If an elite television anchor confessed to everything

If an elite television anchor confessed to everything

~a short story~

Nothing’s been done about that story [the Seal Team raid on the Osama bin Laden compound], it’s one big lie, not one word of it is true.” (Seymour Hersh)

This is the thing. They thought they could rush John Smith, the most famous television anchor in the world, to Bellevue, after he went off on his news broadcast. They thought they could sneak him through the back door.

But the hospital was surrounded by reporters with camera crews when they got there. And Smith wasn’t drugged yet, nor was he was in a straitjacket.

He stepped out of the ambulance and saw…an audience. He immediately perked up. He smiled. He stood there in the driveway, ran his hands through his hair, and gestured at the men in suits who flanked him.

These security people,” he said, “ believe I’m crazy. I’m not and I want to make a brief statement before they take me inside and do God knows what to me.”

Applause broke out. And some laughter.

The guards looked at each other and froze.

A tall blonde standing 20 feet away from Smith tore off her blouse and stood naked from the waist up in the dying light of the summer evening.

Cheers. Some of cameras swiveled to pick her up.

(She was a backup plant in the crowd.)

WE LOVE YOU, SMITH, she said in a clear voice.

Well,” Smith said, “I’m sure this is a wonderful moment of distraction for all of us, but in the history of the world, breasts are nothing new. Check that. I’d say yours look like Marty Cohen’s work. I should know. My first wife was his patient. Marty’s an artist. He has an office in McLean. Does some of the CIA wives.”

Big laughter.

The blonde suddenly looked worried. She put her blouse back on and melted into the crowd.

So,” Smith said, “now that we’ve got the commercial out of the way, let’s get to the heart of things.”

The laughter died down. The crowd went quiet. The cameras were rolling.

About an hour ago, I was doing the news and I said, ‘This is ridiculous, I can’t go on with this, it’s stupid and I don’t want any more deceptions.’ They cut to commercial and before I knew it I was in an ambulance headed for this funny farm.

I operate as a mouthpiece. The way I speak on television sets up frequencies and rhythms that are hypnotic. It’s a skill you hone if you want to rise in this business.

My tone is flat, it’s objective, it’s a bit tough and tender, as if I’m concealing, but just barely, a sympathy for the common people and their plight.

In fact, I know very few common people, and my sympathies lie with myself, my position, my career, my front. Of course I love my family, and I have close friends, but what I do, what I’m paid very good money to do is shape consensus.

It may seem strange to consider it, but reality…public shared reality is a fiction. I ought to know. I invent that fiction every night on the news. That’s my job.

If I do it well, I’m a star, and the people behind the people who pay me are happy.

I’m not suffering from a nervous breakdown. The stress of the job hasn’t gotten to me. I don’t have a mental disorder. I’m not crazy. I’m just tired of inventing the fiction.

I don’t like it anymore.

First of all, I give you news without context. I never fill in the blanks that would make the stories of our time have meaning. I don’t tell you about the natural gas pipeline through Syria or the long-time plan to destabilize Syria and the whole Middle East. I don’t come right out and say the US government is arming and backing the very same terrorists they claim to be fighting. I omit that. I omit context.

Therefore, you don’t have a chance in hell of understanding the news.

Then I also omit altogether certain stories that would shake you to the core and crack the pillars of our way of life. For example, I don’t come out and say the Federal Reserve is actual a gang of private bankers pretending to be part of the government, a gang that manipulates the value of money and creates money out of thin air.

I don’t say that the medical apparatus in this country kills, at minimum, 225,000 people a year. I don’t do simple arithmetic and tell you that means doctors are killing TWO POINT TWO FIVE MILLION AMERICANS PER DECADE.

If I did say these things on the nightly news, I’d be ripping apart the fictional reality I invent for you.

Then, when it comes to what are politely and inaccurately called scandals, I don’t press the issue. I don’t pound on these stories night after night, going deeper, finding the criminals who are responsible, who should be locked up for rest of their lives.

