Trump wins: coloring-book and Play-Doh therapy for college kids

Wall Street Journal: “Colleges try to comfort students upset by Trump victory…despair over Clinton’s loss prompts ‘cry-in’ at Cornell; Play-Doh for the distraught…Dozens of students at Cornell University gathered on a major campus thoroughfare for a ‘cry-in’ to mourn the results of the 2016 election Wednesday, with school staff providing tissues and hot chocolate.”

I can hear some low-level staffer at Cornell saying, “Let’s get out there, Millie. These kids are crying. They need tissues!”

PJ Media: “…the University of Kansas reminded students via social media of the therapy dogs available for comfort every other Wednesday…’People are frustrated, people are just really sad and shocked,’ said Trey Boynton, the director of multi-ethnic student affairs at the University of Michigan…There was a steady flow of students entering Ms. Boynton’s office Wednesday. They spent the day sprawled around the center, playing with Play-Doh and coloring in coloring books, as they sought comfort and distraction.”

Tufts, Cornell, the University of Michigan—schools for high-performing students. Or they were. I don’t know what they are now. Daycare centers for toddlers? Obviously, regression to an earlier stage of development is a mind-control op favored by these institutions.

Maybe a Michigan alumnus with deep pockets could lay out some serious cash to build a giant dome shaped like a womb, where the kids could gather and curl up during cloudy days.

“You went to the U of Michigan? Great football school.”

“I wouldn’t know. I was in utero for four years.”

The Matrix Revealed

Perhaps this is a clue: “…a national survey by the American Institutes for Research (AIR)” has discovered that “[t]wenty percent of U.S. college students completing four-year degrees—and 30 percent of students earning two-year degrees…are unable to estimate if their car has enough gasoline to get to the next gas station or calculate the total cost of ordering office supplies…[or] compare ticket prices or calculate the cost of a sandwich and a salad from a menu.”

How do these geniuses graduate?

“Hold up ten fingers. Very good. Here’s your diploma.”

“What do I do now?”

“Pay back your student loan.”

“I can’t tell how much I owe.”

“Don’t worry. That’s probably a good thing.”

Arrested intellectual development goes hand in hand with arrested emotional development.

Jon, I actually had to Google these headlines to believe they were real! Today, as never before, I am ever so grateful that I went to school and graduated years ago, when I could still study logic, philosophy, and art, even as a business school student! If university administrators had offered anything like this back then, we all would have looked at them and said, “What? Are you insane?”

An hour ago, I re-discovered this song on my iPod, a work of imagination and creativity from another era that seems prescient now, and it has me smiling and skipping to the beat!

Poor kids, and to think all that they know is a fraud, except that they are the new British debt slaves.

  3. Tim Moore says:

Smiling as I read your Nov. 11 post, this precisely explains why my Alumni contributions to the U of Michigan stopped over 20 years ago.

  4. silverpen123 says:

I’m chuckling at your perfect assessment of the situation, Jon!

  5. Robert McMaster says:

Ho, ho, ho. Boy that was good. Uneducated, poorly-read, without any social or political consciousness beyond shoe fashions. Never put themselves at risk or in harm’s way for anything bigger than their immediate selves. Sloping along with their faces stuck in some stupid electronic toy. First rule is – you have to have something to say. Otherwise, shut up and do something of substance. Stuffed with crap food, toxic medicine, sucking up environmental garbage, this crowd are losers. If it wasn’t for emails and traffic signs they’d be ranked as illiterate.

In my world, I don’t waste time with ‘social media’ boneheads. They can’t be bothered to show up for a meeting, don’t read up, can’t debate, are completely undependable when it comes to taking material action. No discipline. The attention span of rodents. Can’t make a fight with rubbish like this.

    Better fewer, but better.

    • rui zhou says:

This is why we need the draft, let them actually do something for the country. HRC wanted to expand wars in the ME to satisfy Saudi donors. I hope these retards realize if these people get control again they get to go, not me. It is their turn to have some skin in the game.

      • Theodore says:

It is interesting that you mentions this.

In a nutshell, in a chapter in “Scorched Earth” (one of the biggest chapters in the book) — Michael Savage’s latest book, he advocates for a military draft of young computer hackers and coders (2 or 4 year term, i forget) (and, if some of them come from facebook, twitter, or google, those corps would be forbidden from having legal exemptions on their people being called up to serve).

