Scientific basis for GMO crops is false

Unpredictable effects. Unknown outcomes. Potential health consequences. Uncertain gene technology.

These aren’t phrases biotech giants like to hear.

They prefer:

“One gene produces one protein.”

“Each gene has a specific function.”

This is the basis for the modern biotech industry, and it applies most definitely to GMO crops.

And it is false.

So for example, when Monsanto says the genes they insert in plants only serve to protect the plants from the herbicide Roundup and have no other function, they’re making it up.

For a brief summary of the situation, see Denise Caruso’s NY Times piece, “A Challenge to Gene Theory, a Tougher Look at Biotech,” July 1, 2007.

Caruso reports on the findings of an “exhaustive four-year effort…organized by the United States National Human Genome Research Institute and carried out by 35 groups from 80 organizations around the world.”

“…genes appear to operate in a complex network, and interact and overlap with one another and with other components in ways not yet fully understood.”

“Evidence of a networked [interacting] genome shatters the scientific basis for virtually every official risk [safety] assessment of today’s commercial biotech products, from genetically engineered crops to pharmaceuticals.”

In other words, each gene inserted in GMO food crops cannot be said to have only one function. There is reason to believe the inserted genes interact with genes already in the plants, and produce unknown effects.

Therefore, bland assurances of safety are smoke blowing in the wind.

“Jack Heinemann, a professor of molecular biology in the School of Biological Sciences at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand and director of its Center for Integrated Research in Biosafety”: ‘The real worry for us has always been that the commercial agenda for biotech may be premature, based on what we have long known was an incomplete understanding of genetics…’

Heinemann: “Because gene patents and the genetic engineering process itself are both defined in terms of genes acting independently, [government] regulators may be unaware of the potential impacts arising from these network [interacting] effects.”

power outside the matrix

Biotech companies like Monsanto are, to be sure, aware of this gaping hole in their “science” of gene-function. In fact, according to Heinemann, “Many biotech companies already conduct detailed genetic studies of their products that profile the expression of proteins and other elements. But they are not required to report most of this data to regulators, so they do not. Thus vast stores of important research information sit idle.”

This means that Monsanto or Dow can conceal what they’ve discovered about GMO hazards. They can hide findings that show unpredicted effects, when inserted genes meet and network with natural genes in the food crops.

If we were merely talking about studies done in labs and abstract articles in journals, that would be one thing. But of course, we are talking about millions of acres planted with GMO crops—and vast populations eating GMO food.

It’s all based on a simplistic and false notion about how genes function.

The biotech giants know this, government regulators know this, and many scientists know this.

But they hide what they know.

And all this dangerous fakery doesn’t even touch on the highly toxic effects of Roundup and other herbicides necessary to manage GMO crops.

Election Bang: Maui bans GMO crops

Election Bang: Maui bans GMO crops

by Jon Rappoport

NoMoreFakeNews.com

Note: To those few of you who are spending big bucks to fund GMO-labeling ballot measures, I’m taking you to school in this article. Read the whole thing, especially the last part. If you want more lessons, get in touch.

Okay. Here we go.

They got into Monsanto’s face. They accused Monsanto/Dow of spreading poison.

They didn’t say, “You have a right to know what’s in your food and we’re all nice people, and reasonable people have a right to disagree.”

They hit it hard.

The Maui SHAKA Movement and voteyesmaui.org and other activists won by a very narrow margin—and instituted a temporary ban on new Monsanto/Dow GMO crops in Maui County.

Their corporate opposition spent $300 for every vote they got. And lost.

A tip of the hat and a bow to Maui County activists.

You know what you’re doing. You’re local. You experience, first-hand, the Monsanto Roundup poison. You see something, you do something.

The ban/moratorium can only be overturned after an environmental impact statement is submitted to the Maui County Council, and after a 2/3 vote to overturn.

Without doubt, the Maui activists will monitor that process very closely and expose corrupt Council members and the upcoming parade of low-life Monsanto lawyers, PR flacks, and bagmen carrying cash for bribes.

Ultimate victory isn’t guaranteed by any means, but this is a real battle, not a mock one.

Colorado lost its GMO labeling ballot measure last night, and so did Oregon.

But Maui proved, in its own backyard, that banning poison is more powerful than labeling it.

The major funders of the labeling campaigns should write some fat checks to voteyesmaui.org and SHAKA, and then also buy ads on big websites: MAUI KNOWS HOW TO BEAT MONSANTO.

Let the world know.

In the end, this isn’t a consumer campaign, it’s a war against lying corporate poisoners.

Saying Monsanto can keep poisoning doesn’t cut it.

Update: Ballot Measure P in Humboldt County, California, passed by a wide margin. Measure P “prohibits the propagation, cultivation, raising, or growing of genetically modified organisms in Humboldt County.”

Good work, Humboldt. Another ban.

***Let me explain something. The GMO-labeling ballot measures are really PR campaigns, and they keep some degree of awareness alive about GMO crops.

They’re not full educational campaigns, because the amount of teaching they do is superficial, despite their claims to the contrary.

PR is slogans. Education is much, much deeper, and it certainly includes aggressive information about the horrendous effects of Roundup, among other GMO issues.

Education requires getting people to stand still long enough to actually learn something important. It isn’t a brush-off.

So here’s the point. If these GMO-labeling ballot campaigns are really PR, then why not redirect the PR against Monsanto and the other corporate criminals, instead of monotonously hammering away on “the right to know what’s in your food”?

There’s nothing to lose (after labeling defeats in California, Washington, Colorado, and Oregon), and everything to gain.

Monsanto is building this reality: GMO foods are wonderful and safe and the planet benefits.

So far, the counter-reality is: let Monsanto and their allied farmers grow their food, as long as the consumer can ID it on the label and reject it, if he wants to.

That’s going to win the day?

That’s the superior new reality?

That’s suicide through lack of imagination and courage.

power outside the matrix

Take a few million of the dollars now being spent on pro-labeling campaigns and, instead, put it into video web ads that play all over the world:

For example:

A destitute farmer (and his family) stands in front of his wasted, dusty, super-weed-choked field, states his name, and says: “I’m an American farmer. Monsanto lied to me and killed my farm and my livelihood with their poison called Roundup. And it doesn’t even work. The weeds it was supposed to knock out are bigger than ever. Monsanto strangled my soybean crop. They ruined my farm. And my daughter is sick from the Roundup poison…”

Then…boom. A few of your cold-eyed, take-no-prisoner attorneys stroll into the frame, and one of them looks into the camera and says, “Hello, Monsanto. Thinking of suing us for this ad? Bring it, baby.”

