In articles about Trump, I have praised the man for certain things he’s done and is doing. But that isn’t a reason for closing my eyes and accepting his programs wholeheartedly.
This is what I predicted in recent articles. Unless some miracle turnaround occurs, Trump’s pick for Secretary of Agriculture, Sonny Perdue, will be a catastrophe. Lights out. Bang.
Big Ag vs. the small American farmer? No contest.
Katherine Paul, the associate director of the Organic Consumers Association, has the story:
“Trump heaped predictable praise on Sonny Perdue, promising that the former governor of Georgia will ‘deliver big results for all Americans who earn their living off the land’.”
“The Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA), that multi-billion-dollar lobbying group that represents Monsanto, Dow, Dupont, Coca-Cola, General Mills (you get the picture) rushed to praise Perdue’s nomination. In a statement, GMA’s president said her group ‘looks forward to working with [Perdue] on issues key to keeping America’s food the safest and most affordable food supply in the history of the world’. Coming from the GMA, leader of the charge to keep labels off GMO foods, we know that ‘safest and most affordable food’ is code for ‘industrial chemical GMO food’.”
“And by now, we also all know that Perdue, who was named 2009 Governor of the Year by the Biotechnology Innovation Organization, counts both Monsanto and Coca-Cola among his many corporate campaign donors.”
“A former fertilizer salesman, Perdue at one time owned Houston Fertilizer and Grain which, after its acquisition of Milner Milling Co., morphed into AGrowStar, a grain business with operations across Georgia and South Carolina. His supporters cite his business operations as proof that he’s qualified to lead the USDA. They fail to mention the role chemical fertilizers play in water pollution and global warming [I reject that latter connection], much less the cost to farmers of relying on synthetic inputs…”
“Perdue has no qualms about taking government handouts. Environmental Working Group (EWG) reports that between 1995 and 2014, he cashed in on $278,679 in taxpayer-funded subsidies for his various businesses. Will he be open to overhauling the current system which doles out $25 billion/year in subsidies (paid out mostly to large producers, not small farmers) for commodity crops, like wheat, GMO corn, GMO cotton and GMO soy?”
“At a 2003 meeting organized by his wife (then first lady of Georgia) and sponsored by Coca-Cola and Chick-fil-A, Perdue praised the soda giant for its ‘its continued effort to grow its business presence and invest in Georgia, as the Company prepares to open a $100 million plus expansion to its Atlanta production facilities’.”
“Before his nomination, Perdue served on Trump’s ag advisory committee whose talking points, as reported on November 15, by Politico, ‘offer a roadmap on how President-Elect Donald Trump’s agriculture secretary could shape agricultural policies, including the sweeping promise to “defend American agriculture against its critics,”’. Of course, what the committee means by ‘American’ agriculture is industrial factory farm and GMO commodity agriculture. And we all know who the committee sees as its critics—that would be us and a host of other groups that advocate for healthy food and a clean environment.”
“…in 2009, Perdue signed a bill that blocked local communities in Georgia from regulating animal cruelty, worker safety and pollution related to factory farms. That’s hardly ‘looking out’ for the little guy.”
—No need to read between the lines. Perdue will be Big Ag’s man in Washington.
But just in case you think he’ll reverse all the wonderful farm policies promoted by Obama, read on. Obama was nothing less than Monsanto’s man in the Oval Office. Here is my piece, from 2013:
After his victory in the 2008 election, Obama filled key posts with Monsanto people, in federal agencies that wield tremendous force in food issues, the USDA and the FDA:
At the USDA, as the director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture, Roger Beachy, former director of the Monsanto Danforth Center.
As deputy commissioner of the FDA, the new food-safety-issues czar, the infamous Michael Taylor, former vice-president for public policy for Monsanto. Taylor had been instrumental in getting approval for Monsanto’s genetically engineered bovine growth hormone.
As commissioner of the USDA, Iowa governor, Tom Vilsack. Vilsack had set up a national group, the Governors’ Biotechnology Partnership, and had been given a Governor of the Year Award by the Biotechnology Industry Organization, whose members include Monsanto.
As the new Agriculture Trade Representative, who would push GMOs for export, Islam Siddiqui, a former Monsanto lobbyist.
As the new counsel for the USDA, Ramona Romero, who had been corporate counsel for another biotech giant, DuPont.
As the new head of the USAID, Rajiv Shah, who had previously worked in key positions for the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, a major funder of GMO agriculture research.