This “cyber” army would peruse and take down ISIS websites and social media accounts (force the socials by law to take down said accounts)

After all, Savage writes, it’s an Infowar.

  6. jim says:

Higher ups in Russia, including the Christian King Putin, have stated before the election that electing the most foul black witch was assuring WWIII. After the election, these same folks celebrated, because they stated explicitly that electing Trump has probably prevented WWIII.

You want something to really cry about? How about being one of the survivors after a full scale thermonuclear confrontation between US and Russia. Massive starvation and rampant cannibalism, slow death from radiation poisoning, every day another journey through Hell just to survive.

    • Terri says:

I agree Jim, i think we should send them to Iraq or Afghanistan,Africa, Mexico or Guatemala so they can see what devastation really is and see what their masters that they worship have created and what they have in store for them, after, of course, they use them as useful idiots, like Mao used the younger generation for his horrific cultural revolution.

  7. cockywannacracker says:

Charlotte Iserbyt wrote a book years ago: The Deliberate Dumbing Down of America. The material in the article above confirms that the strategies employed to achieve this objective were, alas, successful! Thanks, Jon, for your informative and reliable investigative reporting. Love your work.

    • Greg C. says:

Or read The Underground History of American Education by John Gatto. Fantastic writer and researcher. Hard to come to grips with the fact that this widespread ignorance has been deliberately engineered starting over a century ago. But now, here it is in all its glory.

    • phoneyfakealias says:

It would be great if she were younger and Trump could appoint her to dismantle the Dept of Education.

  10. lordwindemere says:

    Stupidity happens.

Each and every scientific fraud creates a scientifically-flawed paradigm that needs defending. Think about AIDS, the Moon Landing, the Ozone Hole, and the Greenhouse Effect! The textbooks are full of lies.

People are, in part, made stupid with lies and falsehoods. Only a fraction of college students become highly intelligent; the rest simply become henchman for the Status Quo.

The ruling elite cares much less about intelligence than obedience. New and radical inventions that upset the status quo are not welcome. Scientists like Bazant, Louis Alvarez, and Robert Gallo become apologists for entrenched power.

Cold Fusion was actually real. This may surprise people, but it’s true. [Don’t bee too quick to roll your eyes!]

Why does Tesla take a back seat to Edison in history books? Ask yourself that!

    • Kurt says:

Not to mention Theory of Evolution, Theory of Relativity, Theory of Gravity,… all generally accepted as facts although none have been scientifically proven (note the word “theory”). The education system has been indoctrinating students with false claims for decades.

  11. asmith says:

I hear the David Rockefeller in your last post laughing here…

One one hand, we’ll expose our youth to such unspeakable horrors as WW1 & WW2 that make the survivors emotional cripples and on the other we’ll over nurture an already coddled generation and say it’s ok if they need coloring books and therapy dogs when it’s the former that needed all the help society could provide to help them regain their bearings.

You really can’t win with these people in charge, can you?

  12. walt says:

    Poor babies.
Is this the next generation? Whimps and mommas boys.?

  13. Greg C. says:

School teaches them to be passive receptacles for ideas, and pop culture teaches them to be passive receptacles for emotions. The antithesis of our largely self-educated founding fathers, who grabbed onto life by both horns of thought and feeling, so that they understood themselves and the world around them.

For real!??? What are they teaching them in political science classes??? I can only imagine… I was happy to hear Donald was elected. to me it meant that the citizens of Syria might finally have a chance to rebuild their country! I guess liberals don’t really know or care about national sovereignty and the potential of shifting away from imperialistic bloodshed and destruction makes them cry

  18. ladyjane says:

Neither their parents nor their “educators” are doing these kids any favors, if they are so immature that they need “safe spaces” to protect them from dissenting opinions they should move back home.

    • someguy says:

Most of them will end up in mommy’s basement after they get done going into debt for a college degree. Others just live elsewhere and beg mommy/daddy/grandparents for money, or even do some panhandling on gofundme.

  19. jerzdebil says:

Schools have morphed into badly run front operations for a massive loan shark business backed by the corrupt liberal elites in government. These elites get a ton of money which pays their outrageous salaries and pensions while brainwashing the younger generations to be mindless devotees of their bankrupt ideology. Its truly evil, and you see the clueless kids lashing out in all directions when their emperor god (Hillary) is shown to be a fake. Good news is I think about 47% of the millenials votes for Trump – probably more when you factor out all the “dreamers” who voted illegally – so we are on our way to turning the tide. Just saw a video on youtube talking about the possibility of Chelsea Clinton running for office, and the comments were unanimous – hell no!

