happen. The White House and the Congress understand there is a limit to how far they can push the states, without fomenting uncontrollable rebellion.

That means you’ll be caught with your pants down, as your citizens emigrate, in ever larger numbers, to freer states.

What business owner wouldn’t prefer to set up shop in an open state economy, rather than shutting down and descending into bankruptcy in your state?

And if you believe the brigades of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube users who demand the harshest COVID policies are going to win the day, you’re entertaining a delusion.

You’re going to stand by and watch your economies continue to shrink, while other states flourish.

Believe it not, this is one of the eventualities the Founders foresaw, when they enshrined the federal/state structure in the Constitution. Limiting the power of central government meant that various individual states could choose their own paths.

This is happening now.

It is happening, regardless of media moaning, regardless of Fauci-ist objections and CDC pressure to conform to suicidal COVID policies.

If you governors of freer states have the courage to double down, and do something that will lift your economies to even greater heights, I have a suggestion.

Push through a law that permits any healing practitioner to treat patients for any given condition, as long as his remedy creates no greater harm than the orthodox treatment for that same condition.

You’ll see a huge influx of practitioners and patients to your state. It’s called Health Freedom—and it’s a policy that welcomes adults who are willing to take responsibility for their own health choices. Health Freedom also booms the economy.

It’s the opposite of forced medical mandates.

And when, five years from now, that new law provokes an upsurge in the overall vitality of your citizens—with no significant downside—you will have proven something more than the absurdity of the COVID restrictions.

You will have proven that the overall medical apparatus out of which those restrictions flowed is, in fact, inherently biased, undeservedly monopolistic, financially driven, scientifically corrupt, inhumanly cruel, and politically motivated as a covert means of controlling the lives of The People.

You will have restored a great portion of the freedom for which men and women have fought, for centuries.

Isn’t that a goal worth pursuing?

CODA: As evidence for my assertions about the US medical system, I’m printing here my 2009 interview with the late Dr. Barbara Starfield, a revered public health expert who spent many years at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

On July 26, 2000, the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) published her review, “Is US Health Really the Best in the World?”

Her conclusions: Every year, in America, the medical system kills 225,000 people. 106,000 as a direct result of the administration of FDA approved drugs; 119,000 as a result of mistreatment and errors in hospitals.

Extrapolate those numbers out to a decade, and the death toll is a staggering 2.25 million people.

Here is my email interview with Dr. Starfield:

What has been the level and tenor of the response to your findings, since 2000?

The American public appears to have been hoodwinked into believing that more interventions lead to better health, and most people that I meet are completely unaware that the US does not have the ‘best health in the world’.

In the medical research community, have your medically-caused mortality statistics been debated, or have these figures been accepted, albeit with some degree of shame?

The findings have been accepted by those who study them. There has been only one detractor, a former medical school dean, who has received a lot of attention for claiming that the US health system is the best there is and we need more of it. He has a vested interest in medical schools and teaching hospitals (they are his constituency).

Have health agencies of the federal government consulted with you on ways to mitigate the [devastating] effects of the US medical system?

NO.

Since the FDA approves every medical drug given to the American people, and certifies it as safe and effective, how can that agency remain calm about the fact that these medicines are causing 106,000 deaths per year?

Even though there will always be adverse events that cannot be anticipated, the fact is that more and more unsafe drugs are being approved for use. Many people attribute that to the fact that the pharmaceutical industry is (for the past ten years or so) required to pay the FDA for reviews [of its new drugs]—which puts the FDA into an untenable position of working for the industry it is regulating. There is a large literature on this.

Aren’t your 2000 findings a severe indictment of the FDA and its standard practices?

They are an indictment of the US health care industry: insurance companies, specialty and disease-oriented medical academia, the pharmaceutical and device manufacturing industries, all of which contribute heavily to re-election campaigns of members of Congress. The problem is that we do not have a government that is free of influence of vested interests. Alas, [it] is a general problem of our society—which clearly unbalances democracy.

Can you offer an opinion about how the FDA can be so mortally wrong about so many drugs?

Yes, it cannot divest itself from vested interests. (Again, [there is] a large literature about this, mostly unrecognized by the people because the industry-supported media give it no attention.)

