The fatal flaw in the brain-computer interface
by Jon Rappoport

There is a great deal of “utopian research” going on in the area of artificial intelligence (AI) merging with the brain.
Exuberant cheerleaders like Ray Kurzweil are quite confident we are approaching a moment when a computer will exhibit all the power of the human brain. And more.
Kurzweil and others are also sure we’re about to uncover the “algorithm” that underlies all brain activity.
They couldn’t be more wrong. Neuroscience has barely scratched the surface of understanding how the brain operates. Cracking the code is not on the horizon.
Most importantly: how would a brain-computer interface work? Hook up your brain to a super-computer, and how does your brain absorb the computer’s data, and how does it make the data known to YOU, the user?
We aren’t talking about a quiz show where you ask a computer a question and it spits out an answer. And we aren’t talking about crude signals to the brain that can provoke physical reactions. This is about the transmission of detailed information.
There is another problem, even assuming a computer could magically fill your consciousness with usable data.
A human-computer interface, endowed with access to a hundred galaxies of stored data, would run up against the problem of vast chronic misinformation in those cosmic warehouses.
This is not something that can be deleted with a program or a committee tasked with making corrective changes.
For example, and here is just one area, medical science is rife with fraud, at many levels, as I’ve demonstrated over and over again for the past 30 years. AI wouldn’t even know where or how to begin analyzing this problem, because…who would set the parameters of such an investigation? Who would even believe such an investigation is necessary?
There is an inherent self-limiting function in AI. It uses, accesses, collates, and calculates with, false information. Not just here and there or now and then, but on a continuous basis.
Think about all the entrenched institutions and monopolies in our society. Each one of them proliferates false information in cascades.
No machine can correct that. Indeed, AI machines are victims to it. They in turn emanate more falsities based on the information they are utilizing.
Each and every false datum generates a wider and wider stream of lies, and the streams, becoming rivers, overlap and produce oceans of contaminated information.
The oceans of false information that circulate in this world—and are loaded into the super-computer—would be yours. The best model I can think of for THAT is…
Mainstream news.
Yes, you’ll have access to instantaneous floods of “mainstream news” info. Congratulations.
“Recognized authorities” would be feeding you data, by way of their vaunted super-computer. This is exactly where the human-AI interface is heading, like a team of horses being driven toward the edge of a cliff above an ocean.
The human-AI connection would be fatally compromised. In journalistic terms, your brain would AUTOMATICALLY be subjected to untold numbers of “mainstream reporters obeying the parameters laid down by their editors and corporate owners.”
The result? Absurdly limited context, deception, fatuous presumption of authority.
If, instead, you want to look for a program that would discount such a presumption and would reject institutional secrecy and disinformation, a program that would undertake a relentless investigation of the quality of data, there is a potential candidate.
It’s called a human being.
And it’s not a program.
It’s called you.
There is nothing like it.
I’m not writing to inform a super-computer.
I’m writing to individuals, whose consciousness is their own and surpasses what any computer can do by light years.
Super-computers of the future will be nothing more than the super-evening-news.
“Hello, Mr. Smith. I’m your brain. I just received three tons of data from ‘the evening network news’…uh, I mean the wonderful super-computer of all-truth and all-knowing that is leading us into a paradise of wisdom. I will commence transmitting now. Your IQ will rise by twenty points in the next two minutes…excuse me, this just in: a pandemic is breaking out in the UK, Canada, Australia, and the US. There are already three cases. The virus is called X-23-6. The World Health Organization has a vaccine available. A technician is in your neighborhood now, and will arrive soon to administer a shot…”
I can’t wait.
Trillions of dollars went into the research project to create a brain-computer interface, and this is the result.
It’s sublime, I tell you. Sublime.
HELLO, CITIZEN. WE’RE YOUR LEADERS. ALL THE LIES AND HALF-TRUTHS AND FAKE NEWS WE’VE BEEN FEEDING YOU THROUGH YOUR SCREENS ALL THESE YEARS? NOW WE’RE SHOVELING IT INTO YOU DIRECTLY THROUGH YOUR BRAIN. WE USED TO CALL IT OPERANT CONDITIONING AND MIND CONTROL AND HUMAN PROGRAMMING. NOW WE CALL IT COSMIC CONSCIOUSNESS. DON’T WORRY, BE HAPPY. THE PROCESS IS AUTOMATIC. YOU WON’T KNOW WHAT’S HAPPENING, SO YOU WON’T BE DISTURBED. YOU WON’T KNOW THERE IS ANOTHER REALITY. THEREFORE, WHY WOULD YOU CARE? IT TURNS OUT THAT IGNORANCE IS ACTUALLY BLISS.
THIS IS ACTUALLY THE BEST OF ALL POSSIBLE WORLDS.

