Guns: the one-size-fits-all solution is no solution

Guns: the one-size-fits-all solution is no solution

The novelist William Burroughs once wrote: “After a shooting spree, they always want to take the guns away from the people who didn’t do it. I sure as hell wouldn’t want to live in a society where the only people allowed guns are the police and the military.”

The overwhelming number of people who own guns in America aren’t killers. Anyone can, with a little digging, discover where most of the guns crimes are happening—and that’s where law-enforcement should focus their efforts. Trying to disarm the whole country is not only unworkable, it’s targeting the wrong people.

A one-size-fits-all strategy is the work of bureaucrats in a tyranny.

Vaccinate everyone—despite the fact that, by definition, those who are vaccinated should be automatically protected from those “germ carriers” who aren’t. And by the way, research shows that vaccinated people shed (spread) the viruses for which they’ve vaccinated.

Diagnose millions of people with a whole set of standardly defined mental disorders, despite the fact that every individual is unique and different. And by the way, there are NO defining diagnostic tests for ANY official mental disorder. No blood, saliva, urine tests. No brain scans. No genetic assays.

Educate millions and millions of schoolchildren in public government schools by programming them with the same set of “progressive” values, as if they’re all identical automatons in need of mind control.

Carry out wall-to-wall surveillance on the whole population, as if that is the only way to spot a small number of terrorists.

Go to war against major segments of a whole country (e.g., Afghanistan), as if that is the only way to root out a small number of terrorists.

Instead of searching out and vigorously prosecuting mega-corporations (with long jail sentences for executives) who actually pollute and poison the soil, water, and air, assume that the business of America is business across the board, and ignore the “side effects.”

And conversely, when the bureaucracy is rendered so thin it can’t adequately screen and vet the huge number of immigrants rushing into America, promote a policy of open borders so everyone can come in (because “they’re all good people”)—thus reflecting the values taught to the young in government schools. And say this is the meaning of America.

Surveying this list and adding your own examples, you might conclude that entrenched centralized power is actively trying to destroy the country.

And then many people would think you’ve gone off the rails.

And magically, those are the same people who’ve been given a lifetime of indoctrination in the policy of one-size-fits-all, because such a policy is humane and good and serves a brighter future for all, for everyone, for the Collective.

Amen.

Jon, do you have a column that focuses more just on the gun control issue? I like how this essay starts… but I want to have a common-sense article to link to with this kind of perspective just focused on the gun issue. Thanks for any pointers.

They chip away at a culture, slowly incessantly breaking apart society into this or that faction until it’s “malleable”. Russia, Germany etc. Here’s a clip in which Putin admits to how the “red” army walked through cities/towns with hardly opposition – no weapons. Also, “historians” discuss how Hitler “disarmed” the people, not true, he re-armed the people.

After all, even a culture as “dumbed down” and politically correct as this one has to admit it is outrageous to whimper and whine about “evil Muslims and terrorists out of ONE side of a corrupted pie hole – then work diligently for your masters to DIS-arm your people out of the OTHER side.

It would make MUCH more sense to look CLOSELY at every person they SAY pulled off a mass shooting, for traces of their “safe” pharmaceutical psychotropics.

Don’t look for any “honorable” members of law enforcement taking our side, They’ve been training via Israeli companies for years now. there’ a WHOLE NEW type of psyche looked for in “Cop material”.

Any government looking to disarm it’s people should be carefully inspected for the “kosher banker” seal of approval.

This is about a number of topics other than guns where one type solutions.are not the answer. We are individuals not zombies or robots programmed to function and feel alike.
We have different feelings, ideas, talents and dreams.

Everything is fake in this corrupted world. The Elites want their New World Order.and they will do everything and anything to accomplish their goal.

Remember, that the Democrats said that if Trump release the Nuness memo, that there would be violence in this country.

And here comes the Florida school shooting. A perfect False Flag again, with a perfect patsy.
They know that they will eventually all go to jail, so they want the people to be disarmed.

As far as school safety: Ever notice that the majority of politicians crying about gun control have their kids safely ensconced in a very expensive, very well guarded private school?

