We are having a spiritual experience

by Jon Rappoport

Recent events, about which I won’t go into detail, have caused me to say, we are having a spiritual experience.

And we are learning what that experience is.

Certain people, extraordinary people, show us qualities that transcend life.

These qualities, courage and love.

In the common arena where we all live, there are sufferings, but we can see that certain people transcend that. They come here, not only with a message, but with how they live. And how they live is greater than this life.

These people—there are many more of them than we ordinarily suppose.

This spiritual experience we are having—it is something we are learning about. I want to repeat that, because I’m not talking about something that appears and then is final. We are, if we are aware, learning.

Courage and love transcend this life we are living in the common arena.

The person who has shown me that is my wife, Laura Thompson. I have been learning about her for the 21 years we have been married. I have been learning about the scope and nature of her courage and love.

It is not easy for a person to live in this world on the side of love. To travel this life with love results in disappointments. But to continue, despite what happens, no matter what the world says or does, is majestic and beautiful. It is also transcendent.

And that is the living proof that there is a spiritual experience beyond this life as we are living it.

I believe, no matter who you are, that you have known a person who embodies this living proof.

Here and now.

As we learn, we come across “divisions” between the life we are living and the greater live we perceive. A major part of the learning is accepting that division.

There is a resolution. We come to it by degrees.

There are strengths in both the life we are living and the greater life we glimpse, perceive, and experience.

We come across great souls. They may be invisible to us for a time, even as we respond to them. But in time, we see more of them and who they are. And as we do, we see ourselves—what we can be. We see that what we can be is a natural extension of what we presently are doing.

As for myself, even as I feel my greatest love for Laura, I know it is only a part of what I will feel, as I learn more, in this spiritual experience I’m having.

As I learn more about her. As I live my life next to hers and as we have our endless life together.

Veils lifted from the heart and mind and eyes.

Thanks for this posting. One of my biggest beefs is with feminazis. Remember back when we used to embrace the differences between men and women? Terms like “you complete me” weren’t trite then. Feminists have worked very hard to destroy the life nurturing, man completing aspects of women. While they’ve made a lot of progress, I think a lot of women reject much of their drivel.

  2. Any woman standing staunchly beside you, sir, for twenty one years, has got to be a shining light. Please convey your readers’ love and gratitude, and both of you have a beautiful day.

Jon, magnificent and beautifully expressed. Your genuine words lifted my heart in the most simple way. Indeed, a spiritual experience with courage trailblazing love.

Life has shown me time and time again joy overflows when courage and love are fused in one.

  4. I am so very happy for you, Jon, that you are experiencing what is hard to put into words, but is more true than anything tied to the physical ‘birth to death’ experience, where the ‘one life’ inhabits the physical realm for a brief time. Words can’t express the feeling or the true meaning of ‘love’, but when the ‘penny drops’, you just know it!
If you aren’t already familiar with the following, may I recommend the teachings/writings of Eckhart Tolle(The Power Of Now etc), Anthony De Mello(Awareness, The Way to Love etc), Wayne Dyer, LaoTzu(Tao De Ching)…… which will help immeasurably in finding within yourself that which makes the ‘penny drop’ even further. Namaste.

I’m married to one, too. Don’t know what I did to deserve it, but there you are. Thanks, Jon.

  6. Dani says:

it takes courage and love to unshackle our minds and pull away from the entrainment to groupthink. Individual, free and compassionate souls who take those first steps (with courage and love) and then continue, just far enough to be able to gain a perspective, can lead the rest out of bondage. If this is not a spiritual experience we are all sharing, I don’t know what is.

“It is not easy for a person to live in this world on the side of love”……could that be because maybe love doesn’t have a side to begin with, and my belief that it does keeps me in the fold?

WE are the conspiracy, because WE is the conspiracy. How can the thinker be separate its thought?

    NOW, that’s a spiritual experience!

…..unless, of course, you mean that WE (wink wink)!

  8. JJ says:

Such a heartfelt posting for, as Dani states, the courage of love among free thinking individuals is really the only way humanity can dig its way out of bondage. Here Here and Bravo!

  9. Christine says:

May you continue on this path of truth, Jon. Love will conquer all. Courage comes with that knowledge. God is Love who sustains us though the struggle and the pain that we, who choose to see and believe, experience. We are engaged in a spiritual battle between realms of good and evil, here and now in this physical plane. Wait and see the glory of God…

    • annemanyak says:

Thank you, Christine, for bringing God into the picture. God is truth and grace and, without both, love can’t endure.

  10. Chris says:

Thank you Jon that was beautiful, the simple truth. I don’t see how humanity could’ve came into being without love. Or survived as long as we have without it?

    Thanks again!

Beautiful pointing to the ineffable reality, our true home, in the nitty gritty of dealing with all this here on Earth – thanks Jon!

So very nice. Thank you for sharing this.

“There are strengths in both the life we are living and the greater life we glimpse, perceive, and experience.”

I sense that dual nature of life: first, as a series of actions, corresponding to our aims, and second, as pure experience. Love is found in the second part, and courage is needed for the first. And each part depends on the other, they are inseparable. Courage is needed to generate and defend love, and love is needed to sustain our courage.

I lost my wife last year, and it was surprising to me how much courage I found, based on our lifelong love which lasted 40 years. Being paralyzed by the loss was really not an option. I had to make arrangements, deliver the eulogy, handle probate, communicate with friends and family members, and finally, find a way to re-orient myself and find a new direction. The love we had is still there as a distillation. The original experiences are evaporated, as it were, by time. I accepted that – I had to let them go, but the essence remains. And there is my evidence for eternity. I believe that there is an afterlife that is primarily pure experience, distilled from this life. So yes, good and evil matter in this life – you will reap what you sow, many times over.

