Did the CIA give the NSA documents to Ed Snowden?

Current press reports focus on PRISM, the NSA’s relationships with the biggest tech companies in the world, and the spilled leaks of Ed Snowden.
I’ve already laid out serious questions about Snowden’s work history and whether he’s told the truth about it.
Is it likely he could have accessed and snatched thousands of highly classified NSA documents?
“Let’s see. Who’s coming to work for us here at NSA today? Oh, new whiz kid. Ed Snowden. Outside contractor. He’s not really a full-time employee of the NSA. Twenty-nine years old. No high school diploma. Has a GED. He worked for the CIA and quit. Hmm. Why did he quit? Oh, never mind, who cares? No problem.
“Tell you what. Let’s give this kid access to our most sensitive data. Sure. Why not? Everything. That stuff we keep behind 986 walls? Where you have to pledge the life of your first-born against the possibility you’ll go rogue? Let Snowden see it all. Sure. What the hell. I’m feeling charitable. He seems like a nice kid.”
Here is a more likely scenario.
Snowden never saw any of those thousands of documents on an NSA computer. Never happened.
Instead, he was either used or volunteered as a CIA operative to carry the endless turf war between CIA and NSA a new step forward. People at the CIA WERE able to access those NSA documents and they gave the documents to Snowden and he ran with them.
This was a covert op launched by the CIA against a chief rival, the NSA. NSA, the agency that’s far bigger than the CIA. NSA, the agency that’s been taking over intelligence gathering, that considers itself superior to everybody else in the intelligence field.
The CIA, of course, couldn’t be seen as the NSA leaker. They needed a guy. They needed a guy who could appear to be FROM the NSA, to make things look worse for the NSA and shield the CIA.
They had Ed Snowden. He had worked for the CIA in Geneva, in a high-level position, overseeing computer-systems security. People would later assume he had the wherewithal to get into NSA files and steal documents all by himself.
Somewhere in his CIA past, Ed meets a fellow CIA guy who sits down with him and says, “You know, Ed, things have gone too damn far. The NSA is spying on everybody all the time. I can show you proof. They’ve gone beyond the point of trying to catch terrorists. They’re doing something else. They’re expanding a Surveillance State, which can only lead to one thing: the destruction of America, what America stands for, what you and I know America is supposed to be. The NSA isn’t like us, Ed. We go after terrorists for real. That’s it. Whereas NSA goes after everybody. We have to stop it. We need a guy…and there are those of us who think you might be that guy…”
During the course of this one disingenuous conversation, the CIA is killing 37 innocent civilians all over the world with drones, but that’s beside the point. Ahem.
Ed says, “Tell me more. I’m intrigued.”
He buys in.
And what his CIA handler said, in his completely cynical self-serving way, is true. The Surveillance State isn’t about catching terrorists.
At a quite insane level, it’s about a partial science trying to become a complete science. It’s about the vision of systems engineers:
To be able to predict and control the actions of any and every human.
Can enough useful information on Human Being X be compiled, collated, and analyzed, quickly, that would enable overseers to know what Human X is going to do—and to redirect his next action?
His next action and future actions?
To put it another way, minds who are enraptured by the Matrix want to make that Matrix even tighter and more nearly perfect.
