“You see, censorship is good if the person being censored is someone you don’t like. That’s right. You didn’t know that, did you? That’s the secret meaning of the 1st Amendment.”

—Here is how foul the political air is now, how low the ‘logic’ has sunk. If you don’t agree that Facebook censoring a particular person is a good thing, then you must be supporting that censored person. You must be on his side. There is no middle ground. There is no Bill of Rights. There is only like and hate, and hate implies there is a target to be censored—

Whole generations are being raised to think of censorship as a pleasant solution to speech they don’t like, people they don’t like, ideas they don’t like.

I’ve received an email outlining reasons not to like Alex Jones. It stopped short of saying he should be censored. Instead, it accused me of supporting him. Which of course ISN’T THE ISSUE. The issue is, should Jones be banned.

Several generations know NOTHING about the 1st Amendment or corporate monopoly of the news. All they know is: “shut bad people up.”

You could run the following Noam Chomsky quote by such people and see what reaction you get: “If you’re really in favor of free speech, then you’re in favor of freedom of speech for precisely for views you despise. Otherwise, you’re not in favor of free speech.”

The reaction you’d get? Some form of non-comprehension. In the case of the massive social-media banning of Alex Jones that occurred yesterday, these know-nothings would say: “Good. I’m glad he’s censored.”

But if social media giants can ban Jones, they can move right along to another target. They can decide that anyone who speaks out against vaccination is a danger to the community and must be silenced. They can decide anyone who defends Russia for any reason is by implication a Trump supporter, and a menace, and should have his social media presence diminished; perhaps covertly.

Many strange things can be implemented on the basis of “protecting the herd.”

The animals in the herd have a boss and if they obey the boss all goes well. The boss knows what language they should be exposed to, and what language they shouldn’t encounter. The boss understands the herd’s needs.

The Washington Examiner: “Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., is calling on other tech companies to ban more sites like InfoWars, and says the survival of American democracy depends on it.”

“’Infowars is the tip of a giant iceberg of hate and lies that uses sites like Facebook and YouTube to tear our nation apart. These companies must do more than take down one website. The survival of our democracy depends on it’,” Murphy tweeted Monday.

So ignorance of the 1st Amendment easily reaches as high as the US senate. Who is this moron, Chris Murphy? What lies is he talking about? What hate? Let’s see the examples and the evidence—unless Murphy isn’t a standard moron at all. He’s a Democrat pushing an agenda: get rid of Alex Jones because Jones is a threat to the political Left.

Major media, in particular, have their knives out for Jones, because he is taking away chunks of their audience, and they have no solution for it—except to appeal to their social media brethren to censor Jones, block him, and declare war against him.

In this day and age, the easiest way to do that is to say a person is a hater and a bigot and a violator of community standards. It falls out this way: “MR. JONES, YOU’VE INSULTED SO MANY GROUPS AND RAISED SUCH HATRED AGAINST THEM, WE’RE CENSORING YOU AND BANNING YOU. YOU’RE SUCH A PARIAH THE SPIRIT OF THE FIRST AMENDMENT DOESN’T APPLY TO YOU.”

What Jones, IN TOTALITY, has actually been doing and saying for the past couple of decades is another matter entirely. You’re not supposed to explore that. You’re not supposed to go to Infowars.com and find out, because you might become exposed to dangerous thoughts or facts. You’re supposed to pretend you know what’s happening at infowars by listening to its critics and leave it at that. You’re supposed to be incurious and oblivious and, therefore, a “perfect citizen.”

You’re supposed to be apathetic about censorship.

IF YOU DON’T LIKE A PERSON FOR ANY REASON, YOU’RE NOT SUPPOSED TO CARE IF THEY’RE CENSORED.

“Well, you see, Jones is not a good person. Therefore, ban him. Yes. Who cares? And if anyone is against banning him, they are supporting him and they’re bad, too.”