If I set my hounds loose, my reporters, if I took the leash off them, on, say, a story like Benghazi, and if I issued updates every night for three or four months, I’d tear a huge hole in the consensus-reality fabric. Murder, weapons transfers to terrorists. Naming names. Relentlessly.

I don’t do that. I wouldn’t last a day on the job if I did.

My whole life has been a lead-up, a preparation for a grand simulation. Do you see? From the time I was a boy, I realized there was this thing called simulation.

It’s like a cartoon, but it’s a serious cartoon. And I realized I could narrate these animations, I could make people believe them.

My voice. The cultivation of a voice. A believable telling of a tale. It was easy for me. I found out how I could relate to people and get them to trust me.

I saw INTO what they wanted. A feeling of security, a feeling that things are all right. And, I thought, why shouldn’t they want that? If I can give it to them, I’m performing a valuable service. Everybody wants that.

From this core, a long time ago, I shaped my persona, my attitude, my way of speaking and responding. To use an old phrase, I was ‘other-directed.’ From all appearances, I wasn’t interested in myself.

That became my motto and my religion. DON’T BE INTERESTED IN YOURSELF.

But somewhere along the line, a confusion set in. I was doing good, I was giving people what they wanted, I was keeping my own desires in check. I was narrating stories. And yet, the outcome…the outcome was twisted.

I wasn’t a therapist or a chaplain or a teacher trying to help people get their lives back. I was a broadcaster, a news man. I was supposed to take a direct line to the truth, and when I found it, I was supposed to travel even deeper, into the dark places where the lies are manufactured.

But you see, I was in a dark place, and I was manufacturing lies.

It’s taken me many years to admit this contradiction and see it squarely.

In the process, I’ve seen more and more of what we call reality and how it’s MADE.

I’ll tell you this. If I could somehow retain the public platform I’ve built, I would spend the rest of my life doing nothing but showing HOW IT’S MADE. That would be my job.

But of course, that’s impossible.

These men beside me are going to take me into this hospital, and a psychiatrist is going to interview me and diagnose me with a mental disorder.

The Matrix Revealed

Exit From the Matrix

And most of you will believe the news reports about me. You’ll accept the reality that psychiatrists invent out of thin air. You’ll shake your heads and say, ‘It’s too bad what happened to Smith. I always liked him. Now I’m going to have to find another person, another voice, another face, another anchor to make reality for me every night.’

Well, you won’t put it that way. But that is the situation.

Who is going to make reality for you? The eternal search.

How many of you will realize that you, individually, can make it for yourself, that the whole notion of a collective consensus is fatally flawed, that CONSENSUS is a gigantic teaser for the upcoming news?

There is one thing you can do for me now. In this country, we still have a few freedoms, a few protections. I don’t have to submit to someone, a psychiatrist, telling me what my state of mind is.

I can declare my own state of mind.

On the off-chance that I might not be crazy, that I do have the right to assert and judge my own thoughts, you can intercede at this moment.

Do you understand?”

Silence.

The crowd was silent.

Everything was suddenly very still.

Then…one beat. Two beats. Three beats.

And…

THEY SURGED FORWARD.

A few hundred people moved forward and got between Smith and his guards.

The cameras kept rolling.

The crowd formed a cordon around Smith.

And that was the way they walked back out of the driveway and into the street.

The sun had set.

It was night.

Uncertain, developing, breaking…

Nice Work here, Truth has a funny way of Uniting people.

Nothing makes me think and feel the way Jon’s articles do.
One of the clearest thinkers alive.

  3. This actually happened, to a more limited extent, back in the 80’s when news anchor Connie Chung went on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. She was asked by Carson whether or not they actually investigated the news stories they report each night, and her reply just about knocked me off my chair. She said, “Johnny, most people think we actually go out and investigate these news stories each day. We don’t. We just read them. Sometimes, we read them right of the piece of paper the government hands us.”

Directly after that she lost her news anchor job, and her career slowly disintegrated, in spite of the fact she was married to Maury Povich.

