Everybody knows Jonathan Gruber now. He was a consultant who helped frame the Obamacare law.
He’s stated that that, yes, Obamacare has a tax in its provisions, and yes the public was deceived.
Gruber: “This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies… [I]f you had a law which said that healthy people are going to pay in – you made explicit healthy people pay in and sick people get money, it would not have passed… Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really really critical for the thing to pass… Look, I wish Mark was right that we could make it all transparent, but I’d rather have this law than not.”
Tax? Penalty? Tax? Penalty?
Either way, Obamacare is an order, a command, from on high.
The whole debate hides the real fact: people are being coerced into a system that kill and maims at a staggeringly high level.
No one in Congress or the White House brought that up during the process of promoting and passing the bill. Too hot to handle. Much too hot.
If you have a system that is already killing a huge number of people, and you make that system bigger and bring millions more people under the same umbrella, the death toll will accelerate.
The key journal paper on medical destruction is: Dr. Barbara Starfield, Journal of the American Medical Association, July 26, 2000, “Is US Health Really the Best in the World?”
Every year in the US, the medical system kills 225,000 people. 106,000 die as a result of FDA-approved medical drugs. The other 119,000 die as a result of mistreatment in hospitals.
I use the Starfield report because it is right down the middle of mainstream medicine. Before her death, Starfield was a widely respected public health expert. For many years, she worked at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. The Journal of the American Medical Association is as mainstream and prestigious as you can get.
I’m fully aware that independent researchers have pegged the death toll from the US medical system at a much higher number. But I wanted to show that, even in “The Club,” the statistics are known to be horrendous.
Think about it. The US medical system kills 225,000 Americans per year. That adds up to 2.25 MILLION deaths per decade.
Not long before her death, I interviewed Dr. Starfield. I asked her whether anyone from the federal government had ever asked her to consult, to help fix the medical system. Her answer was a stark No.
I asked her whether she was aware of any significant government program directed at fixing the system. Again, she answered: No.

Try this fictional analogy. You work for the government in auto safety. You know two things. Every tenth car in America contains a fatal flaw that will cause a crash at speeds in excess of 40mph. And, as a result of new legislation lowering the driving age, millions more Americans will be on the road. What would you do?
US politics lives and thrives on PR, and PR makes its money from empty generalizations and promises. In the medical arena, it’s all about “better care for all,” “humane concern for everyone,” “breakthroughs coming soon,” “money for more research,” etc.
This has nothing to do with the actual effects of the system. It has nothing to do with reality.
Well, here is the reality. By the most conservative estimate, the US medical system kills 2,250,000 people per decade.
That’s the system that’s heading for massive expansion under Obamacare.
You have a choice. You can go with the empty PR, or you can face the facts and realize what’s going to happen.
“Well,” some people have told me, “the politicians in charge don’t really understand what the medical system is doing to people. It’s just ignorance. Their hearts are in the right place.”
And that matters? That argument has nothing to do with ongoing death stemming from standard medical practice.
The death statistics I’m citing in this article aren’t a state secret.
Doctors chopping off women’s breasts for no reason. Medical drugs putting people into the grave. Vaccines causing neurological damage. Psychiatric drugs blasting brains and pushing people over into suicide and murder…no problem. The politicians’ hearts are in the right place.
Walk through a cemetery and try that defense.
Tax? Penalty? Tax? Penalty?
I just did the math. The US medical system killed 25 people while I was writing this article.

If the Republicans, who now have the majority in both Houses of Congress and Senate, don’t repeal Obamacare in 2015, kick them all out in 2016.
Republicans and Democrats, will have given you the ultimate certainty, that in fact, there is only ONE corrupted Party in the USA.. There is no difference between them.
Only vote for Libertarians.
Are there still doctors that will not give information that a patient gives them to government or insurance companies? Doctors that will accept green cash? Doctors that will not try to sell the patient on MRIs, CAT scans, vaccines, or cutting edge technology? Is Obamacare making it more difficult to get old fashion medical treatment?
I find it strange that so many people want to visit the doctor so often and that they are proud of the procedures that they have had. It’s as if they are getting a treat when use medical services. Will Obamacare reduce costs by making these treats more scarce? If so, shouldn’t they get some of these procedures done to them now before the treatments become more difficult to get? They may not have a broken arm now but if they get one next year, they may not be able to get an x-ray then so, just to be safe, they probably should get an x-ray now.
Can it be any more “in our face”? Stunning closing sentence!
I read on another site where gruber was paid $400,000. just for his part in this.. The healthcare, drug companies, etc lobby for all of this, I mean really, they run this country. Don’t sign up for this, yes we will get taxed as the penalty, was that not the entire point? To get more money from the people who live hand to mouth
A privately owned for profit health care system is not a public health care system. Forcing people to purchase private health insurance is an extortion racket by the banksters. People that print fake money and are selling insurance are committing fraud. They take no risk.
Only the military and the politicians have a health care system here in this militarist state called a republic.
We have no public health care system in the U.S.A. .
You are reiterating the essential lie of the extortion racketeers, namely that we enjoy a public health care system.
Two essential points: First one stems from the italicized quote. Rich, healthy Americans don’t give a damn about the sicknesses of the poor. The poor have not made enough money to play in the American medical industry, so screw them…let them die of cancer or heart disease if they cannot pay. To some extent Obamacare has reversed this.
Second point. he is quite wrong about the estimate of death from medical errors, which he quotes from the late Barbara Starfield in a publication from 2000.
Last year I published an article in the Journal of Patient Safety in which I estimated that the death toll associated with medical errors was about 440,000 per year. [Search startpage.com for] “A New, Evidence-based Estimate of Patient Harms Associated with Hospital Care.” This does not even count those harmed during out-patient care.
We have a capitalist, money-driven medical industry that is wrecking the economy and the lives of many people. Go read “Medicare Meltdown” if you want to see how the big money people exploit the ignorant, malleable masses.

And just HOW many people upbraided me over my “non-support” of “Obamacare”, no matter how much info I gave them. (They all chose to not read a single thing I submitted as case-example evidence against supporting this monstrosity!)

That’ll be +1 then.
Even quote some sources by a few of the other architects of the ill-named “Affordable” Care Act.
Yes… Just like the other ill-named “Patriot” Act.
THANK YOU!
Most Americans did not appreciate that either.
If Congress really wanted to fix the health care mess, they would let us buy health insurance across state lines, but Congress does not buy into simple solutions. There is a growing lack of options for patients when hospital based facilities gobble up freestanding practices. They are like a cancer that gradually spreads throughout a region and suddenly one is left with no choice but to go to a specialist within the hospital based clinic system and pay the additional facility fee. Therefore, not only are we screwed by lack of options in insurance plans, the prevailing winds now are hospitals that monopolize the market. They are no different from Ma Bell or Microsoft. Case in point, St Luke’s in Idaho owned by Community Health Systems and Kadlec Medical Center in Washington State, both birds of a feather.
the destructiveness of obamacare is hidden under the lie of “health care for everyone that cant afford it” — which sounds like a great thing, and, if your against poor people haveing it, you’re a monster, but, if you dig into it, its a way to control and rape the middle class.
i have not had insurance for 15 years — having under-the-table jobs i been unemployed for a couple of years, but, by law, i have to have it, so, i, by no choice of my own, have to contribute in destroying and adding to the countrys debt, because of fear of fines and jail time.
if i dont think i need it, why would they punish me if i dont want to help tax hard working americans. its not their responsibility. i’m a grown man and dont want the hand out.
