Open letter to NFL players: you’re being used

Try being politically INcorrect if you want some real answers

Dear NFL Players:

In case you’ll only read a few worlds of this story, I’ll get right to the point.

You’re being used.

You’re being duped into focusing on the wrong issue: police brutality against black people.

If you actually want to solve what’s happening to black people in inner cities, police brutality is way down on the list.

By focusing only on brutality, you’re leading people AWAY FROM seeing what’s really going on in inner cities. You’re guaranteeing NO ANSWERS. You’re guaranteeing NO CHANGE.

“Let’s not solve the problem, whatever the problem is. Let’s just ramp up the conflict and the polarization between races.”

Let’s go back to the original protestor, ex-quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who made his original kneeling protest about police brutality directed at black people. I want to examine his premise.

Here are bare-bones statistics from New York City, perhaps the only big city in America that issues a detailed annual report of police “firearms discharges.” You may be shocked.

Population of NYC: 8.3 million.

Police officers: 35,000.

2013 incidents of “intentional [police weapon] discharges during an adversarial conflict”: 40.

In those discharges, number of people injured: 17.

Number of people killed: 8.

Source: NYPD 2013 Annual Firearms Discharge Report.

In that same year, according to the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, there were 7,462 “violent crimes by firearm” in New York City.

Who was the busier class of people in 2013? Cops or criminals? Which group caused, by far, the greater amount of human destruction of black people?

Philly.com has reported on several other American cities.

“Philadelphia’s rate of police shootings [2012], when compared against the number of violent crimes, was 2.90 per 1,000 incidents [of violent crime].”

“The rate of [police] shootings in Houston for 2012 was 1.25 [per 1000 violent crimes].”

“In 2012, the rate of police shootings in Dallas was 2.39 [per 1000 violent crimes].”

“In 2011, the rate of police shootings in Las Vegas stood at 1.66.”

“Baltimore’s rate [2011] was 1.58.”

Again, I ask: in those cities, who was the busier class of people? The cops or the criminals?

If facts don’t scare you, do a little research and discover who, by and large, is committing most of those violent crimes in US cities. By race.

Media outlets don’t ask and answer this simple question. They parse and evade and blow smoke. They trumpet small increases in the rate of police shootings and, therefore, obscure chronic inner-city conditions [e.g., violent crimes].

And as long as they keeping doing that, the public will continue to be distracted, and nothing will change.

As long as Colin Kaepernick and his supporters keep focusing only on police brutality, the problem of violent crime and poverty and other chronic devastations in inner cities won’t change at all.

Is that what you protestors want? No change at all?

What are the real devastations in inner cities populated by black people?

* Violent crime.

* Drugs.

* Gangs, some of whom are low-level dealers for Mexican cartels.

* Grinding poverty.

* Jobs stolen by Globalists and sent to foreign lands.

* Toxic chemicals (lead in water, landfills where corporate pollutants are dumped).

* Absence of fathers in homes.

* Unsafe neighborhoods—making education highly difficult.

* Grossly sub-standard nutrition. Empty junk food.

These are the most real problems—police brutality is far down on the list.

In other articles, I’ve written about solutions to some of these problems. Here, I’ll simply say that if you NFL protestors want to make a difference, you need to stand up and do something harder than you’re doing now. Right now, you’re unwitting agents of NO CHANGE and racial divide-and-conquer.

YOU’RE FOCUSING ON POLICE BRUTALITY, AS IF THAT’S THE DEEPEST PROBLEM IN BLACK INNER CITIES. It isn’t. So you’re leading people away from recognizing and admitting what the real problems are.

What you’re doing now, men, isn’t going to work. You’re only going to sow more conflict.

And by the way, all those thinly disguised Leftist sports writers and columnists and broadcasters who are “resolutely coming to your defense?” They’re useless. They aren’t doing you any favors. They’re mainly interested in appearing virtuous. Some of them are scared not to appear virtuous.

But look, if you don’t want to solve the biggest problems in inner cities, if that doesn’t interest you, if that’s politically incorrect and you don’t want to touch that with a ten-foot pole, it’s understandable.

