The Spiritually Dead gatekeepers of mainstream news
by Jon Rappoport
December 9, 2016
A new series of realities is on the way.
Centralized information-reality is on the way out.
It’s going to be thrills and chills.
Major newspapers are dying. The internet is crushing them. And yet, if the NY Times and the Washington Post and the LA Times wanted to resuscitate themselves, they could.
I’m not talking about one-day headlines. I’m talking about investigations that pound and pound on issues of corruption day after day, month after month.
For example, these issues:
* The Federal Reserve/a clandestine private corporation.
* Medically caused death.
* Toxic vaccines.
* Trillions of dollars of missing US government money.
* The power of the Trilateral Commission over US government policy.
* The covert implementation of the UN agenda of destruction in US communities.
And a hundred more issues.
Expose these down to the core, and people would buy newspapers off the rack like they buy coffee and beer and video games and cell phones and gasoline and underwear and toilet paper and lipstick and fast food. The Times would have to schedule extra press runs just to keep up with the demand. Its financial bottom line would soon look like Christmas.
But the great esteemed centers of American journalism are part of the Matrix. They are in the business of falsehood, omission, diversion, and obfuscation. They live by those hallmarks.
You could talk to the publisher of the New York Times and present him with an ironclad business plan for pulling his paper out of its deep financial trouble, based on covering true stories like those above, and you would find no joy, because he would rather go down with the ship than go against the Matrix.
The Times and other hoary media outlets live by the rule of limited hangout. In intelligence parlance, that means admitting a small piece of the truth in order to hide the rest.
“We’ll show you a tree in the forest, but not the whole forest.”
I know how it works, because as a reporter I’ve been there. I’ve approached editors of various media outlets with stories that crack the Matrix trance, and I’ve had those stories tossed back at me.
“We’re just not interested,” they say. “This isn’t our kind of piece.” Or: “Well, we already covered that.” But they didn’t cover it. They did a limited hangout on it. They ran a story that exposed one tiny corner of a whole bloody mess.
I fully understand that media outlets black out stories that would endanger their own advertising dollars. But that’s just the beginning of the true reason the major newspapers and television networks decline to run pieces that would once again make them gigantically successful.
To understand the true reason, you need to grasp something about the Matrix itself. It is a reality that maintains its power because it can engineer SILENCE. It can create EMPTY SPACE. Not only can it invent pictures that are false, not only can it pander to certain emotional links in people’s shrunken universes, it can make Swiss Cheese appear as if it has no holes in it. This is an art.
To see what the Matrix is and how it operates, you need imagination. You need to use that imagination to understand what COULD BE but ISN’T. You need to be able to project how the truth could actually storm the bastions of planned ignorance and impel people to perceive startling new realities beyond the dross of what they have now.
I say this—partially as a boast and partially as simple fact—if I were the managing editor of the New York Times and I was given the corner office and free rein, I would have that paper back in the black in a year. I would have it roaring on all cylinders. I would have people fighting each other in the streets to grab the last copy off the newsstands. Every day. Journalism schools all over the country would close down in shame. Because we would be running stories that would crack the whole rotting edifice of cartel-control along many fronts, and we would be filling up a PLANNED VACUUM with something super-real.
But I gave up on that fantasy 20 years ago. Instead, I saw a day when these giants would wither like old men on their back porches staring out at the rain. And that day is here. It has come.
They gave up their right to cover the news. And now they’re paying.

—It may have occurred to you by now that one of my main targets is: people dedicated to cynicism, despair, passivity, and self-imposed victimhood. They clog forward progress. They hold up the train. They drag down the future. They sit in their own puddles. They opt for abstract spectatorship, hoping for the occasional stimulation of adrenaline to relieve a permanent state of paralyzing boredom.
I don’t write for those people. I never will.
I write for the people who can envision WHAT COULD BE and will at least consider making their stand there.
Like many other people, I know what cynicism, despair, and passivity are. I’ve visited that land. I’ve checked into those motels. But in the end, they’re a joke. You know why? Because: what do they get you? They get you nothing. Zero.
At best, they get you the temporary hope that someone else will rescue you and drag you from the depths.
