Trump: the man vs. his ideas

In past articles, I’ve praised Trump and criticized him. Here I want to make a few remarks about his best effects and the ripples that have spread from his words—but not necessarily from his present and future actions.
Why do I make that distinction?
Because I’m far more interested in the millions of people who decided to support Trump than I am in Trump himself. Those millions will carry freight in the years to come, here in the US and in other countries. If they turn passive, the so-called populist movement will die on the vine.
Trump has raised the issue of Globalism as no other modern president has. Specifically, he’s spoken about the horrendous consequences of: shipping jobs overseas, throwing huge numbers of willing domestic workers on to unemployment lines; and failing to lay on tariffs when corporations who have gone overseas send their products back here for sale.
He’s pointed to Globalist trade treaties as the source of this calamity, and he has killed the TPP treaty.
More generally, he’s spoken about Globalism vs. Nationalism; i.e., solving problems at home vs. trying to incorporate America into an international framework of governance.
His words have helped stimulate, confirm, and support the Brexit decision in the UK, and the rise of pro-nationalism anti-EU movements in Europe.
Trump has attacked the prime source of fake news, major media, as no other president ever has. Time and time again, he has gone after these scurrilous creatures as liars and purveyors of false realities. In this effort, he has lent a considerable hand to the expansion of independent media.
From the inception of major media here in America and other countries, their news has functioned as the eyes, ears, mouths, and brains for the public. How can authentic change for the better occur as long as this preposterous proxy-condition persists?
Trump has planted seeds for a revolutionary shift in foreign policy, based on non-interference in the affairs of other nations. Regardless of how far he moves in the opposite direction (e.g., Syria, Russia), his initial position on non-interference acknowledged untold numbers of people in many countries who have been waiting to hear that message.
To say, because Trump abandoned that stance, his proclamation against Empire-building was wrong is a fool’s errand. In the same way, people have claimed that the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are meaningless because some of the Framers owned slaves.
Failing to distinguish between ideas and the people who espouse them is a sign of the lowest possible level of intelligence.
The mainstream press displays that level every day.
Trump has pointed out, over and over, that an open borders immigration policy is madness. The financial burden it imposes; the open invitation it offers to immigrants, to take advantage of free government services (never before the intent of any US immigration program); the seeding of communities with immigrants who have no intention of becoming part of American society; the indifference toward crimes and terrorist acts that result from non-vetting; these and other factors demand a change of approach.
For the so-called political Left, a sense of idealism implies there will never be a ceiling on immigration. It is unlimited and forever. Separate nations are a fiction. The world is One Nation. These sentiments are, in fact, Globalism’s wet dream, which by the way has nothing to do with kindness and sharing. It has to do with top-down control of civilization, from one end of the planet to the other.
Trump has built strong pillars with his words.
He has confirmed what untold numbers of people in many nations believe and want.
There is every danger that, if Trump fails to live up to what he has said, these people, many of them, will decide his words mean nothing. His ideas mean nothing.
Again, that is because they can’t distinguish between ideas and the individuals who espouse them. They have neither the capacity nor the desire. They’re trapped along a fault-line of their own cynicism; they’re looking for a reason to say destiny is doom.
This attitude has plagued humanity since the beginning. Those who championed freedom and the individual have fought against it.

Thank you Jon, that is right on. i have always said that It is NOT about Trump, its bigger than him, and that bigness you just articulated beautifully. Perhaps Trump is not an ego maniac like many claim, and does not want to be anyone’s hero.
He is just himself, unapologetically, which also is a great example to those who have been indoctrinated into collectivism to witness and emulate. The fact he is a strong person is so rare in our weakened state of society that this strength freaks many out and they respond with envy and want to destroy him, and others who are themselves.
It is not Trump’s responsibility to single handedly restore our Republic, he has handed the baton back to the people, where it belongs. it is up to the people to re establish freedom and responsibility. If they still refuse, they have no one to blame but themselves. Anyone who feels it is his responsibility, and not theirs, and is not willing to do the work does not deserve a Republic.
We all must pray and send blessings to these brave people all around the world who are risking their lives and then vow to do our part. This is the true meaning of unity.
I agree with you, Terri, and recently renewed my personal commitment to do everything I can to help President Trump quickly restore sanity to today’s deeply troubled society. The UN and the UNAS (united national academies of sciences) are his most formidable opponents.

Ideas are worth nothing if not followed by action, and trumpy has shown there’s a grand canyon between the two, so he’s completely useless.

