What law says the text of the TPP must remain secret?

To the US Congress: reveal the contents of the TPP now

It seems like a case of mass hypnosis. People claiming they can’t say what’s in the TPP trade agreement. And mainstream media accept this premise.

“That’s right. Congress must stay silent.”

Pop quiz: who says the text of the TPP must remain secret?

Under what authority?

Members of Congress are scuttling around like weasels, claiming they can’t disclose what’s in this far-reaching, 12-nation trade treaty.

They can go into a sealed room and read a draft, but they can’t copy pages, and they can’t tell the public what they just read.

Why not?

If there is a US law forbidding disclosure, name the law.

Can you recall anything in the Constitution that establishes secret treaties?

Is there a prior treaty that states the text of all treaties can be hidden from the people?

I see no authority anywhere that justifies withholding the text of the TPP.

Government legislators in the other 11 nations: why can’t you reveal what’s in the TPP?

Mass silence around the world. “Sorry, we can’t say what’s in the treaty. We’ll vote on it, but you the people have no input. You have to take what we do on faith.”

Who says so? By what authority?

If a US Senator held a press conference today and explained everything he read in that sealed room about the TPP, what exactly would happen to him? Would he be arrested?

Would he be charged with a federal crime?

What crime?

If he used his cell phone to take pictures of pages of the TPP, and came out of the room and sent the pictures to 500 press outlets, what would happen?

Would the DOJ roll a few tanks up to his house and put him in cuffs? Would he be placed on trial?

If so, on what charge?

Would the trial itself be secret?

Or would everyone suddenly look at each other and say, “We never realized it before, but the emperor has no clothes!”

What would happen if a Senator went into the sealed room, picked up the whole TPP text or the laptop on which it’s stored, bulled his way out of the room, passed the text to his security staff, and had them forward every page to a few hundred media outlets around the world?

Would DHS agents shoot these people in broad daylight, just to protect the interests of David Rockefeller and his Globalist heavy hitters?

Why haven’t the New York Times, the Washington Post, CBS, NBC, ABC, the BBC and other outlets run major stories that detail under what precise authority the TPP text is being kept secret?

What are we missing here?

power outside the matrix

Is it simply that a bunch of national leaders and corporate big shots and trade representatives nodded and said: “Keep the text a secret”?

Did they arbitrarily give the TPP negotiating process a name, a label, with the word “authority” in it?

I just met with myself and decided to establish The Naked TPP Authority. I gave it primacy over all other negotiating bodies, and by its declaration, the full text of the TPP must be published for the whole world to see, for two years, before any further votes take place.

There. It’s done.

I fully believe my Naked Authority carries more Constitutional justification than the current scheme, which is clearly criminal.

US Congressman: “I’m sorry, my lips are sealed, I’m bound, I can’t reveal what’s in the treaty that will adversely affect the lives of hundreds of millions of people.”

“Wrong. You’re lying. You can reveal secret text. In fact, it’s your duty. Otherwise, you’re guilty of cooperating in a RICO criminal conspiracy. Now, let’s start at the beginning. Who told you that you had to remain silent? What US law did they cite? Take your time. We’ll stay here as long as it takes.”

Article 2, Section 2, Clause 2 of the US Constitution states: “[The President] shall have Power, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Senate, to make Treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur…”

Nothing there about secret treaties. Nothing there about the President having the discretion to keep the text of treaties secret.

Of course, a President could argue that treaties, if exposed to the light of day prior to a Senate vote, would face so much criticism and cross-talk that they would never pass.

But that’s a practical issue and problem. It’s called “free speech.” It’s also sometimes called “dissent.”

I wanted to get this near the top.. IT IS THE SECURITY CLEARANCES THAT ANYONE WHO EVEN SNIFFS POWER HAS TO HAVE. This is a vow to lie and be lied to. the deal with the devil and no opt out.. maybe 25 million Americans jobs depends on them.

  2. victoryintruth says:

Exactly! By what authority, indeed…..Almost nothing ANY level of our government does is Constitutional or with any true authority. Jon, you need to see what the National Liberty Alliance is doing to bring back OUR common law and common law grand juries in OUR courts. THAT’S how we’re going to go after these filth who are hell-bent on taking and ruining everything. We will get our power, our voices and our rightful authority over our SERVANT government at ALL levels.

  3. If none of them disclose the contents, then they must all be impeached. It’s time to start hacking out faux congressmen.

    • Greg O. says:

I’m going to assume that you meant by way of the election process when you say: “It’s time to start hacking out faux congressmen”. The time is long past to think that “voting” is going to change anything. The system has been hijacked. You’re actually closer to reality if you meant that statement literally.

      • […] to throw them out with immediate recall or however the given state handles it, each time we see them commit an act against the Constitution. Why wait for election? We need to not protest TO them, but rather hold citizens’ events to get information out, to undo their controlled media. We have to converse with each other, local first, and on up. WE are the powerful ones. They know that. When they see that WE know that, they will be done. This tyranny has been only by our own implied permission.

          You are so right Rosalie!

      Absolutely!

  4. As is common with the rotting republic,

The so-called “authorities” and “leaders” are very afraid to release the details. For one, they are probably being held hostage to fear of reprisal; against them and/or their families, and Two, the sincere outrage (if the public is not too DUMBED DOWN) that may result from the contents of the treaty(ies).

It seems there is more value in keeping secret from the people, EVEN IF we are talking policies that chance to adveresly-affect the very future of humanity, the world over.

    – Very tragic state of affairs indeed!