A man pushes a large trunk on a dolly into the frame. He opens the trunk and takes out sheaf after sheaf of papers.

The attorney says, “Monsanto? This is the evidence that shows you’ve been lying to the people about how safe GMO food is, and you’ve been lying about your poison called Roundup. See you at the first deposition. It’s going to be a DOOZIE, Monsanto.”

A large red title appears at the bottom of the screen: BAN GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOOD.

It fades out, to be replaced by another title:

SEND MONSANTO CRIMINALS TO PRISON.

Something like that. For starters.

Other ads will follow.

Increase public awareness? Create a page-one controversial news story from one end of the planet to the other?

Are you kidding?

Monsanto sues and it’s a five-year story. Monsanto doesn’t sue and they’re cowards. Either way it’s a big-time winner.

THIS is PR.

PR for the public good.

Hillary Clinton backs GMOs to the hilt

Hillary Clinton backs GMOs to the hilt

by Jon Rappoport

July 28, 2014

www.nomorefakenews.com

The Times of San Diego reports on Hillary Clinton’s keynote speech to biotech heavy hitters, at the recent BIO International Convention.

The headline is: “Hillary Clinton Cheers Biotechers, Backing GMOs and Federal Help.”

Hillary professes worry that biotech companies are moving their operations out of the US. The answer? Federal subsidies, of course:

“’Maybe there’s a way of getting a representative group of actors at the table’ to discuss how the federal government could help biotechs with ‘insurance against risk,’ she said.”

In other words, stay in the US, carry out as much research as you want to, and we’ll knock down lawsuits, pay you for your failures, and support you when you lie and claim your results are positive and pose no risk to human health.

Perfect.

The Times of San Diego continued:

“She [Hillary] said the debate about GMOs might be turned toward the biotech side if the benefits were better explained, noting that the ‘Frankensteinish’ depictions could be fought with more positive spin.”

Yes, we need more spin. And with Hillary, we can count on it. Here’s the quote from her speech:

“I stand in favor of using [GMO] seeds and products that have a proven track record…There’s a big gap between the facts and what the perceptions are.”

So true. The media/government fostered perception is that GMO crops are wonderful, whereas the fact is they’re a dangerous failure. (If you need a starter course, refer to gmwatch.org and read the whole site from end to end, including archives.)

In her speech, Hillary cited drought-resistant GMO crops as an example of a breakthrough she championed as secretary of state.

However, in the Union of Concerned Scientists report, “High and Dry,” we have this: “Biotechnology companies such as Monsanto have held out the promise that genetic engineering can…[create] new crop varieties that can thrive under drought conditions and reduce water demand even under normal conditions….

“Though the mid-2000’s saw a surge in field trials for crop varieties with engineered drought tolerance traits, as of 2012 only one such variety—Monsanto’s DroughtGard [corn], containing the engineered gene cspB—had been approved by the USDA.

“The results so far paint a less than spectacular picture of DroughtGard’s effectiveness: USDA analysis of data supplied by Monsanto show that DroughtGard produces only modest results, and only under moderate drought conditions at that. The report estimates that cspB corn would increase the overall productivity of the U.S. corn crop by only about one percent. And DroughtGard does not improve water use efficiency.”

In other words, the whole drought-resistant GMO crop promise is proving to be a dud.

Of course it is, because the strategy of injecting a genetic element that will make crops continue to live in a waterless environment is like pretending plant photosynthesis can thrive in a perpetually dark cellar. It’s a straight-out con, a billion-dollar hustle.

power outside the matrix

But Hillary happens to be a willing partner in the hustle.

And her speech in San Diego sent that clear signal to the biotech community: Elect me and we’ll work it out. I’ll control the cash. You’ll issue the fake results. We’ll hit new highs.

She would uphold the tradition of Presidency as the seat of unconscionable deception.

Equally important, she’d be the first woman President whose family was teetering on the edge of applying for food stamps. Had to throw that one in there.

Are the Republican any better on the GMO issue? Of course not. Bipartisan support for GMOs is as firm as a rock, from which both blood (decimation of human health) and money can be squeezed.

Monsanto/FDA: 2 crime families, trillion-dollar hustle

by Jon Rappoport

July 22, 2014

(To join our email list, click here.)

“The propagandists who actually decide the content of mainstream news have done a bang-up job on Monsanto. They’ve made it seem that the science for and against GMO crops is a swamp of uncertainty no one can decipher. Therefore, leave it alone. Don’t step into it. This omits one stunning circumstance: exactly how GMO crops were permitted into the US food supply in the first place.” (The Underground, Jon Rappoport)

Perhaps you remember the Just-Label-It campaign. A number of activist groups petitioned the FDA for a federal regulation that would make labeling GMO food mandatory all across America.

The petition amassed over a million signatures. But the FDA decided only 394 of these were legitimate, because all the others were electronically submitted in one document.

Infuriating? Of course. But that was nothing.

Imagine this. A killer is put on trial, and the jury, in a surprise verdict, finds him not guilty. Afterwards, reporters interview this killer. He says, “The jury freed me. It’s up to them. They decide. That’s what justice is all about.”

Then the press moves along to members of the jury, who say: Well, we had to take the defendant’s word. He said he was innocent, so that’s what we ruled.

That’s an exact description of the FDA and Monsanto partnership.

When you cut through the verbiage that surrounded the introduction of GMO food into America, you arrive at two key statements. One from Monsanto and one from the FDA, the agency responsible for overseeing, licensing, and certifying new food varieties as safe.

Quoted in the New York Times Magazine (October 25, 1998, “Playing God in the Garden”), Philip Angell, Monsanto’s director of corporate communications, famously stated: “Monsanto shouldn’t have to vouchsafe the safety of biotech food. Our interest is in selling as much of it as possible. Assuring its safety is the FDA’s job.”

From the Federal Register, Volume 57, No.104, “Statement of [FDA] Policy: Foods Derived from New Plant Varieties,” here is what the FDA had to say on this matter: “Ultimately, it is the food producer who is responsible for assuring safety.”