One thing that’s going to happen as independent news takes over from the old goofs: there will be information, more information about workable solutions to vital problems. People need to be ready for that.
They need to be ready for answers that are shocking because they ARE answers.
It’ll seem surreal. Workable answers? What??
Yes.
People will need to adjust their minds.
The business of news outlets without solutions will be eclipsed.
If you think this is impossible, then become a citizen journalist, and make it possible.
No one of good will and intelligence needs to be on the outside looking in.

I stopped reading newspapers about 25 years ago. Prior to that, they would at least allow letters from readers that spoke the truth on any given subject. At some point, they stopped even allowing that, and that is when I said “bye bye” to them.
We can begin here: Who Killed President Kennedy? The official documents are out there. Locked in a box, like Schrodinger’s Cat. We don’t know who has the key. We’re not sure if the box still exists, or has been destroyed. We’re not sure if the documents still exist, or have been destroyed. We’re not sure if the official documents contain the truth or not. The truth is “out there”. The truth is not out there.
When the government, and corporations can deliberately hide the facts, truth disappears into the shadows. Everything and anything can masquerade as the truth. The facts have been deliberately, ‘legally’ hidden on many issues that should be public. The ‘news’ agencies simply roll over and feign ignorance – actually, they show ignorance, ignoring the fact that they don’t have the facts. Instead they jump from theory to theory until everything becomes noise (pronounced news). Besides, noise sells. Facts are boring…. Nobody will pay for the truth, reporters pay in jail time.
The Truth is out in plain view. Four frames captured on Zapruder’s camera tell a no bull story of handguns and how a muzzle emits smoke. Look and see for yourself Frames 313,314,315,316 and 317 give you a real proof of the source of a blast of white muzzle smoke. I did not see a single word about this white smoke in any of the rambling lunacy of the Warren commission, WHY? Squeamish about the holder of the gun? Bull. Smoke comes from a barrel. The smoke seen is concentrated and measurable with those four frames so an expert can estimate size and load of a shot fired. An expert can tell the angle and range of that muzzle, was it in contact with the skull or not… All from those four frames. It was never done, Why it was not pursued will tell a whole other story of power and control. The final head shot that killed President Kennedy will become a obvious reality for any force willing to forensically investigate those four frames alone. White smoke comes from a gun muzzle. The forces the put the muzzle on Kennedy’s head, compelled the gunman’s are vast and wide reaching all down the corridors of time. They will FAIL! The hopes of it not being the obvious assailant will not change the reality of the telltale smoke and it’s damming tale. The sad path into darkness all start from that one single shot through through her husbands head. America failed to engage and prosecute any of the REAL actors and gunmen and women of the day and will never ever get anywhere until they do so COMPLETELY! After that a real and precise investigation into Apollo HAS to be done. If you manage to succeed in those monumental lies the remainder will come easy and fast to the keepers of the truth working the problems America is currently mired.
You make a pretty lofty assumption here that people will take a break from shopping for cell phones and new apps and coffee and underwear…and pay attention to actual, uncomfortable, stark truth. The internet has destroyed journalism, I agree. It has also fostered a 140-character attention span. Let’s not even talk about “fake News,” where otherwise intelligent people re-post articles that are so obviously false…to the point of being almost nonsensical…yet, they promote this junk because it serves a narrative. Still, it’s a good piece and I agree there is news not being investigated and reported. I’m not exactly cynical but I’ve lost some hope, that’s for sure.
*chuckles*
I’ve been a fringe dweller all my life.
Perhaps I’m one of many.
How do all the fringe dwellers connect and help create a new reality, without reincarnating the very thing we wish to transform?
Jon, I’ve been following your writings for the past four or five years (had to look in my archives for the date that I acquired Exit From the Matrix, it was early 2013) and though I realize you’ve been doing your inimitable thing as NMFN for a lot longer than that, I have to say your latest work is also among your very best imho.
Perhaps it’s the fact of our witnessing the collective demise of the MSM that has brought so much into clearer focus than ever before. All I know is that I read every one of your blog posts and find myself marveling at the clarity, the wit, and the relentless laser-like focus you bring to bear each and every time on what genuinely matters. And all in a way that empowers us, your readers, as no one else I am aware of seems able to do.
