Yes, I believe my collection, Power Outside The Matrix can help people who want to become writers or much better writers. I did my best to make it a rocket for writers.

A writer can invoke all sorts of reasons to stop writing. He can choose from thousands of excuses.

But I want to focus on the type of excuse that comes from evidence. For example, over a period of years, the writer has accumulated information that leads him to believe the human race is doomed and nothing can be done to change that.

Therefore, why write?

Why? Because there is a higher priority. YOU FIGHT, NO MATTER WHAT.

Once you digest THAT, you’re back in business.

And of course, there is counter-evidence, too, because the war for freedom that has been going on since people lived in caves is never over. We’re talking about the long and true view. 10,000, 20,000 years into the future.

I’ve known writers who gave up because they turned into dyed in the wool cynics. They gave away everything. They submitted to “an objective assessment of humanity.”

But writing isn’t objective. It never was.

It can use facts, but that’s just the beginning of what it is.

Writing is ultimately about writers.

When is commitment really a commitment? When it carries the day, come hell or high water.

If a writer has that, everything else falls into place. If he doesn’t have that, nothing works. It falls apart.

I’ve been writing for 67 years. On perhaps half of all those days, I paused—TEMPORARILY. I had nothing in mind—FOR THE MOMENT. But I knew that an idea, a thought, a phrase would come to me, and then I’d be off and running again.

And it did, and I was, usually in a matter of hours.

Because I wanted to write. Because I was committed.

You keep going long enough, for enough years, and your energy expands. It doesn’t fade away. You can do more, not less.

You SEE that problems, troubles, and excuses are NOTHING compared to your commitment and desire. It’s no contest.

No writer thinks reality is just fine as it is. He’s always reaching for more. He’s always overturning reality.

And there is much to overturn, at many levels. There is no lack of material to work with.

Society at large is always holding out its hand and making promises involving: surrender, giving in; allied with perks, freebies, groups to join, causes to uphold, victim plot lines to embroider. All of THAT is sensational material a writer can work with. As long as he doesn’t take the bait himself.

“Should I sit down and write 5000 words or eat the cotton-candy of the State?”

“Should I remain an individual or disappear into a group?”

The voice of a writer has clear answers. It engraves those answers for public consumption.

It announces that something the State can never touch will never die.

My instructions to writers in my Power Outside The Matrix collection aren’t a cage you climb into.

Don’t think about writing as a cage.

You’re outside, not inside.

That should be why you’re a writer.

In my tutorial, I’m not laying down hard and fast rules. I’m not asking for obedience. I give you tools, but you decide how to use them. And you never become a slave to your tools.

If you do opt for slavery, your writing is going to strike the ear in an artificial way. It won’t ring bells. It’ll clang. It’ll come across as trumped-up.

I aim to liberate writers, not pin them down.

Once you feel free and write free, you can shape your work in all sorts of different ways. If you start out trying to shape your work, you’ll stall and dead end.

You’re not aiming to be a trained monkey.

We already have far too many of those.

And let me say something about the craft of writing. You know where you pick that up? From reading other writers. It comes through to you by osmosis. It’s the way a child learns to speak. He listens to people speaking, and he grasps what’s happening.

It’s wholesale, not retail.

Faith, self-belief, and determination are wellsprings of a writer. And when faith falters, determination is the key. You’re going to write, no matter what, come hell or high water.

That works.

In Power Outside The Matrix, my goal is to transmit the electricity of being a writer. In all my discussions, I come back to that.

Because, you see, being a writer is a LIFE.

It’s not just a career. The career comes out of the life.

Far too many people in this world opt for a career and then try to make a life out of it. That’s normal. That’s standard. That’s a long street that narrows and turns into an alley that ends at a blank wall.

If I loaded you down with tips and tricks and rules, I’d be directing you to that alley. I’d never do that.

Writers give us what we need.

The Monolith: How I put together The Matrix Revealed

In 1987, when I was researching my book, AIDS INC., I took a side road. It was prompted by a conversation I had with Jack True. He was telling me about experiences he’d had with his patients under hypnosis.