We should also remember that Obama’s secretary of state, Hillary Clinton, once worked for the Rose law firm. That firm was counsel to Monsanto.
Obama nominated Elena Kagan to the US Supreme Court. Kagan, as federal solicitor general, had previously argued for Monsanto in the Monsanto v. Geertson seed case before the Supreme Court.
The deck was stacked. Obama hadn’t simply made honest mistakes. Obama hadn’t just failed to exercise proper oversight in selecting appointees. He was staking out territory on behalf of Monsanto and other GMO corporate giants.
And now let us look at what key Obama appointees have wrought for their true bosses. Let’s see what GMO crops have walked through the open door of the Obama presidency.
* Monsanto GMO alfalfa.
* Monsanto GMO sugar beets.
* Monsanto GMO Bt soybean.
* Coming soon: Monsanto’s GMO sweet corn.
* Syngenta GMO corn for ethanol.
* Syngenta GMO stacked corn.
* Pioneer GMO soybean.
* Syngenta GMO Bt cotton.
* Bayer GMO cotton.
* ATryn, an anti-clotting agent from the milk of transgenic goats.
* A GMO papaya strain.
* And soon, genetically engineered salmon and apples.
This is an extraordinary parade.
Obama was, all along, a stealth operative on behalf of Monsanto, biotech, GMOs, and corporate control of the future of agriculture.
He didn’t make that many key political appointments and allow that many new GMO crops to enter the food chain through a lack of oversight.
Nor is it coincidental that two of the Obama’s biggest supporters, Bill Gates and George Soros, purchased 900,000 and 500,000 shares of Monsanto, respectively, in 2010.
Obama, while on the campaign trail in 2008, was promising transparency in government, was claiming that every person has the right to know what’s in his food (GMO labeling). But clearly, that was all cover and fluff. He was lying through his teeth and he knew it. He hasn’t changed. He’s been a covert agent since the beginning.
Imposter. Charlatan. These words fit Obama. He doesn’t care that GMO food is taking over the country and the world. He wants it to happen. He’s always wanted it to happen.
Obama, Monsanto, DuPont, and Dow, among others, are prepared to do whatever is necessary to make GMO food and their attendant pesticides dominate America and, through exports, the world.

—Whether Trump has his eyes open or closed, he’s walking down the same path. His meetings with small farmers, and his pledge to protect clean water and air, were so much fluff.
Theoretically, he has time to reverse course, but don’t bet on it, don’t hold your breath—unless you’re living in an area downwind from a corporate factory farm, where the air is full of gently wafting toxic pesticides and GMOs.

I share your admiration and your concerns for President Donald J. Trump. We cannot expect him, or anyone else, to guide the ship of state flawlessly past the perils that remained hidden from the public by group-think, uninvestigative reporting of news and science after WWII.
How would you now advise Trump to deal, for example, with these little-known facts?
1. Nations and national academies of sciences were united under the UN at the end of WWII.
2. Communists and capitalists probably all agreed, “Better Red Than Dead!”
3. Nevertheless, USSR surprised the world by launching the Spitnik space satellite in ~1956
4. Eisenhower provided public funding for the military-industrial complex to protect the US from domination by the USSR
5. Kennedy started the Apollo Space Program to block USSR’s domination of space and the world because USSR launched Sputnik
6. Nixon and Kissinger ended Kennendy’s Apollo Space Program to renew worldwide peace with China and the USSR in ~1971
7. Reagan first predicted and later proclaimed the Evil Empire Gone when the Berlin wall came down in the 1980s
8. The USA does not even have rockets to get to the “International Space Station.” We must now hitchhike on Russian rockets
This is the reality President Donald J. Trump now faces. May Trump have the wisdom to steer us past these perils and restore integrity to science, journalism and our constitutional form of government.
Hidden in the deep background of all these events, Weizsacker’s logical error in defining “nuclear binding energy” in 1935 blocked:
1. Hitler’s efforts to build atomic bombs, and
2. Public knowledge the Sun made, sustains and holds every atom, life and planet in the solar system in continuous vibration, by the nuclear force Weizsacker overlooked.
Hear hear!
who cares if all you can buy eat, breath and grow is POISON?
Let the hair raising really begin.
You alerted on Purdue almost instantaneously awhile back. And also a few others. Can’t recall any of the ‘left perps, moaners or groaners’ about him – guessing this to mean – simplified – they approve.