To wit, the last lines of this post are like a clarion call to the rest of us: “The business of news outlets without solutions will be eclipsed. If you think this is impossible, then become a citizen journalist, and make it possible. No one of good will and intelligence needs to be on the outside looking in.”
Wow, it’s next to impossible for me to pretend NOT to be moved to take action beyond my occasional comments in praise of your work. Though it is certainly true that I’m not Rappaport (to coin a phrase, ha) and have no illusions or delusions along those lines, I feel driven to at least make a contribution to the cause here. Frankly, I am perfectly willing to do so under the pen name “Anonymous” but wouldn’t ya know it, that one is already taken!

As you wrote, that day is indeed here. It has come. And in the words of a Hopi Elder “We are the ones we have been waiting for”
Jon’s insights & outsights are truly salve for the soul and pure energy for the spirit. Am also a long time reader and agree with your comments also.
YOUR Hopi elder quote made the hair on the back of my neck stand along with an adrenalin rush. Thanks for sharing that.
this is a good artical,an the replies are good too.can you do a artical some time about the government may try to stop free speech on the internet,, “fake news” or something .
I realised you picked the “gentle” options deliberately here, Jon.
The likelihood of the NYT or WP poking at the Federal Reserve “meaningfully” is zero under any circumstances. However, I need to stress that it is a “decoy” because the real issue is fake, unbacked money that is “regulated” by fake, unbacked money. That’s [worthless] modern currency for you.
That said, what is gold worth if no one “believed” in its value?
Best
OT
At that point you become totally brain dead.
Hardly so….
But if, by some strange chance, people lost faith in gold, in “value”, those that control would be FINISHED.
Is that what you meant, JJ?
Jon, you deserve major credit for using your enormous talents to expose the spiritually and intellectually dead gatekeepers of consensus news and scientific information.
John Glenn, the first astronaut to orbit Earth died yesterday at age 95
https://thehornnews.com/john-glenn-first-american-orbit-earth-dies/
John was spiritually awake and said, “We are placed here with certain talents and capabilities. It is up to each of us to use those talents and capabilities as best you can,” Glenn said on April 9, 1959. “If you do that, I think there is a power greater than any of us that will place the opportunities in our way, and if we use our talents properly, we will be living the kind of life we should live.”
Talents and capabilities can be developed, so I would change Glenn’s statement to … “We find ourselves as individuals wherever we are, who knows how, with our powerful imagination, and if we use it, we will discover our greatest abilities and powers far beyond what any of our teachers could have imagined as our potential, and do things that no one else would ever venture to say that we ought to do.”
It all boils down to time, coverage and accessibility. Does the average person really have the time to investigate the “news” they receive on a daily basis? Who today really cares about the truth and real news in America 2016?
What is the average news cycle today and who controls this cycle. The grim reality is that the vast majority of people just don’t care about any kind of news, they willingly put blinders on.
The main reason the majority of people don’t care is? Well, when I talk to people and try to tell them something important which just took place in the world, they either look at me with a blank stare or more often than not tell me, “I don’t follow the news, it is too depressing.”
I do not know how to shut off the willful ignorance “faucet” in society today. I guess it is going to come down to maybe the economy. If this dollar ever becomes fully destroyed and one day people wake up and see the money they saved for their whole life has now become worthless, maybe that shock will finally give them the incentive to get involved. Maybe that personal theft which they can see right before their own eyes will shake them. Heck, the dollar has already lost most of its value but the personal shock of maybe their savings and retirement account being wiped out in a flash might just finally awaken the masses.
Nobody in this country cares about what is happening at the borders, nobody cares about the selective outrage against the police in this country, nobody cares about abortion on demand, nobody cares about the homeless people, nobody cares about the destruction of the dollar, nobody cares about the federal debt or personal credit card debt, nobody cares about the divorce rate, nobody cares about the ghettos and the inner cities problems, nobody cares about the drug abuse (illegal/prescription), nobody cares about the massive EPA regulations shutting down American business/jobs, nobody cares about the dismantling of the US military, nobody cares about the surveillance state, nobody cares about massive government spending, nobody cares about radical Islam, nobody cares about the condition of Europe/Middle East, nobody cares about the South China Sea, nobody cares about what is in the food they eat and the medicine they take, nobody cares about vaccinations, nobody cares about the destruction of the family unit, nobody cares about the US Constitution, nobody cares about massive left wing indoctrination within the public school system, nobody cares about evil in the world. Well some people care but it is not enough people. It all boils down to enough people caring, not just some. Nobody cares about truth, didn’t you hear truth is now relative?
