Ferguson used old failed model to predict COVID deaths

Buying, for the moment, the official story about the “pandemic,” there were two basic choices:
Let people go about their lives and develop, through contact, natural immunity to the disease; or imprison populations in their homes.
Why was the second choice made?
This is my second article about Neil Ferguson (first article, here), the UK professor whose computer model of COVID-19 changed the world and drove that second choice.
Ferguson’s model predicted a worst-case estimate of 510,000 deaths in the UK, and 2.2 million deaths in the US.
At that point, anybody who was anybody stood up and saluted.
Both heads of government, Trump and Johnson, radically changed course. Instead of allowing people to go about their lives and develop natural immunity, they took the lockdown approach, devastating their economies.
Below, I’ll reprint quotes from my first article, exposing Professor Ferguson’s track record of abysmal and destructive failures in predicting the spread of diseases.
This record was available to anyone—including Trump, Fauci, Deborah Birx, Boris Johnson—but of course these important people have no time to read or think.
Apparently, a key White house conversation went something like this:
FAUCI: Mr. President, we have a new report from the UK. A computer model is predicting the spread of the epidemic. There could be 2 million deaths in the US, if we don’t take drastic action. There must be heavy lockdowns. The state governors will have to carry that ball, but your position on this needs to be unequivocal.
TRUMP: Two million deaths. You’re sure?
FAUCI: Yes, sir. Quite sure.
TRUMP: No way out? Except lockdowns?
FAUCI: That’s right.
TRUMP: Well, then. Okay.
The sheer brilliance in the Oval Office that day must have been blinding.
So, first up, let’s take a peek at a recent article from Nature, the venerable British medical journal. April 2, “Special report: The [computer] simulations driving the world’s response to COVID-19”:
“…it’s natural to wonder how reliable any of the [computer] simulations are. Unfortunately, during a pandemic it is hard to get data — such as on infection rates — against which to judge a model’s projections.”
This is called a clue. Computer models predicting the spread of disease may be an interesting academic exercise, but in the real world, where lives and nations are on the line, THE DATA, on which the projections are based, are elusive. Without accurate data, what do you have? How about opinion, bias, and conjecture?
Nature: “’You can project [via computer models] forwards and then compare against what you get. But the problem is that our surveillance systems are pretty rubbish’, says John Edmunds, who is a modeller at the LSHTM [London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine]. ‘The total numbers of cases reported, is that accurate? No. Accurate anywhere? No’.”
I see. Rubbish. Total number of cases—inaccurate everywhere. Bad data. No data. In other words, the computer models are sophisticated tripe.
Nature: “’Forecasts made during an outbreak are rarely investigated during or after the event for their accuracy, and only recently have forecasters begun to make results, code, models and data available for retrospective analysis,’ Edmunds and his team noted last year in a paper that assessed the performance of forecasts made in a 2014–15 Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone. They found that it was possible to reliably predict the epidemic’s course one or two weeks ahead of time, but no longer, because of the inherent uncertainty and lack of knowledge about the outbreak.”
Computer predictions are rarely investigated for accuracy. Can’t make accurate predictions for more than two weeks ahead. Do you suppose Fauci, who has served as a public health dictator since medieval times, is aware of this, but is ignoring it? That’s a rhetorical question, Your Honor. I withdraw it. The answer is obvious.
Finally, Nature provides us with this startling factoid: “The 16 March simulations that the [Neil Ferguson] team ran to inform the UK government’s COVID-19 response used an agent-based model built in 2005 to see what would happen in Thailand if H5N1 avian flu mutated to a version that could spread easily between people.”
That’s like saying, “This year, the driver in the Indianapolis 500 is sitting in a car built 15 years ago. He’s dusted it off and hopes it works and doesn’t crash into the wall.”
You may think this is an unkind comparison, but we know something about that dusty Ferguson 2005 computer model of avian flu. Here is a quote from the Business insider, 4/25:
“…he [Ferguson] was accused of creating panic by overestimating the potential death toll during the 2005 Bird [avian] Flu outbreak. Ferguson estimated 200 million could die. The real number was in the low hundreds.”
THIS is the basic model Ferguson has now used to project deaths from COVID-19.
Are your eyeballs popping? They should be.
Without further ado, here is the Business Insider, 4/25, reporting Neil Ferguson’s other grotesque prediction failures:
“Michael Thrusfield, a professor of veterinary epidemiology at Edinburgh University, told the paper he had ‘déjà vu’ after reading the [Ferguson] Imperial paper [on COVID], saying Ferguson was responsible for excessive animal culling during the 2001 Foot and Mouth [actually, Mad Cow disease] outbreak.”
“Ferguson warned the government that 150,000 people could die. Six million animals were slaughtered as a precaution, costing the country billions in farming revenue. In the end, 200 people died.”
“In 2009, one of Ferguson’s models predicted 65,000 people could die from the Swine Flu outbreak in the UK — the final figure was below 500.”
Want more? The Business Insider raises the level of shock even higher.
“Ferguson co-founded the MRC Centre for Global Infectious Disease Analysis, based at Imperial [College], in 2008. It is the leading body advising national governments on pathogen outbreaks.”
“It gets tens of millions of dollars in annual funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and works with the UK National Health Service, the US Centres for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), and is tasked with supplying the World Health Organization with ‘rapid analysis of urgent infectious disease problems’.”
Getting the picture?
Bill Gates wants a COVID vaccine before planetary lockdowns end. The lockdowns, of course, are already making a wreck of the Earth’s economies.
Bill Gates’ money goes to Ferguson.
Ferguson supplies, to the CDC and WHO, a vastly worthless but frightening computer projection of COVID deaths. Ferguson thus communicates a justification for the Gates global vaccine plan.
The CDC and WHO act, based on what Gates wants, as expressed by Ferguson.
National governments surrender to WHO and CDC. LOCKDOWNS.
What say you, Trump, Johnson, Merkel, Macron, et al? Are you merely clueless idiots, no brighter than some passerby on a street corner who’s handed a sign for a protest, and joins the line, having zero idea what he’s supporting? Are you that stupid, as you point to Ferguson’s farce of a computer model, with eyes glazed?
Are you simply in fear of experts who, on their best day, should be consigned to modelling numbers of cockroaches in motel rooms?