They want to play 100-dimensional chess with most difficult piece on the board as the main target: the human. They want to see whether they can operate that piece and work it and predict it and control it and win the game.
Winning the game means reducing 100-dimensional chess to a closed system.
This is what the engineers of the Surveillance State are trying to do with the global population.
Why?
Because they think they can.
Because they work for men who want to own all life.
Because they view individual freedom as a highly convincing illusion they want to invalidate and smash.
I’m reminded of a 1982 story I did for LA Weekly. I interviewed Bill Perry, who had just quit his job as head of PR for Lawrence Livermore Labs, where they do research on building better nuclear weapons.
Bill cited, as one of his defining moments, a conversations he had with a physicist there who was complaining that the Lab needed more funding.
Bill said, “Look, we can already blow up the world a dozen times. What else do you need?”
The physicist looked up from his desk and said, “You don’t understand. This is a math problem, a physics problem.”
That’s the mindset. It’s all about making a better system. Who cares about collateral human damage?
When these scientists see freedom, they shrink away from it. It disturbs them. It reminds them they aren’t free. It reminds them they don’t know what freedom is.
You can even see this in some of more astounding press comments about Ed Snowden. Yes, it was all right that he exposed NSA but…he should have stayed in America and faced the music.
What?!?
A mind-boggling assessment to say the least.
However, it’s really based on a perception, true or false, that Snowden is currently running around free, uncontrolled.
And that he has no right to be, because nobody does, outside the range and reach of government.
Freedom is the wild card. “Order must take its place.” That’s what the Surveillance State is all about.
“We’ve got these biological machines called humans running around out there and it’s crazy. They’re possibly in possession of something called FREEDOM which is too horrible to contemplate, because I, an obsessive problem solver, long ago sacrificed MY OWN FREEDOM on the altar of…I’ve forgotten. Anyway, wait a minute, these biological machines don’t really have freedom, they’re running on faulty programs….YES, THAT’S IT, and the programs have to be changed, ONCE AND FOR ALL!! Yes, that feels better. There is no such thing as freedom.”
“Yes, that’s it. No one is free, it’s all a delusion. There are only good and bad programs, and these billions of human machines are running on bad programs…so we need one central program, one CENTRAL PROGRAM for everybody, and then order will prevail and coordination will prevail, and peace will prevail.”
“In order to develop such a program, we need Total Surveillance. We need to observe all these biological machines in their crazy lives, 24/7, wherever they go, whatever they do….and then we can collate that information and analyze it and come up with a solution. Algorithms. A better program. An all-encompassing program. Then we can insert it into the behavior of every human.”
The Surveillance State is based on a psychology and a philosophy that has this view of life and human beings.
That’s what we’re dealing with. Nothing less.
Mass mind control. Operant conditioning. Coercion.
In Orwell’s 1984, that’s what “Big Brother is watching you” was all about. The Surveillance State wasn’t merely curious. It wasn’t merely trying to stamp out terrorists. It was part and parcel of control.