Similarly, today, Pulitzer Prize-winning author and journalist Seymour Hersch admitted the entire story of Osama Bin Laden’s killing was a complete fake from beginning to end. (I caught a LOT of guff on the FB for saying that same thing, back at the time it happened.) To quote Hersch, “The republic’s in trouble, we lie about everything, lying has become the staple.”

Yes, lying indeed HAS become the staple. Now, when one of these guys finally comes out and admits that their entire job is to manufacture reality and feed it to the masses, as Mr. Rappaport so eloquently points out, I’ll be thoroughly impressed. But I’m not holding my breath. Besides, I think even if it did happen, the public has been bamboozled for so long now they’d just sit there in denial, probably thinking it must some kind of “punk” by Ashton Kutcher.

Strange kind of synchronicity going on here Jon, I could have predicted this blog, maybe I’ve crossed some boundary here, an edge to reality, and the only one that really counts…the one inside my own head.
Now there’s a scary though, to be oneself…and know that’s as real as it gets. Real thought is dangerous. There has to be a cost for truth and there has to be a cost for thought. Thoughts are not an impulse, even though they can be, doesn’t mean they should be, they are living…they hurt, lie, love, kill, humiliate, encourage, destroy, redeem and the like. There has to be a personal cost, one can’t throw them around like chafe in the wind. One can’t allow them to pop into the mind and not know there origin. I have watched these TV journalists (maybe we do need to define it) salivate, tongue darting eyes scrunched at the gory details at hand. They are a poison to a free mind. But to the simple over reactor….they not even realizing they do it.
Reading your blogs, and the intelligent comments that seem magnetically to connect to them. Has inspired me to create a blog of my own here on WordPress.
My hope is I have something courageous intelligent to say…..speaking what is truly in one’s heart will challenge the status quo and can only bring back grief. Trolling being the deadheads pass time it seems.
Courage to speak one’s own thoughts without parroting some malice to others. In hope that possibly one might understand a smidgen of the truth of the world. Or have open ears to hear from another the same. This greatly managed and manufactured lie that we live.
To speak simply…. to get people stop!….to get them to think, not react but think about what had just been spoken to them, or what they have just read….. Digesting it….. Roll it around inside their minds. Intelligence is not an iThought. These little gadgets are training people to have the attention span of a gerbil. Most are caught so perfectly within that Hegelian dialectic. http://www.crossroad.to/articles2/05/dialectic.htm
Problem/Reaction/Solution. Yawn…ad nauseum. I feel tire just repeating the sentence to you.
The one thing I do know Jon…there seems to be more of them than there is of us….

Too bad that what would really happen is he would be “Hastinged”. It is also a fact that so called modern US males have absolutely no problem with women’s cosmetic surgery or the fact that too many women act like complete whores. Most people are plastic, and would never defend someone else or even care about principles or the truth.

It is already too late for US, as only the fully awakened Bear is attempting to follow God’s Laws.

  6. Afshin Nejat says:

Nice fantasy, but deep down you know that the guards would never permit it and the lemmings would stand their in silence while he was manhandled into the facility, if they bothered to show up there at all. The lemmings, “the people”, Jon. Have you MET them lately? Take a ride on the bus everyday like I do, the one that acts as a main avenue of transport for the urban sloths, some housed, some not. Go to the restaurants, see what they eat, how desensitized they are to suffering. The theaters, the sports stadiums, the living rooms gathered round their TEE VEES. These hordes are the evil plaque upon which the Archons DEPEND to commit their evils!

The good thing about what you write is it carves a LINE through this field of FRINGE Lemmings, and acts as one of many little stimuli which force them to ooze off of the fence they just happened to be sitting on, usually because that is where they were born and raised and intended to die. Most of them will ooze into the world of fully fledged Lemmingdom, and that will be a wonderful thing in itself, as that will speed up the Great Judgement by allowing any Real Beings held hostage in the bodies of the rest to more easily slide the other way.

Great post, Jon. I hear every word, but what of David Icke?

  8. snortly says:

When lies become truth, tyrants become kings. When money is manipulated, nothing has value. When free men become lazy, they become the slaves of the evil and diligent. When emotion rules, the soul dies.