“Some patients present with a monolith,” he said. “They come across a symbol that is there in the subconscious. Sometimes it looks like a closed door. Sometimes it shows up as a blank wall. Sometimes it’s a geometric shape. One patient actually called it a ‘brick sky.’

“But in every case, it locked up the patient’s ability to recall or explore under hypnosis. It was like a giant obstruction on a road. However, these patients could describe something about the nature of the symbol. In every case, they said it was broadcasting a message: ‘THIS IS REALITY.’

“The patients were in awe of the symbol. It had a deep emotional effect on them. It was as if many different realities had come together to form this single mass, like separate pieces clicking into place.”

Jack went further. He stated that the symbol induced a profound passivity in his patients, as if they’d come upon a force greater than anything they could overcome.

Jack subsequently devised strategies to take apart the mass, the symbol, so that these patients could rid themselves of their passivity and access huge amounts of previously blocked energies.

Well, I was blown away, because my research on my book had followed a parallel course. I’ll explain.

The AIDS cover story that had been invented by medical researchers was all about One Reality, one disease condition caused by one virus, one description about how the infection destroyed the immune system, one label, one symbol for the condition: “AIDS”.

When, in fact, that was “the obstruction on the road” which was blocking further investigation. In fact, the whole “Oneness” myth was a lie. A gigantic lie.

A very, very convincing lie. An awesome lie.

The truth was, so-called AIDS was many different conditions (realities) which had been falsely welded together, through massive propaganda.

That was the key to unlocking the puzzle. And it was the key for me to move into new territory with new energy and confidence.

I’d been stalled at the wall, but now I could advance.

The awesome symbol, “AIDS,” had been shattered to pieces.

Since the publication of my book, I’ve of course investigated a number of other subjects, and in each case, there was a symbol, a monolith, an obstruction, and in every case I’ve taken the monolith apart to discover that it’s hiding a plurality of scandals and crimes and deceptions.

The One concealing The Many.

These monoliths are very, very effective because—and this is vitally important to understand—they mirror the tendency of the subconscious mind to fall to its knees before A Single Symbol, a Monolith.

People gravitate to single causes, single explanations, single symbols in every area of life, and they don’t penetrate further.

This is an aspect of the Matrix.

False unities are the meat and potatoes of very high-level propaganda. They are launched in politics, economics, organized religion, science, psychology, the military, mind control, in all the academic disciplines.

As an analogy, consider a painting in which the three-dimensional perspective has been radically shortened to eliminate the background. But the background is really where all the action is. The foreground is the false Oneness.

Grasping all of this allowed me to go further than I thought possible in putting together The Matrix Revealed. My method of investigation altered radically, and I hit paydirt.

The Matrix is a multi-layered, multi-dimensional operation, seeded with delusions that collaborate with the subconscious tendency to buy those delusions.

Your freedom and full power emerge when the subconscious is made conscious.

Exit From The Matrix: The Dark Trap

The night is long, and the search is weird. Clues appear, and yet they unendingly point to other clues…and what is the real shape of the expedition? Is it a trap? Do the markers on the road produce nothing more than a closed circle?

The Outsider is an individual who looks at the complexity of events in today’s world, as he decides WHAT TO DO.

These events can seem to form a labyrinth. They’re connected in ways that bind them to each other. One path leads to another, and eventually, the individual finds himself back where he started—but not before going on a long strange trip in the maze.

During that trip, he loses contact with his own deep desires, because he is fascinated and exhausted by the details of the labyrinth.

An apt analogy would be a treasure map. It promises victory and triumph, but as the seeker follows the thread, he enters a realm of cognitive dissonance, a dance in which he seems to be coming closer and yet moving further from the ultimate prize.

Authors and researchers have offered their interpretations of the nature of the trip: there are false trails; the mystery of life will always remain a mystery; the “invisible rulers” know how to hide themselves from the seeker…

Leaving these conclusions aside, I find that the individual’s true desire can be summarized in the question: WHAT DO I WANT TO CREATE?