Have thought of a couple of issues with Ed’s story myself, I’ll
give you two.
1. This giant system that is connected to all computers does
not flag someone getting on a flight to China, which the FBI
( MSM reported today) was looking for him the days
before his story came out. Wouldn’t they know he got on a
international flight to China?
2. Whenever someone with information that can bring down
the system or open people’s eyes to the game come about,
they’re dealt with like Barry Seal..

I don’t know, I’m sure Snowden would have figured out whether he was being used, since he hasn’t spoken about being handed this information…
Yea, and Bradley Manning was just a private. Yet he had all that access to deep military secrets as well.
I’m not convinced that Jon isn’t a bit far out in postulation. Not that there isn’t this possibility – but that there are a myriad of possibilities.
One alternate possibility is that it is decided from on high to make these revelations now, get it over with and “move on” – tomorrow it will be yesterdays news, nothing will have been done about it, and it is now “just the way it is”.

Snowden seems bright enough that he’s probably just a tool in on the games being played out to keep the sheep distracted.
If he’s not just a tool and he thinks that the sheep care about intrusions on their privacy, then he must have just landed on the planet.
Anyone who is surprised by these supposed revelations has clearly had their head too far up the MSM’s a**.
The average american’s only concern is that they are not in on the take in one way or the other.
For the average individual it’s all about ME, MY, MINE and nothing else.
When a typical Facebook addict hears this sort of story, their main concern is what to post on their wall so they get the most likes.
Their main goal is finding ways to get the attention of others, not invasion of their privacy.
Apparently Mr Rappaport has no clue what “system administrator” work is all about. This is the work that must allow free access to all computers and its contest under supervision by default. This is why any speculations that do not consider this are superfluous.Hope,Mr Rappaport admits his mistake and apologizes to his readers.
It is quite plausible that Edward Snowden was given access to the levels of information he has exposed. As a senior software engineer I have seen many instances of security complacency in organizations you would think better of it.
The government is also extremely bureaucratic making it ripe for such cracks in its claimed defenses; the intelligence agencies are no exception. For example, it was known for years in the technical community that the FBI was woefully behind in its own infrastructure making it quite porous to both internal and external breaches.
As far as Edward Snowden’s background is concerned, he was not working for either agency because he was lacking in intelligence. Such organizations often hire based upon the innate skills of a candidate. If Snowden was a computer “idiot savant” or something similar he would have had the skills to be hired by an intelligence agency.
It is nice to speculate that people such as Snowden would have been assisted in his current exposure of NSA documents. However, he could have just as easily done it by himself given his capabilities and the bureaucracy he was dealing with.
In the IT profession we have an axiom; “low tech can always beat hi tech” and just being able to walk away with the documents is about as low tech as it gets.
One shouldn’t believe that because the government has such massive amounts of technology that they are impervious to intelligent thinking people. They are not… They are the government… 🙂
I think Jon has hit the nail on the head here. This news has gone too big, too fast, and too mainstream, to be just a “lone nut,” as they say in the JFK industry. Snowden may be a patsy or a disinfo genius, but either way, he represents “someone” who wants the NSA disgraced, at least momentarily. Infighting between NSA and CIA sounds like a plausible scenario, or else its another military diversion op to take attention away from the Bradley Manning trial? My main feeling is that anything black op is, at root, coming from the Pentagram. Anyways, worth thinking about.

One time in 2006, a former CIA man attended a Barnes Review Conference in Washington DC. While there he met and talked with Michael Piper. He told Piper that he had a lot of stuff to talk to him about and that he would be in touch. Later on he left to go home. He lived in Florida. On his way home, he ran into a bridge embankment in a one car accident and he was killed. This story was told by Piper on a radio show several years ago.

It makes for an interesting story, if a little hard to believe. But if it’s true, then the real, much bigger, problem is not Snowden the illegal use of the Patriot Act, but this war that the U.S. Intelligence agencies have with themselves. If this war really exists, why would we even care about Chinese hackers when our own people can and are inflicting more damage?
I don’t think you understand what a system administer does and how much power he has over the entire servers and network. The comments in this article show this ignorance. Forget about the messenger, that’s only a distraction. Focus on the information and how NSA reacted to it being exposed. Start thinking of how you will now have to think about what you write in a blog or e-mail and what this PRISM has done to our free internet.

Yes, this sounds a real down to earth plausible explanation. A gang style security services’ war is able to give way to such an event. Political powergames could be another one. The cake tastes better when you it it in the open with friends rather than in the opposition, alone, at least for pride hungry people.
But the timing with a possible ME war on the offing in my opinion prevails as this Snowden disclosure is giving the opportunity for the EU’s NWO homefront to disengage from the enlisted assailants, USA & Israel. The Bullderberg summit must have centered on the afterward of that prospected war and its economical & political consequences.
Israel has long said it would go for it alone in Iran but it won’t without the US giving some kind of green light and Syria is the perfect footboard for the US to give this green light in a roundabout way. Time will tell !!

If this were a CIA operation they would convince Snowden that he’d be protected. Then they might protect him – or they might sacrifice him. “They” who know everything have to know where the guy is “hiding.”
It is designed to weaken Obama and distract him, so that he will be forced to go along with Israel’s intentions to use American forces to attack Lebanon, Hezbollah and Syria. This is an old tried and true Israeli technique. It was used against Nixon, Bush Senior, and Clinton.

Hope that this perfectly explains why Mr Snowden did not need any collaboration from CIA to access documents he produced. Simply, in order to fulfill his duties he knew precisely what the system does and how it works.This negates any need for outside influences as Mr Rappoport alleges.

