The collapse of major media

The collapse of major media

by Jon Rappoport

December 11, 2017

As I indicated in a recent article, the B-team, or even the C-team, is now heading up the national evening news in America. These anchors’ faces and voices (Muir, Glor, and Holt) are not even faint reminders of the so-called Golden Age, when father figures like Cronkite and Reasoner fed official truth into the brains of viewers. The new C-team is vague gloss from a paint job on a used car. This is an ominous sign for the news bosses in the upstairs suites. They can’t find adequate hypnotists anymore.

What happened?

Many things—among them, the father figures left the fold. They decided to sell real estate or take corporate work in PR. They saw the handwriting on the wall: the networks were fostering a youth movement, seeking younger and prettier talent. Why? Because Madison Avenue was convinced the younger viewer demographic was the important one, in terms of consumer buying power. Therefore, on-air news faces had to be younger as well. This sounded right, but it overlooked one vital fact. The young news anchors couldn’t pull off the appropriate level of mind control. They were merely bland robots. Friendly, nice, literate to the point of being able read copy. (Lester Holt at NBC is a bit older, but he comes across as a corpse someone dug up at a cemetery for a role in a Frankenstein remake.)

There is another gross miscalculation. The commercials, between news segments, are overwhelmingly pharmaceutical. Those drugs aren’t intended for the youth demographic. They’re for the middle-aged and the seniors, who want to toxify themselves for the rest of their lives.

So the commercials are playing to the older crowd, while the faces of the news are supposedly attracting younger viewers. It’s a mess. The news execs and programmers really have no idea what they’re doing.

They’re basically hoping their game somehow lasts until they can retire.

There’s more.

Terrified by “visionary” Ted Turner, who started CNN as a 24/7 cable news outlet in 1980, NBC decided they had to spin off their own cable news channel. This move, on its own, splintered the unitary hypnotic effect of having one anchor deliver one version of the news to one audience. Suddenly, there were several hypnotists on stage, all talking at once. It was a disaster in the making.

Then you had the various financial news channels, and FOX, and the sports channels, and the weather channel, and Bloomberg, and C-SPAN, etc. Plus all the local news outlets.

This fragmentation began to erode the programmed mind of the viewer. If, hoping to retreat to an earlier time, he sought out one face and one voice and one great father figure on ANY of these channels, he came up empty. The archetype was gone.

In a pinch, a viewer on the political right might opt for Bill O’Reilly, and a viewer on the Globalist left might choose Charlie Rose. But they’re both out of the picture now.

Enter, from stage left, the goo-goo behemoth, the CIA- connected Facebook, which, amidst building a tower of likes for infantile posts, is trying to convince its adherents that it IS the Internet and a source of tailored news that is sufficient unto the day. Unanchored news. No single voice or face.

Big media, in all its forms, has lost the mind control war.

It has lost it from inside itself.

Into the vacuum have swept the million voices of independent media. I’ve written about that revolution at length, and won’t recap it here.

Instead, consider the Youth Phenomenon. You could peg it at the Beatles’ US invasion of 1964.

Why? Because that was the moment when children began to be entertained by other children. Seriously, deeply, religiously.

Add in the drugs, and other factors, and you had the groundswell of the 1960s.

Stay young forever. Never grow up. Adults are dull dolts.

These children eventually became parents, and their children became parents…and you have the whole generation-to-generation, societal, eternal-youth package. “I want to be young. I want to be happy forever.”

How do you sell these people the news?

You put a nice face on it.

And you lose the hypnosis.

You still have all the lies and cover-ups and diversions and omissions…but the trance element at the core grows weaker over time.

Like the snowfall from a great blizzard, the aftermath shows patches of snow disappearing, piece by piece.

This is happening, and the news titans can do nothing to stop it.

It’s a long-term trend, and it’s called good news.

Good news indeed Jon! One look at (and listen to) the Cavalcade of Clowns masquerading as newscasters is enough to make anyone with real functioning braincells double over in laughter… Your observation of young faces mixed with pharma ads for the older crowd is as illustrative of your central thesis as any I’ve come across anywhere. Bravo once again for a cogent and laser sharp analysis! Quintessential Jon Rappoport, *very* much appreciated sir 🙂

  2. Conny Lundberg says:

Excellent article, Jon, which puts the finger on the exact right spot!!!

  3. Greg C. says:

I miss Tom Brokaw. I would try to imitate his slightly sardonic expression combined with his forced deep intonation, his studied dramatic pauses. Lots of fun, a lot easier to imitate than, say, John Wayne.