Answering that question, and acting on the answer with full commitment, energy, determination, and power eventually, casts a bright light on the maze and reveals its patterns and its tricks.

In other words, there is a foundation from which the individual can launch his future, and that foundation is within his grasp—as I’ve just indicated.

Moving out from that platform, he gains new perspective. He sees the world in a new way. He stays outside the labyrinth, and he is able to act on it.

Otherwise, he sinks into it.

What I’m talking about here is more than advice. It’s a different slant on metaphysics. Traditionally, metaphysics concocts a picture of Reality in an ultimate form…and a cursory scan of Western philosophy reveals that every philosopher paints a different picture. However, a philosophy rooted in the individual turns up something else. It exposes the need for him to embark on creating the fulfillment of his deep desire in the world; and as a bonus, he has A MEANS FOR SEEING DEEPER REALITY ON HIS OWN.

That is how elevated seeing happens.

This is not a quick fix that occurs in three seconds or three minutes. This is not instant gratification. The maze promises instant pleasure. That is one of its strategies, designed for the more gullible among us.

The greatest secrets are the secrets we hide from ourselves.

That is how the labyrinth gains its power.

But the individual has greater power, and it is inherent in him:

CREATIVE POWER.

What has been called The Matrix is a series of layers. These layers compose what we call Reality. Reality is not merely the consensus people accept in their daily lives. It is also a personal and individual conception of limits. It is a perception that these limits are somehow built into existence. But this is not true.

What I’ve done here is remove the lid on those perceived limits. This isn’t an intellectual undertaking. It’s a way to open up space and step on to a new road, with new power.

The Matrix Revealed: My interviews on ‘Worlds upon Worlds’ in the mind

In one section of my mega-collection, The Matrix Revealed, I conduct many interviews with the most brilliant practitioner of hypnotherapy I’ve ever met, Jack True.

Part of his brilliance was giving up the practice of hypnotizing people—because he saw that at a deep level, they were already hypnotized.

His radical solution involved engaging their imaginations. This was not easy. He once told me, “People are asleep to the degree that they’ve forgotten what imagination can do.”

Jack had great skill in waking up people’s imaginations.

When he did, he found that they were harboring “whole worlds” in their minds. Untapped worlds, far different from this one. Worlds in which space and time were different. Logic was different.

Readers who’ve been with me for a while know I’ve written a great deal about imagination. My collection Exit From the Matrix puts together more than 50 exercises and techniques for expanding the scope, range, and power of imagination.

Why? Because imagination is the quality that outdoes reality. Any kind of reality. Imagination is the infinite road.

Consciousness wants to create new consciousness, and it can. Imagination is how it does it. If there were some ultimate state of consciousness, imagination would always be able to play another card and take it further.

In any arena of life, and especially when it comes to mind, perception, power, empathy, and so on, there is always a status quo. It’s the place where a person says, “Well, that’s enough. I’ll settle for what I have. I’ll stop here.”

Sooner or later, this leads to boredom, frustration, problems, and conflict. It leads to a decline.

Imagination, which knows no bounds, is the source for the most adventurous explorations. It can have great impact on the material world, of course, but one mustn’t therefore conclude it is composed of matter or energy. Imagination is non-material. To think otherwise winds you up in using some version of physics to depict imagination—and then you are imposing limits on it. This is an error. Imagination doesn’t obey any laws of physics.

If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, we’ve flattered reality enough. It doesn’t need any more. Imagination creates new realities.

You can create the same thing over and over, and eventually you’ll be about as alive as a table. Inject imagination into the mix, and everything suddenly changes. You can steer that boat anywhere you want to. You can build worlds.

The lowest common denominator of consensus implies an absence of imagination. Everyone agrees; everyone is bored; everyone is obedient. On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are massive floods of unique individual creation, and then that sought-after thing called abundance is as natural as the sun rising in the morning.

Sitting around in a cosmic bus station waiting for reality is what reality is. Everything else is imagination.