The direct and irreconcilable clash of these two statements is no accident. It’s not a sign of incompetence or sloppy work or a mistake or a miscommunication. It’s a clear signal that the fix was in.

No real science. No deep investigation. No convincing evidence of safety. Passing the buck back and forth was the chilling and arrogant strategy through which Pandora’s Box was pried opened and GMO food was let into the US food supply.

In order for this titanic scam to work, the media had to cooperate. Reporters had to be a) idiots and b) sell-outs.

With few exceptions, reporters and their editors let the story rest there, as a “he said-he said” issue. No sane principled journalist would have cut bait at that point, but who said mainstream reporters are sane or principled?

Underneath the Monsanto-FDA buck-passing act, there was a conscious deal to give a free pass to GMO crops. This had nothing to do with science or health or “feeding the world.” It was about profits. It was also about establishing a new monopoly on food.

Not only would big agribusiness dominate the planet’s food supply as never before, it would strengthen its stranglehold through patents on novel types of seeds which were technologically engineered.

It’s very much like saying, “A cob of corn is not a plant, it’s a machine, and we own the rights to every one of those yellow machines.”

How was Monsanto able to gather so much clout?

There was one reason and one reason only. Putting the world’s food supply into fewer hands was, and is, a major item on the Globalist agenda. If it weren’t, the FDA-Monsanto scam would have been exposed in a matter of weeks or months.

Major newspapers and television networks would have attacked the obvious con job like packs of wild dogs and torn it to pieces.

But once the scam had been given a free pass, the primary corporate-government tactic was to accomplish a fait accompli, a series of events that was irreversible.

In this case, it was about gene drift. From the beginning, it was well known that GMO plants release genes that blow in the wind and spread from plant to plant, crop to crop, and field to field. There is no stopping it.

Along with convincing enough farmers to lock themselves into GMO-seed contracts, Monsanto bought up food-seed companies in order to engineer the seeds…and the gene-drift factor was the ace in the hole.

Sell enough GMO seeds, plant enough GMO crops, and you flood the world’s food crops with Monsanto genes.

Back in the 1990s, the prince of darkness, Michael Taylor, who has moved through the revolving door between the FDA and Monsanto several times, and is now the czar of food safety at the FDA—Taylor said, with great conviction, that the GMO revolution was unstoppable; within a decade or two, an overwhelming percentage of food grown on planet Earth would be GMO.

Taylor and others knew. They knew about gene drift, and they also knew that ownership of the world’s food, by a few companies, was a prime focus for Globalist kings who intended to feed the population through Central Planning and Distribution.

–“We feed these people; we hold back food from those people; we send food there; we don’t send food here.”–

Control food and water, and you hold the world in your hand.

Here is evidence that, even in earlier days, Monsanto knew about and pushed for the Globalist agenda. Quoted by J. Flint, in his 1998 “Agricultural Giants Moving Towards Genetic Monopolism,” Robert Fraley, head of Monsanto’s agri-division, stated: “What you are seeing is not just a consolidation of [Monsanto-purchased] seed companies. It’s really a consolidation of the entire food chain.”

And as for the power of the propaganda in that time period, I can think of no better statement than the one made on January 25th, 2001, by the outgoing US Secretary of Agriculture, Dan Glickman. As reported by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Glickman said:

“What I saw generically on the pro-biotech [GMO] side was the attitude that the technology was good and that it was almost immoral to say that it wasn’t good, because it was going to solve the problems of the human race and feed the hungry and clothe the naked. And there was a lot of money that had been invested in this, and if you’re against it, you’re Luddites, you’re stupid. There was rhetoric like that even here in this department [USDA]. You felt like you were almost an alien, disloyal, by trying to present an open-minded view on some of these issues being raised. So I pretty much spouted the rhetoric that everybody else around here spouted; it was written into my speeches.”

Glickman reveals several things in these remarks: he was spineless; people at the Dept. of Agriculture were madly buying into the Monsanto cover story about feeding the world; and there had to be a significant degree of infiltration at his Agency.

The last point is key. This wasn’t left to chance. You don’t get a vocal majority of Dept. of Agriculture personnel spouting the Monsanto propaganda merely because the fairy tale about feeding the world sounds so good. No, there are people working on the inside to promote the “social cause” and make pariahs out of dissenters.

You need special background and training to pull that off. It isn’t an automatic walk in the park. This is professional psyop and intelligence work.

I’ve done some investigation of various groups on both the left and the right, and I’ve seen some pros in action. They’re good. They know how to leverage ideas and slogans and ideals. They know how to defame opponents and find the right words to sink them. They know how to turn high-flying but vague words about “humanity” into moral imperatives.

This isn’t rinky-dink stuff. To tune up bureaucrats and scientists, you have to have a background in manipulation. You have to know what you’re doing. You have to be able to build and sustain support, without giving your game away.

Truth be told, governments are full of these pros, who will take any number of causes and turn them into what falsely sounds like good science, good government, good morality, all the while knowing that, on the far shore, sits the real prize: control.

These psyop specialists are hired to help make overarching and planet-wide agendas come true, as populations are brought under sophisticated and pathological elites who care, for example, about feeding the world as much as a collector cares about paralyzing and pinning butterflies on a panel in a glass case.

Here is David Rockefeller, writing in his 2003 Memoirs:

“Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure—one world, if you will. If that is the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.”

The Globalists play for keeps.

Owning the food of the world is part of their strike-force action plan, and Monsanto is the technocratic arm of that plan.

Meanwhile, the controlled press treats the whole sordid Monsanto/FDA story with its time-honored policy of “he said-he said.” This policy dictates that stories merely present both sides of a conflict without drawing conclusions.

It applies across the board—except when it doesn’t. For example, for reasons too complex to go into here, the Washington Post decided to suspend its policy in the Watergate case. Woodward and Bernstein were assigned to investigate what was going on behind White House denials and obfuscations.

The same thing could be done with Monsanto, and it would be far easier. The lies and crimes and cover-ups are everywhere. You could wear sunglasses and find them in the dark.

The NY Times and the Washington Post could sell millions more papers on the back of the Monsanto story alone. It would be a bonanza for them. But no. They don’t care. They’d rather keep declining and losing readers. They’d rather die.

