Why Russia has become the number-one target in the US press

Why Russia has become the number-one target in the US press

by Jon Rappoport

April 12, 2017

The new devil in the US press, as of last summer, was Russia. All of a sudden. And then, in the wake of the election, the devil became the DEVIL. Was this nothing more than an attempt to discredit Trump and his victory?

No. It was definitely something more.

As David Icke stated on the Richie Allen show a few days ago, Russia was the player who was standing in the way of the long-term goal to get rid of Assad in Syria and turn the country into a hellhole like Libya.

The US government and its allies had created, funded, and armed the group called ISIS, the proxy force for, among other operations, wiping out the Assad government in Syria. The Syria op was a slam-dunk…until it wasn’t. Until Putin stepped in and gave air support to Assad’s troops and turned the war around, bringing it to the brink of, God forbid, actual peace negotiations.

That outcome was definitely NOT on the agenda of the US Project for a New American Century, the neocon playbook for destabilizing the Middle East.

Putin was standing in the way. He was screwing up The Plan. He was winning.

Therefore, another WMD (as in Iraq) situation was required. This time, based on no reasonable evidence, the reported weapon would be sarin gas, and the place would be Syria, and the perpetrator would be Assad. And before the sarin-Assad claims could be studied fully, it was time for a response, an attack, a missile strike. The objective? Destroy the peace process in Syria, paint Assad as the killer.

Trump went along. He pulled the trigger. He was fed “evidence” that Assad was killing his own people with outlawed chemical weapons, and he ordered the missile strike.

And now, every neocon in Washington who can get press coverage is saying the Trump has, for the first time, “become the president.”

And that’s true, if by “president” we mean a person who is ingesting “evidence” and taking marching orders from above; from what has been called the Deep State.

A State dedicated to endless war.

As always, thank you Jon. This article is “dead”-on, and MSM, including Fox, utterly disgusts me.

  2. Oliver K. Manuel says:

Thanks for a quite rational analysis of an unfortunate recent event.

The question is whether or not Trump’s ego will allow him to admit a mistake and avoid future control by the Deep State?

  3. Greg C. says:

I think Trump is learning not to give in to his hawk advisors – he’s already promising we won’t go into Syria. Bring back Bannon, the voice of sanity.

  4. Oliver Manuel says:

I am personally unable to decipher news reports of impending nuclear war since I know that nations have worked together to hide the source of nuclear energy from the public since the end of WWII:

    Thanks.
And what about North Korea? I don’t understand the ‘why’. I agreed with you, hoped that Trump will be something different, he was The HOPE, and we desperately wanted to hope again. How naive… It looks from here that he wants a war or more, no matter what. Destabilizing the world. I guess he is just a puppet or even that power in the background miscalculated and unleashed something terrifying with him. He is messing with nation who were, sorry, far better trained on the field of art of war due to their thousands years history. He is endangering everyone. Who / what will stop him? How dangerous is power, money and army if in the case of idiots… like WH spokesman, i guess rest of them are not any better.
Please forgive me, I deeply respect you but at this point I wish that US has some urgent inside poblems as serious ones as needed to keep these idiots deeply involved at home rather than endangering the whole world. Sorry.

And now – a pivot to the east….

MAGA my butt… However – there has to be more to all of it, than us common, concerned, living in poverty, aging population are allowed to observe… Yes?

  7. Patrick says:

This also has a lot to do with the US-backed Qatar-Turkey-Syria pipeline vs. the Russia-backed Iran-Iraq-Syria pipeline. Robert Kennedy Jr. has an incredible paper on the subject:

Very rich history lesson in there as well.

  8. S. Englert says:

A succinct and apt analysis of the “deeper” reason for the Russia fear-mongering, which is warmongering. Tip of the hat!

Dear Jon, several years ago I picked up one of my daughter’s poli-sci reading list books, Israel and the Clash of Civilizations (2006)) by journalist Jonathon Cook. In that book he explicitly references “The Yinon Plan” a strategy first publically presented in Hebrew in the mid 80s in an Israeli publication. In short the plan was to Balkanize the Middle East and get the various Islamic factions to fight amongst themselves to bolster Israel’s geopolitical position. Given the Mearsheimer/Walt thesis on US foreign policy and the obvious lies around on recent events in Syria I am curious if you are aware of this. Recently I see Oded Yinon’s baby receiving a lot of ink. When old news is making new headlines I smell a rat. What do you think Mr. Medavoy would say?