Just go out on the field and play football then.

Admit your protests are nothing more than polarizing distractions from the real issues.

Admit you’re galvanizing black people in the wrong direction, away from meaningful solutions. You’re adding to the problem.

By the way, if you think government is the ultimate answer to the conditions in inner cities, consider this: since 1966, when President Lyndon Johnson declared the mighty War on Poverty, it’s estimated that two trillion dollars have been poured into black neighborhoods, to “lift them up.”

How has that worked out? Where has all the money actually gone? Who stole how much of that money? How do those black neighborhoods look today? Where are the Congressmen who want that situation investigated?

Do you get the feeling that someone somewhere wants black inner cities to fail and keep on failing? And failure is part and parcel of a vicious agenda?

In which case, you’re actually on the side of promoting failure. Your protests are Pied Piper tunes leading the people of inner cities into deeper despair. And away from the truth, away from the most pressing problems.

You’re being used. You’re agents.

When you signed your NFL contracts, did you have any idea things would work out this way?

Well, they have.

You’re looking a simple formula here. Understand it. It’s been used all over the world for centuries. If there are 10 things people could really do to solve a horrendous chronic situation, highlight some other problem that won’t lead TO ANY SOLUTION. Focus on that. Enlist high-profile people to keep focusing on that.

Get it?

You’re those high-profile people. YOU.

And the black inner cities? They’re showcases for Globalists, who want to convince one and all that permanent economic and political dependence on higher authority is the only policy that counts.

People raising themselves up is out. Forget it.

End result?

Slavery.

The very thing you say you’re fighting against.

But through a clever twist, a long-term covert op, you’re fighting for it.

Wise up. Wake up.

Or keep fronting for elites and keep losing, no matter what the scoreboard says on Sunday.

    Greeting Jon,

You just put all of my scattered thoughts about what’s wrong with poverty, the black community and violence into a greater perspective. Your writing and wisdom goes a long way with me (and others) to see the real solutions instead of the real distractions. Kudos to you and keep up the great work. Your reality insights and observations are awesome!

    Thanks, Greg

If the NFL is all about equality why are there no black team owners?
Have you heard about the Seattle player who is giving a black power salute every team he tackles a white player?
Could you imagine the uproar if a white player gave a Nazi salute.
Also four current players and one former player are pretty much demanding that the NFL make November police brutality awareness month.
It is not called that by name though.
Hip hop mogul and (c)rapper Jay-Z will not play the Stupor Bowl halftime show if the NFL doesn’t make November police brutality awareness month.
This all goes back to the hands up don’t shoot fake news regarding Saint Michael of the Swisher in St. Louis.

  12. truth1 says:

A superb article and some great comments, too. Some real brains gathered here. But the real problem here is men without names but with lots of money to bribe corrupt people into doing destructive things for a few bucks.

“What you’re doing now, men, isn’t going to work. You’re only going to sow more conflict.”

Exactly! That is what the most rich and powerful men in the world, want. Misery and he11. I am sure a few key football players might have received some incentives along the way, maybe last year. Then the strong men of the world had a little talk with the NFL owners and those they answer to, to get them on board. Can’t have owners persecuting players unless that was deemed to be a good play to put on for the press and the useless idiots (95% of the population). Bread and circuses, right?

Its just another fake event to fool the masses and keep them distracted as always. It takes a fair amount of intelligence to see past sophisticated deception, made possible by huge collective concentrated wealth and the power and networks that develop and spread like cancer.

Humans can only function when close to nature with minimum amounts of technology that enable hideous weapons of extreme power, as well as massive industrialization, that is used as an excuse to maintain priced based on labor rather than the far lower cost of mass produced goods. Prices go down, but nearly as much as profitability goes up. This allows the master of production to get far more labor out of the masses with much less expenditure. Yet more profitability. the great wealthy generate is used against us.

then they manipulate our reality, largely thru the various media and we become alpha-state zombies that play into their hands. And the big boys own all the militaries of the world as well.

    Concentrated wealth sucks!