Normally, a business doesn’t commit suicide, especially when it sees exactly how to resuscitate itself. But here we are dealing with an agenda which can’t be disturbed. Globalism, and its agri-techno partner, Monsanto, are creating a planetary future. Major media are part and parcel of that op. They are selling it.

Even as their bottom lines erode, these newspapers and television networks have to stay on their present course. By pretending they’re reporting the real news, they’re giving the impression that Monsanto and the FDA are home free.

Again, we aren’t talking about sloppy reporting or accidental omissions of fact or boggling incompetence or ignorance about science. We are talking about conscious intent to deceive.

Yes, now and then the controlled media will release a troubling piece about Monsanto. But placement and frequency are everything. How often do these stories run? Do they run as the lead or do we find them on page 7? Are reporters assigned to keep pounding on a basic story and reveal more and more crimes? Does the basic story gather steam over the course of weeks and months?

These are the decisions that make or break a story. In the case of Monsanto and the FDA, the decisions were made a long time ago.

Part of every reporter’s training in how the real world works, if he has any ideals at all, is marching into his editor’s office with his hair on fire demanding to be given an assignment to expose a crime. The editor, knowing the true agenda of his newspaper or television network, tells the reporter:

“We’ve already covered that.”

“It’s old news.”

“People aren’t interested in it.”

“It’s too complicated.”

“The evidence you’re showing me is thin.”

“You’ll never get to the bottom of it.”

“The people involved won’t talk to you.”

And if none of those lies work, the editor might say, “If you keep pushing this, it would be bad for your career. You’ll lose access for other stories. You’ll be thought of as weird…”

This is how the game works at ground level. But make no mistake about it, the hidden agenda is about protecting an elite’s op from exposure.

If NBC, for example, gave its golden boy, Brian Williams, the green light, he would become an expert on Monsanto in three days. He’d become a tiger. He’d affect a whole set of morally outraged poses and send Monsanto down into Hell.

Don’t misunderstand. Brian hasn’t been waiting to move in for the kill. But wind him up and point to a target and he’ll go there.

However, no one at NBC in the executive offices will point him at Monsanto or the FDA.

All the major reporters at news outlets and all the elite television anchors are really psyop specialists. It’s just that most of them don’t know it.

One outraged major reporter who woke up and got out of the business put it to me this way: When he was in the game, he looked at the news as a big public restroom. His one guiding principle was: Don’t piss on your shoes. Pissing on your shoes was covering a story that was considered out of bounds. If you walked into the boss’s office, he’d look you up and down and see the telltale sign. He’d say, “Hey, you pissed on your shoes. Get out of here. You’re fired.”

The Monsanto nightmare is a flower of poison

The Monsanto nightmare is a flower of poison

~a short story~

by Jon Rappoport

July 22, 2014

www.nomorefakenews.com

One spring day, in a secret basement conference room, at the St. Louis headquarters of Monsanto, the Committee of Three met.

They were the men, nameless, who really pulled the strings when strings needed to be pulled.

They approved the very biggest bribes to politicians. They vetted Presidential candidates and made sure both parties were nominating friends of the corporation.

They liaised with the NSA when blackmailing opponents was the order of the day, when surveillance data made that blackmail possible.

They gave the orders that initiated full-bore campaigns to turn recalcitrant nations into Monsanto allies.

They oversaw the operation called Gene Drift, whose objective was to make genetically engineered food a fait accompli, a universal reality for Planet Earth, no matter what laws were passed, no matter what restrictions were placed on the growing of GM crops.

Gene Drift—the contamination of all plants in the world. As the winds blow, so travel the genes.

They tracked the spread of their poisonous herbicide, Roundup. The goal was to circle the Earth in a mantle of this noxious compound.

But today, the Committee of Three had a different agenda. An employee of the company had somehow placed, on all Monsanto work computers, a story. A horrible story. No one could identify the traitor or calculate how he had wormed his way past corporate security systems.

Committee Member 1: “The man is obviously deranged. He’s mentally ill. He’s dangerous. But clever.”

Committee Member #2: “It’s a science fiction story. That’s what he’s written. It barely makes sense. It’s a story told by a psycho. Are we really going to turn this company upside down looking for him?”

Committee Member #3: “Damn right we are. If he were challenging our science and exposing it as fraud, we would know what to do. We’d discredit him and publish a dozen new fake studies that prove he’s wrong. We’re experts when it comes to that. But you see, what he’s done is more devious. His story is vague and suggestive. It’s metaphorical, allegorical. It covertly leaks ideas into the brain. It plants its own seeds.”

Committee Member #1: “I agree. This is a new kind of threat. And coming from the inside, it’s all the more ominous. It could take hold like a contagious germ, a slow germ that infects the brain cell by cell.”

Committee Member #2: “I see your point. Yes. But how do we find out who this marauder is, so we can deal with him? So far, he’s managed to hide.”

On the conference table lay a typed copy of the story that had suddenly appeared on every Monsanto computer in the world:

—-Lf was the oldest man among them. He wrestled with fear. He tried to invent a new plan but he failed time and time again. He was in thrall. Psychologically trapped.

He knew he had to kill the enemy, but he couldn’t. A force held him back. At night, he wept against the sleeping body of his wife.

One thought occurred to him in his twilight hours. If enough of his own people were on his side, they might give him the strength to carry out the act. If they stopped fearing and venerating the dragon, they might spring the lock on his own mind and, then, he would be able to carry out the deed.

Why was the fate of the dragon in his hands alone? Why couldn’t others free themselves and commit the act?

Another thought came to him. What about…a law? In his society, there were few of them. Wasn’t a law supposed to be a congealing of public will and determination? Wasn’t it a principle everyone saw as true? Wasn’t it a protection against evil? Suppose his people gave voice to a principle? Wouldn’t that lead to the conviction of the dragon? In this way, couldn’t they all act together? Wouldn’t their combined force be enough?

The war went on.

The women gathered around the flame, while the men took the city.

The rain makers looked down. They let the forests remain dry; therefore they burned down.

(“Hey, baby, I’m the dragon. My name’s Mons. Have a piece of fruit. It’s delicious. Quite up to date with the latest inserted genes. Come on. Try it.”)

