NY State cancels literacy test for teachers: it’s racist
by Jon Rappoport
March 14, 2017
I was going to post an article today about the empty-headed propaganda called “social sciences.” It’s part of my ongoing exposure of the destruction of the American education system.
But then I came across this from the NY Times:
“The [New York] Board of Regents eliminated a requirement that aspiring teachers pass a literacy test after the test proved controversial because black and Hispanic candidates passed it at significantly lower rates than white candidates.”
Bad enough that only 64% of white candidates passed the test on the first try in 2014; 46% of Hispanic candidates passed it; and 41% of black candidates passed it.
The logic here is stunning. Horrible test scores? Eliminate the test.
The next step: reading is too difficult; don’t teach reading.
And/or: reading is racist.
It’s, of course, the students who suffer. How can they be taught literacy when the teachers aren’t literate?
And these illiterate aspiring teachers? Who taught them?
It’s obvious that the New York State education system is rotten at the core. Fixing it would be like trying to turn around an oil tanker in a small space. This latest move by NY Regents officials proves there is no will and determination to undertake a comprehensive fix. They just want more teachers, no matter what. And they will get them. Why don’t they just hire teachers off the street? Anyone who can breathe and walk will do.
There’s really no need for classrooms, either. A great deal of money could be saved by holding classes in parks and empty lots.
Here is the “social sciences” article. It’s a hustle at a whole different level:
The rise of the “social sciences”: one long scam
Yet another vector has produced generations of empty-headed college students: the social sciences that aren’t sciences.
Anthropology, sociology.
Their practitioners study groups. National groups, ethnic groups, tribal groups, clans, religious groups, groups defined by gender, nomads, farmers, office workers; any way you can slice people up into groups, somebody is there with a notebook and a camera and a hot journal paper waiting to be published.
The focus is on traditions, practices, rituals, ceremonies, customs, rules, hierarchies.
The key is what is omitted.
The individual.
The last thing these minds want to acknowledge is the unique individual. That would be heresy.
Also, there are no useful “individual common denominators” to be found—and the social sciences are all about common denominators. Without them, the whole enterprise falls apart.
Individual-ology? No such thing.
By focusing on the group, the student is taught, by inference and osmosis, that the individual doesn’t count. Doesn’t count in society, in civilization, in history, in the future.
This is good, if you’re a collectivist. Quite good.
That’s why you can attend a college and obtain a degree in group-ology, but you can’t graduate with a diploma in “individual studies.” The latter curriculum doesn’t exist.
It’s quite interesting when you stop and think about it. You have all these students (individuals) attending colleges, and they can’t study themselves.
Professor: “Today, we’re beginning our investigation of the 16th-century XYZ Islanders, who lived for centuries off the coast of QRS.”
Student: “Were they all the same? Were there any individuals within XYZ who pursued their own unique and separate objectives?”
Professor: “Excuse me? I don’t even know what that means. I suggest you listen to my lectures and read the studies. Hopefully, you’ll be disabused of asking such questions.”
And after a few years, it’s likely the student will forget his initial objection. He’ll float with the tide. He’ll learn that the group is all.
Here’s a lesson in contemporary sociology: watch television for a year and find a drama series that features an individual who refuses to belong to any group or team (and isn’t a criminal). Writers wouldn’t have a clue about how to build story lines on that basis.
Colleges batter the minds of the young until they give in and submit to the proposition that the world is the group.
And this is considered a sign of maturity.
I have seen many of those students’ faces. If they exhibit maturity, it’s a state of mind to be avoided at all costs.

Reminds me of the Kurt Vonnegut short story, “Harrison Bergeron” about the ballet dancer who had to wear weights, because he was too good! If we extend the thinking of the test eliminators, the story would not be as dramatic – just eliminate the ballet.
If life were to imitate art, then they could keep the literacy test, but for the white kids they would play hip-hop tunes while they take it to dull their thinking. Oops – I suppose that could be construed as a racist comment. Oh my.
It’s everywhere, the social engineering. ‘We’re all in this together.’ ‘Get with the program!’
No, we’re not all in this together. This is right in speciation and our human genetics. Genetic variability, functionally useful diversity that gives a species better ability to survive catastrophes of various kinds. Genetic homogeneity decreases species survival ability.
A society with many different individuals, with functional diversity, capabilities, has more robust development and survival capability, than the homogenous, stereotyped hive mind society. People with different experience, different interests, different individuation are crucial. The hive mind society doesn’t have enough diversity to cope with the diversity of events coming down the pipe.
Opposite, is the fake diversity, the artificial colors and flavors of diversity, that aren’t truly functional, not really unique functional diversity.
How can one tell the difference? Experience, logic, and the crucible of reality testing.
Well, there is one good side about the result of the test.
First, rejoice and think about it. That means that very soon, the politicians won’t be able to fool the people, because they will not be able to read from a TelePrompTer.
Second, The result of the test could also explain why congressmen and senators, never read the thousand of pages of a bill. Why bother, they would not understand it anyway.