  4. Newspapers, radio and tv stations have been gobbled by corporations to create monopoly coverage in cities and even states. The owners of these combines all seem buddy buddy and love to hire young (cheaper) talent. Those who oppose antitrust enforcement are reaping the result of their efforts. Owners also hate real controversy, which is why you end up with “he’s looking at me, Mom” news.

  5. honestliberty says:

Jon called it with this harassment horse hockey going on in the media. Here come the Trump accusations.
It’s a shame my parents don’t appreciate Jon’s work. I guess they enjoy the charade. What a pity..

And on another note, why does anyone care about what these people did in 1985? Really, thirty two years ago? You waited till now? I smell a rat

I t is so much more interesting to get your news from sites like Infowars.
You have different hosts, videos, the best guests, you also have the articles and the thousand comments below.

Plus, you will have tomorrow news and sometimes years ahead news. It is unbeatable. It makes the MSM look like cave man anchors.

I predict a crash of the old MSM much sooner than you think.

TRUMP SLAMS ‘DUMBEST MAN ON TELEVISION’ DON LEMON

Quebec, I sincerely believe you mean well, and yes, there are probably more morsels of truth in AJ’s moneymaker Infowars, however he is a fully invested in the divide and conquer strategy. Well intentioned folks such as yourself can’t separate the reality from the fiction and it looks our ability to have meaningful conversation.

I’m forever grateful for his work; it shook my young mind, shattered my illusions… But his methods are suspect. Much of his work is filled with half truth and he never touched on the Jews. That is a what I consider a red flag. There is extensive verifiable information and accounts, admitted by then, to what they’ve done and what they’re doing.

Anyway, i think you are better than that. That shit is poison. Graduate to Mark Passio (whatonEarthishappening.Com), school sucks podcast, tragedy and hope peace resolution podcast by Richard Grove. These are extremely useful sites debited to the truth and the individual. AJ is trying to make a buck going after the disaffected right who are desperately clinging to a fantasy that never existed and will never exist. The Glory days weren’t that glorious.

Will you please spend some time with Mark Passio presentations, must start at podcast one. I think you’ll like it. I’d wager that if you listened to his first 100 podcasts, a year from now your look back and understand why I’m so hard on you. You’d understand why I’m so adamant that most adults are truly children.

      • From Quebec says:

Are you kidding? Mark Passio is an anti-semite freak.

        I cannot stand that guy.

By the way, Alex Jones is putting all his money in All of his shows: Infowars, Prison Planet, Real News and The War room. He does not take a penny out of it. Plus, he his paying his staff with all this money that he gets from his powerful great products that are good for your health.

Jon Rappoport in a regular host on the show. Do you think that Jon would go on this show if Infowars was bad?

And, why do you hate Jews, when we all know that it is the Islamists that are bad dudes?
Jon is a Jew, what are you doing on this site if you hate them so much.?

You must be very miserable since Trump finally declared Jerusalem the capital of Israel.
I lke Israel and the Jews. I know many, and I can tell you that they are great people. The worst people in this world are the anti-semites and the Islamists,. I cannot stand them. and I never will.

For sure, there are a few bad Jews, so what? Like there is some bad Americans and Canadians etc, What do you expect? Perfection?

This is what real journalism looks like.
I want to make sure everyone reading this site and reading your posts is clear about the difference between your propaganda and real journalism.

Trump is more dangerous than you could ever believe. He’s going to make that Leach Obama look like a kindergartner

  9. INGAORAMA says:

Reblogged this on Ingaorama and commented:
People get “fed” with fabricated steam boiled fake news through the biggest mind controller of all time-the TV-while they consume what they are told are food but is just some fabricated stuff minced together and then “beamed” in the microwave oven… When people dose off after the “consuming” then they get the “desert”..that is mind control/mind overtaking input, it easy to do it when people have got into kind of hypnotize stage after the consuming of the fabricated mixture..

  10. Terry Adams says:

I bet most Americans don’t know that Cronkite was a HUGE globalist.. actually a award winning member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Having studied the murder of JFK (like most readers of this blog, no doubt) I have to wonder if, and if so, how much of a part he played in the coverup. The initial discovery of a German mauser rifle from the school book depository was shown to us via Walter Cronkite and other media types, yet a week or so later when it magically changed to an Italian Manlicher-Carcano there was not explanation given… Why not?

  11. Theus Isded says:

Yes, but if you consider that the first snake oil salesmen, the Christian pastors, ministers, preachers, priests, etc have splintered their little control ops into a staggering 40,000 plus denominations so they can tell their versions of the same stories you might get some idea of where news as we knew it will go. Painted pigs, all of them…..

  12. JB says:

The media has been “collapsing” ever since the Confederacy proclaimed the creation of the United States of America.

Jon’s weak spot has been, and ever will be, his State propagandized American history peddled in public education.
