I have a friend with a little experience with hallucinogens many many moons ago.
He said mescaline creates sharpness of mind, enhances verbal facility, & promotes “the giggles.”
LSD, he said, created a deeper pathway, & with high dosage, the verbal machinery could break down. One simply would experience difficulty finding appropriate words for descriptive purposes. My friend watched too & opined that the Rep.’s chosen syntax, his wavering sentence emphasis (staccato or otherwise) & his quavering emphasis laid ON specific words, were FOR emphasis, but…did not CARRY emphasis.