And the ones who write the bills are the endangered species going into extinction, but who cares?
They might still at this time be able to write bills, but they are unable to think clearly. So, I say: Good riddance!
LOL
whut da PHUC¿¡¡????”!!!
wow a great piece of writing! Thank you!
I have to say, this is VERY frightening. As a high school student, the very idea that the generations coming after me will somehow become dumber than the one I have to deal with now (those who are so obsessed with social media and video games they don’t know the names Julian Assange, Kurt Vonnegut or George Orwell) and the idea of college scares me beyond anything that even seems possible. It seems like every single day there is some school who gets rid of some part of their curriculum or their morals as to not ‘trigger or offend’ anyone. College should be a place where ideas are challenged and people are motivated to find their own place in the world. But today, if one steps out of line and says the wrong thing, they face expulsion from an institution that was built for the purpose of helping minds grow and become stronger. What have we come to? The idea of college should strike fear into only our immature minds, not our pocketbooks, bank accounts and free thinking minds. The idea of colleges and institutions should make people PROUD that they either plan to, are attending, or have attended that college or institution. Instead, all I see (this is from the POV of a 17 year old high school student, I might add) a place where white, Christian individuals will be ridiculed for everything they do until they denounce their God-given genders and sexual orientation (which should only be straight. No one is born gay, God makes no mistakes). Colleges and schools have failed us, and will continue to fail us. In my own high school we have hired a ‘math’ teacher who isn’t even qualified to teach math! She was an ENGLISH major! But we needed to fill a spot, and she was able to write her name without misspelling it, so she was hired. The school system around the world is going under, people are getting dumber, and the Powers That Be and the New World Order want this.
Educate yourself and your children through the so called ‘fake’ news sites. Stay away from InfoWars (though that goes without saying) and stay smart.
Crystal – while it is all frightening as you so well pointed out, it is encouraging to see that there are people like you – so of course there is Hope for the Future. You are that hope, for your generation, for future generations, and for the older generations now in power. Stay strong young lady – you have a great head on your shoulders and God’s Blessings to You! And many thanks for your encouraging post.
You know what the problem is, Jon
You don’t need literate child minders and indoctrinators.
Indeed, if anything, too much literacy clouds the program.

It wasn’t a drama, but what was Ron Swanson all about…
being the free thinking individualist makes me the black sheep in my family /friends..it is heart wrenching .25 years ago they yearned and sought the idea of free thinking individualism .now they drank;. may i say. “the collectivist coolaid”the absurdity of it is hard to ignore when having a conversation and steering clear of politics .they avoid the absurd collectivist reality like the plague .i can see they are becoming embarrassed .the grand kids are at stake..very serious stuff.
This story might be used to create anger among the majority of US citizen. When someone is angry, they can plant anything in his subconscious. So as the masses are angry by receiving this information, through TV, radio, internet or newspaper, there must be a hidden message appearing at the same time in relation with whatever the power-that-be wants for controlling its subjects
Silk purses for everyone!
There was a brief moment in time , where I was convinced beyond all doubt that the whole world had within that instance gone completely mad, it was at a congressional hearing to present the case for invading Iraq, the evidence, a satellite image of a trailer, and although bearing resemblance to a common portable lab, but no different in this photo from a common trailer used in construction sites, and no other evidence that this was indeed a chemical weapons lab, another presentation features a hand made drawing, and for this we invaded a sovereign nation with no declaration of war and no one even questioned the necessity much less the legality.
Colin Powell seemed reluctant to present it himself, he seemed to be by every mannerisms, his speech and body langue as a man ordered to this particular job.
And to this day nothing has been gained from this confict.
I know the test is meant only to screen out complete idiots/illiterates. Fine, let NY state embrace illiteracy. I wonder what state has the strictest literacy test? That would be the state to live and do business.
As for taking somebody off of the street–yes, if we took people off the street who could pass a difficult literacy test and made them teachers, regardless of whether they have formal education, we’d have much better results.
GIGO.
Some of us are missing the point, we have allowed ourselves ,always have, to be led by this athoritarianism, we blame people like Stalin and Hitler, but it was the people who carried out these genocides, it is the people who fallow them to war the political and religious leaders may usurp that power from God himself and we still fallow them. We install them as saviors, only because they tell us what we want to hear, as they are keen in following the results of their propaganda,, the Nazi’s even admitted it is an easy thing to get the common man to go to war even against his better judgement and self preservation.
Everyone arrested is now guilty in the eyes of the people , we no longer side with the underdog or the targeted. And we trust in the institutions that have been created for our benefit as if that were enough reason.
And most of this is done by that little mesmerizing box that everyone owns, once the t.v., but now the smart phone.
I.Q. Tests will be next to go. They prove that all people are not equal, not even within a particular race, religion, or creed. Will they start giving lobotomies or laser/microwave brain injuries to smart people to make them more equal ?
This means that every university that granted thesis teachers a degree accepted illiterate students and these “educated” students graduate, still illiterate. This says everything about the quality of a university “education”.
The title says it all, evidently, literacy is racist.