    • Theodore says:

This reminds me. I need to see the documentary “Killing Ed”.

How the Islamist “Gülen Movement” runs the highest number of charter schools in America.

KILLING ED is a new documentary feature film that exposes a shocking truth: that one of the largest networks of taxpayer-funded charter schools in the U.S. are a worst-case-scenario—operated with questionable academic, labor, and H1-B visa standards by members of the “Gülen Movement” – a rapidly expanding, global Islamic group whose leader, Fethullah Gülen, lives in seclusion in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania.

  20. Dave says:

Treat them like babies their entire lives and they’ll be much easier to control as adults. The liberal media and education system turns out immature young people who believe all the lies and are too brainwashed and heavily in debt to change anything. The world I grew up in back in the 70s and 80s was harsh, these spoiled pansy socialist kids of today would be committing suicide by the dozens every day if they had to struggle through what we struggled though back then. The system today only sees them as disposable, only useful enough to pay back their massive student loans for the next 25 years, and then they’re tossed away.

It’s refreshing to know that others (while the numbers may be small) actually recognize the breath and scope of this problem. We are rapidly approaching the point of, “I’ll be able to answer your question only if I can find the App on my device”.

Well done on disseminating this information…

  23. Sam Nelson says:

Protocol 1, 28, 29: 28. The abstraction of freedom has enabled us to persuade the mob in all countries that their government is nothing but the steward of the people who are the owners of the country, and that the steward may be replaced like a worn-out glove.
    29. It is this possibility of replacing the representatives of the people which has placed at our disposal, and, as it were, given us the power of appointment.

  24. Paul Reynolds says:

To my perception, most of you people commenting here are just as lost as the sad young kids that you scorn and mock. A see here a lot of petty bullies and mini-tyrants, mini-Trumps if you will…but because you know some truth and “dare” to talk about it (haha I am a truther woo) it makes you wise. Well girls and boys..it takes, you know, a little bit more than that. Face this awful truth..the truth inside your own heart and soul. You are lost too. At least some of these young people you heartlessly scorn for being losers might actually, given some chance, have time to wake up and really feel and actually, over time, gain a degree emotional experience and true life wisdom most of you lack.

If I am wrong, well, my comment won’t bug you in which case this is not for you. But if it is and it makes you feel shame…well maybe that is a good thing. Face it. Real courage is actually seeing yourself honestly for who you are, and doing what is necessary to heal. Healing or wisdom is not talking shit about other people who are damaged for reasons beyond their own control.

    Cheers!

  25. The total liberal takeover of institutions of “higher learning” don’t teach rational thinking or self-sufficiency or independence, so it’s no surprise that when these liberal crybullies don’t get their way, they can’t emotionally handle it.

  26. me says:

I felt the schools betrayed a sacred public trust by offering a biased, twisted condolence party of an adult cry-in/coloring session, simply because Clinton lost, and Trump won. What should have been is a celebration of the conclusion of another presidential campaign season, and the welcoming of our nation’s new president elect… My main question is would they have also sponsored an Adult coloring cry-in if Trump had lost?

  27. D3F1ANT says:

These kids are in for a REAL surprise when they graduate into the real world. They’re idiots for believing this behavior is reasonable, to begin with.

  28. Adaline says:

Hell, I’ve been teary, disgusted and fearful. After all we’ve been through, the threat of Hitlary the Psychopath replaced with Trump.s pandora’s box of evil, now confederate flags are showing up everywhere in an increasingly hostile and violent atmosphere, a 10 year old girl was sexually assaulted in school by a kid who said ‘if Trump can do it, I can too’, and it just keeps getting worse. Trump has millions invested in the oil company Dakota Access Pipeline attacking the native people guarding their water/land. Evil incarnate. College kids are probably scared out of their wits, rightfully so – trending deportation of themselves, friends or family, racial profiling, intolerant assault and this maniac in office while they struggle to get an education that has been devalued and skyrocketed in price in an impossible economy. Good luck to us all.