“That new criminal running around? He just posted a piece about keeping Mein Kampf on library shelves and not banning Hitler. That means he supports Hitler and Hitler’s ideas. So he is a copy of Hitler. Ban him. Censor him. Excommunicate him.”

“Colored people don’t like Little Black Sambo. Burn it. White people don’t feel good about Uncle Tom’s Cabin. Burn it.” (Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451 (1953).

“The FCC, the Federal Communications Commission, decided all by itself that radio and television were the only two parts of American life not protected by the free speech provisions of the first amendment to the Constitution. I’d like to repeat that, because it sounds… vaguely important! The FCC—an appointed body, not elected, answerable only to the president—decided on its own that radio and television were the only two parts of American life not protected by the first amendment to the Constitution. Why did they decide that? Because they got a letter from a minister in Mississippi! A Reverend Donald Wildman in Mississippi heard something on the radio that he didn’t like. Well, Reverend, did anyone ever tell you there are two KNOBS on the radio? Two. Knobs. On the radio. Of course, I’m sure the reverend isn’t that comfortable with anything that has two knobs on it… But hey, reverend, there are two knobs on the radio! One of them turns the radio OFF, and the other one [slaps his head] CHANGES THE STATION! Imagine that, reverend, you can actually change the station! It’s called freedom of choice, and it’s one of the principles this country was founded upon. Look it up in the library, reverend, if you have any of them left when you’ve finished burning all the books.” (George Carlin, 1988)

“To whom do you award the right to decide which speech is harmful, or who is the harmful speaker? Or to determine in advance what are the harmful consequences going to be that we know enough about in advance to prevent? To whom would you give this job? To whom are you going to award the task of being the censor?…To whom you would delegate the task of deciding for you what you could read? To whom you would give the job of deciding for you – relieve you of the responsibility of hearing what you might have to hear? Do you know anyone? Hands up. Do you know anyone to whom you’d give this job? Does anyone have a nominee?” (Christopher Hitchens, 2006)

  4. There are now many laws in place banning racist hate speech and against those calling for violence or death. Online rules now prohibit these two things as well, and that is healthy. Absolute freedom does not exist. You cannot threaten someone’s life and not face consequences. You cannot kill someone and not face consequences.

Genocide always starts with dehumanization and then calls for violence, killing or war. Humanity is slowly but surely moving away from fear and hatred, towards love, and that is a good thing.

Genocide also often begins with censorship.

    • bob klinck says:

Calls for violence or death might be fairly recognizable. (For example, the statements by various public figures who have, with impunity, called for the killing of Edward Snowden?) What constitutes “racism”, however, is undefined and infinitely rubbery. The term is indiscriminately applied to gender, national, religious, and other groups that have nothing to do with race. In other words, it is a political swearword whose purpose is primarily to evoke a censorious emotional reaction from the ignorant and/or simple-minded.

      • truth1 says:

I say we get rid of the concept of racisim. When I was a kid in the 60s, our parents taught us all when we complained of being called a name, “sticks and stones will break my bones, but names willl never hurt me. that obviously is a dead concept now. Everyone wants to be offended so they can be outrages. they walk around chips on their shoulders.

Now I do recognize that kids have become excessively cruel and tormenting. but as best as I can see, if we imprisoned parents for raising brats, that might improve things quite a bit. But we have become chronic cry babies, looking hand outs cause “we are oppressed” and its all white males’ faults. White male are the one thing you can pick on without being accused of hate. Oh, hell, let’s throw in Christian, too.

I have solution to this. Maybe I should patent it.We’re quickly heading down the path to self destruction of the human race. As I am seeing it at this point, I can’t see any negatives in that. Lets just interfering and the rest will take care of itself.

Stupidity is a disease and cancer and nearly everyone has come down with it now. So lets just give the cancer a little more time to do its magic. we can become the first auto-correcting feces, I mean, Species. Sorry! I just got up and I am groggy. Let me know when its over. 😛

Humans have been a dismal failure. we got at best, may 1% who are truly intelligent. Its a bit like 300 Spartans holding off the the entire Persian army. It only takes one sellout idiot to hand them over to the Persians.