The weapons keepers opened their storehouses, and the weak and feeble of the huge tribe took the devices to the soldiers on the front lines and retrieved the hot and broken ones and lugged them to makers for repair and rebuilding.

The children worked in the fields, capturing the harvest, transporting it to the sheds, where they cooked the meals and carried the immense pots to the soldiers in the rear of the lines.

(“Baby, you’re beautiful. And you’re married to that old bozo? What’s wrong with you? He’s ancient. Have some fruit and you’ll stay young forever. It has a special chemical on it. It protects you and keeps you healthy.”)

There were no doctors. The men fought and lived or fought and died. Later, much later, the wounds would heal, or not.

No one counted numbers. No one wrote history. The war was enveloping.

The few priests had long ago been captured. In their pens, they were permitted to make animal sacrifices and conduct ceremonies for victory. They had no books, no tablets, and the gods whose appeasement was marked through calendars of blood had no official names.

A few soldiers remembered an old line of kings, but the lineage had been destroyed in the distant past.

There were families. They were without names or titles.

Farmers, a distant breed apart, kept the animals and slaughtered them and sent their parts to the food makers.

(“Listen, sweetheart, I know you’re old doddering husband wants to kill me, but he’s just jealous. Look at my rippling muscles. Look at his wrinkled skin. I have my tree. It bears gorgeous fruit. Eat a piece and you’ll know who I am. You’ll leave that senile fool and live with me. We’ll have children who’ll be invincible.”)

Through the use of giant lenses, whose history was lost, fires were set, and with columns of the weak and infirm dragging corpses, dolls, and statues from old sackings, shadows of chimera troops were created and cast to confuse and distract. The shadow makers were revered.

They possessed secret knowledge. They planned attacks designed to use up resources of the enemy.

The death of a shadow maker was mourned in moments when battles waned. They were wrapped in skins glued together with marrow and clay, weighted with stones, and dropped into the river where their memories would flow into the great machine docks and keep the motors running, for the ships that came from the stars.

Those long-distance travelers executed their secret business in undersea caverns, stayed as long as they stayed, and then returned to their unknown worlds.

The war itself was fought to accumulate memories in every man, woman, and child, and were then harvested by the travelers from sleeping dreams. Everyone knew and accepted this state of affairs. War was, therefore, a high calling.

Memories could be translated into scrolls of silk that went on endlessly. Scrolls had been glimpsed now and then on the mountains. They were the traditional evidence of purpose.

Everyone remembered his or her own life in great detail. It was a point of pride. The discipline enhanced dreams.

Lf, who had been alive far longer than any of the people of the war, remembered days of rain, flood, the washing away of hills, the collapsing of canyons, the drowning of whole clans, the first arrival of the ships from space, the contract for dream harvest.

He lived deep in the forest with a wife. Her name endured: Chromogene. She kept a walking dragon in a tree. He ate the silk fruit and exuded spores that filled the whole territory. The spores infiltrated all plants and animals and changed them.

Eating the plants and animals, the people wanted to make war and they wanted to dream. That was the effect of their food.

Lf remembered when this was not so. The star travelers had brought the dragon to their lands.

Lf dreamed that with great effort, incurring wounds, he killed the dragon with an ax. He threw the bloody parts in the river.

A great voice came to him in the dream. It told him he had committed a heinous crime and would be exiled to the deserts with his wife.

The shadow makers came to him. They ordered him to stay. They would concoct a play of shapes and figures that would make it appear he and his wife had departed.

In the days to come, the whole tribe would gather and determine one dream. When they slept, they would spool out the same story of destruction of stars. They would bring down the heavens and make it impossible for the travelers to come back to the undersea caverns.

They would divert the river directly into the space docks and flood them.

They would enact revenge for the exile of their oldest man, Lf, and his wife.

As the war receded in memory, and became a story, they would realize, in fits and starts, that there had been no enemy. All the death and destruction had been incurred in fighting and killing among themselves.

With the star travelers gone, and their dragon killed, the growing fields and the food would return to their former state.

The people would no longer want to make war. They would no longer dream for the sake of their masters.

Lf woke from this dream. He wondered how he could assemble all his people and make them believe one central idea that would take them to victory.

(“My lovely, your husband is crazy. He’s been crazy for a long time. He lives in his own world. I’m exciting. I have power. I can change life. I can make life over into any shape I desire. I can help you. I can make you happy again. Eat this fruit.”)

Committee Member #2: “That’s it? That’s the story?”

Committee Member #3: “Obviously, it’s unfinished. Our people think the traitor was afraid he might be discovered, so he stopped loading it in mid-stream.”

Committee Member #2: “It’s crazy. It makes no sense. This tribe, or whatever they are? They just keep making war? Who are they?”

Committee Member #1: “Maybe they represent us, the corporation. Maybe they represent the people, the whole population of the planet.”

Committee Member #3: “No, we’re the dragon. We’re the snake in the Garden of Eden.”

“Committee Member #2: “What? What garden? There’s no garden in the story.”

Committee Member #1: “Metaphor. Allegory. NSA people tried to figure out how one of our employees could have evaded security protection. So far, they’ve come up with nothing.”

Committee Member #2: “Forget the whole thing. Let’s just move on. It’s a piece of nonsense. We’ve got bigger fish to fry. Africa, South America. We’re running into stiff opposition.”

Committee Member #3: “We have to step up our timetable. Operation Gene Drift has to accelerate. Once every plant on the planet contains our genes, what can anyone do? We creating a new world. Let’s not dilly-dally. We want to supersede the natural world and make a synthetic world, right? The way to overcome our enemies, all of them, is to win decisively. Let’s not forget, we’re part of a larger plan. Ultimately, we can control the food supply and decide who eats and who doesn’t. Not only that, but because our genes get into humans, and because brain research is leading to ways of making over brain function, we’re well on the way to inventing a new species of human. This is what we’re shooting for. The human as a technological artifact. A programmed artifact. We and our allies are the body snatchers.”

Committee Member #1: “Agreed. But you know, last night I had a brief dream. I was in that diabolical story myself. It was a very unpleasant feeling. The whole population was waking up. They were seeing us as dragons. They were distracting us with shadows. They were cutting off our business connections and communication channels. It stirred up memories I didn’t even know I had. Memories of some earlier time when events were played out on a mythic level, when there was good and evil. When forces were alive that could destroy evil.”

