Tragic events, crises, threats are designed to capture our minds and hold us in a state of emergency, whether or not such a state is officially declared by our august leaders.
This “glue” is one aspect of the Matrix.
And of course, when events seem to threaten our very existence, these leaders are all too eager to enact responses and solutions that make the original crises pale by comparison.
We couldn’t be blamed for defining “solution” as “whatever is worse than the problem.”
In this sordid mix, what part of ourselves is being held down? What capability are we unwilling to exercise? What does fear keep us from doing?
It’s obvious that freedom takes a hit. We become more cautious about exercising our freedoms. However, freedom isn’t just an idea or an empty condition. Freedom implies power. Individual power.
If it didn’t, who would care one way or another about freedom? Who would make an issue out of it?
If each one of us didn’t have power, freedom would be no more than a fairy tale with which we could amuse ourselves.
The exploration of power is not something you’ll find in a school or in the workplace or in a community group. It’s a kind of taboo. People don’t talk about it.
Not talking about it makes as much sense as writing a book about the sun and neglecting to mention it gives off heat.
The repressed conversation about power is a cultural artifact. We’re somehow led to believe it’s impolite to bring up the subject. It’s self-aggrandizing. It runs against the grain of appearing humble. It seems to legislate against the mandatory premise that “we’re all in this together.”
What does this taboo conceal?
Power is the capacity to imagine and create.
Rather than being about “the truth,” power is about inventing new truth, in the sense that, when you create, you bring something into the world that wasn’t there before.
After a great artist or scientist makes imagination into fact, others then gather around and analyze the truth of what has just appeared. But the cardinal happening was the invention itself.
Even more important was the capacity to make imagination into fact.
Power.
Flowing from freedom.
This is what crisis and threat and tragedy seem to blanket with despair. But that is an illusion.
Nothing can happen in this world that changes or diminishes your inherent power, unless you decide it does.
Staged crises are also an example of power. They are perverse art flung up on the screen of our perception, designed to make us feel we have to give in. Give in to what? To the sacrifice of our own capacity to imagine and create reality.
“Somebody else made reality for me.”
That idea is also the hallmark of hypnosis. The subject, in a trance, accepts what is already real as the final summing up of his life. His only job is to adjust his actions to the world as it is.
There are many examples. Look at the mesmerizing tonnage of legend launched to convince the population of ancient India that the caste system was a cosmological necessity, given the rules of universal justice and the regulations governing reincarnation.
This “spiritual system” was, finally, a cosmic fascism. It was a work of art designed and managed by the aristocratic and priest classes, to cement their control over the population. In other words, these rulers invented a reality for the masses that thereafter commanded:
“We made reality for you. Your job is now to live inside it.”
Likewise, in recent centuries, the rise of science was twisted and extrapolated into its own legend: materialism.
“There is nothing beyond particles whirling in space. That’s it. That’s what is real, everywhere. You live inside this idea. Adjust. Reject any thoughts that don’t mesh with it.”
And against all this is, if we want it, freedom. Power. The individual capacity to imagine and create reality.
How far does this power extend?
Life on planet Earth appears to mandate against any far-reaching exercise of creative power. That, too, is an illusion.
There are no limits.
The whole repeating covert op of tragedy, tragedy, tragedy, grieving, grieving, grieving, coming together, healing…the whole endless and repeating ceremony is put there to assure us that we are little creatures with nowhere else to go but Acceptance. This, we are told, is our only option for redemption.
This idea has been sold in the marketplace of spiritual commerce since the dawn of time.
It’s a straight-out lie. It’s told, again and again, to serve rulers.
And rulers want to make sure that the number of creatively powerful individuals is kept to a bare minimum. Otherwise, the single monolithic reality they have invented and sold would shake and fall apart.
Drowned in a multidimensional triumph of many powerful individuals creating many brilliant and simultaneous realities.
That is the true unalloyed meaning of an open society.

Excellent article, you are reading my mind!!.
Thank you Jon. Another excellent post providing food for my hungry mind, and follows so well from yesterday’s post.
Very appropriate while our society is involved in the strongly manufactured plastic consensus reality that we call “Christmas” (keep ’em busy, keep ’em quiet, and don’t let ’em ask any questions – just dangle some pretty, cute, distracting baubles from the ceiling).
I could quite easily compose a whole essay, or should I say thesis, on these two posts.
Whatever this time means to you and your readers, I hope you can all take the time to enjoy some peace and quiet and reflection with those whom you love and those whom you genuinely call friends.
Cheers, and thanks again,
[…] The “glue” that makes us all average, normal, and clueless […]
We need presidents to declare wars. Otherwise we would get bored with so much peace and happiness. No joke.