  13. don wleklinski says:

nailed that one to the wall.

  14. Aron says:

Jon, you wrote some time ago that providing start-up funding to help initiate urban gardening businesses for inner city folks would go a long way to address some of the points you’ve addressed above (e.g., jobs, nutrition). I can’t imagine what a positive impact this idea might have for a community particularly if it was lead by a NFL player. I’m sure there are lots of good deeds many NFL players are doing in their own communities, but for many reasons this particluar idea you wrote about is just too good not to repeat.

  15. Well that is interesting, Mr R, except for the fact that police brutality does, in fact, exist and getting worse every year. One thing about statistics and “reports” is… sometimes they don’t give a completely 100% accurate scale to a subject. That is my euphemistically “liberal” way of saying… they lie.

But besides that, I mean c’mon. So much violence perpetrated by cops. I hear it every day. And not only against blacks. The woman in Minnesota for example, Justine Ruszczyk. What about the cops ‘stop and frisk’ agenda in NYC? No, they aren’t fatalities. They aren’t ‘discharges.’ But they sure as hell are VIOLENT. And Illegal. That should count.

Crime rates are going down and cop violence is going up? How does that work? It comes from the top down no doubt.
    http://theweek.com/speedreads/441954/fbi-violent-crime-down-but-police-killing-civilians

The fact is that cops are out of control. They operate mostly with impunity and immunity. Many of them are corrupt and actively working criminal activities. I don’t need to post links. I don’t need to quote statistics. It’s all out there. And, yes, blacks are targeted by cops. Period. Ferguson? That was an execution and many such executions occur way too frequently.

I don’t doubt that the NFL players don’t see that they are being played. You don’t get paid that much without being played in some way or another. But I for one at least give them a little credit for going against the “grain,” the normalization of everyday life where innocent people are hurt and criminals (who happen to work for the government) walk. Every single day.

    • “I don’t care what everybody says. I don’t care about the facts. There is a Santa Claus. He has a red suit and a big belly. I know it. I know it. You can’t change my mind, the carrot and cookie go missing every year.”

How can you think with all that shit you wrote in your head Bleak.

“So much violence perpetrated by cops. I hear it every day.”….

Hear from whom, friends who think like you. Does anyone challenge you and you listen and take heed. Or consider those new facts. Consider the challenge by the Rappoport, the challenge to think. Now fucking think.

Newspapers, television and the like are in the business of selling you a story. So if cops killing black people sells…there will be stories of cops killing black people in every newspaper, magazine, Internet etc.

Plus peanut, there’s a psych-op going on in America. it called divide and conquer…sponsor by George “I’m goin to destroy the world before I leave” Soros…what a sorry SOB that is…BLM is a Soros run campaign that puts out stories denigrating the police and propagandizes….

Get the minorities on one side and the real people (priviledged white people lol) on the other…
*there’s a joke in there somewhere*

Now stop being a pest and put your big pants on, and use your other senses, and the most important one, common sense and maybe you will learn something.

BTW…maybe this will give you an idea how much violence is being committed by…blacks, mesicans, black tranny mesicans, black lesbians, gay black mesicans….
      ( joking, lighten up)

      https://jonrappoport.wordpress.com/2017/09/03/true-california-city-will-pay-gang-members-to-remain-peaceful/

        • ohh bleak. c’mon…
don’t kick over the plastic table and leave the tea party you hosted. Respond like an adult. Responding in that manner only provides us the information we already knew: you are a vapid social justice warrior, virtual signaling, wannabe intellectual.

However, there were some points that I agree with regarding the way some police treat civilians of all backgrounds. However, that article you posted was far too insufficient to make your points.
Come back and really get to the core. Or maybe, push yourself and let’s talk about how the idea that police are necessary is mind control and obvious slavery. Why? There is no such thing as external authority. Let’s talk about the realness of our individuality. Are you willing to engage in that level of debate?

“FUCK YOU.” ? C’mon bleak, thats child’s play. Grow up. Get real. Let us get down and dirty into some legitimate conversation about what really matters.