Committee Member #2: “Fortunately, that time has passed. There is no more good or evil. There’s just business. And we have every right to gain an edge, because if we don’t, someone else will. Keep the focus, gentlemen. We live in the age of selling and buying. There are no rules for how you sell or buy. You do whatever it takes. There are still myths, but they’re scientific. Our myth is genes. We tell our own tales about them. We give them extraordinary healing power. Whether that healing is real or imaginary is immaterial. We tell a story so we can sell. The consequences are other people’s concerns. This is our model. It works. Business IS a god. Without it, the world would collapse. Therefore, we have a duty to make our company bloom. Maybe we’re the shadow makers, staging a shadow play, pretending to a science that doesn’t exist. If so, it makes no difference. All speed ahead!”

Attention: Roundup damages sperm

Attention: Roundup damages sperm

by Jon Rappoport

July 16, 2014

www.nomorefakenews.com

GM Watch, June 13: “Roundup damages sperm—new study.”

“A new study in rats found that Roundup altered testicular function after only 8 days of exposure at a concentration of only 0.5%, similar to levels found in water after agricultural spraying…”

“The study found no difference in sperm concentration, viability and mobility, but there was an increase in abnormal sperm formation measured 2, 3, and 4 months after this short exposure.”

“Roundup was found to change gene expression in sperm cells, which could alter the balance of the sex hormones androgen and estrogen. A negative impact on sperm quality was confirmed, raising questions about impaired sperm efficiency. The authors suggested that repeated exposures to Roundup at doses lower than those used in agriculture could damage mammalian reproduction over the long term.”

Monsanto’s Roundup, the most widely used herbicide in the world—from gigantic farms to home gardens—has the potential to disrupt human reproduction.

Shall we call this big-ag depopulation?

Examine any territory on Earth where farming is done on a large scale, and you will find Monsanto and its allies (e.g., Bill Gates) exerting enormous pressure to expand GMO crops—the food-plants specifically designed to survive drenching with Roundup.

This is a modern version of the Trojan Horse. Offer the GMO gift, poison the population.

Monsanto is headquartered in the US. No federal agency has lifted a finger to prosecute or limit Monsanto’s operations.

The two agencies that could take an ax to Monsanto, opening the door to prosecution by the Dept. of Justice, are the FDA and the USDA.

Deputy commissioner of the FDA, the new food-safety-issues czar? The infamous Michael Taylor, former vice-president for public policy for Monsanto. Taylor was instrumental in winning approval for Monsanto’s genetically engineered bovine growth hormone.

Commissioner of the USDA? Ex-Iowa Governor Tom Vilsack. Vilsack had set up a national group, the Governors’ Biotechnology Partnership, and had been given a Governor of the Year Award by the Biotechnology Industry Organization, whose members include Monsanto.

The USDA’s director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture? Roger Beachy, former director of the Monsanto Danforth Center.

The counsel for the USDA? Ramona Romero, who had been corporate counsel for another biotech giant, DuPont.

Prospective candidate for US President? Hillary Clinton, whose former law firm, Rose, was counsel to Monsanto.

Current President? Barack Obama, who, during his tenure, saw the appointments of the above Taylor, Vilsack, Beachy, and Romero to their key posts.

power outside the matrix

Obama also permitted, without pause, the entry of the following new GMO crops into the food supply:

* Monsanto GMO alfalfa.

* Monsanto GMO sugar beets.

* Monsanto GMO Bt soybean.

* Monsanto GMO sweet corn.

* Syngenta GMO corn for ethanol.

* Syngenta GMO stacked corn.

* Pioneer GMO soybean.

* Syngenta GMO Bt cotton.

* Bayer GMO cotton.

* ATryn, an anti-clotting agent from the milk of transgenic goats.

* A GMO papaya strain.

This track record should clear up any confusion Obama’s supporters still have about his position on Roundup and GMOs.

A full-on federal criminal prosecution of Monsanto will happen when mosquitos pilot a space ship to Jupiter.

The future of human reproduction is simply not an issue worthy of government attention. Strike that. Favoring Roundup-induced lower birth rates (aka depopulation) ranks as attention, doesn’t it?

Secret studies proving Monsanto sells poison

Secret studies proving Monsanto sells poison

by Jon Rappoport

July 3, 2014

www.nomorefakenews.com

Claire Robinson has written a stunning article exposing hidden proof Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide is poison:

“The glyphosate toxicity studies you’re not allowed to see,” gmwatch.org, July 2, 2014.

Glyphosate is the main ingredient in Roundup, Monsanto’s product, which is used in hurricane-like proportions on GMO crops.

Robinson doesn’t baldly assert these secret studies prove the poisonous nature of Roundup, but her piece certainly leads to that conclusion.

Here are the facts:

In China, this year, the Ministry of Agriculture admitted that legalizing the import of Roundup was based on a single toxicology test done in St. Louis.

Monsanto then stated, as Robinson reports, “that the study constituted its own commercial secret, adding that the company had never disclosed the study anywhere in the world and did not agree to disclose it now.”

Why not? Because the study proved Roundup was safe? Are you kidding?

In Europe, two studies on Roundup toxicity are also hidden in the closet.

The European Food Safety Authority and German regulators, Robinson states, “have refused… requests to release the studies, on the grounds that they are commercially confidential information.”

In other words, the studies are owned by a corporation(s).

No problem. Nothing is riding on the results of those studies except the health of the population of Europe.

In 2011, a group called Earth Open Source issued a report: “Roundup and birth defects: Is the public being kept in the dark?”

Robinson writes: “The report found that industry’s own studies conducted in the 1980s and 1990s showed that glyphosate causes birth defects in experimental animals. While the industry studies themselves are held by the German government and remain secret, the Earth Open Source authors examined Germany’s summary report on the studies, which is in the public domain. This report was submitted to the EU Commission and led to glyphosate’s European approval in 2002.”

What?!

Germany’s summary report invented various “redefinitions” of birth defects that downplayed their significance, and Roundup was approved for sale.

And again, the actual studies are being held secret.

Let’s see. Studies on the toxicity of Roundup are hidden by Monsanto and government regulators. The studies are called “corporate property.” That’s the justification.