For sure, Ideas should be separated from some of the people who might carry those ideas around. Many people, when looking for an excuse to ignore some ideas when they just want to kick up their heels and enjoy themselves. will point at some that treasure those ideas and ideals, so that those who want to kick up their heels can feel better about doing so.
But there is a lesson in Trump that we do not want to miss. How did so many after over200 years of consistent and persistent nonsense and lies and deceit, ever believe that someone could against the grain and be sincere about it? Did not Trump know about JFK? of course he knew! so why did he go against the grain? Because his “bosses” told him, Don, we have an acting job for you and you played your part well on NBC so we though you might like the part we have for you in a bigger production reality show. Don say OK, you have my attention. What part do you have in mind? Glad you asked, Don! We want you to pretend to hates us and stand against everything we have been doing for 2000, I mean 200, years. But you won’t really mean it. you play the part for 6 or 8 months and then do what everyone else has done over the last 200 years.

Well, that is the problem, isn’t it? How do we overcome? Some would rather face wild lions in an arena than to imagine there might be alternative is just too horribly disgusting to even mention it by name. That that alternative is all any of you got left. But we want to do things our way. That another way might be the only and conflict with our desire to do what we want, rather than what might be in long term survival of our species and planet. Getting sexually high is far more important than careful self regulation of our breeding habits and attention to children as if our lives depended on it, but they do depend on it.

Truth1 could be right. And he could be wrong. What if he is right? And what if wrong?
I will try to answer that. both scenarios.
If right: We are in deep deep trouble. the Elite are planning kill most of us off. and the time is long past doing anything now unless you consider the possibility of a creator. that’s another thing, altogether.
IF wrong: You still got lots to worry about. the pattern for at least since 1066 AD (Battle of Hastings, William the Conqueror) has been a pattern of growing and assimilating of Collectivism, to the point where the whole world has become completely controlled by a group of people no one can even identify for sure, due to so many layers of bureaucracy underneath them that no one believed they even exist, even tough the pattern is 1000 years old if not a good deal older. My own personal opinion is that it started in Babylon and progress wonderfully with Rome. And from Rome to now.
The result? the mad men wipe out most of the world, due to errant thoughts entering into the minds of those with power. Personally, I option 1, That creator idea! Trump has always been a good and decent man. That is very rare for billionaires. He always cared for the little man. All the people who worked for him, only have nice things to say about him. He helped so many people. And he likes his kids and they seem to like him also.

For your information, I am a 72 years old woman, I have seen a lot, and probably read all the history books available in this world. So, I think I know very well what is going on in this world.

Truth1: Liberals flatter themselves when they say that Trump is the Enemy of the People. As if people in general stand for everything good and right and true. The same holds for the non-thinking jingoists – who just want prosperity first, which they think they can use to buy everything else they need. “Attention to children as if our lives depended on it.” Well, probably not, but when the parent is dying in a hospital, and the only thing that brings their children to the bedside is some vague sense of duty, they will see it in their eyes and it will strike home – how meaningless it all was, and it didn’t have to be that way. Sometimes only impending death is capable of evoking any sense of goodness, what ought to be, the Tao, righteousness, but it will be mixed with the bitterness of regret. Funerals are big business now because by “paying our respects” the regret is assuaged. Perhaps voting for Trump was also a way of self-justification. Elections are in a way like funerals, where we pay our respects to the things that matter, and then get back to practical life. Trump seemed to stand up for righteousness, to some degree, and be willing to attack mendacity, at least in 30-second soundbites and tweets. Maybe that’s enough to satisfy the short-attention voters. They hired someone to take care of it, and if he doesn’t, well, someone else will. But they are too busy even to put their f*ing phone away and think about their kids for 5 minutes.
Greg, that pretty damn good comment, all in all. I want to comment on the bedside vigil of a dying parent. It was a good illustration. But I got something else as well. Most have lots of regret when its time to check out. And the reasons are many. Most did a lousy job with their lives. They neglected their kids and did not give enough affection so that the bond between them is weak at best. If the parents were selfish, there may be very little bond.
Most don’t think of their lived in advance and consider what they might do so that they do not have regrets when its time to go. When we finally come to the time to go, we never really considered that it would happen. But it never fails to happen. and there is nothing you can do once you are on your death bed. I saw my father a year ago, 1 day from death. You could feel his panic, his regret, that he had been stupid and threw his whole life away. and he knew it was too late now. He waited too long to do anything. And now it was time to go.
the other problem is that our society does not enable families to care for the old in their won homes or homes of their children. And some would rather not have their parents at home. Some parents were never nice people. there’s a lot in that mix. but too often, when we get to our death bed, we realize how stupid we have been our whole lives and it is a bitter realization.
My warning to all is this. Don’t leave it to the last minute. you won’t like it! Do something while it matters. I often warned my father that he would end up as he did. Nope! not him. I wonder about all the things that might have been in his head in that last day. I am sure he knew it was that time. Don’t wait, people. Its too late then. Now is the time to act! Do it!