On your loss, I can only say that all of those that I have lost in my time still live on in my head. I can still have conversations with people that I was close to decades ago. I’m not saying they are actually talking with me, but when you know someone well, ….. Love the quote and confess I had never heard of him before. Thanks for the introduction.

    • chefjemichel says:

      Thank you Greg!

I’d like to quote your fourth line (and possibly more ; ~ )!

What a wonderful gift it is for me to grok the “distillation” of love shared over a life time! – Spiritual homeopathy?

    • NaturalWoman says:

Greg, my sympathy to you. I’ve experienced the deep loss of my beloved spouse, but consciously decided to turn grief into gratitude and discovered a strength I didn’t know I had. Life is still good!

Ah yes…well said Jon. We are spirits first and formost here. And how about a word from the trancendant and great artist Kahil Gibran.

I have been researching visionary painters of late — amazing spirits on a visual journey artists like Thomas Cole. Pinkham Ryder, Elihu Vedder, Innes, and came across his (Gibran’s) images and words again, after decades of forgetting. Many don’t know he was a accomplished artist. Quite compident, he had a good hand.

When I read Gibrans words for the first time as a youth, I knew that my feet were on the right path and that God does speak to us, as individuals not as a group.
Gibran had a direct line to the spirit. Both in himself and Anima Mundi. And so, I impart his words…

“Let there be spaces in your togetherness, And let the winds of the heavens dance between you. Love one another but make not a bond of love: Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls. Fill each other’s cup but drink not from one cup. Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf. Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone, Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music. Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping. For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts. And stand together, yet not too near together: For the pillars of the temple stand apart, And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other’s shadow.”  — Kahil Gibran

My story is very different than yours, Jon. Married and divorced in my early twenties. I decided I wanted to live alone with no husband nor kids. I wanted to be free and available to everyone.

I like people. I met so many in my life. People easily come to me, even strangers I meet for the first time talks to me and finally tell me all of their problems. I don’t know exactly why, but I think it is because people want to be listened to and I am a great listener.

So, all of my live I have listened to people in trouble. They come to me crying and they leave laughing. It makes me feel good to know I could help them, not by giving them advices, I do not do that, but because I am a funny woman, Their problems seem tiny when you put a bit of humor into it. I should have been a comedian, I would be rich by now.

It is amazing that making people feel good makes you feel good. It is a sort of spiritual experience.

  16. SJ Smith says:

Thanks Jon, such good timing. I got ambushed with the baby Aldie story out of England. It brought up my own similar loss and horror at the hands of University Pediatric hospitals, 30 years ago. I realized I have to keep forgetting about it in order to keep on, as I’ve done before. People like your wife are an inspiration.

  17. MrDuncmck says:

my antidote to being a schmuck at times is being grateful i remember the bottom line .That being one of the primary forces inside my being ..Being in love i make that choice. It dissipates the rock and hard places of life..been with my true love for 25 years .what a learning curve it was before? whhheeeewwww!! shes still with me ..every passing year it becomes more solid..thanks jon !! a side expressed i have not seen coming from you.

  18. A beautifully written anecdote, I would say your wife has shown you humanity and not spirituality, Jon. I don’t think humans know what it is to be “spiritual”.

My “soon to be released” (hopefully this weekend) article titled “Does the Draconians’ False (Light) Matrix Leverage off the Ancient Atlantis Tamarian?” touches on what I term “raw spirituality””

“As I outline in my book The Beauty of Existence Decoded, stars fulfil the need to grow and (therefore) reproduce like any other entity. The method they use is sadly conventional and closely copies our fungi spooring processes (or is that the other way round?). Therefore it could be said an individual sun is the equivalent of a “cell” or even a “particle” that collaborates with others to collectivise in order to become a functional body. Therefore, to call any individual cell (i.e. Ra) “the body” is nothing short of dishonesty. Capping off occultist distortion of values, in Ra’s case the roles and purposes of heavenly bodies have been so overlooked (or, rather, grotesquely twisted to suit interests of religious miscreants), they are virtually conceptually unknown. I find it ironic that the supposedly faithful have no effective parameters to refer to that will quench any thirst for raw spirituality.

Similar to the pyramidal hierarchy that is the human body, the divine mind needs a physical asset “to be” (and express itself – true “causality”). When Ra is presumed to “control” material functionality, truth has been turned inside out. The body is nothing more than a very useful vehicle. Thus Ra (in the context of sun worship) is actually evidence of the denial of mind’s role (an atypical symptom of rationalistic atheist materialism) in cognitive performance. This and other mysterious effects are the metaphysical property of spiritual domains. Consequentially, everything that thinks has a conscience-of-sorts. The mind is not illusory steam. Indeed, the reverse is so for after brain service ceases, the mind carries on. Conscious being is eternal whereas the body and all its parts are a semblance tuned to a specific dimensional paradigm.”

Thank you Jon. I can’t put into words like you and others have done so eloquently here but I needed to read something like this today. Words can make a positive difference.

    All the best

Thank you for this post. I admire the words you had to say about your wife. Marriage and partnerships in life are wonderful learning experiences. Not only can they reveal our truest selves but in return we witness the growth and rebirth of those who chose to journey with us. Wish you two wonders bliss together as you continue to love and grow with each other.