The Savage Nation (Tuesday, 08/07/2018) With Michael Savage — Michael Savage August 07 2018

I have posted it because Michael Savage had Alex Jones on his show. The only one who had the courage to interview Alex Jones. It was a great interview,

But today, I find out that this video is now unavailable.

So now, They are banning Michael Savage. What a bunch of corrupted idiots.

Yes I know that, This stupid couple thought they new more than Alex Jones…LOL
I have never liked them, two idiots .

          • Adaline says:

Melissa and Aaron are not stupid at all. What is stupid is name calling and rudeness that verges on TROLL behavior.

          • honestliberty says:

Exactly. That’s been my criticism for those who rely on his unverified claims, poisonous rants, fear-mongering, etc. I think he’s got some great stuff and he’s certainly more credible than the legacy media. However, relying solely on him and his platforms for the sole source of information is not a well balanced diet of information gathering. I don’t see how that should be considered an unreasonable criticism

          • From Quebec says:

Adaline, , Melissa and Aaron are even more stupid than Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s if that is possible.

And they have no charisma, whatsoever. It is painful to listen to these buffoons
I cannot watch them, they make me sick.

The other thing I notice is that you seem to parrot his narrative, and reference predominately his information. This is a very narrow scope that I have found typically doesn’t stand up against the scrutiny of balanced perspectives.

Does this not strike you as similar behavior to any modern SJW simply supplying people with CNN, vox, guardian, etc as proof of their claims? Or a fundamentalist Baptist who only references the Bible as authoritative, not recognizing the copious amounts of diligent secular research that negates many of their views regarding Earth?

      I see a striking similarity.

      • From Quebec says:

        I see a striking similarity. (honestliberty )

        I see you need glasses.

        • It is unfortunate that on a website like this, with an author as intelligent, reasonable, and with such a robust perspective as Jon, has attracted such personages of low consciousness and rigidity as yourself. I’m sure you mean well but your combative nature and lack of awareness is not worth engaging further.

            Whatever you say Dishonestliberty

          • I know her believes, I admire her that she steadfast and true to them. And I know you know this. Why would say she is of low consciousness and lacks awareness, when clearly that is not evident…I have never seen that in all the time I have known her here. Are you picking a fight with her? Because that would be

          • honestliberty says:

Yes, I couldn’t edit after I hit send. It was borderline inflammatory, but a bunch of what she says is simply un-thinking rehashing of what Alex Jones says, with my interpretation being a lack of perspective.

She’s pro Israel, chastises anyone critical of Jews or Israel, yet refuses to acknowledge the role they play in these current affairs of eliminating Western Civilization.

There’s some other stuff, I’ll have to go back and find it and highlight more, but she’s especially combative and I have yet to see any reasonable discourse from her on a controversial topic.

You know me, I’m irritable and likely to stir pots I think need it

          • truth1 says:

Assuming you have been speaking of Meilissa of Truthstream, About a month back, or so she She was applauding facebook for admitting they had been programming people without really being aware of it and they were going to be making changes.she was all excited they admitted it. What? Like it was not obvious? I was outraged. Well, if SJWs can do it, why not me, right? I chastized her. ( I know. Its so unlike me) saying that we had been programmed by schools since 1860 and movies and media from the 20s onward, to say nothing of papers. and I told her that This was going to lead to censorship. she was celebrating it. I told her that truthstream had finally jumped the shark for feigning to be stupid, and not seeing where this was going. both Melissa and Aaron are far too smart to be that damned stupid. So they made my comment invisible to anyone but me. But I did make screen copies. Its all up here: Tearing the Veil in 2018 May
            http://truth1.org/veil_tear.htm

I do not believe there are any legitimate youtube channels covering conspiracy. Many are nice, but they are paid and awaiting orders when the time shall arrive. and many are out right liars. And I happen to have stumbled down into a rabbit hole in late 2015 and many interesting facts about shills on youtube and i was the one to discover the hidden posts technique youtube created. I followed many shills and know most their habits and techniques and made connections. Couple of them in that link above, too. Youtube, more than facebook, is a means to not only fool us but test us, and adjust their strategy accordingly and deliver messages and “suggestions.”