There are those who believe life is a museum. You walk through the rooms, find one painting, stroll into it and take up permanent residence. But the museum is endless. If you were a painter, you’d never decide to live inside one of your canvases forever. You’d keep on painting.

The relentless and obsessive search for all those things on which we can agree is a confession of bankruptcy.

When we re-learn to live through and by imagination, we enter and invent new space and time. But space and time aren’t superior forces. They come into being at the tap of imagination.

With imagination, one can solve a problem. More importantly, one can skip ahead of the problem and render it null and void.

There are a billion murals on a billion walls, and a person chooses one and falls down before it and devotes himself to it. He spends a thousand years trying to decipher it. So be it. This isn’t imagination.

Imagination isn’t a system. It might invent systems, but it is non-material. It’s a capacity. It feels no compulsion to imitate reality. It makes realities. Its scope is limited only by a person’s imagining of how far imagination can go.

The human race is obsessed by the question: what exists? It appears to be a far easier question than: what do you want to imagine? This comparison explains why civilizations decline.

Imagination is a path. Walking on that path long enough, you find answers to all the questions you’ve ever asked. You also find power that people dream of.

The Matrix Revealed: The Trick Behind Occult Systems

It should be obvious to readers who’ve been with me for a while that I attack delusion in more than one place. Political systems, medical systems…and so-called spiritual systems.

That’s because I happen to believe in legitimate limited government, healing, and the unbounded life of the individual spiritual being.

Occult systems, which propose they have a hidden secret at the core, which will be revealed after a long and exhaustive search, are, at best, deluded, because they are concealing CONTENT.

By content, I mean information, knowledge, pattern, some facet of what already exists. This is a dead-end.

There is nothing wrong with truthful information. But….

Suppose we had a secret society called The Inner Core Flame X42. And we sold our members on the idea that, after a series of ascending initiations, they would arrive at the X, the secret of secrets.

Well, what could X be? Some nugget of information, some formula or phrase or fact or made-up fact about existence that is supposed to solve problems and enlighten consciousness.

But consciousness is dynamic. It isn’t a key looking for a lock.

Consciousness is dynamic because it creates. It creates new realities.

It isn’t primarily a container for What Is, for what already exists.

If there is a secret about consciousness, that’s it. IT CREATES.

So no matter what X we cooked up, it would become obsolete, of minor value.

Humans are ripe for buying an X because they are trained, and train themselves, to place the highest value on What Already Exists.

That’s mind control par excellence.

Occult systems deliver what controlled minds expect, and that’s why they’ve flourished. That’s the only reason why.

But there is another way.

When a person sees the “artistic” blow-by-blow creation of these power structures, in progress—rather than the finished product—an entirely new consciousness arises.

“If they can create Reality for me, I can create my own.”

“If they are artists, I can be an artist, too—but in an entirely different direction.”

The Matrix ceases to be a monolith. It is revealed as an ongoing weave, and one can see the process at work.

Then, one’s own insight operates on behalf of liberation.

A person can actually see how he cooperates in the progression of accepting “the weave.”

And he sees other options.

Therefore, as I put together The Matrix Revealed, I made sure to show Matrix as a work in process, an ongoing enterprise, a work of art, as it were, that can be dismantled—as a person takes another road of his own.

This is vital. It transforms victimization into inspiration.

Power Outside The Matrix: Journalism that blows the Big Vault open

Yes, I believe my collection, Power Outside The Matrix can help people who want to become writers or much better writers. I did my best to make it a rocket for writers.

There comes a moment for a relentless reporter who goes down a rabbit hole long enough…

He finds something so explosive it would turn the world on its head.

I’m not talking about a mere riveting scandal or a parochial crime.

I’m talking about something far deeper and far more corrosive to WIDELY accepted reality.

What to do?

This is when the imperative to ATTACK becomes absolutely necessary.

And the big clue is this: attack along multiple vectors, and keep it up.

You can’t go half-way. If you do, the story and the truth will be wiped out, or a lesser version of it will be shoved out front for public consumption—the limited hangout.

If you go half-way, there’s a chance YOU’LL go down with the story.