Would it be correct to say that, when your JAMA study was published in 2000, it caused a momentary stir and was thereafter ignored by the medical community and by pharmaceutical companies?

Are you sure it was a momentary stir? I still get at least one email a day asking for a reprint—ten years later! The problem is that its message is obscured by those that do not want any change in the US health care system.

Are you aware of any systematic efforts, since your 2000 JAMA study was published, to remedy the main categories of medically caused deaths in the US?

No systematic efforts; however, there have been a lot of studies. Most of them indicate higher rates [of death] than I calculated.

What was your personal reaction when you reached the conclusion that the US medical system was the third leading cause of death in the US?

I had previously done studies on international comparisons and knew that there were serious deficits in the US health care system, most notably in lack of universal coverage and a very poor primary care infrastructure. So I wasn’t surprised.

Did your 2000 JAMA study sail through peer review, or was there some opposition to publishing it?

It was rejected by the first journal that I sent it to, on the grounds that ‘it would not be interesting to readers’!

Do the 106,000 deaths from medical drugs only involve drugs prescribed to patients in hospitals, or does this statistic also cover people prescribed drugs who are not in-patients in hospitals?

I tried to include everything in my estimates. Since the commentary was written, many more dangerous drugs have been added to the marketplace.

—end of interview—

Dr. Starfield’s published JAMA review, and this interview, raise mind-bending implications. Among them: prestigious medical journals routinely print glowing reports on many drugs which are, in fact, killing and maiming patients in great numbers. This means that the journal reports, and the studies on which they are based, are rank with fraud and corruption.

In that regard, here is a comment from a doctor who has, no doubt, perused as many such studies as any person in the world:

Dr. Marcia Angell, NY Review of Books, January 15, 2009, “Drug Companies & Doctors: A Story of Corruption”: “It is simply no longer possible to believe much of the clinical research that is published, or to rely on the judgment of trusted physicians or authoritative medical guidelines. I take no pleasure in this conclusion, which I reached slowly and reluctantly over my two decades as an editor of The New England Journal of Medicine.”

This is the overall system that sustains the leading lights who sell COVID policy and “science.”

Let the buyer beware and rebel.

Great article, Jon, as usual. Hopefully enough people have woken up, but I’m sure the next clampdown is in the making.

“And yet we have what purports, or professes, or is claimed, to be a contract—the Constitution—made eighty years ago, by men who are now all dead, and who never had any power to bind us, but which (it is claimed) has nevertheless bound three generations of men, consisting of many millions, and which (it is claimed) will be binding upon all the millions that are to come; but which nobody ever signed, sealed, delivered, witnessed, or acknowledged; and which few persons, compared with the whole number that are claimed to be bound by it, have ever read, or even seen, or ever will read, or see.”

“Another strange notion pervading whole peoples is that the State has money of its own; and nowhere is this absurdity more firmly fixed than in America. The State has no money. It produces nothing. It existence is purely parasitic, maintained by taxation; that is to say, by forced levies on the production of others. “Government money,” of which one hears so much nowadays, does not exist; there is no such thing.”

“Once one concedes that a single world government is not necessary, then where does one logically stop at the permissibility of separate states? If Canada and the United States can be separate nations without being denounced as in a state of impermissible ‘anarchy’, why may not the South secede from the United States? New York State from the Union? New York City from the state? Why may not Manhattan secede? Each neighbourhood? Each block? Each house? Each person?”

  3. BS Detector says:

That is not even to mention vaccinations. Since eliminating liability for recommended vaccines, following which the vaccines schedule has exposed, especially for children, chronic health issues have also skyrocketed, such that a very high percentage of young people are now chronically ill. Since then the death rate due to disease, in general has even increased.

That is in contrast to the small numbers of unvaccinated individuals, among who the rates of chronic or serious health issues are many times lower.

The misguided advice to reduce animal fats and animal products may be the main reason for the rise of the degenerative disease in the US. The controversy surrounding the vaccines may be designed to hide this. (not to say they’re not dangerous… just that they’re even more dangerous if your brain is starving for the saturated fat from the animal foods).

  7. Jim S Smith says:

Corrupt “medicine”, all the way back to Edward Jenner’s time where he was paid by the UK hundreds of thousands of Pounds over his questionable “vaccine” (which, not so coincidentally, caused large numbers of severe injuries, illnesses, and deaths).