Guess the breath of good, clean, moving air I thought I sensed – may’ve been laced with nano-particles of passivity.
Felt so grand to have Trump as Prez – that he’d try to clean up some very bad & major policies. What he’s started to date – appeared hopeful – what’s ‘ humming in the background – now seems continuing disaster in working order.
Is there even the remotest possibility this guy, with a pedigree like his, will apply his skill set FOR the betterment? To put on some braking? To turn the AG ship into the wind?
As many commentors here & elsewhere have stated – MONEY. And also unbridled power grease all the wheels.
Jon’s been teaching imagination and individuality – what reality is and isn’t. These are tools to use through any challenge.
Amen!
thanks jon. what a drag. i was playing chess with the world and i saw its players realizing they could pull the plug in many area. like money imf. cfr etc. i noticed the players. don’t you have to keep your enemies close? know the probabilities for future plays. he has real smart people.don’t we know seeing the long game is the shrewdest? the american farm though …looks like a bad idea… i hope i observe the smartest game in recent history bringing down Mr. Global.
Unless an illusion, like the fall of the Berlin Wall.
That would be a wonderful thing.
If Trump can be open to vaccine safety, then he can be open to food safety. It would help to have a governor or senator to oppose Monsanto first, before we could expect the White House to take up that fight. Let’s face it, Monsanto is an extremely effective lobbyist at all levels of government. We have to first reverse the trend of bigger and bigger farms. We can help by buying at farmers markets, or at least buying organic. And stop buying cereal! That’s big Farmer’s flagship product.
I have a feeling he is more than open to food safety, and it is the long game that will not count…not just the first 13 days in office. How can we presume to know his strategies, and everything that he knows? And we all need to do our part buying as much organic, local produce as we can…and I say eat totally grains-free!
I mean, it is the long game that WILL count.
Yep, refined grains and sugar, even if they are totally pure, creates a sugar rush, lowering the IQ and brain function. Could that partly explain the insane Trump protestors? They are totally gaga. Lucky Charms and pancakes with corn syrup for breakfast, ymmm!
And lots of Monster drinks and Doritos for breakfast (I see this all the time!), let alone the mercury, aluminum, and other toxins in vaccinations, and fluoride in the water scrambling and destroying their brains! Also, I have been asking for years, “Why a Starbucks on practically every corner?” I finally realized it is part of the weaponry targeting brains and endocrine systems, with fluoride and massive doses of caffeine and sugar.
Exactly Joy – natural sleep cycles have been so disrupted by LED screens and light bulbs after dark. Combine that with rollercoaster blood sugar levels and you get zombies who need hourly Starbucks transfusions. Tried a Starbucks coffee several years ago – man, I was on hair-trigger for the rest of the day. That’ll do a number on your adrenals over time.
check out f.lux for your computer screen.
That has the sound of an excuse Greg.
Mr Rappoport… I thought you were against these globalist pricks yet “You’ve praised the man for certain things”..! Really?
I know there are opinions that GMO’s are safe and then those who say otherwise. I for one try to avoid GMO foods by shopping in grocers like Earth Fair who will not stock shelves with GMO or unhealthy additives in products. I can feel safe shopping there with that policy. Best place to attack these monsters like Monsanto is in the pocket book. Don’t buy their products. I was sad to hear Trump may be aligning himself with people like this but like I said, there are scientist who say its safe and then theirs scientist who say its not safe. Just as many for and against climate change as well. How to win this argument is the same as how to win a GMO argument. I pray God will guide Trump in the right direction and support clean farming with clean food.
Purdue is EVIL perfect man for Dept of Agriculture WHICH IS in fact an arm of the Military Industrial complex…now you know why they are weaponizing the food supply. They test it on Americans
I cannot understand why people want to label GMO products. We all know that they will never do it.
To me, it’s clear that if it is not labeled CERTIFIED ORGANIC, then it is GMO.
Let Trump make a deal with Russia to import certified organic foods and buy them. It’s the only way to kill USA GMO’s business.
i agree.
if you are purchasing it from within a corp supermarket and it is not labeled CERTIFIED ORGANIC, then that most surely means that it was grown with pesticides, or, was grown as GMO with pesticides.
https://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2015/01/02/scott-faber-no-one-is-seeking-to-ban-gmo-crops-w-h-a-t/
I I agree. Out here where 92 % of land is ag . I don’t see a real shake up towards gmo or anything else. Not many care. I hope it changes and I will keep watch . Maybe later on Pres Trump will see the dangers.