“We own this science and we’re not releasing it. But don’t worry, it’s not important, you’re safe, Roundup is safe, it’s all good.”

power outside the matrix

Here’s the bottom line. If corporate science is used to justify the safety of corporate products, then that science must be made public in every detail, so it can be examined by people who don’t owe their souls to the corporations.

Anyone who stands in the way of this happening is a rank criminal.

But in this respect, we live in a lawless society. Government protects the corporations and itself.

The US Justice Department wouldn’t arrest and prosecute Monsanto executives who hide toxicity data in a million years.

But poisoning Americans? No problem.

China protects its massive Army from GMOs

by Jon Rappoport

June 4, 2014

(To join our email list, click here.)

Worldwide sentiment is shifting against Monsanto and GMO food crops. And China is making major moves.

At sustainablepulse.com, we have this May 14, 2014, article: “Chinese Army Bans All GMO Grains and Oil from Supply Stations”:

“The Chinese army has ordered all military supply stations to only allow the purchase of non-GMO grain and food oil due to health safety concerns over GMOs.

“This move by the Chinese army is being seen as yet another step towards the Chinese government’s expected ban on the import of all GMO grains and oilseeds within the next 2 years, due to growing public concern over GMOs. The expected ban would be a huge blow to the Biotech industry worldwide.

“The Hubei Province Xiangyang City Grain Bureau’s website announced on May 6, 2014:

“’During recent years, as China’s grain and oil market has continuously developed, certain GMO grain and GMO food oil products have entered the market. In view that the safety concerns about GMO grain and oil products in China at present has not yet been determined, in order to overall assure the health of military members residing in our city and safety of their drinks and food, in accordance to the request from the Guangzhou Military Command Joint Logistics Department and the Provincial Military Grain & Food Oil Supply Center, from this date all military supply stations are allowed to only purchase non-GMO grain and food oil products from the designated processing enterprises. It is forbidden to supply GMO grain and food oil products to military units within their administration areas.

“’Chen I-wan, an Advisor to the Committee of Disaster History to the China Disaster Prevention Association has stated: “The army has established [an] excellent model for people of the whole nation: No GMO staple food and GMO food oil should enter the army food supply.”

China—protecting its Army from GMOs. And soon, perhaps the entire population of the country.

Apparently, Chinese GMO science differs from American GMO science, where a mere nod and a wink between the FDA and Monsanto, 20 years ago, launched a big Ag revolution that continues to contaminate US lands.

China, by the way, is home to 20% of the world’s population. “GMO-free China” has an interesting ring. Which domino will fall next? India, where 17% of the Earth’s people live, where farmers who have been duped and bankrupted by Monsanto, have been committing suicide in large numbers?

Then there is Russia. Putin recently declared, in reference to a possible ban on GMOs: “We need to properly construct our work so that it is not contrary to our obligations under the WTO. But even with this in mind, we nevertheless have legitimate methods and instruments to protect our own market, and above all citizens.”

Likewise, groups in Africa are pushing back against the US/Monsanto/Bill Gates plan to flood the continent with GMO crops.

In all these cases, world leaders outside the US are seeing the GMO sell-job as an attempt to extend American hegemony, through what amounts to an act of war.

Well, what else would you call artificial gene-contamination and poisoning by herbicides?

Is there a GMO-chemtrail connection?

Is there a GMO-chemtrail connection?

by Jon Rappoport

May 21, 2014

www.nomorefakenews.com

In a groundbreaking article at farmwars.info, Barbara Peterson makes a stunning connection between GMO food crops and chemtrails. (“Monsanto Patents and Chemtrails”)

Peterson has looked into a Monsanto patent that expands the genetic engineering of food crops.

Engineering for what purpose? Overcoming the destructive presence of heavy metals like aluminum and barium in the soil.

These are metals which have often been reported in globally sprayed chemtrails.

So is Monsanto going to offer yet another version of low-nutrient fake frankenfood, as an answer to chemtrails? And if so, was this the plan all along?

As Peterson reports, the Monsanto patent is titled, “Stress tolerant plants and methods thereof.” It has two identifying numbers. The patent application is 11/961962, and the patent number is 7851676. The publication date is 12/14/10.

Here are quotes from relevant sections:

“Described herein are inventions in the field of plant molecular biology and plant genetic engineering…The transgenic [engineered] plants are characterized by improved stress tolerance.”

“Improvement of abiotic stress tolerance in plants would be an agronomic advantage to growers allowing enhanced growth and/or germination in cold, drought, flood, heat, UV stress, ozone increases, acid rain, pollution, salt stress, heavy metals, mineralized soils, and other abiotic stresses.”

The new GMO food-plants are specifically designed to be resistant to heavy metals, which happen to be present in chemtrails. And as well, the plants are clearly envisioned for the purpose of resisting all manner of pollution.

On the surface, this might seem like a good thing. But it really means: corporate designed food is supposed to feed people in a world where the actual removal of toxic pollution can be ignored.

And the new GMO food, if it follows the pattern of what we’ve seen so far, will turn out to be low-nutrient, and will require more spraying of toxic herbicides.

Are we, in fact, looking at a solution that is worse than the problem? Problem: chemtrails. Solution: More GMO food.

There is a clear parallel in modern pharmaceutical medicine. Problem: illness (which is often misdiagnosed for self-serving purposes). Solution: prescribe toxic drugs.

The Matrix Revealed

Here, we could be seeing the same sort of pattern. First chemtrails; then new herbicide-drenched low-nutrient food that is supposed to resist the effects of heavy metals. Then, new levels of crop failure and human illness.

Ask yourself this. What food crop could possibly be engineered to withstand the effects of increasing heavy metals in the soil?

The kind of natural healthy food you want to eat? Or some kind of chimera of food, a plant that looks like the real thing but is merely an outer envelope with no real substance? A shadow of its former self.

Talk about staged events.

“Yes, well, with all this chemtrail activity, and other industrial pollution of the soil and water with heavy metals, we need to create new food crops that won’t fold up and die. We need to stage what looks like, but isn’t, good food. It has to look like a beautiful healthy crop, but of course it’ll be delivering very little nutritive value. Because the heavy metals are very poisonous—and there is no way a real food crop can survive in their presence. So we’ll design fake food. It’ll be like a Christmas party where all the pretty boxes wrapped in colored paper and ribbons are empty inside…”

Barack Obama and the Monsanto betrayal

Barack Obama and the Monsanto betrayal

by Jon Rappoport

May 7, 2014

www.nomorefakenews.com

Under the selective radar of mainstream media, Barack Obama has been carving out a whole new level of support for Monsanto and other destructive biotech giants.