    • Theodore says:

Yes. If I were a betting man, i would bet that elite private schools have a good handful of manly Men on-hand, at all times, carrying concealed (also with a cache of various long guns close by).

Oh, BTW, at elite private airports, there is no TSA. Just Customs agents — if said private airport accepts international flights.

      Funny how that works.

      • Larry says:

“Oh, BTW, at elite private airports, there is no TSA. Just Customs agents — if said private airport accepts international flights.”

        Now THAT is interesting!

Yep! I will provide you the link.

In the PATRIOT Act of October 2001, those airports were “exempted” out.

          • Theodore says:

“…His guests, who included Vogue editor Hamish Bowles, were already on board. There were no TSA checkpoints to endure, no snaking Starbucks lines to avoid and no bearded hipsters dozing on backpacks to impede his progress. Curbside to cruising altitude took place in a matter of minutes.”

This is interesting information that you certainly don’t see covered in mainstream media; instead, we see the brainwashed plebes saying, “Thank goodness for the TSA–they keep us safe!”

But then again, as we all know, those who are wealthy enough to travel by private plane, and via private airport, are so much better morally than the rest of us. They never do anything wrong and certainly don’t deserve to be groped and treated like cattle, right?

I’ve seen infographics on the location and race of victim and perpetrator for crimes committed for a number of American cities. These are published from time to time by the newspapers of those cities. The overwhelming realization from these crime maps shows that thinking about a one size fits all solution is silly. All but a very few shootings take place in very distinct neighborhoods. It’s young black men shooting other young black men or young Hispanic men shooting other young Hispanic men. In those areas, there is a problem. A solution that might work there will probably not work in the civilized areas. The result of not delineating the problem areas has caused the deaths of too many black and Hispanic men. But if you try to prevent these deaths, you will be called a racist. Most people will avoid the controversy and the killings continue.

  11. John Barlicorn says:

But it is a fact that most murders happen in America and America has more guns than any other country. In UK even the police doesn’t carry guns. So how do you suggest to solve the mass shootings that seem to happen only in America?

    • Theodore says:

“In UK even the police doesn’t carry guns.”

Yes, the “front-line” police don’t carry. The SWAT — with all sorts of guns — is “minutes” away.

It is the same model in communist China.

    • henry says:

Europe has a much higher rate of gun deaths than the US. America has a higher background rate of black men killing black men. The people not having guns in Europe has causes periods of mass killings: 1914-1917 and 1938-1945. The American government is nasty. But, they would be nastier if the American people were not armed. Ask the Indians.

  12. John Barlicorn says:

I don’t know if the analogy to vaccination is true. Vaccinated are not in any way endangered by vaccinated, its the other way around. If guns go into wrong hands, there will be blood and massacre. American public is in general highly unstable chemistry who will pickup a fight with no second thought. If some lunatic gets a weapon, he is a potential threat to everybody. I get the point of having freedom and democracy and the right to have weapons (if you want weapons), but how am I as an individual going to be guaranteed safety from some random armed psychos? I need a debate over this.

  13. The Odd Duck says:

Over the years before the internet, I did research from state police resources, libraries, hospital libraries, bought books on the subject, and any place that leads would take me. One thing that I found when the news media was having circus at Stockton, CA about the shooting of the five children, a little girl by the name of Jennifer Mohr was being rape and strangle in Novato, Ca. On thinking about it we don’t look at homicide in America but just at firearms. When I started to look at it in that manner I realize that we have 68% of the homicides are done by firearms in which we have 20,000 plus federal, state, and local laws. With 32% non-firearms are They are sacrificial lambs to be fed to the alter of ignorance and indifferences.

What we need to do is to break the cycle of dynamics violence or the lack of moral control and self-esteem. And which gun control law stop Ted Bundy and how many did he killed? Maybe just maybe we should have stayed part of the British Empire as it so much better that ours. Using the faze “common sense” is very ambiguous as at one-time prohibition, the Volstead act was common sense. BTW what ever happen to the Brady Law I thought that was the magic elixir for gun control. Last. It’s heart breaking in reading the who’s who of persons kill by other persons on Psychoactive Drugs.