Don’t these peoples have better things to do than to try to screw us all day long?
These useful idiots wants us to believe that what they believe is the only truth in the universe.?
Are they kidding me?
I think they might be suffering from something called manic psychosis, combined with grandiose delusions.
AI will never be fully implemented because as Abraham Lincoln once said: You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”
People already have a much harder time unplugging from their devices for 24 hours. So if this direct interface ever comes about, there will be people lining up at Best Buy to get theirs first. It will have a user interface so you can more quickly do things like tweet and like and all the other indispensable activities people now enjoy every day. And no ad blockers, restoring the full revenue stream for content providers. It will be hyped as a “win-win” and it will be the coolest thing to be “downloading” like smoking was years ago, and maybe have the same relaxing effect.
This might not be the place but after reading, and thinking about, that article you wrote on aliens the other day I got to thinking- your take on aliens being an excuse to hide human achievement makes a lot of sense to me but for a rather trivial reason. I’ve looked into “aliens” for a while now, and have heard of greys and reptilians and asian looking aliens and mantis insect like aliens and tall blonde nordics and even crayfish looking aliens, but you know what aliens I’ve never heard of?
A negro/black alien.
Think about it for a moment, I bet no one has ever heard of one. Logically speaking your telling me a insect can evolve and become space travelling alien, even whites and asians- but no one has seen a black extraterrestrial? If I was someone up at top making space aliens up to hide advanced human technology, it make sense to not have one. Logically though it makes no sense.
But maybe I’m wrong, what do you have to say on this Jon?
Like in the Book Cyber-Eugenics: The Neural Code.
is the novel a good read?

Enjoyed. Takes place during Obama/Clinton run for the White House.
Back in the dawn of miniaturized computing, there was a phrase every would-be programmer learned early on–Garbage In, Garbage Out. GIGO.
Computer programs consist at the core of number crunching. That’s all the central processor does. It can only test for “true” or “false” by numerical assignment. Mathematics doesn’t care about the validity of your premise. It will allow you to be confident in a wrong solution, because mathematical algorithms cannot distinguish between reality and artificiality. Only humans can, who try desperately to invest it into computer code.
But if humans were good at distinguishing reality from artificiality, there wouldn’t be any mass movements. People would not be looking for substitutes for their needs. They would not be losing themselves in the artificial world of Facebook, Pintrest, Tweets, and propaganda.
True, and our subconsciousness is like the mainframe, it operates on what it is fed. It doesn’t care about validity. Thus, neural linguistic programming is able to bypass the conscious mind through subliminal and hypnotic programming techniques which are everywhere, every moment in all forms of media and entertainment streams. GIGO…the call to guard our minds and seek truth!
Many thanks for a logical viewpoint, Jon.
Those life-forms that seek to control humanity understand technology, but they DO NOT UNDERSTAND nor can they access higher energetic frequencies. Their technological ‘expertise’ can only be successful when linked into the lower frequencies on which the human ‘personality’ and its body/vehicle operates. They are IMPOTENT on the higher frequencies that our higher aspects, the Real Us operates on. So, emphasising our focus on the lower personality aspects is their only route to what they see as success.
As David Icke keeps saying – ‘Remember who we are’ and what we are is infinite consciousness at our true level, only the human aspect is ‘under attack’.
Each person needs to read/. research if necessary ‘spiritual’ philosophy to recall who and humans are, Each time this is recalled, it increases the level of the overall human field, more and more out of the grasp of those who are as yet, undeveloped and in a great illusion.
Peace and Progress to All
Having examined the literature on brain interfaces, the message coming from the science is that extensive brain surface is required to the input/output system. Meaning that a very expensive operation on the head is required, removal of skull, and placement of artificial structure on the tissue covering the brain. In other words, very limited abilities. It’s impractical, even if technical issues can be sorted out. The invasiveness of the technology means it’s not practical.
Brain interface requires too much of brain surface, for connection, so it can’t really be done practically.
…And the point Jon makes, pushes the idea over the edge, into complete absurdity. That is, both ends of the proposed system are fake news.
Reblogged this on amnesiaclinic and commented:
The sheer arrogance of thinking this can be done so easily!
A really good point, and well put, Jon.
Well, most people will never question it. They think the Matrix is a real thing, along with Santa and the fairy god mother.
We can all go around programmed as Al Gore’s bad side.
All the criminals they could be sent to reconditioning centers for brain scans and govt reprogramming which is the general idea.
alpha zero’s work with chess demonstrates an excellent rebuttal to your argument. Alpha Zero was taught the rules of chess, then played against itself for 4 hours before getting to a point where it was arguably the strongest player in the world. an AI attacking other problems would figure out solutions regardless of earlier lies.