From Scott Creighton, “Obama Pitches India Model of GM Genocide to Africa”:

“At the G8 Summit held two weeks ago at Camp David, President Obama met with private industry and African heads of state to launch the New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition, a euphemism for monocultured, genetically modified crops and toxic agrochemicals aimed at making poor farmers debt slaves to corporations, while destroying the ecosphere for profit.

“But African civil society wants no part of this latest Monsanto aligned ‘public private partnership.’ Whatever will the progressives do now that their flawless hero has teamed up with their most hated nemesis [Monsanto] to exploit an entire continent like they did to India not that long ago?…

“With a commitment of $3 billion, Obama plans to ‘partner up’ with mega-multinationals like Monsanto, Diageo, Dupont, Cargill, Vodafone, Walmart, Pepsico, Prudential, Syngenta International, and Swiss Re because, as one USAID representative says ‘There are things that only companies can do, like building silos for storage and developing seeds and fertilizers.’

“Of course, that’s an outrageous lie. Private citizens have been building their own silos for centuries. But it’s true that only the biowreck engineers will foist patented seeds and toxic chemicals on Africa.”

Under the guise of replacing the “donor-recipient model” of charity with “smart business development that’s a win-win for everybody,” a new level of corporate-government colonialism is aimed at the continent of Africa. The new and improved strategy means bigger profits for the few and greater suffering and displacement for the many.

Support self-sufficiency for the small farmer? Expand the number of small farms growing nutritious and non-toxic food? Never heard of it. Not on the agenda—except in false propaganda statements and promises.

No, instead, the idea is putting small farmers into debt to Monsanto for GMO seeds and highly toxic herbicides, so they can grow (until they go bankrupt) noxious GMO food crops. Small farms will eventually be snapped up by big ag corporations.

Obama? A warrior against corporations on behalf of the people? It’s long past the time for ripping that false mask away.

During his 2008 campaign for president, Barack Obama transmitted signals that he understood the GMO issue. Several key anti-GMO activists were impressed. They thought Obama, once in the White House, would listen to their concerns and act on them.

These activists weren’t just reading tea leaves. On the campaign trail, Obama said: “Let folks know when their food is genetically modified, because Americans have a right to know what they’re buying.”

Making the distinction between GMO and non-GMO was certainly an indication that Obama, unlike the FDA and USDA, saw there was an important line to draw in the sand.

Beyond that, Obama was promising a new era of transparency in government. He was adamant in assuring that, if elected, his administration wouldn’t do business in “the old way.” He would be “responsive to people’s needs.”

Then came the reality.

After the election, people who had been working to label GMO food and warn the public of its huge dangers were shocked to the core. They saw Obama had been pulling a bait and switch.

After the 2008 election, Obama filled key posts with Monsanto people, in federal agencies that wield tremendous force in food issues, the USDA and the FDA:

At the USDA, as the director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, Roger Beachy, former director of the Monsanto Danforth Center.

As deputy commissioner of the FDA, the new food-safety-issues czar, the infamous Michael Taylor, former vice-president for public policy for Monsanto. Taylor had been instrumental in getting approval for Monsanto’s genetically engineered bovine growth hormone.

As commissioner of the USDA, Iowa governor, Tom Vilsack. Vilsack had set up a national group, the Governors’ Biotechnology Partnership, and had been given a Governor of the Year Award by the Biotechnology Industry Organization, whose members include Monsanto.

As the new Agriculture Trade Representative, who would push GMOs for export, Islam Siddiqui, a former Monsanto lobbyist.

As the new counsel for the USDA, Ramona Romero, who had been corporate counsel for another biotech giant, DuPont.

As the new head of the USAID, Rajiv Shah, who had previously worked in key positions for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a major funder of GMO agriculture research.

We should also remember that Obama’s secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, once worked for the Rose law firm. That firm was counsel to Monsanto.

Obama nominated Elena Kagan to the US Supreme Court. Kagan, as federal solicitor general, had previously argued for Monsanto in the Monsanto v. Geertson seed case before the Supreme Court.

The deck was stacked. Obama hadn’t simply made honest mistakes. Obama hadn’t just failed to exercise proper oversight in selecting appointees. He wasn’t just experiencing a failure of short-term memory. He was staking out territory on behalf of Monsanto and other GMO corporate giants.

And now let us look at what key Obama appointees have wrought for their true bosses. Let’s see what GMO crops have walked through the open door of the Obama presidency.

Monsanto GMO alfalfa.

Monsanto GMO sugar beets.

Monsanto GMO Bt soybean.

Coming soon: Monsanto’s GMO sweet corn.

Syngenta GMO corn for ethanol.

Syngenta GMO stacked corn.

Pioneer GMO soybean.

Syngenta GMO Bt cotton.

Bayer GMO cotton.

ATryn, an anti-clotting agent from the milk of transgenic goats.

A GMO papaya strain.

And perhaps, soon, genetically engineered salmon and apples.

This is an extraordinary parade. It, in fact, makes Barack Obama the most GMO-dedicated politician in America.

You don’t attain that position through errors or oversights. Obama was, all along, a stealth operative on behalf of Monsanto, biotech, GMOs, and corporate control of the future of agriculture.

power outside the matrix

From this perspective, Michelle Obama’s campaign for gardens and clean, organic, nutritious food is nothing more than a diversion, a cover story floated to obscure what her husband has actually been doing.

Nor is it coincidental that two of the Obama’s biggest supporters, Bill Gates and George Soros, purchased 900,000 and 500,000 shares of Monsanto, respectively, in 2010.

We are talking about a president who presented himself, and was believed by many to be, an extraordinary departure from politics as usual.

Not only was that a wrong assessment, Obama was lying all along. He was, and he still is, Monsanto’s man in Washington.

To those people who fight for GMO labeling and the outlawing of GMO crops, and against the decimation of the food supply and the destruction of human health, but still believe Obama is a beacon in bleak times:

Wake up.