“In order to bring a nation to support the burdens of maintaining great military establishments, it is necessary to create an emotional state akin to war psychology. There must be the portrayal of external menace.” – John Foster Dulles, secretary of state in the Eisenhower administration

“…according to hundreds of U.S. State Department documents, the Soviet industrial and military capabilities such as trucking, aircraft, oil, steel, petrochemical, aluminum, and computers were constructed at the U.S. taxpayers’ expense in the Soviet Union.” – Daniel Estulin, The True Story Of The Bilderberg Group

  13. Joy says:

Yes, indeed! The pieces of the puzzle are now falling into place, and President Trump needs to wake up before it’s too late. At first, he did seem to be an “outsider” bent on reform, but what a slippery slope. I’m trying not to slide into even more twisted questions as to whether or not this was the plan all along, for if it was, then we all may be doomed as far as this Matrix world is concerned.

It is late in his life…I don’t think he wants to go out as the loser president in their eyes.
    He speaks like a NeoCon.

  17. Jon,

Other than ISIS being set up by Israel (who have the connections and “fakes” in the “Muslim” community), I agree with Icke.

There is no turning back for Trump and but one option for “his” people.

In the spirit of Easter, I suggest you look up Luke’s attribution to “Jesus”, a tale ambiguously called “The Syrophoenician Woman”. It is commonly misinterpreted as emphasis should be on the Syrophoenicians (analogically compared in “status” to “woman”) component. They were the Syrian ancestors.

Anyone who is not aware Syria is one of 8 countries who were not ensnared by the (un)federal reserve banks, needs to educate themselves. this list has been available since the 90’s.*(pnac) Russia knows if Syria , then Iraq goes, them and China will be next. Plus Putin is tired of the idiocy of the evil going on.

The best thing we could do as Americans is demand Congress coin their own money and drop the fed immediately and their fiat currency which keeps everyone in debt. Put all the irs and state taxation agents in Guantanamo where they belong. They are criminals, every one of them.
Joe Bannister, former cid agent uncovered the truth about the irs and the income tax and is a brave man of great integrity.
    http://www.agentfortruth.com/
We can not turn a blind eye any more to the fact that “taxpayers”are funding their own oppressors and destroying our republic by participating in this evil system. the money you pay into this goes to the bank, not America, to cover the interest. This is why we have debt. to make a bunch of evil people richer.

“Give me control of a nation’s money
and I care not who makes the laws.” Mayer Amschel Rothschild

“I care not what puppet is placed on
the throne of England to rule the Empire, …
The man that controls Britain’s money
    supply controls the British Empire.
And I control the money supply.” Baron Nathan Mayer Rothschild

Our country needs more brave people with integrity like Joe Bannister, Devvy Kidd, and the rest who have sacrificed so much to get the truth out and have been persecuted for doing so. Bless these real Americans and patriots.

I realise that ‘they’ upped the anti last Summer, but the demonisation of Putin has been going on for several years now.

  20. Peter Greene says:

Well, Russia would have to oppose the Brzezinski agenda, as it involves the eventual toppling of Russia. Syria is about their last client state in any functional shape in the entire arc, and it won’t be standing long. Libya II. We don’t need those areas in functional shape; they will serve as resource-extraction slaves, and they’ll do so in penury for opposing us. It’s the Roman way. Roll over, keep your king and infrastructure. Example – South Korea. Man, my new LG washing machine even sings a happy dance with the latch for handclaps. Those are happy um victims. Fail to yield immediately, and we’ll kill every last chicken and cow, poison the wells, and set your kids on fire in front of you. We have men well trained for that stuff. The big question for me is: have we convinced China to stab Russia in the back for the last act, or do we have to deal with both of them? The Chinese are beyond wily, they think in very long time cycles. We bring the insane to the table, in a drug-controlled way, so they MIGHT temporarily yield. Bend like a reed and stay standing. But then, they can also see the future with US Rome in control, and they might feel obliged to stop it. Only folks that could, if they convinced Russia to co-operate, which is a complex and dangerous task. It’s exciting to live in such interesting times. Hope the crops don’t fail and that everyone gets to avoid violent death for today!