Either walk away or go all the way.

“But I wrote about it and nothing happened.”

So what? Write about it 16 times. 50 times. Don’t stop. If you don’t see the explosion you’re hoping for, know the truth you’re telling is crawling its way into minds. It’s eating its way in. Other writers are thinking about it, walking around it, picking up on pieces of it and publishing.

You’re a fighter, you’re in the ring, and this will go on for 100 rounds. Or more. Unless you throw in the towel and quit, sitting on your stool in the corner.

This is more than you thought it was. Absolutely. That’s when the thing called DESIRE comes up.

What are you in this for?

Do you want to singe the shutters on the windows, or do you want to burn the whole house down?

The degree of the quickening of your blood and your brain will give you the answer.

And there’s another factor, too. Do you ENJOY overturning Reality itself on a grand scale?

If so, you’re in the right place.

Turn the screws. Don’t just report the astounding facts. Draw up the implications and launch them. Describe all the ripples. Leave no doubt as to how much Reality has just been destroyed.

These implications will come to you as you’re writing. If you’re ready for them. If you’re sniffing for the big, bigger, and biggest picture.

You’d better be.

You can’t just be a person with his nose to the wheel. You can’t just record the turning and breaking of the gears. You have to come to see what all this MEANS, and you have to blow the meaning(s) up into one vivid photograph after another for the reader.

Don’t leave it to chance.

This is where you separate yourself from the pack. Because although other writers will agree with you over time, many of them or most of them don’t want to come to grips with the IMPLICATIONS the facts are exposing. They want to build walls around the facts and put facts under microscopes. They want to confine the story. You want to blow it open.

You got into the vault. You led other people there. Now they want to pull out a dozen choice safety deposit boxes and see what’s in them, and they want to count the total amount of cash sitting in bags. You want to pull out every goddamn deposit box and examine the contents. You want to make sure you understand where all that cash came from.

And as you’re seeing, in the wreckage of the vault, the truth of it all swimming into view in successive waves, you’re writing and publishing, and as you realize one fantastic implication after another, you’re laying out each one in its full glowing form.

And no one has to tell you, you have to be a WRITER, too. You see that. You know that. In order to tell the whole story, it’s imperative.

So you ARE a writer. You keep pushing out one piece after another, and you’re up to the task. You find the words. Words come to you.

As you write and read what you’re writing, you’re catapulting yourself higher and you’re drilling yourself deeper into the new world you’re shaping—from the facts.

And there you are, and there it is.

In Power Outside The Matrix, my Writer’s Tutorial — my instructions to writers, aren’t a cage you climb into.

Don’t think about writing as a cage.

You’re outside, not inside.

That should be why you’re a writer.

In my tutorial, I’m not laying down hard and fast rules. I’m not asking for obedience. I give you tools, but you decide how to use them. And you never become a slave to your tools.

If you do opt for slavery, your writing is going to strike the ear in an artificial way. It won’t ring bells. It’ll clang. It’ll come across as trumped-up.

I aim to liberate writers, not pin them down.

Once you feel free and write free, you can shape your work in all sorts of different ways. If you start out trying to shape your work, you’ll stall and dead end.

You’re not aiming to be a trained monkey.

We already have far too many of those.

And let me say something about the craft of writing. You know where you pick that up? From reading other writers. It comes through to you by osmosis. It’s the way a child learns to speak. He listens to people speaking, and he grasps what’s happening.

It’s wholesale, not retail.

Faith, self-belief, and determination are wellsprings of a writer. And when faith falters, determination is the key. You’re going to write, no matter what, come hell or high water.

That works.

In Power Outside The Matrix, my goal is to transmit the electricity of being a writer. In all my discussions, I come back to that.

Because, you see, being a writer is a LIFE.

It’s not just a career. The career comes out of the life.

Far too many people in this world opt for a career and then try to make a life out of it. That’s normal. That’s standard. That’s a long street that narrows and turns into an alley that ends at a blank wall.

If I loaded you down with tips and tricks and rules, I’d be directing you to that alley. I’d never do that.
