Energy depletion in a human being

Energy depletion in a human being

Energy.

As in: energy depletion.

Without energy, the individual feels trapped. In that state, he seeks to conform, fit in, survive long enough to die of old age.

Body and mind deploy various feedback mechanisms to inform a person about his “available supply of energy,” and when these signals are taken as absolute truth, trouble comes.

“I can sense my energy is dwindling. So I have to…settle for less, or see a doctor, or give up, or accept that I’m getting older, or change my values, or tune up a victim-story, or join a group, or…”

On and on it goes.

In this twilight zone, the individual is unwilling to consider solutions that could restore his vitality. He’s already opted for a lower level of life.

In particular, he’s unwilling to explore the one aspect of his capability that works like magic: imagination.

That’s out. No dice. Preposterous. Absurd.

After all, imagination is just that spring rain he felt as a child, that unknown space that held all the promise in the world.

That was then; this is now.

Now is sober reflection. Now is routine. Now is habit. Now is empty.

Once upon a time, he read a science fiction novel and, at the end of it, he felt as if he were standing, triumphant, in deep space at the crossroad of a hundred solar systems.

Now he knows there is no such place. Now he is intelligent.

And now he has no energy.

The light that once flared is gone.

The idea that his own imagination could lead him to discoveries beyond anything he knows is fool’s gold.

Yes, once when he was twenty, he woke up in the middle of the night and walked to his window and looked out over a city and knew he was on the cusp of an endless future…but what can he do about that now? There is no returning.

So his imagination waits. It idles.

Yet…if he took a chance, if he began to dream again, if he started up the engine, if he considered offloading the interlocking systems that have become his daily life, what might happen?

What layers of dead thought might peel away?

What abiding convictions might dissolve?

What energies might be restored?

Is there a huge space beyond his common neurological impulses and rigid survival habits, where Vision can be played out on a vast scale?

Is there a different kind of life he can enter, crossing the threshold from tired knowledge into mystery?

Can he take a route around the banners and facades of his former reality after opening the door to his imagination?

Exit From the Matrix

There is, in fact, a silent channel that winds through the entire time-scale of the human race.

History does not officially record it, because history is written by winners for losers, and this channel has nothing to do with pedestrian notions of victory or defeat.

The route of imagination has no truck with conventional space or time. It invents its own, and eventually introduces them into the world.

How many stories are there about journeying knights who cross the boundary from ordinary events into a realm of magic?

The stories are messages…sent to ourselves, to remember. This place, this day, this moment is a platform from which to embark.

Adventure, with no end.

Imagination.

Energy.

I feel so lucky to finding out about you or listening to you or reading. I’m barely 30 (since May 23). I feel lucky. Thank you very much mr. Rappoport.

If there were anything close to so called ‘perfect drug’ It’d be the articles you publish here and share with world: great jump-pads to infinite consciousness. You don’t cover every angle, every possibility out there but these jump-pads can match to many different people so they can launch their own advanture: you invent them for these people, showing the way..
You helped me to ‘invent’. Well, I admire and feel so lucky for reading your words sir. You are truely doing an amazing work, free for people, for individuals to use.

I kept my inner balance while learning-expanding my consciousness beyond anything while reading your blog here.. this never happened in my life. I had to give 6-7 years for single finding about these matters but here, is like ‘hacking’ while just reading. You provide everything in a silver platter and that alone deserves incredible value. Or else: It’s invaluable.

I am working on creating my own reality beyond “everything”. I am looking forward for that day, I am creating that day when I am being able to purchase all your works. Value for value..

until then I am broke and I can’t but I will.
Thank you for everything sir. As you say “head in the stars, feet on the ground”
Thanks a lot and I’m looking forward to ground my own reality which will allow me to pay for your tremendous work.

    no doubt

  3. This was one of those festival weekends that we have here in Saskatchewan. Since Wednesday July 16 till today, Sunday, its been ‘Ness Creek Music Festival’.

I was a vender at this year festival, selling my drawings and my wife selling her salves and aromatic oil mixtures and hand-made dresses.
Anyway to my point…the crowd is mainly the older hippie/hipster type that populate the festival.
Lots of ‘Imagination’ this year; Ness is fastly becoming the northern Saskatchewan festival of choice for artists.