A society is based on its virtue. The vast majority of people no longer have integrity. Evil is now relative and in a bunch of cases evil is embraced. Until people wake up and have the courage to challenge their conscience, nothing will get done.
Selective outrage, a gift courtesy of the current president and his sycophantic fellow “progressives.” A society now based on becoming outraged by things that don’t amount to “a hill of beans” while ignoring things that are important and really do matter. I think we as individual human beings tend to exhibit the same type of selective outrage within our own lives.
Selective outrage and willful ignorance, such a lethal combination which is taking down western civilization as we speak.
“the beginning of wisdom is to call things by their right names”
you are off to a rousing start, john.

The number of votes that were cast for Bernie Sanders challenges your concept that nobody cares about all these issues. And who knows how many actually were cast in comparison to how many were counted? As well, the number cast for Donald Trump would also bring that into question. People ARE waking up, and more and more as time goes on. Jon Rappaport hasn’t given up and neither shall I.
If USSR troops captured Japan’s atomic bomb plant at Konan, Korea in the waning days of WWII, then Stalin perhaps had the world’s only remaining atomic bombs when negotiating to unite nations on 24 OCT 1945.
Guilt-ridden western scientists – who had killed hundreds of thousands of civilians with atomic bombs at Hiroshima and Nagasaki – thus bought Stalin’s slogan, “Better Red than Dead!”
Of course you are correct. I asked the Seattle Times to investigate the state’s department of revenue denying property tax exemptions to 100% disabled veterans (service related), enacted by the legislature to ease the burden on low income seniors, the department of revenue created a rule that denied that benefit. Newspapers are not interested in facts that reveal that bureaucracy runs counter to the law….they want you to believe the government is the ULTIMATE authority and therefore infallible. tsk tsk
One of your best Jon. Passing it on to others (after editing out all the bad stuf :-)))
Mainstream media dug their hole long ago. Citizen investigators and reporters are just piling on the soil. MSM’s “fake news” claims are their last gasps.
Be advised and be aware.

Jon, you put your finger right on it. When one cuts through all of the details concerning the abominable state of the U.S. Major Media’s, one thing remains outstanding,–the people reporting for those organizations are “spiritually dead.” They know quite well that 75 percent of the stuff they are saying and the way they report are either outright lies or lies by omission.
Why can’t the alternative media, like you Jon, Inforwars, Breitbart, Drudge and many other websites, plus the best radio show host, get together and start a brand new television news and a new daily newspaper?
Why not?
I’m sure it could be done under a Trump Presidency.
Would take enormous amounts of antacids for ANY of the MSMs to even approach serving up fare as you do Jon.
Thanks again, from NM.

Thanks for your continuing work! Through reading the comments on your updates and articles, I can surely rest and work assured there are so many other real people in this crrrrazzzy whirly world. ironically Funny that I see more Real when I hop on the .net than I do when I hop on a trail or a train, but it makes for good story foh shoouh! (that was for sure with an accent;) Each moment of every day and dreaming night I Live my Life into Being, holding a space in meditative mind for Creating the Worlde I Love (and I Love placing e’s where they may please and quite possibly could have previously existed of Olde when the wee folk played Joyfully in fine Fun full of fae-rie laughter ringing through forests to coves and inlets where sirens echo the glee gaiety, jollity and merriment. Ok, maybe just merriment, but when the wee folk insist with a gentle joyous nudge, the rhymes follow through in paroemion prose of drizzly drooly dew and how d’ ye do)…
Make your world Grrr8! the 8 is for infiniti sideways (listen to Children for their knowledge is Grrr8 and must be nurtured as well as nourished, protected).
The title of this blog post is interesting…specifically, the ‘spiritually dead’ reference.
The same could be said for the gatekeepers of the worlds’ religions.