  5. swo8 says:

They have no right keeping these details secret. In any binding agreement both sides most not only know the terms of the agreement they must also be in agreement with those terms. Therefore, should they try to keep it secret, it can’t be legally binding.

  6. maialynda says:

They have to say nothing because they are party to this treaty and will benefit greatly if it passes. Also, they might be blackmailed into silence as well. The administration and those who pull the strings are not above doing some dirty fatal tricks.
Another thing is this treaty is perfect to set up the neo feudalistic society which has been planned for a long time now.

Seems to me that Obama used the phase “Federal govt.transparency” in many of his speeches when running for the presidency. I must have dreamt it!

  8. T Dobbs says:

I hope you don’t mind but I used some of your questions in my letter to my Congressman about this issue. Seems like a very common sense question to ask. I’ll let you know if I get an answer.

  9. middleway says:

… and let’s not forget the sibling of the Transpacific Partnership, the TTIP or Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. Both are being secretly negotiated and their final protocols and doctrines will override (or trump) all existing national regulations, laws, rights and sovereignty. These agreements are being negotiated from the ‘enlightened’ perspective that the new ‘one world reality’ has transcended the old divisive reality which was based on national identity and personal self interest. Once the sleeping horde finally wake up from their religious obsession with bread and circuses,… not a pretty picture.

As always, Jon… the naked truth!

This is the most blatant demonstration of organized crime I’ve witnessed in a very long time.

    […]

  14. Greg O. says:

That there are not mobs in the streets protesting this BLATANTLY CRIMINAL ACT, speaks to — not merely the decline — but the absolute FREEFALL that this country/world is in.

I’ve made my opinions of the corrupt MSM very clear in the past but this “major trade agreement”, as they like to vaguely term it, is usually only mentioned in a passing context. For instance, on a recent 60 Minutes puff piece about our US Ambassador to Japan, World Class Stepford Wife, Carolyn Kennedy, the “reporter” was more concerned about being seen jogging through the streets of Tokyo with The American Princess, than telling any kind of usable truth.

This evening, current Network Golden Boy Anchor & Globalist Stooge, David Muir was shown bravely busting street vendors for counterfeit make up and car airbags. Out fighting the good fight for “Truth, Justice and The American Way” ol’ Davy-boy is.

Point being that one TRUTHFUL primetime news story on the TPP, and the Public just MIGHT be roused out of their bovine-like trance. Again, heavy emphasis on the word “MIGHT”. But we will never know because, as comedian Dana Carvey’s buffoonish (but not really, because he’s be just as instrumental in this crime than anyone) George Herbert Walker Bush would have said “Ain’t gonna happen!”.

And talking to friends, family and coworkers? Outside of a very few that I know who are AWAKE and interested, I am that Annoying Guy who likes to go on and on with all that boring political stuff. The sickening irony in all of this is that many of these “citizens” are Sixties era hipsters and “rebels” (a word that disgusts me in the way it is used and overused these days) who think they are so cool and knowing in their blasé cynicism. Many of these posers are artists who should be calling out these Legal Criminals by way of their creative energy. Sorry, I don’t know the author, but this says it all for me: “ART SHOULD COMFORT THE DISTURBED AND DISTURB THE COMFORTABLE”.

Well, that comment meandered a little bit… started to say something else but I can’t remember what it was… the TPP has huge consequences for all of us. Anyway Jon, I hope you continue to hammer on this subject. Your articles get forwarded on to the living AND the dead.

  16. R. Hawthorne says:

The same situation appears in Europe, here the TTIP is top secret and eyes only. There is nothing to see in the mass media and politicians are ordered to “know nothing about this term”. So same situation on both sides of the mirror.

  17. jacobite2015 says:

Everything is disgusting with the government anymore – from the local and state level all the way up to the federal level. It’s nothing more than a tyrannical form of leadership that has taken over the stars & stripes. Didn’t Jefferson once warn us of this?

“Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms of government those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.”
    —-Thomas Jefferson

  18. Henrique says:

Come on, don’t be naive, Rappoport. They’re all Masons, they’re all vetted and sworn to secrecy among themselves in advance. That’s the reason they can’t tell the masses what’s on the treaty. Simple as that. But they don’t want to explain THAT to the masses as well. Keeping mum.

Now get a daring journalist nowadays to actually ask one of them not the contents of the thing, but why they can’t talk about it. And keep pushing for a straightforward answer. That’s something I would like to see.

  19. georgiakevin says:

I am ashamed of the President and both partiess for carrying on with secrecy of this. With the cloak and dagger attitude they have it makes me wonder what they don’t want the American public to know and if in reality the very ones who voted for it and support it think it’s really a bad deal and that once again American are getting screwed!

  20. I’ve been asking these questions for a LONG time now, many of your followers Jon, know the answers to a lot of the questions you put forward, but its the masses that don’t seem to recognize these questions. In many cases they are too busy to ask exactly what you are asking. I have been following the issues going on in the UK with David Cameron to supposedly aid in counter terrorism, but instead, turning all in the UK into suspects…with this new bill they want to sweep thru the parliament to deal with EXTREMIST people. If this new bill passes, things like ” 911 was an inside job” could be counted as a possible terrorist act, for disagreeing with the governments view. TOO CRAZY…. Here in the USA we have the NDAA…what a load of garbage.

  21. Richard says:

Why doesn’t someone file a Freedom of Information Act request for the hidden TPP and then file a lawsuit against Obama to stop him

  22. desertspeaks says:

you let them get away with it in Ovomitcare/ACA… your fault!