Business Insider, 4/25: “Ferguson’s team warned Boris Johnson that the quest for ‘herd immunity’ [letting people live their lives out in the open in the UK] could cost 510,000 lives, prompting an abrupt U-turn [massive national lockdown in the UK]…His [Ferguson’s] simulations have been influential in other countries as well, cited by authorities in the US, Germany, and France.”
“On March 23, the UK scrapped ‘herd immunity’ in favor of a suppression strategy, and the country made preparations for weeks of lockdown. Ferguson’s study was responsible.”
“Dr Deborah Birx, coronavirus response coordinator to the Trump administration, told journalists at a March 16 press briefing that the Imperial paper [Ferguson’s computer projection] prompted the CDC’s new advice to work from home and avoid gatherings of 10 or more.”

I agree that calling it “novel” is a funny double entendre because I read the great American novel titled “Andromeda Strain” by Micheal Crichton in 1973 in the big cushy reading chair in my parents basement in Niagara Falls. I was hit with a vision this morning that forced me to make a distinction between VIRUS and BACTERIA. A well known bacteria is Salmonella or food poisoning from foods sitting too long without chilling or undercooking. That is precaution I take all the time. I believe Salmonella food poisoning exists. Bacteria exist. I eat good bacteria in yogurt and other supplements. Viruses on the other hand are never “supplements”. I cannot buy “virus supplement”. Now I’m wondering– why not? Scarier, to me, is going to be the vaccine. Fast-tracked, limited testing (like there’s ANY extended testing on vaccines), immunity from liability in the US, and a piss poor track record of tracking vaccine injuries (estimates are that only 1% of vaccine adverse reactions are reported). The Mayan Calendar (the “Great Calendar” as far as total years laid out) was supposed to cover about 64 Million years. If we have elapsed those 64 Million years, then in essence – we have entered a “new age” – as each geologic “age” was represented as every 64 or 65 Million years.
Most who talk about the Mayan Calendar don’t seem to catch that little bit of information. A blog I was able to go, years ago, had a great write up on the Mayan Calendar. Unfortunately, it seems to have vanished, and no archive records of it found!

I put this card on a lanyard and and went into a private business. I showed it to the first person that told me I needed a mask. She went and got the owner. I thought about trying to wake people up at nextdoor.com, but I’m completely convinced that that is part of the police state. We constantly have an NJ Police/FEMA officer posting notices in there about “corona rumors” and reminders to get info from “reliable sources.” Last night, after someone posted that they were thinking about calling the police on neighbors for having a party and not social distancing, I decided to jump in and add my thoughts (but not on the full agenda since many/most seemed brianwashed). I said something like “I’m not worried about the virus (plenty of independent doctors say it’s similar to the flu), I’m more worried about the govt deliberately destroying the economy.” And then I clicked reply, but it did not post and I got this message: “When posting about COVID-19, reference guidance from the CDC or WHO and include a link to your source. Please use the terms “coronavirus” or “COVID-19” when referring to the virus.” Okay, so why would a neighborhood info swapping site want me to site my sources and refer back to the CDC or WHO??
I know this sounds childish (but I’m totally desperate), but I’ve even been thinking about making up flyers and putting them in people’s mailboxes (maybe starting out with basic info they haven’t heard before, like why is the media trotting Bill Gates out when he’s not an elected official, why does the media tell you Bill Gates is a good guy, when he’s done all of this damage in the third world with his vaccines).