My theory is this. many shill sites have exceptional production with lots of video footage and documentation that take a long time to put together, to say nothing of copyrights and editing. its not done by a couple with 2 kids. Nor can some put out the volume they do, or the writing, without lots of assistance. and the agenda of most sites seem to be delivered directly from the major policy makers of the world. {That’s where I get all my stuff, ya know} 😉 😛

In the final test, we are all going to have to make our decision alone, with no help. So the present is very important for learning and bracing one’s self.

          • honestliberty says:

I was takingt about Quebec that particular post but I’ll be honest with you: I’m reticent to buy into what you told me, because that perspective seems to play into exactly what the CIA Casey is claimed to have stated:

            https://infiniteunknown.net/2015/01/15/did-cia-director-william-casey-really-say-well-know-our-disinformation-program-is-complete-when-everything-the-american-public-believes-is-false/

I’ll investigate your claims and read this tonight before bed as it would be poor judgement to not investigate.

          • honestliberty says:

Ok I read through it but I can’t call it whether that is them or you tube comment policy manipulation. I would assume that has something to do with when you posted it and when you visited it. I have not heard that presenters can manipulate comments.
The funding aspect never really struck be since they don’t put out high quality ideas in rapid succession, but rather Melissa or aaron quickly ranting about a fresh topic.
I’ll keep an eye open but I’m still trusting of most of what is being said by them

          • truth1 says:

shills can hide beneath the surface of the waters for sometime, looking perfectly legitimate. Thy await for the right moment, awaiting orders and spring in their surprise. the time will come and every one will be saying the same thing. Only wise will not fall for it.

          • honestliberty says:

Also, I admire rigidity as well, but if it’s of a religious nature and unyielding to credible information that ought to have one reevaluate thier position, then I have little patience for such dogmatic approaches to discourse. It reminds me of Islam and how the adherents refuse to acknowledge abrogation, which is essential to understanding the full context of why it’s so violent, especially once they gain a strong majority in the population. And then on top of that, they practically worship Muhammad even though he was a pedophile warlord thieving animal, pbuh my as$!

Defending dominators and refusing to recognize internal conflicts is a sore spot where I have nearly zero patience. I’m sure I will soften as I get older but it’s getting increasingly difficult as I see more and more people living in cognitive dissonance, and never even attempting to challenge themselves.

  11. Chef-doctor says:

What “social-media” does can only “rise” to the level of their bottom line (which doesn’t have great “height” in my estimation). However (and more importantly) – please present the basis of the supposed nexus between social-media and the first amendment as that might help validate that this issue falls under “United Sates” jurisdiction. Without the legal nexus we are left just with a lot of huffing and puffing.

  12. Adaline says:

    Excellent…

    • Adaline says:

Can’t tolerate the guy but he must have the right to free speech!

      • Chef-doctor says:

Based on what exactly? Based on “The Constitution”? If so then that is Law most essentially between the States and the Federal government. if “the guy” in not an officer, employee or the like of either a Sate or a Federal government entity then there is no “protection” extended to him. If this is true then he can be rejected from the forum with impunity!

        • Adaline says:

Based on the 1st amendment, of the Bill of Rights!

          • Chef-doctor says:

“The Bill of Rights” is part and parcel of “The Constitution” with the same limited application. It is only our belief that this has any Lawful application beyond its very limited proprietary-based jurisdiction. But people will certainly believe whatever they are conditioned to believe.

          • Tim says:

Maybe you should put up something to support your assertions.

Here are some notable case law examples:
            http://www.ala.org/advocacy/intfreedom/censorship/courtcases
            How limited is it really?