The American Medical Association (Yes, THE “AMA”) was founded in the late 1840’s by the allopathic “doctors” (those who often prescribed lethal Mercury in many of their treatments) – to help combat, compete with, and eventually destroy Naturopathic medicine. The AMA was founded for the purposes of establishing the hegemony of allopathy (chemical-based “medicine”), and making it more profitable!

It was the later multi-million-dollar “gifts” from funds and foundations of John Davidson Rockefeller, Sr (of Standard Oil fame) which bailed out the endangered medical schools during the Great Depression, by obligating those school to completely strike from the curricula, the teaching Natural Medicines – if they were to be able to continue doing business. It was also from the Rockefeller Trusts that the AMA was given far greater “regulating” powers, even though (to this day) the AMA is NOT even a legitimate government agency, but a private trade-association! It was also through lobbying by Rockefeller money, that Congress passed a law dictating that ONLY “chemical medicine” was considered a valid and license-able profession which could be awarded degrees (like the term “Doctor”).

Even today, though Chiropracty IS a licensed health profession, and has supporting higher education curricula, IT still is not considered as an officially-recognized valid practice of medicine. In most states, it is legally treated as nothing more than akin to tanning salons, gyms, etc.

    – “A healthy client, is a lost opportunity for profit.

    Nowadays,

Our system of “medicine” operates under the principle of “disease-management”, where only an officially-sanctioned “doctor” (trained in the captured “medical schools”) is allowed to offer treatment. It is almost as if actually healing and curing diseases/conditions is outlawed!

    • CMAN says:

Thanks Jim for you well stated comment. I’ve noticed them before and am pleased with your viewpoint.

    • Will says:

JD Rockerfeller himself use homoeopathy and lived well into his 90s, all the while his Mandatary, Abraham Flexner, was destroying the homoeopathic medical schools in favour of petroleum medicine.
Homoeopathy was the greatest rival to this new medicine, less expensive, less dangerous and at the time more successful.

Even by 1919, with the Spanish ‘flu, the regulars (conventional medics) were killing two thirds of ‘flu patients, whereas the homeopaths were saving 99%
      All very well documented.

You won’t hear that from the mainstream.

  8. D. Smith says:

Wow, this is one of the best, most uplifting articles I’ve read in a long, long time. Just at the time when people need a lift more than ever before, too! I loved it, Jon.

Let’s hope all goes as you say. It will be, literally, freeing to the American’s who actually believe in freedom.

  9. Barbara Powers says:

    On point, excellent! Thank you!

  10. Sean says:

    Hoot there it is!

  11. NC says:

Allopathic (Allpathetic) medicine has nothing to do with
“Healthcare”. Allopaths know NOTHING about health, since all they study is disease.
The system is one of “Disease maintenance”, and even to say that is being generous.
Broken bones, heart attacks, any type of serious trauma, go to a hospital. Otherwise STAY AWAY.
The official numbers of injuries/deaths can probably be multiplied by 10 for a more accurate grasp on the seriousness of the situation. But hey, their bottom lines are soaring!

  12. Siouxma says:

Open economy, including health freedom, would require in the law that no one can be forced to take any medical treatment including vaccinations as a condition of participating in society. Informed consent needs to get real. Newborn babies do not need a hepB inoculation, but it’s now routine along with all the other jabs just to be able to go to school. Home schooling has never been more vital for this reason alone. The Mobster Monsters can only be stopped by not giving them permission.
So-called freer states like Florida still have a governor pushing the Jab, yet outlaws Jab passports. Is this the best we can hope for or is this going to be the old Bait & Switcheroo? Stay tuned.

  13. Mate says:

I’m 38 years old and it’s been just a real treat to watch all of this unfold.

My first inclination during the insanity of March 2020 was to blame the Baby Boomers, hapless dupes from youth, low-hanging fruit for the psych warfare operators, a perfect target for a contrived story about a magically all-powerful microbe. It might seem unlikely to put such voices as Lyndon LaRouche and Timothy Leary in the same category, but one thing they have in common is that they spoke for ages about the Boomers as “a lost generation.” The first Americans to be fascist-ized without realizing it, thanks to the cowardice of their parents. It seemed being gulled by the microbe scam would become their ultimate mission.