Hi Jon- Don’t think I have read your work before. Well said. Reassuring that another gets it like I do, but in their own way and says it better than I would. A variation on a current upcoming buzzphrase that I came up with to explain what the programming accomplishes: Conformity bias. If you have any use for it, you are welcome to use it. I don’t write on the subjects you do.
Thanks again
Michael Astera
why is it then if that is the case, does the ruling elite in the fortress of ultimate darkness conceal the talmud, yet make all the politically correct programming available on talmudvision in this pretend open society…?
and why do they Hate Jesus, Truth and Justice as a “Religion”…?
[…] The ‘Glue’ That Makes Americans Average, Normal…Clueless […]
Don’t watch TV and tune out the mainstream media in all forms; apply critical thinking to all events. Example Sandy Hook is a fake, a psy-op, 911 was a false flag. Easy to see if you tune out the brainwashing.
Happy 2013 to all.
Jon, you must be a man that knows he is alone in the world. I’m alone, too. It doesn’t matter how many are slapping you on the back, or even thronging, hollerering, “Hey, Jon, you’re so great, and here am I, important enough, myself, [somehow, but entirely unbeknownst to me and I’m not allowed to tell how great I am] to be able to get close to you so that you are able to bolster me.”
Yes, you’re alone. Actors love “little” people (“fans”) thronging them and eat it as candy, but real people, in the real know, don’t need it. It’s how you wrote such an amazing article as this one. Your knowledge is so real that you have learned how to write about “the” taboo of taboos in such a way that you can slip it through and touch other real people.
I was spotted by the system that makes the drones–of which you
write–when I was still wearing diapers. Everybody is detected by that system, really (as you point out so well), in the sense of “the system sees you,” but mainly it happens in huge blocks of numbers and all are washed and showered as a large group, not individually as I was. I’ve lived a whole lifetime of the kind that Stanley Kubrick pointed out in, “A Clockwork Orange.” Indeed, when I watched the movie shortly after it came out, I was aware start to finish that the movie was about me. However, I’ve progressed a long way beyond Kubrick’s finish. Now I am in totally uncharted waters and beyond the reach of “the system” except minimally, as mentioned in the final paragraph below.
The system, of which you write, is designed (by what ultimate powers that may only be guessed at: Evolution by accident or design? God? Satan? The individual perceiver?) not to allow great men and women to exist except on the system’s own terms and in its own way, in special small groups of “great ones” acceptable to the system. It’s why and how all government officials and other tin-foil “great” men/women are compromised and controlled to do only what they are ordered to do.
Thus, the system employs special sensors (of the kind you know so well and write about here) to ferret out individual “rogue” greatness and squash it. Although I have gone through entirely inhuman and absolutely inhumane individual “washing and showering” processes in my 73 years here, simply because of what and who I am and ought else, I am not broken. Indeed, I’ve managed to set the whole system aside and continue on my way, catapulting myself to ever greater heights of realization and being via the very energies employed to destroy me and make me a herd animal of the kind you delineate.
Indeed, this very comment, which will be processed through the washers and wipers of one or more of the many multi-billion dollar “fusion centers” designed for the purpose, may be deleted without reaching the destination intended, except and only except, that a miracle intervene. Virtually, if not all, the writing and speaking I do is to the system and not individuals or groups in the broader society, because the system is standing between me and my audience. So, if you get to read this at all let me wish you good luck and good fortune.
People need to remove themselves from the corporation known as United States. Running for office in the defacto(unlawful) “government” will not achieve anything. Corp US is not meant to be fixed. It is meant to control. Even if Jon would have been elected, nothing could have been done to straighten out the system.
Q: In this sordid mix, what part of ourselves is being held down?
A: The flesh and blood, living-soul is held down by the “Legal Person”. The Legal Person is what is controlled by Corp US.
Q: What capability are we unwilling to exercise?
A: Separating our “selfs” from the Legal Person that is under the jurisdiction of Corp US.
Q:What does fear keep us from doing?
A: Recording a UCC-1 Financing Statement and learning how to defend our “Self” from a bankrupt, foreign-owned corporation. We are able to get out of the US without moving out of the country.
All Titles of the United States Code (USC) are strictly meant for the United States and none of the 50 states of the Union. Each of the 50 states have their own constitutions and laws. See Hepburn v. Ellzey, 2 Cranch, 445, 452, and John Barron v The Mayor and City of Baltimore 32 U.S. 243 (1833). These last two cases clearly state that the United States is not the 50 states of the Union.
“United States” is the “District of Columbia” incorporated.
“The United States government is a foreign corporation with respect to a State” Volume 20: Corpus Juris Sec. § 1785,
Also: NY re: Merriam 36 N.E. 505 1441 S. 0.1973, 14 L. Ed. 287
In UNITED STATES CODE, Title 28,
in Section 3002 Definitions,
it states the following:
(15) “United States” means—
(A) a Federal corporation;