I sat a few mornings and afternoons, for a number of hours, with my sketch books and different drawing media, to draw those who take in some of the workshops which draw crowds of younger people.
The children art workshops using donated stuff to recycle into Art. The yoga workshop teaching them yoga. Juggling workshop, clown and drumming workshop. So many more.

But the one that caught my interest was stilt walking.
Now I have been interested in stilts for a long time now. It is one of those unusual things we humans do…
and to see, because it breaks the boundaries of what is considered normal walking. Even the looking at someone walking on stilts (and they dress quite wildly, some like gigantic birds, or goofy beings) is a trip. Like a Dali come to life.

The workshop begins with the volunteers teaching children to close their eyes and imagining walking on stilts.
There are large, tall racks that the children can cling to, in order to orient themselves and adjust to the condition of walking on the new-found stilts. They start with short ones maybe twelve inches high, and progress upwards of six feet.

This is truly amazing to watch as a sketch hunter as a small child through sheer courage and trust of the teacher and mucho imagination acquire skills very, very quickly.
I watch a number of the children progress upwards to the sky in matter of a couple of hours, some a couple if days.

With the final parade through the Ness grounds Sunday in a parade of the graduated work-shoppers from the different weekend children workshops; stilt walkers, drummers, clowns and jugglers…a circus of new-found talents.

The words around the stilt walking workshop are imagine you are very tall, imagine yourself as a bird with long legs. Or being a very tall being from another place. It is truly a magical experience.

Children excel at the imagination game when given a chance.
Children will surprise you at how much personal power they can find inside themselves, gain access to it quickly, how much individualism exudes through from the timidity of the start and the fear conquered.
To the final walking around on six-foot stilts, inside long pant legs and a goofy cape or mask, high stove the ground, confident.

Granted all the children do not get to the six-foot mark. But there are many five and four footers, and varying sizes all the way down to one foot stilts above the ground.

Is it because they are children? No.
Is it because they are fearless and with courage and they have good teachers? Possibly.
Or is because they allow the imagination to empower them, they trust their own head and heart. They have not closed of the mind, that part of themselves that is forever young, that part that empowers.
    Imagination is power.
Imagination is a law of physics.

It takes Imagination, heart-felt Intention, Perseverance, Faith in a brighter day, and Belief in things unseen, to shift this paradigm!

As an individual that tries to operate from a world view that answers the 4 basic questions: Origin, Meaning, Morality and Destiny, I see this remarkable blog post of Jon’s as pointing to a central thesis in Christian Faith and that is mankind was made in the image of Creator God. This “image of our Creator”, encompasses an ability to reason, function under moral constraints and be creative. God designed us with purpose and provided the means for creative expression. Sadly we often choose to turn away from the Creators’ guidance and attempt to find meaning divorced from his directions. This is not dissimilar to ignoring the owner’s manual for your new car. Yes it may sustain speeds of 120 MPH, for a while, but without proper break-in and maintenance the automobile will not continue to allow the pleasures it once did. Thus when I live life on a humanistic level I am limiting my creative potential and ability to experience heights of imagination that connects to my real life experiences and needs.
I would point to the author C S Lewis as a prime example of an unbounded imagination that was used to tell meaningful stories. His legacy endures unlike most others in that he put his dreams to pen and ink and refined them to communicate stories relating to this life and eternal life in perfect fellowship with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Jon’s comments, in this blog, ring true with my own thoughts looking back on a mere 54 years of life. The Bible teaches us we live in a broken world where creativity was subordinated to self will and the desire to, as Frank Sinatra sang: “I did it my way.” God provided free choice to show the results of going any which way we choose. Instead we can be restored to full meaning and imaginative capacity if we confess our going wrong and chose to walk in His way.
My finding is that energy depletion is a soul experience as well as it is can be due to external influences. But drought of the soul is perhaps primary. I’ve see this in a Health Care career, over the last 30 years, how you can diagnose a symptom leading to a malady but until the root causes are unearthed effective lasting treatment is a long way off. Sadly most often to spirit of a person and it’s hurts are neglected for a correct pill driven “cure”. I suggest health truly needs a holistic approach.
My excitement, as a Christian, comes from knowing eternal life with our Creator (three in one) will be an unequaled opportunity to experience love, imagination, creativity and joy as we will no longer be limited in-that sin will be done away with. Heaven is to be a place where we will function in the image of God as creative, imaginative loving individuals. All this does not neglect that is does matter how we live and express our God given talents in this brief time on earth. Because there is Hell to pay for “… doing it my way.”