But no, I also saw my generation, the Millennials, just as eager to drag the knife across its own throat thirteen months ago. “Flatten the curve!” Eager to be terrorized, eager to be conned, eager to betray the legacy of the best of their ancestors. Far from eager to take to what were entirely empty streets—I know; I was there, waiting.

You needn’t have been simply dumbed down—Gen. Jack T. Ripper had the “communist infiltration” part wrong; it was actually “cognitive infiltration.” You had to have been completely morally, spiritual ruined, an empty shell of a human being, to have gone along with this. To have even set one foot in the direction of “social distancing”, especially living in a big east coast city. And you have to love the term “lockdown,” for doesn’t it imply that the world was *already* a prison? *Already* a giant military installation, where we all needed suddenly to make a contribution to defeating this new invisible enemy?

But for all of the untold mega-destruction of the last thirteen months, I have to say that the last few days have really brought a smile to my face. For the promise to not just the plebes, but to everyone, from the beginning, was: “just wait for a vaccine, and this will all be over.” Setting aside for a moment what an utter monstrosity that is, can’t we now admit that this lie has begun to completely unravel? How many millions have obediently followed these orders, mandates, and then lined up for their injections? And now they’re being told that wasn’t enough? That it’s still unsafe to leave your home? That even vaccinated people can’t safely be around each other? “What a betrayal! What a pack of lies,” you’d expect them to say.

For the love of all that is good and decent, please, please, please, PLEASE, people. Spring/Summer 2021 is the time. Wake up.

    • Sean says:

Um, nicely said! And yeah, lockdown is a prison term.

    • Evs108 says:

Hi, I lurk around here for the comments and really liked reading what you wrote, since I am also a millennial and living in NYC. Well-said. No one will wake up just like that – it is a long, difficult process. So people our age, typically unenlightened, establishment-focused and under the hypnosis of status symbols, are great targets for mass manipulation.

    • Lynn says:

      Well said!!!

    • CMAN says:

      Thank You!

    • Epicurious says:

Agree with most of what you say. Can’t agree re baby boomers given my own experiences. I see far too many people haplessly accepting totalitarian directives but it is amongst my baby boomer peers I see the most angst and a preparedness not to accept the degree of authoritarianism. So I don’t know where you get your view on baby boomers that you refer to but it doesn’t match my survey. Now in regard to vaccines or medical devices as they should be called why would we take one when they don’t stop you getting the alleged virus, nor passing it on and will only provide some relief for mild symptoms?

    • Sm says:

Amen, Mate. For the love GOD, our lord and savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.

When I try and put my thoughts into words I stumble, so bare with me.
I first started seeking TRUTH a few years after 9-11-01. I first learned the lies economic history. That led me to the lies of modern biblical history. They are using the same method(education) in the medical field, just as they’ve done amongst the religious and economy PhD s.
Know that the bible is the script which they are using. But through their lies in the teaching of priets, pastors and all religious leaders, these seminaries and such institutions have brainwashed our church leaders through a LIE. Here’s a fact, and I mean a FACT!!! That which was prophesied in both the OLD and NEW testaments in the book of Revelations happened in 70ad, documented by the Jewish author, Josephus and others. The destruction of Jerusalem and the death of Judaism was also celebrated in ” Handel’s Messiah “.
Our world knew this to be historical FACTS until around the beginning of the 20th century, when a small group of five, in England started out to change history. Through the generations since, their lies have succeeded. May we all pray for TRUTH.

  14. Michael Burns says:

Free states vs slave states? The potency of the electoral college vote is being diluted, for one; the 55 electoral votes for California will now rest in the hands of the invasion from the south; inebriated street people and the naval gazers and what’s left of the perfunctory Hollywood weirdness.

The exodus of the sane to places like Texas, only waters down their voting potency. Texas at 38 votes.

New York versus Florida in the New York exodus evens outs at 29 electoral votes.

The outbound states of those leaving; Iowa, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New jersey and Maryland are 63 electoral votes as compared to where they are going, the inbound states; Colorado, Arizona, Idaho, North and South Carolina which sums up 48 electoral votes.

Crazy is entrenching in those outbound states as they become forever Democrat.