          • Chef-doctor says:

Tim, Thanks for the “notable cases”! There appears to be about 77 cases listed. 76 of these apparently involve one of the following: the federal government, a State, a County, a Municipality. One case is somewhat mysterious to me as far as my “assertion” and that is Gertz v. Robert Welch, Inc., however I will guess that because of the incorporation status of Robert Welch, Inc. that the nexus is that this fictitious entity is state created. In any case I find that virtually all of these cases substantiate my assertion. My assertion that the whole of the “Constitution” is about the federal government and the States stands. Individuals who want to make a claim on the federal level need to present whatever it is they think falls under that jurisdiction.

          • Tim says:

I was trying to clarify the issue. There really is/are limitations, for example slander, liable. Free speech does not allow all speech. And Jones does have the right to free speech, but that does not mean commercial means have to accommodate him.

So there is clarification vis a vis : ” if “the guy” in not an officer, employee or the like of either a Sate or a Federal government entity then there is no “protection” extended to him. ” — There is protection extended to him, it simply does not mean commercial means have to carry his message(s). He can say what ever he wants, as long as it is not slander, etc. But that does not mean he can promulgate his message, as there are other parties involved that may decline.

He can be rejected from the private, commercial forum, but he cannot be rejected from the agora/marketplace.

        • Chef
Spoken by an idiot. Can you leave the intellectual heavy lifting to others more qualified. Free speech extends to everyone, including those we don’t agree with…We don’t need a constitution to extend that right, that would clearly be a human right of all humans to speak freely…got it! It’s your right to turn him off and not have this pathetic fucking opinion of yours…

WOW! Alex Jones new app is now Number One on the Web.

    ROTFLMAO

  20. Identified and not anonymous says:

Why does no one want to discuss banning the Apps in the App store. Dont google and apple have the ability to ban Apps in their own App store. Im not saying it should or should not be banned. Im just asking why this is not being asked.
Now that i have asked the question, can people start talking about this issue and ask why apple and google stopped short of censoring the App.

  21. Mr. John E. Sparre says:

It was on Alex Jones infowars show that I learned of and now follow and learn from Jon Rappaport,PhD Paul Craig Roberts and PhD(hon) Gerald Celente. Also now love Real News with David Knight a three hour “show” preceding AJ’s show. AJ’s program is were I heard of history, battle strategy and many many outside the box thinkers /informers . Too, that listincludes Lutenent colonal Anthony Shaffer(sp),PhD& MD Steve pieczenic, General Boiken(sp),Catherine Austine Fits(sp),PhD Catherine Albrect(sp) and so many many others. AJ also links to fact backs and Documents most of what he says and now has crew that often bring up these linked/ documents as he speaks! Who else does that? If you do not see the direction of this nation and world have gone and are going, then perhaps the fluoride has calsified your pineal gland and too, you can not see!

  22. truth1 says:

I’ll just say for the record, this whole Alex Jones thing is another psyop, a false flag. Someone wants to herd us all in a particular direction and that usually ends up being war. Just remember I told you so.

Listen, I was there in the war room when they concocted this. They never make a move without me, you know. Would I lie to you guys? . . . .On 2nd thought, don’t answer that.

  23. Jacqueline Worthington says:

    Dear Jon,

I so enjoy your articles. Also have watched Alex Jones off and on over the last few years. I came across an old site by a man called Bill Cooper. He has a very interesting approach to world affairs. Are you familiar with him?. He also has interesting approach on Alex Jones that has influenced my thoughts on Alex in a negative way. If you can find the time please view some of Bill Cooper’s videos and let me know what you think. Keep up the important and credible work you do.I hope you health is good and you are right the more you do the more you can do. Thankyou

    Best Regards Jacqueline

    • truth1 says:

Bill Cooper is legitimate and excellent. I got his book Behold a Pale Horse. He woke me up about UFOs. and he was killed off. Martyrdom is a pretty good indication that someone was upset with him.

    • From Quebec says:

Forget Bill Cooper’s, he is out of his mind. Was not too bad before but now he is a complete idiot.