  29. Eddie Herbert says:

Stop funding Schools that attack YOU. U of M has BILLION$ in Endowments,Foundations, Trusts …. Why should it get YOUR taxes to use against YOU? Same with all these BARNEY BABY “schools”. STOP their tax dollars.

    http://www.govtslaves.info/ford-foundation-funneling-100-million-to-several-organizations-that-play-leading-roles-in-the-black-lives-matter-movement/
    ————————————————

America is dying from lack of economic activity, yet there are TAX-DODGING so-called trusts, foundation, endowments, sitting on hundreds of billions of dollars. They provide huge, steady, salaries to ‘trustees” who have NO interest in ending the Party. Government need to put “Mandatory Term Limits” on them. Make these Money Machines spend ALL that money in a certain amount of time. Things like the Ford Foundation should have been liquidated long ago, not live forever like some VAMPIRE. These Universties need to spend THEIR endowments, NOW, quit sucking the life out of the Students you are supposed to be educating.
Every one of these Artificial Creations should be told “You have 5 years to empty your coffers, or the government takes it all”.

They ARE VAMPIRES sucking life from the Workers who have to make up the taxes these UNDEAD MONSTERS do not pay.
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
The fact that these charities are tax deductible means, in essence, billionaires are able to use tax subsidies for their own purposes, rather than democratically-identified priorities. Assuming a 28% marginal tax rate, it means that taxpayers contribute more than 1/4 of the funding.

Take Zuckerberg’s much-vaunted $100 million gift to Newark schools. Even if we grant that the money went to a good cause (a dubious assertion at best, considering it was mostly intended to spur privatization and mostly went to consultants and charter schools), taxpayers kicked in $28 million of that gift. We had no say in how our money was used, and there are no doubt better ways to use $28 million of taxpayer funds for a failing school system.

Similarly, in an era where funding for public infrastructure is being slashed and neglected, a billionaire may donate $200 million for an opera hall, used mostly by the wealthy. Bill to taxpayers: $56 million.

Or, while tax-starved public universities are passing on huge tuition bills to poor and middle-class students, the Ivies are rolling in donation cash. Again, taxpayers are subsidizing 28% of these donations to already wealthy institutions, while many public universities receive less than 10% of their operating budget from tax subsidies. As with so many other areas, those who need it least receive the most benefit.

  30. Geoff Orchard says:

I read a quote somewhere that went along the lines of: “Men are born ignorant, not stupid. They are made stupid by education.”

Taking out a student loan to get an “education” that leads to standing in long queues at job centers or, worse, to going nowhere, is the first sign that the student maybe shouldn’t be educated any further. You can probably successfully flip a burger pattie without an unnecessary student loan around your neck.

  31. silverpen123 says:

I find it interesting how the kids from Kent State in 1970 had to go back to school the day after the protests opposing the draft. That whole thing was an ugly scene. If anyone needed counseling, it was them at that time. Instead it was “Carry on!” What’s changed? All of our systems have emphasized putting feelings over thinking. A mature, higher minded individual understands that feelings are a gauge to our thinking, and then thinks about the situation rationally, logically, truthfully.

  33. Eihr says:

Those “coloring books” are actually mandala coloring meditation books. They’ve been proven to relieve stress and bring calm. Stop being so close-minded and educate yourselves. Put your ego aside and realize that not everyone can deal with stress the same way. Not everything is about political views.

    • PJ London says:

      From Innercanvas :

“It is true, colouring books can be effective stress reducers. They offer us a reprieve from our fast paced, information driven lifestyles. They invite a present moment focus with their intricate black designs and draw us into the simplicity and ease of filling in spaces with colour. They shift our focus and give us a glimpse of feeling better. They help us escape from the difficulty of daily life and worries.

In that sense, colouring books are no different than video games or Netflix.

Adult colouring books no more teach us about creativity than baseball video games teach us to play baseball, or Netflix dramas teach us how to have healthy relationships. Adult colouring books, video games, and Netflix are no substitute for the real thing. Instead, they alienate us from the rich hands-on experience of our own unique creative process. They rob us from being able to own our successes and learn from our mistakes. And, in the long run, they only perpetuate the underlying problem—that we spend too much time outside of ourselves looking for answers. ”

“They help us escape from the difficulty of daily life and worries.”
In our day, we escaped with sex, drugs, and Rock n Roll.
We would have told them where to put the Crayons.

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving
safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in
broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming “Wow! What a Ride!

Some may never live, but the crazy never die.”
      Hunter S. Thompson