Another explanation could be to focus the American public on the internal stage while Obama is going after Syria – & Iran, in what could be the beginning of another long criminal war. Just today, the US decides to resume the help for the assailants of the Assad regime and there are talks of no-fly zone, that is the very start of a war.
There is a better explanation. The Surveillance State is in the process of implementing the next phase: bombings, mass murder, and committing other acts of destruction, that it can blame on terrorists. The only thing that is getting in its way is this trillion dollar security system that is supposed to be catching all the bad guys before they can kill Americans. So what better way to disable this system than to send one of their own to inform the freedom-loving Americans of its existence and in so doing create a backlash that would “force” the Surveillance State to shutdown the system. And them mayhem starts! The citizens will be so scared and panicked that implementing the next phase – imposition of Martial Law, will be a walk in the park. This is right off the playbook of the American puppet Philippine Dictator Ferdinand Marcos. If the plan fails, they can again ask for a few more trillion dollars to reboot system, and either way, the public will so beat up to even make a peep.

I think Snowden is working for the banks. The globalists. I doubt with his sketchy background as it has been presented anyway that he ever worked for the CIA. He is a b grade actor who has been given his script, his talking points and his role to play. What real whistleblower does an interview without a lawyer? No. Mr Snow-job is a mirage. And who exactly is funding his indefinite stay in his Hong Kong swanky digs. Even the purported 126.000 to 200.000 salary of his can’t cover that outlay. The NSA is not going anywhere but who controls the NSA is up for grabs. I think what we are witnessing is a power grab. Obama has been de-fanging the CIA for a while now. He got rid of Petraeus. He replaced with Brennan. Jon, don’t you find it interesting how Boehner comes out and calls him a “traitor” on television. Boehner wouldn’t say that and prejudice an investigation. Makes it a lot easier for him to claim political asylum. Boehner’s handlers (CIA?) told him to say that I’m pretty sure.
Also suspicious: the Ron Paul donations are 2 x $250, just enough to show up on FEC records. The kid is CIA and doesn’t have a known Facebook account yet he had no problem putting his name on FEC records via a donation to RP?
Still not entirely sure about him.

No one quits the company.
Number one, the CIA just isn’t smart of enough to pull this off.
Number two, the reason Manning and Snowden were able to pull off the documents dumps they did is because ever since electronic media storage (Computers/CDs/thumbdrives) became available, the concept of what we in the Top Secret community called Two Person Integrity (TPI) in handling classified materials has been completely circumvented because too many nerds and geeks in defense/security falsely believe that electronic ID is a deterrent to espionage and management up and down the line stupidly accept that.
Number three, there is one and only one ‘organization’ that would benefit from what Manning and Snowden did and that is the Obama Regime. Snowden is no embarrassment to them. He is working for them, whether he is smart enough to know it or not. Snowden is another Timothy McVeigh in that he was the face being put out there to associate with the dirty deed, while the real operatives will never be seen.
These NSA Leaks achieve several objectives of the O-regime, but the two most important are A-scaring you all to death that your being watched by The One and, B-telling all our enemies how information is being collected so they can change tactics and not get caught.

I don’t really care who he was working for…. all I care about is that this spy network is in place and collecting data on everybody and everything it can… what I think is happening is that they’re using the data to “categorize” people and that these categories put certain people on “watch” lists… I believe many of the “operations” in america are designed to instigate a response and as such help the “system” to pick out the future “trouble-makers” .. I know they have software designed to predict people’s behavior and they need all the data they can get. Once that have you “categorized” they put you on a watch list which I believe heightens your chance of getting into trouble with law enforcement…. I think all that is going on is “preparing” the way for future escalations of oppression and control. The government has developed a program to launch a “pre-emptive” struck on citizens they deem to be problematic in the future……

Interesting write up. The government uses journalists to spy for them, yet the journalists blame the government for wrong doing. However, they are willing to promote, through psychology and philosophy, their choice candidate to rule the world.
Wouldn’t it be easier to understand if people really knew that: The FBI sends code to break to unwitting individuals through crackerjack boxes as a means of training John Q Public to be aware of enemies and capture combatants. The CIA praises the journalists/whistle-blowers that get their hands on these codes and ships them the foreign country they’d most like the USA to resemble. The Matrix is really a training camp for crime fighters and extortionists who want others to think the current system really works.

Nice, though I doubt it was a CIA/NSA turf war, given the mass publicity. More likely the owners of USA Inc. decided it was time to get people “used to” the idea of being under complete surveillance. The frog has been boiled at a sufficiently slow rate. You are too weak to disobey government. Fear & obey.