JB
Thank you for bringing a balanced look at this issue. A person who likes everything a president does is a groupie and is not being diligent.
I used to listen to the Savage Nation for years. I do not listen anymore, because Savage is always criticizing Trump’s picks for his cabinet.
He thinks he knows better than Trump. So why didn’t he get in the presidential race himself, if he is so smart?
Or, at least, why doesn’t he try to communicate with Trump to advise him on his cabinet ?
That drives me crazy. He is a well known person, Trump would take his call for sure, Trump listens to people..
But no, he doesn’t bother. You have to wonder why?
And, by the way, why are people relying only on a President to fix their problems. Why not take it in the hands of individuals.?
In this case here, stop buying GMO, Just buy Certified Organic foods. I do, and I’m far from being rich, So, If i can do it, so can you..
Boycotts work.
“And, by the way, why are people relying only on a President to fix their problems. Why not take it in the hands of individuals.?”
Excellent point.
We are pretty much brainwashed to rely on the “experts”, to hand over our power and to move like zombies through our daily lives. (Expert opinion of course can be found around the clock on any mainstream media outlet.)
The funny thing about this is that I said, long before Trump was elected, that he would get elected and that he would be no better than any before him for all politicians are owned by the Global Elite. You can not play unless you are. While everyone declared Trump as the messiah, I said he would be nothing of the sort. How did you not see this Jon? With all your logic and wisdom, how did I scoop you so easy? I’m curious. I scooped all the Alt Media. Shame shame! I know you won’t post this but you will not be able to ignore it in your own mind. I know the real score and you know that, too!
Oh boy! Just another snowflake who thinks he is better than anyone else. I pity you.
Notice that Jon published your post, so you are wrong again…lol
Grow-up!
I predict the FED will raise interest rates and sink the economy into a Depression.
Welfare will go down and the people of America will riot en masse
Then the people will beg for the UN to save them
That is when the guns for roast beef program will start.
Reading the comments, Jon, I feel Trump has fallen into the “Capitalism” trap. The price of “decent food” will quintuple which will aggravate the “slave classes” and further divide. In fact (as they discovered in Australia), if they go “wholesale GMO”, nothing produced by the US (in open air) will be “edible”.
On to that “clean” air, water aside….where have you discovered some?
Best
OT
“where have you discovered some?” In a fairy tale, there is none left. the Elite want us all dead in 10 years. JUst thought I’d let everyone know the game plan made secret places.
@truth1
As far fetched as it might sound, the Zeta Grey Beings see the end as “imminent”, but favour some sort of holocaust.
Either way, it’s a kinda moot point!
We, whether we like it or not, are controlled by unseen (and mostly unknown) reptilian overlords. They would have no compunction in wiping us out in a heartbeat and have been planning for such an occasion over centuries. The main hindrance is replacement genetic stock. We are very hard to hybridise. Every race of man took 1000’s of years to produce. Like for like will turn bad. Karma never lies. Get the picture?
The great irony is, through abject ignorance, we kill ourselves by not taking the environment seriously and assuming (even the “atheists”) “God” will clean up.
BIG SHOCK COMING…….!!!!!!!!!!!
Greetings Ozzie! whether I agree with 50% of your ideas or not, I like hearing from you. Ya guts more on the noggin than many. I am aware of scenarios like aliens with bad intent and possible messiah scenarios including aliens as messiahs. And yes, I do expect the REAL Messiah, son of the God of the Bible, to bail us out, who are willing to do things God’s way. Guilty as charged.
Whether aliens or reptilians, figurative or literal, I agree we got problems in a life and existence beyond us. And we agree that they don’t give a damn about us. but you and I is talking crazy, boy. We’re out to lunch. I have been out for some time.
but there are very different scenarios that could play out, in what we have in agreement. I call the aliens demons, fully immaterial on composition.and undetectable unless they want to be detectable. You may vary on that or not. Some scenarios require physical aliens threatening an possibly rescued by another group of aliens who happen to have a messiah on board. All a psyop says I. There, I justified my tinfoil hat. I never leave home without it. I look so good in it 😉
But for sure, one way or another, I don’t think the world is prepared for what is coming.
there are a number of ways this could play out. things are changing rapidly and moving in and out. a holocaust is not a given. nothing is. i suggest we focus on a preferred “ending”.
we are what is.
things are not always as they seem.
holograms.