The shifting of blue to a lesser state (excuse the pun) is what? Significant of a disenfranchised or possibly disillusioned conservative voter base who no longer have faith in the vote. Are they fleeing because of the crazy! Do they know at what cost?

    I think they do!

Does this not increase the power of the federal government and especially the democratic party which drags it heals on the southern border problem?

Unless you are talking about succession of many free states from the Union. The possibly deep thinking of populace that is far beyond all this COVID crap. Or are we seeing the physical disintegration of the USA into a number of powerful Republics.

That, given a little time to sink into to peculate into one’s being, could be a very good thing! Death isn’t the worse thing that can happen to the USA.

We need the Republics of Texas and Colorado of, Arizona which is tortured by federal rules supporting the invading migrants and forcing their goddam release.

There is only one choice, there has always only been one choice, you either want freedom, or you want to be a slave.

It seems appropriate to add that in 1990 Allopathors (MD’s, DO’s and on and on) were estimated to be the fifth leading cause of deaths in the USA. Only a decade later that group advanced to third place!
In light of Jon R.’s reports perhaps we need another researcher as courageous as Dr. Starfield to repeat the research project for the 2020 time frame. Provided that group (allopathors) continues to advance at approximately the same rate they could now hold First Place! Wow! How about them apples? Post Convid-19 it is nearly guaranteed that by the year 2025 their crummy concepts will take first place. Most people would do well to learn about and go through a three day Apple Fast instead – not for everybody however.
It seems there is a rather old quote which applies:
“The Doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in diet, nutrition, the cause of disease and in the care of the human frame.” – Thomas Edison

We are not there yet. However, this entire corny virus and it’s ‘jabs’ scenario begins to bring things into alignment for a much closer evolution – leaps and bounds.

States Rights had/have to be obliterated for Globalism/The Empire to grow and fully take hold. But like a forgotten plant or weed that so desperately wants to grow that it will find a tiny crack and opening in a concrete sidewalk just to find the Light, State Rights (and one’s personal desire to reclaim lost personal Rights) want desperately to poke through the Global resistance forces and find a way to grow and live another day. So it is now with some enlightened States affirming a path of Freedom in the face of everything that is desperately trying to stamp it out (in Orwell’s terms, stamp it out “Forever”).

This is a massive social experiment going on right now. Can They — will They — actually succeed in stamping out the desire for Freedom in humans and in society? Will it be propagandized away? Will it be technologized away by Artificial (lack of) Intelligence or other foreign tinkering and messing with the human animal?

Or will – despite everything being thrown at it — is the desire to be free just too strong within the nature of humanity that it will never be fully extinguished? The game is on big time right now, and the end result could go either way.

And this game will never, ever end. At least, we hope it never does. If freedom should fail, there will be no one left to ever wonder what it was or where it went any more…’forever’.

Though some places may seem less bad, would suggest the scale should be different, rather than what’s less bad, what would be best, in that anywhere in this territory that’s bad at all is a problem for everywhere else. The standard should be more, and also think the states thing is as everything else, very planned, to bait people to continue running, but there is nowhere left that’s really different from another, everywhere on earth has some form of surveil and other tech.

That’s not to say that we shouldn’t be in vicinity of similar people, though would say should be wherever we are, rather than change place, connect with others who have same ideals of freedom etc. Sharing is a thing. Last, in article and many others over time, is mention of shop owner, I would argue that most don’t make anything but only re-sell stuff made elsewhere, and so mistake has been jobs that aren’t real, have no real future base. Not to be negative, just some thoughts on mistaken focus of over time. Not enough distant future vision, now here we are in the distant future, so, maybe time to make effort of different focus, soon. Appreciate article Jon, and other’s comments.

  28. Will says:

There’s a couple of follow-up papers from Harvard similar to Starfield (and similarly ignored, unknown).
However, they both ‘greenwash the results by considering only cases where conMed was incorrectly used.
The real carnage is from conMed being “correctly” used.

CDC continues not to acknowledge iatrogenic (caused by medicine) deaths, let alone cases where quality of live has been made worse.

They make the feeble excuse that there is no insurance code for iatrogenic problems, so no code, no report – it didn’t happen.

There you can see the incestuous relationship between Pharma, insurance finance, captive regulators, hospitals and doctors themselves.
    And of course the Media