    • flowergirl says:

I agree with your point of view especially with the asset seizure laws that Sessions loves so much and wants to promote which turns the police force into a criminal organization which they were already halfway there even without it. I see the the cops as thugs with guns who want to pull me over for accidentally crossing a line drawn on the street and then extort a $500 fine from me. And it does seem as if they are mostly racist and go after blacks quite a bit and it does seem to be getting worse. I am a white conservative libertarian btw.

However, this doesn’t negate what Mr R says in this article. Even if the statistics are lying, which I don’t doubt, his perspective is still valid and profound.

The flag represents the people and those who have fought and died for it.
Whether fighting for it is right or wrong that is another debate.

Police shooting are the smokescreen, and the antics of the NFL are being coordinated with Black Lives Matter so as to distract from the fire–economic war and mass incarceration, a.k.a “The New Jim Crow”. The fact of Kaepernick’s name starting with a K (K-Street lobbyists, Special K Cereal, the cereal of serial killers and the twin pillars of the temple of Solomon) and his jersey number being the Freemasonic “lucky number 7” (the G) on a team called the 49ers which is 7 squared and has digits referring to the number 13 (as in the Kingship of the thirteenth bloodline) thereby confers the nature of his antics as being that of a typical sigil. Ho hum. It’s all about triggering the right wing backlash, all choreographed and pageantry pushed to the limit. Same as it ever was.

When blacks have turned inward to deal with our problems, racist whites have blunted those efforts. Remember Marcus Garvey was building black businesses and the government deported him.
Remember in Oklahoma blacks were building thriving black businesses and racist whites burned what was CALLED BLACK Wall Street to the ground. So, if you mean well write an article telling racist whites to keep their hands off of our progress. Tell Trump to keep his Cointelpro operations out of our economic building organizations. There are whites who DON’T want us to progress. Keep them at bay or they Will be dupes for the illuminati and stir up a hornets nest.
There are those among blacks who will build and progress. We need racist, envious whites to keep their hands off.

  27. beverly says:

An electronic thumbs up to your on-point article Mr. Rappoport. This anthem kerfluffle is another in a long line of “events” manufactured or instigated by powers that be to 1) oust Trump or weaken his ability to govern; and 2) to distract/divide/conquer the sheeple which makes it easier for powers to cement a fascist agenda. I have the feeling Kaepernik’s Rosa Parks moment may have been a covert op courtesy of Soros. The guy was pretty mild mannered and after a lousy 2015 season he suddenly he turns into Malcolm X. Notice how we now rarely if ever hear anything from Kaepernik. If he was so passionate about “the cause,” one would expect to see him in the news often leading protest marches, giving interviews on the issue, etc. The black masses (don’t call p.c. police; I’m black) have been unwitting dupes of Democrats and liberal elites for a long time. The corrupt, self-appointed black misleadership class is as big an impediment to progress as the right wing scarecrows they use to keep the bleeple in line. Athletes can kneel for the next 10 years and police brutality will still be a problem – along with the 99 other problems many of which Rappoport talks about in this article and on the Richie Allen Show interview. If Kaepernik and friends really want to make a difference, they’d pool their funds to build a factory in Detroit, Chicago, or Baltimore that makes merchandise/equipment for NFL and other sports leagues. Start out small with one or two plants to provide jobs including jobs for people with criminal records who have major difficulty finding work. Pay decent wages of at least 15/hr to lift help people out of poverty. Solicit venture capital from grandstanders like Spike Lee (he’s trying to get Kaepernik a job in NFL; try creating jobs for the millions of blacks who really need a hand!) and the liberal snowflakes in the entertainment world. BTW, white people also are victims of questionable and plain old WTF police tactics too. But the media doesn’t report these stories because it benefits the powers that be to treat police brutality as a “black issue.” I am not making light of the real problem of “police gone wild.” I am saying the black masses have even bigger problems that they need to address and this has to be done at the grassroots level. You can’t depend on the black misleadershippers and their Democrat plantation handlers who’ve done nothing in the past 4 decades to improve your lot in life.