  9. Jason says:

Nice story. I loved the premise. I was interested throughout. I have read a good deal of this man’s stories.

I don’t think the examples of the egregious behaviour of political corruption were sufficiently visceral though. But then again, how deep can you go into supposed conspirtorial theory without sounding insane?

The title says, “If an elite television anchor confessed to everything.”

The old me once thought that was possible.
…If only they could be shown…
It was as if, “If only they would see!”

I now know that’s an impossibility. …Or seems to be.

    – Sign me, just an aware individual in the Heartland.

Heck, and I’ve only read the title, I imagine the story will take me further down the rabbit hole. .. Or is that, rat hole?

  11. John says:

Ask Phil Donahue how questioning power works. He was their number one rated show and after questioning the invasion of Iraq, clean out your desk,Gone.

  12. Great story and COMMENTS. (I wish your blog permitted replies to comments.) I’m sure John Smith had a lot of nice drugs to look forward to as part of his treatment. A funny, old word, “treatment.” The veil is thick and heavy. And it’s been the reality for so long (though just a match flame in the big picture). Just pick a scandal, let’s say Watergate. More lies, lies, lies. The truth is too much for most people to wrap their minds around. Try telling people that Nixon didn’t want to play the NWO agenda game or “hang” with the men (LOL) at Bohemian Grove on TV. It sounds outrageous, but it’s probably much closer to the truth than anything written by Woodward and Bernstein. And yet people like Ben Bradlee and Katherine Graham, the so-called “pillars of the community,” live/lived lives of luxury and privilege. It sounds crazy, AND THEY USE THAT to perpetuate the facade. As Mr Morrison (shaman) sang, “BREAK ON THROUGH TO THE OTHER SIDE,” already. I’ll have an onion bagel with the peyote spread, please.

In the 80’s I knew the corporate media were phony. We called CNN Cheer-leading Not News. With the Internet available only those willfully ignorant souls remain in the dark. The problem is those who hold steadfast on a morsel of credibility with this dying theatrical media are fearful to actually have to think for themselves. They would shudder perhaps even faint to realize they have been part of a manufactured lie most of their lives. Great work Jon.

  19. Graham says:

There are in reality only a small proportion of us who know what is what, and how it all fits together and is all part of one big conspiracy, and if you tell others, you are the nut. Big Pharma, Big Industry, Toxic Chemicals, Fluoride and Chlorine in water, Media in bed with the cabal, the cabal, Georgia Guidstones, Jesuits, Masons, the Israeli connection, Bullingdon boys in the UK, Skull & Bones in the US, aliens, reptilians etc etc.
Then there is the whole new age stuff, are we going to ‘ascend’ or not? Is that what we are here for? Is there a God and will he come to save us – again? or send his son again? or do we have to figure this all out ourselves this time around? There are 99 of us to every 1 of them so it shouldn’t be too hard?
But it is all set up so that YOU have to figure this out for yourself, I don’t know if you’ve noticed this or not, there comes a point in everyone’s life when they go looking for the answers, and this comes to us all at different ages. Maybe this has been ongoing for ever? Maybe that’s what ascension is, realising that something isn’t right, and maybe you only get your reward when you die, which will make it even harder for those of us who think it is coming soon and that the ‘prosperity packages’ and ‘NESARA’ are just around the corner?
It does my bloody head in sometimes. Is it all about ‘faith’?
If we are all still here in 10 years from now, and things are a whole lot worse, will we still be thinking that whatever is going to happen is just around the corner?
Is there going to be an ‘event’ like Cobra is telling us?

  20. Genius! Thanks for writing that. Now, if only we could get some news anchors to take the red pill…

  21. Ian T. MacLeod says:

Would this go under the heading of, “Not real, but true,” or “Not true, but real”? Either way, it’s RIGHT, and I think pretty much anyone reading on this blog would love to have it happen. Sadly, it would never get out very far. TPTB have gotten very good at burying actual news – in America, at least.