I feel your pain Amanda. I’ve tried nextdoor and a couple times we’ve had a good discussion going and then it’s removed, as though we’re children and can’t handle a decisive topic. Not a ton of views but definitely some back and forth comments and people are getting more frustrated. Let me ask a question to those who read and digested J.B.’s posts here on viruses: Do you think his virus theory is the same as Kaufman and Cowan’s Exosome theory? To me it sounds pretty damn close.

Rick, I would say pretty much, yes. Dr. Kaufman’s been interviewed all over the place, and is very straight forward and articulate. Whether his exosome theory is accurate or not, he’s demolished the assertion that Covid19 is some “novel” virus, or a real virus at all. He’s gone through the major papers detailing the “sequencing” of of CV19 and taken aim at all of them, exposing the holes in all. He’s done one whole presentation on the absence of the fulfillment of Koch’s Postulates in this thing.
Cowan has been less “out there” interview wise, but yes, he aligns with theories of endogenous origins of virus and bacterial infections. I.E., seeing those phenomena as cleansing agents of toxicities in the body. Check them out, they’re both worth listening to.

I’m thinking that Dr Kaufman might be using “exosomes” and “endosomes” instead of “virus”, as most people equate “virus” with pathogenic instead of as helpers. Just my reasoning.
JB told us that Royal Rife had produced footage of viruses within a cell and multiplying (endosomes), then the cell releasing the viruses to go to work (exosomes). But since Rife’s Universal Microscope is not accepted by ‘scientists’ (maybe fair to say known by few modern ‘scientists’), the electron microscope is the gold standard. Virologists can only see dead/inactivated/spent viruses (in- or outside of the cells) because of the irradiation of the samples, and the toxic stains used to prepare the samples. According to Dr Kaufman, endosomes and exosomes look the same as viruses in pictures from the electron microscope (and they do to my non-virologist eyes lol).
As I have said before in my posts, I trust Jon’s synopsis: The coronavirus is not one thing.

THIS ‘coronavirus’, or COVID-19, is not one thing, just like AIDS is not one thing, HIV. It’s a syndrome.
Viruses do not kill people or animals, but genetic material (possibly indicative of viral presence) may be found in human or animal respiratory secretions.
But the virus doesn’t turn on its host and cause illness or kill, it’s job is to protect the host by dissolving/helping to neutralize toxins in the host’s body.
The syndrome is some or many toxins making people sick. Even in people that are claimed to be ‘perfectly healthy’, something or some things are making them sick. It could be as ‘simple’ as allergies. Or fear. Re: patents. Due to viruses being specific to host, even similar viruses are going to be genetically different from host to host. There are over 320,000 viruses (types; trillions of actual virus particles) in the human body. I suspect the patents are for show, planned in advance, in order to justify a vaccine. They can say they’ve engineered or weaponized a virus, but there’s the reason to vaccinate–to fight that virus. Some stories are that this virus came from a bio lab in Wuhan. Some stories say yeah, Wuhan, but originally from North Carolina.
Distractions. Doesn’t matter who, when, where. Gives the mass hysteria media something to throw out, in the opposite direction of crashing the economy and keeping us fenced in or buried.

*Suspended particulate matter could be pollen, toxic vapors, aerosols, spores, soot or dust…most are harmful to living beings beyond critical limits of concentration in the atmosphere.
*If nonliving suspended particulate matter like say soot or heavy metals damage living tissue resulting in disease or death then why can’t viruses do the same?

REVERSIBLE CATASTROPHY
Certain things can reverse this disaster. Trump via the Treasury which has taken control of the Fed can force the write down of 1000 Trillion in worthless derivatives contracts. He can bring back Glass Steagall Act that separates that speculative banking from commercial/personal banking. He can force up the price of oil to preserve the petro-dollar. He can permit currencies based on things other than oil to exist and slowly get us away from having the ONLY reserve currency in the world. Why not have several reserve currencies? To do that you need to stabilize currency exchange rates by bringing back the Bretton Woods agreement. All of this chaos CAN be stabilized. WE at this level of little people can learn these things.

An EASIER way to deal with them is to have those who hold them to simply write them off. They’re not “real” in any sense of PHYSICAL ECONOMICS like a high-speed rail line, acreages of farmland, or factories with machine tools. They’re just gambling bets based on math formulas. Trump and the Treasury (which now controls the Fed) can force holders of Derivative Contracts to WRITE THEM DOWN or OFF… so no “currency reset” is required. Bring in Glass-Stegall separation of SPECULATIVE banking to separate it from COMMERCIAL-CONSUMER banking and we can “go back to normal”. Nothing is inevitable about an impending economic crash other than the crash of the derivatives. But WE don’t hold those. THEY do… the holders of those instruments. Let them fail and WE go on with our routines.