I could not disagree more with the premise that a leader can separate her/himself from her/his ideas, promoting them to gain notoriety or votes, then discarding them when they no longer fit her/his needs to keep, or gain more, power over those who bought into the ideas. A real leader is her/his ideas; lives, rules and dies (if need be) by them. Once having made them public, and been popularly accepted based on those ideas, he/she is the sum total of those ideas to the people being represented. If there is a change of mind, a separation, then that leader becomes utterly illegitimate. This is what more and more people feel about Trump, even if they can’t put their finger on why they feel that way. He’s a hypocrite, turn-coat and blatant opportunist riding his personal wave of power into whatever, come hell or high water, the promises and the nation be damned.

Sha’Tara, I have no problem with what you say about Trump. but I hope you realize that it can and should be said about all who came before him, too. He is no better or worse than any of the others before him. Most people only fault those of the party opposed to their party of choice. Now that is silly. between Conservatives and the left liberals, I prefer (barely) the conservatives.
All politicians are liars and actors. If you want truth, you have to take that narrow cramped road that is hear to walk on and pursue the truth alone because most everyone else is on that broad spacious road to destruction and/or lies. The tough road lonely road. You’ll hardly meet a soul on it. that is the cost of truth that I gladly bear and travel. I would not have it any other way.

And, as once an activist and “leader” of environmental/political movements, I learned the lesson you write here: the road of truth is, of necessity, walked alone. There is no organized resistance to the Globalist/ Communist movement. No group can you join to stand up for national independence and White/black security/prosperity. You/we stand alone. There is two things going on here…
First: to revitalize the spirit of the voting population, which has been flagging since the assassination of JFK. In a sense the death of someone so honored, so thoroughly inspiring, broke the heart and damaged deeply the soul of the American voter. This was modern era, not a hundred years ago. This was the brave new world, of the stars and everything wonderful. Kennedy was the greatest wake-up call. He brought so much to the table, people who lived in households that had been filled with prejudice, questioned it and stood up against their own family. The ideas of war and poverty, inhumanity; age-old problems that haunted the human soul for thousands upon thousands of years, became tangible through Kennedy. Became finally available right there in front of everyone. These problems could be easily solved. The real birthing of NGO’s and their influence on great power. And since that time have become another corruption.
The real idea of space, going to the moon and beyond was great in the public mind, and actually possible…it wasn’t such a great problem. Kennedy seemed to be able to show that; express that; he was beautiful,; he was classic and godlike. And people saw that, and understand, that he was being real, he was just standing up. and they could do that too. And be that way. People recognized how genuine that was, and that was a great inspiration which really has left a lasting effect, there is still a spark there if you look. That’s why so many still talk about him today.
His cruel death, introduced a new beast; a darkness took hold from the black magicians, they knew exactly what they were doing. This was not just the assassination of a president. This was the killing of a messiah again.
The greater potion of this was the fight for the American mind. Killing what Kennedy had planted there. You have to remember that there was an innocence still quite alive, then. A purity of sorts. We were not so jaded, and the subliminal was not so obvious s it is today. Now we can look and see how much power they actually wield.
From that point on in 63, a long line of successors from Lyndon Baines to finally Donald Trump. Has been manipulated, towards the globalist end. Each has had an agenda to fulfill, while still carrying on the illusion for a public, that has known it is being told sweet lies, but like a lover; still wants to hear them even though they are not true. Wakey wakey time.

With Trump’s inauguration speech, he gave the power back to the people. Never before have we heard those words from a President. Now it is time for us to work and collaborate together to assist Trump in draining the swamp. That is the bottom line. We have to get more involved, understand our Constitution and how to apply it to get rid of the corruption and insanity that is currently in place. Section 3 and 4 of the 14th Amendment provide remedy to the People, to begin this process.
